Some non lolitas need to learn to stfu when it comes to what is and isn't part of the fashion.

Lately I've seen an increase of publications about cutezy taobao brands fashion shows posted on Instagram and tiktok. Some fashion/resellers accounts sometimes wrongfully label it "lolita".

Obviously, some taobao brands make amazing clothing that perfectly fits the fashion, but others just make very cute pieces that aren't meant for lolita, and don't label it as such (or sometimes they do, but it's only for visibility, and honestly I don't mind it, fashion enthusiasts should do their own research and look for credible sources on what the fashion looks like, not blindly trust brands).

And every time, if someone says something along the lines of "this is very cute but not lolita" to try to stop the spread of misinformation on one of these fashion show reposts, it will result in a shitshow.

I've seen some people go about fighting mutuals who have more than a decade of wearing lolita on what the fashion looks like. When you take a look at these people's profiles, you quickly realize they have NEVER worn the fashion.

Lolita is more open that it ever was. Anyone interested in it can find so many resources on how to wear it, the bigger problem is now the selection of reliable sources in a sea of information. Also the fashion has become much more open about what is acceptable. Wearing no blouse in summer, showing knees, rachel lace, clashing textures in some contexts (old school), it used to be frowned upon but isn't anymore. I'm tired of the whole "boooo lolitas are mean elitists because they don't think my genshin impact inspired outfit with a miniskirt is lolita" that's going on on some platforms.

Lolita has a specific look to it, a silhouette, a history. Sure it can change, evolve, new trends can start within it, but it's not up to the non wearers to decide what this look is.

Like idk the vibe im going for is like Its 2010 and your parents just got you a new dell laptop for whatever the occasion was, and youre like 14 years old going into highschool so you decorate it. Youre kinda like scene or emo in certain aspects, and youre like "totally random and cutezy" xd, and youre like "not like other girls" or whateveh. You turn the laptop on and you immediately go on internet explorer to get a cutesy background that really matches how you feel inside, and you download this cool game called minecraft since you have a computer that can play it. you download your previously loved sims 2 and transfer over your custom content using a flash drive. The background you chose for the computer looks like this:

So I know that the media I consumed in my preteen and teenage years gave me my taste in partners, but gods damned it if It doesn't still flavor my current taste in media. I love I mean LOVE stories where the main character are just straight up murdery or morally grey individuals whom if I encountered IRL would just fuckin kill me, but hot damn my armored smithing ass would offer them the sword to do it if I got to test my armor and blades while it happened. I came to this realization while lookin at V-tuber fan arts and realized that while I liked the cutezy one I loved the ragged murder-hobo esque ones despite knowing full well the V-tubers in question are just smoll beanz made of cotton cady and social awkwardness. I don't know if I need therapy or better everday armor or both to cope with this realization...

25 Realizations as I turned 25. 💜

Hi! It's Xy. Welcome to my cutezy blog! 😊

I curated this realizations as I turned 25 in a way that how I perceive things and observe the experiences that turning this age has.

25 years old can be a slow turn march towards our life either it could be your choices, change of careers and such.. This can also be the time that our brain fully matures (as I heard this from my Psychology prof friend).

This can be the time that you and your friends may think long term goals, will I be able to reach my goals?, Am I still lost? Friends talks about marriage, will I gonna have a family? will the notions of responsibility in the future, will I be able to endure it?

But as lifehack.org says "Turning 25 means you're 25 years wiser, but the learning and experiences do not stop here. Appreciate what you've got, make memories, live in the moment and forget about the number. "

Going now to the list...

1. Happiness Lies In The Small Things

- Any small things that can make your day brighter or will bring the best in you matters here. Go read a book, watch a concert, travel, write a journal.. these little things can make a huge impact in your self development and mental health.

2. Your parents are more than just parents

- Family ties gets more deeper, you will now understand how your parents perceive things either helping them to correct themselves or letting them know how you think so that you both learn.. They will become one of your closest friend that will never ever bring you down.

3. You still have a long ways to go.

- As a person who feels pressured about the future and having "what if's" I always remind myself that I have a long way to go and best is yet to come.. I often question myself if this decisions I made will be worthy or will this also lead me to something more better like an eye opener.. "Trust the process".

4. Tired is just a normal, daily feeling.

- As an adult who is working 8 hours a day either night or day shift.. It will always be tiring I often think it never ends tho, I perceive this as maybe the reason we do feel tired is because we are making the most of our life and there is always a silverlining for hardwork..

5. Taking Risks

- Huge word, I prolly think that this is the best age for us to step in our comfort zone, risks might be 50-50 chance but who knows it will lead to the best moment you can have or a start of something new that can change your life.

6. It’s okay if you cannot connect with your childhood friends at the same level anymore.

- As what drake says, "I been losin' friends and findin' peace. But honestly, that sound like a fair trade to me"

They may be your best buds back then but they can be your downfall.. growing apart from then will help you develop your personal skills, communication and camaraderie towards others.

7. It’s Okay To Not Know Everything

- "Patience is the virtue" I have learned that we should not strive to know everything then and there. It is completely okay and normal if you don’t know all the answers. The thing that holds importance is your enthusiasm, passion and willingness to learn and accept new things. If you are open to change and learning sooner or later you will get all the answers that you are looking for.

8. You should know how to choose your friends wisely, and that it’s not possible to keep them all.

- same as #6. Choose the people who chooses you.

Grow and learn with them choose people who keeps you grounded and helps you to achieve your goals.

9. it’s okay to be selfish.

- To a certain extent, especially if it’s your happiness. You should be doing things today that make you happy and contented rather than sad and annoyed. Give peer pressure and start doing something good for yourself.

10. The time to achieve your dreams is now.

- As our brain fully matures, this is the best time for us to achieve our goals one step at a time. Obstacles may hinder you for reaching it but those challenges will mold you into a better person as you are right now.

11. Buying furniture is so much fun.

- Growing also changes your taste and perspective not only on foods, hobbies but on furnitures! You often find yourself amused with stuffs that is useful for a long run.

12. You can love someone but not like them..

- You can feel the longing of loving someone but in a way of not turning it into deeper hole of relationships.. You see them as a person you love to see, love to talk but liking them can't be possible.

13. Sometimes love and happiness do not reside in the same person.

- "People don't like love, they like that flittery, flirty feeling. They don't love love—love is sacrificial, love is ferocious, it's not emotive." - medium.com

Love and happiness are two different emotions but sometimes it doesn't feel the same way. Happiness is a desire not a necessity but the feeling of love is not surrounded by happiness or joyful experiences.

14. Your parents are getting old too.

- The hardest part of growing up is realizing that your parents are getting old too. But it can also be an eye-opener and give you an opportunity to spend more and more time with them.

- They can be your bestest friend.

15. You cannot evaluate yourself by comparing yourself to someone else.

- This is a toxic trait alot of people have, we feel pressured by comparing yourself as to what others had it. Long story short, we do have different pathways some had it easy, some had it in very very harder way but one thing for sure is you will be at your chosen destination..

Learning how to just stay as a a bare minimum that we can be, understand that your path is not the same as theirs.. Taking a step back going forward doesn't mean your behind.. it's kind of leap of faith sometimes!

16. If you think it, it can be done. Your mind is powerful, that’s why it’s important to treat your body with the right care.

- Self care as always.

17. You should know that staying in is as fun as staying out.

- This is really appropriate to me (hahaha). I always find joy in staying at home watching my favorite shows, listening to music, reading a book.. But I do also treat myself outside still as a way to balance things out..

-But as a tired corpo bpo slave having a good sleep is one of the biggest rewards that I can have. 😅

18. Don’t Take Yourself So Seriously; Mistakes Are Essential.

- When we set boundaries on what to take seriously and what is not, it can effectively leads to finding a silverlining that "when things don't go as to what we plan or want them it helps us to navigate our life to our ups and downs." which life results to be much easier.

- Take things lightly and don't overthink to much.

19. It’s good to work on improving your weaknesses, but it’s even better to focus on your strengths.

- Understanding your faults, low lights will make you a better person.. as a quote says your weaknesses can be your strengths once you get the hang of it.

20. Always aim for progress and not perfection.

- All of us are not perfect, some self centered or close minded might say they are but to summarize this it is still looks expensive to see how one person progress on something they love to do rather than those who makes no mistake.. sudden turned of tables I must say.

- Let's be reminded that everyone starts at zero.

21. We can be kind and honest at the same time.

- I've come to think that I am not always the kindest, sometimes I am sensitive on what people says sometimes not but it gave me an eye opener that aha this is how I should perceive things..

22. Learn to say NO.

- As a kind hearted person, sometimes we get to be so used to and take advantage of our selflessness. I always keep in mind now that not all is possible to be done and not all is acceptable or within their favor.

23. What I look for a person turns different.

- Probably as I became a Kpop stan, the thought of you should not set for a bare minimum guy changed.

-Person who has substance is a must now, a person who thinks long term and a person who will join your vibe.

24. Appreciating self.

- I tend to focus more on loving my flaws, appreciating, learning things that helps me grow more as a person to others.

25. Live as what you like to be. Live within your means.

- Sometimes being an grown independent adult takes a lot of courage to do, tough times always but I always make sure that I live my life as I want to be and not by others to see. I live within my means and learning to accept things that is not meant for me.

Zi (DTIYS) by Sketchman

Here’s my entry for a DTIYS challenge by CuteZi where I drew her persona/mascot character named Zi receiving a lovely gift from her little friend which she's touched by in a sweet and ink-filled way. Zi gets used in a lot of the artist's work including her videos on YouTube which are a good batch of them to watch. Cutezi herself is a character I came to like. Her main design here, along with her current look and design, is very fitting for her since you get an idea of how she likes to dress, and seems very comfortable in her clothes. As for her ink friend, I'm not sure who he's supposed to be and what his name is as well. Despite all of that, I think I'll be drawing more of this character soon.

Random but I saw the new monster high designs and tbh I like them!! (except for the fire guy that design is just... oof.) I only wish the style was a bit more blocky? stylized? Idk how to explain it, it's just way too cutez-y. I'm not the target demographic, but when I was a kid what made me and friends want the dolls was the creepier not cutezy wootzy look

I feel like softness and creepy factor could have been better mixed
