₊ ⊹ the price of the name.
synopsis: reader has had a hard life, and now she’s an orphan. but someone just as lonely comes into her life to take her under his wing.
warnings: some calm before the storm. miguel won’t compromise his morals. diet angst. cursing.
platonic!miguel x daughter-like!reader. no seriously, reader is eighteen and young. this is found family, not romantic. training begins, and with miguel it is anything but easy. but sometimes he softens.

part ii: star girl
   .     ˚ * ✦ . . ✦ ˚
“there are a lot of things you’re going to have to keep up with.” miguel said to you as you both walked through the halls of the spider society. you didn’t miss the glances and stares as you passed, and it made you shift closer to him.
he glanced down at you before glaring at a spider who stared a bit too hard, and they scrambled away.
“excuse their attention, i don’t usually take on apprentices.” he said simply as he continued walking. you had to practically run to keep up with his long legs.
“rule number one, keep up. i don’t need a kid dragging me down on missions or runs around the base. you’re eighteen, you can handle that.” he said without looking at you. you had to fight the urge to scoff at that. did he even realize how fast he was walking?
“rule number two, you have to protect your universe just as much as others. you are the only spider woman of universe 348, so you need to be vigilant.”
he glanced back at you again before saying.
“rule number three, you have to keep your grades up.”
you paused at that, your step faltering. “excuse me?”
“you heard me. you need to stay sharp, and not just in your training.” he hovered his hand over the key reader to the training area, and the doors opened with a soft hiss.
she had figured that he was insanely smart in some subject, as all spider people were, but she hadn’t figured it out quite yet. she’d only known him for a week.
“okay, fine. i’ll keep my grades up. anything else?” she asked as she looked around at the various equipment around the gym, all high tech and sparkly.
“yep. rule number four, when i say jump, you say…” he looked at you pointedly.
“how…high?”
“good job, you understand one of the most universal phrases. now run a lap.” he said, putting his hands on his hips and nodding to the track.
you stood still, not quite used to miguel’s pentient for sarcasm. he snapped his fingers in front of your face.
“c’mon kid, out of the clouds. jump.”
you rolled your shoulders, letting out a sigh as you began to jog.
this was going to be so much fun.
₊ ⊹
as weeks passed, you were beginning to realize just how much of an oddity yours and miguel’s partnership was.
the spider society had begun to call you ‘star girl’. the name laced both awe and envy.
it was loosely based on your suit, you were sure. it was blue with a few little stars trailing down it to add ambiance. but it was also linked to rarity.
the looks did not fade as time passed. and some looks of curiosity hardened into ones of jealously.
miguel was the unofficial leader of the spider society, and he was a hard man to please. many spiders gunned for your position, wanting even just a nod from him. but they got nothing. most of them were lucky if they ever got a single word out of him at all.
you would argue that their idea of miguel was tainted by rose colored glasses.
getting morsels of praise from him was great, partially because you knew he meant it when he said it. but every thing else?
“you need to be quicker. one day you might need that second to sling a web to safety or save a civilian. you can never afford to be slow, y/n.”
“again. your right hook is still too weak. you can’t always rely on webs.”
“kick your leg higher.”
“your webbing aim is still lacking, kid.”
“again.”
“again.”
“again.”
you had never been worked so hard.
it all piled into one training session of hand to hand combat.
there was always one rule when they were on the mat: no hitting faces.
no kicks. no punches. no slaps. no webs.
so instead, miguel would catch your blows with his hands, allowing you to throw punch after punch into his palms, correcting your positioning and your power everytime.
“it’s still really weak, kid. again.” he said, taking a step back, widening his stance once more in preparation for your punch.
but you didn’t move. you had been getting worse and worse as the lesson went, completly lost and confused as miguel kept dismissing each of your attempts.
“i don’t know how.” you murmured.
“quit pouting and try again. if you give up this quickly in an actual fight, you’ll fail. do. it. again.” he demanded, unaware of how tears pricked your eyes in frustration.
“i said i don’t know how!” you yelled, voice cracking pathetically halfway through.
miguel actually took a step back at your outburst, eyes widening slightly. for a moment, you expected him to bite back, or send you home. but when he didn’t reply, you kept going.
“i don’t know how, miguel. you tell me again, but i don’t know how to correct it. i need you to show me, not just tell me.” you said softly, suddenly embarrassed and a little frightened at his silence.
he swallowed, and his expression softened.
“go…go get a drink of water, then i’ll show you.” he said, blinking as he glanced away from you.
you had to fight off the urge to raise your own brows, instead using this rare moment of mercy to chug down water from one of the bottles on the side.
when you stepped back on the mat, miguel stood beside you, showing you exactly how to hold your fist, then how to move your arm.
when he stood in front of you again, holding his hand up in preparation, you threw your fist with as much force as you could muster.
the resounding slap made you cringe, and you opened one eye to check miguel’s expression.
the asshole looked bored.
“still didn’t hurt.” he deadpanned, and you responded by shoving him. he took a step back, a move that would not be possible unless he allowed it.
“you didn’t let me finish. it didn’t hurt, but it was better.” he said, pushing your forehead with his pointer finger.
you smiled, happy that at least you were improving.
and to your surprise, miguel gave you a small smile of his own.
₊ ⊹
after that practice, miguel’s whole training model changed.
now four months later, he met you at the entrance to his office, fiddling with his watch until a glowing portal opened up. when you raised a brow at him, he simply stepped into the portal, not bothering to tell you to follow.
when you exited the in-between of the universes, you were surprised to find that you were in a massive forest full of trees as tall as buildings.
without so much as an introduction, miguel shot a web and swung away from you.
“hey! what the hell, mig?” you shouted, struggling to swing beside him.
he glared at you. “never, ever, call me that. and we’re working on your swinging today.”
you glared right back, fumbling to keep your balance in the new setting. “no shit. but did you have to leave me?”
he smirked, flashing his canines at you when you almost fell. “expect the unexpected, y/n. i thought i taught you better.”
you scoffed, before once again nearly dropping.
miguel reached a hand out to you on instinct, but you recovered your balance.
“okay, let’s start easy. swing and fwip.” he said, murmuring the words as you mimicked his actions.
you smiled at him as you got the hang of your new surroundings. “did you get pointers from peter b?”
his face became grim. “do not dare mention that mans name. it summons him.”
you chuckled at that, before you pulled your web hard and swung your body into a backflip.
“see, i’m not entirely incompetent.” you told miguel, continuing to swing with him as he gave you small pointers.
“i’m aware. but i need you to be in top shape for when you go on a mission soon.”
you stopped shooting webs, pausing and dropping to the leaf-covered ground.
miguel circled and landed before you.
“are you telling me i’m ready?” you asked, looking up at him in disbelief.
“i’m telling you that i think you can handle slight anomalies. nothing big yet, just little disturbances.” he said, keeping his expression blank.
you bounced on your toes, chewing at your lip in excitement.
four months of training, and you’d be in the field.
you fought down the urge to whoop in celebration, or jump, or something. this was miguel after all. he didn’t appreciate sudden expressions of joy in his general vicinity.
so instead you settled for a sincere “thank you.”
he nodded sagely, fwipping back up to the trees.
and you followed, shooting webs and flipping, eager to sharpen your technique.
because of this, you missed the proud smile across miguel’s face.
₊ ⊹
you opened the door to your bedroom, eager to get your suit off and shower when you spotted the white box on your bed.
it was unassuming, plain except for a small message written in absurdly neat handwriting.
‘star girl’
you glanced around your room, even going so far as to ask lyla to scan it. calling on her was something you didn’t do too often. even though she was an a.i., it still felt like she was a person and that you were annoying her.
the projected woman granted your wishes, turning to you to tell you that all was well. she wore a secretive smile across her digital lips as she looked at you, then the box.
you glanced at the cardboard.
“you know something.” you said, tone suspicious as you tried to study lyla for answers.
she shrugged. “best way to know is to open it.” she replied before disappearing into a cloud of pixels.
you shuffled over to the box, tracing the edge of it before lifting one corner. you glanced inside and promptly slammed the top shut.
no fucking way.
there was absolutely no way.
you took a step back, turning your back to the box.
you couldn’t accept that.
but it was left on your bed. with your nickname on it.
you sucked your teeth as you turned back and fully opened the box.
inside it sat a beautiful midnight-blue spider suit with flecks of white stars all along it. you lifted the body of the suit up by the armpits, studying the way that the webs along it became geometric like constellations.
the white lines around the sides and waist glittered and flickered.
nanotechnology.
only one person had the materials to do this. and only one would have the courage to give it to you.
miguel.
you clutched the suit to your chest, fighting the raw emotion that caught in your throat.
you told him how much you loved the stars, explaining each and every constellation you had included on your suit.
you flipped the fabric in your hands to check.
cassiopeia on the ribs. canis major on the base of your foot. orion tangled in the spider symbol on the chest.
he would never give it to you in person. no, that would be far too informal, far to unprofessional.
so you sat in your room, biting your lip to fight back tears as you stood in your empty house, holding the glittering gift to your body like a vice.
you wondered how many nights he had spent making this. he had told you how hard his suit was to make, how tedious the process was. and he had done it all again.
for you.
fuck being unprofessional. you wished that he had given it to you in person anyway.
“lyla?”
“yes, y/n? are you alright, hun?”
“can you tell miguel-” you swallowed as a tear trailed down your cheek. “can you tell miguel thank you? like, really thank you?”
“…of course, hun. get some rest.”
you sank to your knees in the quiet of your dead house and sobbed, wishing for all the world that someone was here.

Meanwhile, in another universe……
Your adrenaline ran high that you could hear your heart pounding in your ears. You adjusted your hood and backpack many times as you ran. You panted heavily and you could feel the light layer of sweat starting to build on your skin. A sigh of relief escaped your lips as the destination finally came into view and you were able to slow down a bit. You quickly checked the clock on the wall.
Time wasn’t on your side and you needed to leave now.
You quickly entered the train terminal and headed for the ticket booth.
“I need one, one way ticket to Gotham as soon as possible. Please.” you said as quick as possible trying to hide your desperation. The woman at the ticket booth looked confused as she quickly observed your figure.
“Aren’t you a little young to be riding the train? Nonetheless, be going to Gotham and at this hour?” She asked baffled that a young teen was standing in front of her at this time at night. You let out an annoyed huff as you quickly showed her a fake ID.
“I would like my ticket. Now.” you said annoyed as you bit your tongue from making any sarcastic remark. A thought bubbles in the back of your mind.
He could come home any second.
The ticket booth lady’s attitude then changed and she rolled her eyes.
“That’ll be $150” she said matching your energy. You quickly handed her the cash and grabbed your ticket.
“And kid? You better run” She adds. You glanced at her confused as an automated announcement rang throughout the station
“Train from Nueva York to Gotham is now boarding”
Your eyes widened and silently cursed as you took a brief glance at your ticket to remember the information before running to the platform.
You barely had made it.
It was no shock to see that the train cart was nearly empty. Who would want travel all the way to Gotham at this time at night?
You made yourself comfortable in the back of the cart and sat your book bag on your lap. You silently fiddled with a bracelet on your wrist as the anxiety and guilt began to form in the pit of your stomach. A thousand thoughts began to fill your head.
Gotham was brand new territory for you. You were taught and aware of the violence that occurred. Things could go wrong and he won’t be able to protect you this time….
You quickly shook those thoughts away from escalating and decided to lean against the window and silently look out.
“Lo siento, padre. I hope one day you can forgive me.” You whispered
An: no romance. Miguel is your dad.
no grammar checks. I had to write this before I completely forget. Sounded like a good idea in the moment. Might delete later. Might edit later.

Maybe a Hobie x reader where Miguel and the reader have a close relationship (like Miguel see the reader as his daughter) And Hobie and reader are dating and nobody know. But then Miguel figured out in some way.
Hope it’s okay !!
I love thisss
Miguel is readers actual father cuz I don’t see him getting rlly close w someone like a daughter unless it’s his actual daughter, you can be adopted or biological

Tumblr media
You laughed as hobie practically dragged you to his room.
He let go of your hand when he got in his room “Hello, sweetheart.” He said, picking up his guitar as you sat down on his bed. He plugged in his amp, and fixed some settings.
“Oh so you love your guitar more than me now?” You said, feigning offense.
“That’s not very fair, innit? Can’t love you both equally now?”
You laughed and rolled your eyes as he smiled and started strumming his guitar. He tuned it and then he started playing.
You smiled at how excited he got when he played, he had a huge grin on his face, he glanced at you sometimes too, even singing to you.
After an hour of that, you both laid down in the bed, talking and just looking at each other.
“It’s late, we should probably get you back to HQ, yeah?”
“Yeah. You’re right.” You mumbled, you both stood up, and you gave him one last kiss before leaving through the portal you opened
Miguel was waiting in your room, you screamed for a second and he just stood there.
“Jesus Christ! Dad!”
“Care to explain?” He said, holding up a photo booth picture of you and Hobie. You both laughed, hobie flashed the middle finger, and in the last one kissed.
“Why are you snooping in my room?!” You grabbed the photo.
“Well I came to clean it, then I saw that, and then I saw that!” He pointed to the jacket that was hung in your closet, a jacket that was obviously his.
“Dad…”
“Are you and hobie dating?” He asked, feeling like he knew the answer.
“Yea.”
“How long?”
“… like a … few months.”
“How much is a few?”
“Like… 5.”
“5 months?!”
“5 months.”
He sighed and rubbed his temple “Hobie- out of everyone- Hobie? The biggest pain in my ass?”
“Yea.. yeah. Sorry I didn’t tell you..”
He sighed again. “It’s just kissing.. right?”
“Dad!”
“Oh my god are you guys-!”
“No! Dad!” You covered your face, embarrassed.
“Good. I’ll beat his ass.” He mumbled.
“Goodnight dad.” You said as he left.
“Goodnight… you leave the door open.”
“Why?!”
“Because.” He narrowed his eyes.
You groaned “Fine.”
He left the hallway, and Hobie opened a portal at the right time.
“Just thought I’d stay here for tonight. That cool?” He said, hands in his jacket pockets.
You jumped, startled.
“Shhshshsh.” You said, covering his mouth.
“I swear to god, if that’s who I think it is!” Miguel yelled.
You winced and told him to go in the closet as your dads footsteps boomed down the hall.
He looked around, saw you on the bed.
“Hey… dad. What’s up?”
“Hey Miguel.” Hobie said from the closet. You groaned.
“Can he stay dad please?”
“Ay dios mío. Just keep the door open.” He grumbled, staring at hobie as he left.
“Teenagers…”

soccer dad!miguel who despises that shithead #10 for being too rough with his precious baby girl on the field. He can't wait until Gabi's old enough for the all girl's team, but until then, Miguel would have to cope with watching the boys on the opposition get away with completely barreling through his little angel.
soccer dad!miguel who yells over all the soccer moms on the sideline, making sure his booming praise reaches Gabriela and his childishly cruel berating throws off whoever's trying to tackle her as she dribbles the ball up the field.
soccer dad!miguel who loses his absolute shit when Gabi is elbowed to the ground by that #10 kid. His fatherly instincts consume him and without thinking, he storms onto the field cursing at the ref and yelling all sorts of profanities in both Spanish and English. His veins bulge in his biceps and head as he rushes over to console Gabriela, but he swallows his outrage momentarily to crouch down on the grass.
soccer dad!miguel who carries himself with such tenderness when checking to make sure his daughter isn't injured, sighing heavily with relief when he's met with a reassuring smile from the mildly frazzled little girl. That soft demeanour completely transforms into pure protectiveness and anger as he stands up and turns to glare at #10, his tall, tan, muscular body towering over the little boy.
"¿Qué demonios fue eso? Just because you want to win doesn’t mean you have to push and shove. That kind of behaviour is for losers. Weren’t you raised to treat girls with respect?" He scolds, his voice dripping with judgement as his sharp red eyes bore into the poor kid.
soccer dad!miguel who can't help but scoff, unimpressed, when the little boy starts crying, his stature and harsh words obviously scaring the kid as he sniffles and looks back and forth between Gabriela and Miguel apologetically, but he's unable to find his words in the presence of such an intimidating grown up. Miguel’s attention shifts to the young woman rushing onto the field towards #10, a scowl on his face.
“Watch your mouth, asshole. He’s just a kid playing a game, it’s not like he was trying to hurt her!” You yell at the tall, stoic man. You reach out to comfort the little boy, wiping away his tears.
soccer dad!miguel who hasn’t seen such a beautiful girl in his entire life. His ex-wife was okay, but their relationship turned nasty, all remnants of feelings completely soiled by her tendency to lie and cheat. He finds himself checking you out, sharp red eyes lingering on your curves before he feels Gabi hugging his leg and he’s immediately snapped back into his state of disdain and rage.
“Your kid has been roughing my daughter up the whole damn day. Doesn’t seem like a fun game to me.” Miguel counters, patting Gabriela’s head as he glares at you.
“For starters, he’s not my kid. And also, she’s not even hurt! I’ll admit, it wasn’t a clean tackle, but you’re overreacting and you’re making an innocent kid cry.” You scoff, finding this grown man’s behaviour unbelievable as your nephew cowers behind your leg, leaving you and Miguel staring each other down.
soccer dad!miguel who’s aware that he can be a bit overprotective of Gabriela at times, and begrudgingly decides to back down. Especially when you’re looking at him with those beautiful eyes. He’d let this random woman do anything to him as long as she’s looking at him with those eyes.
“Shit… look, I may have come off more aggressive than I intended. I didn’t mean to scare your…?” Miguel begins, shrugging his shoulders as he looks down at Gabi and then back up at you.
“Nephew.”
“Your nephew. He just needs to watch out not to do any damage to the other players, especially the girls.” Miguel says softly, trying to be the bigger person for Gabriela’s sake (and also because he wants to distract himself from how hot it was when you told him off)
soccer dad!miguel who forgets about being nice and friendly when you shrug him off with a frustrated “whatever” and walk off hand-in-hand with your nephew. That’s when he looks around in confusion to see that the game had ended and everyone had left the field. Miguel picks Gabi up and kisses the side of her head, although he's still seething at how that #10 got off unscathed and you didn't even attempt to acknowledge his attempts at an apology for losing his cool. He spends the entire afternoon silently dreading the next time the two teams have a game together, because he'll have to endure the sight of that little shit and his aunty with the fat ass.

Thinkin abt Dad Bod!Miguel…
Ft. Daddy, Praise, n Size kink!!! (Duh.)
[NSFW]
Tumblr media
You leave the classroom after enduring the most stupid 3 hour 8am lecture that you needed for a stupid credit for the stupid degree that you cried and prayed for.
Your spirit is immediately lifted once you see your boyfie waiting outside of the building for you, the six-foot-nine man leaning against his car like a total poser. His burly arms are crossed, which makes his pecs bulge through his shirt even more. In your opinion, he fills out his button-up perfectly; the short sleeves barely able to contain his biceps, the hairs of his chest peeking out the first three open buttons… and his soft belly. Perfect for naps. You couldn’t see it from here, but you just knew his ass was lookin good in those jeans, too. You crash into his arms, kisses planted on your head. “Missed you today, mamita.” He mumbles into your hair. “Missed you more, baby. Now, please, take me home.”
You step in the house and face plant onto the couch. You could’ve fallen asleep right there, but you feel a breath on your ear, “Mamita, aye…”, you lift your head with a “hm?” toward the gentle voice, “Mama, ven a la cama… será mejor que’l sofá, beba… ven, ven…” you let out a small ‘Mph’ when you’re peeled off the couch. Miguel scoops you up bridle style, as if you were a feather, and takes you to the bedroom.
Once you sluggishly remove your clothes, down to your panties and tank top, you, again, face plant into what feels like heaven (your bed). Miguel goes to change so that he’s just wearing his boxers. He stops in front of the full-body mirror, looking at himself. His muscles are still there, but he isn’t too happy with what he sees, having gained some weight since being with you, but more importantly, he wonders if you think the same. Even a little bit.
You smile to yourself as you feel the stomach of your lover pressed against your back, wrapping you with his strong, hairy arms and entangling his thick legs with yours, cocooning you in a bundle of warmth. “Comfy, mamita?” He presses a tender kiss on your temple. You sleepily nod your head against the pillow, blissful in your position as little spoon. There’s a moment of peaceful silence as his calloused hand starts to affectionately rub your back under the tank top.
The thought still eats at him, though.
“Bebe…”
“hm?”
“Esta feliz conmigo?”
“What?” Your head snaps up toward him. There’s genuine concern in your voice.
“I love you, that’s no question, but if you want to have your college fun, you should be able to. I don't want you to miss out on experiences because of… me. ” You sit up now, looking at him with furrowed brows, “What’re you talking about?” He looks down at the bare skin of your thigh, a deep, discouraged sigh escaping his lips as his pointer finger caresses the skin there, “I just want you to be happy. More than anything.”
In one swift motion, you straddle him. “Missing what? Those dumb frat parties filled with little boys who wouldn’t know how to handle me? You’re so silly, baby.” You press a tongue-filled kiss on his lips, and a low growl erupts in his throat. “Ugh, I’d miss out on a million parties if it meant having all this.” You murmur against his lips before starting a trail of kisses down his torso, even with an occasional nibble, the warmth and hair of his skin meeting your lips the whole way down. You worshipped every inch of his thick body with your lips, all the way from his broad and hairy chest, his stretch marks, to his chubby midriff, down his mouth-watering happy trail, and finally to the hem of his boxers, where a bulge began to form.
You look up and give him a sultry look, “No college boy could ever compare to my fine ass hubby." His voice becomes strained, breath labored as you take your index finger and rub precise circles on his wet tip through his boxers, making him hiss. “fuck, mami… what did I do to deserve you? Eres una Bendicion, tu sabes?”, he caresses your cheek with his thumb, “Scored a fucking goddess… I’m so fuckin’ lucky. No sé cómo conseguí una mujer como tú..” he coos.
"And you’re so big n’ strong n’ handsome, Daddy. I love it.” Your voice combined with your touch made his dick twitch, his now angry tip slightly peeking out. You fail to fight back a small moan when you release his pretty cock from the confines of his boxers, it springing against his lower belly. Drool began to form in your mouth. You haven’t even tasted it and you were already cock drunk. “love this cock s’much…so perfect.” you mewl as you slowly begin pumping his cock. Miguel pathetically looks down at you; The prettiest girl in the world showing him the attention he doesn’t feel worthy of but oh so deserves. “Awe, You want daddy’s cock, don’t you, baby?” He tuts, his voice all sweet and pouty.
“Mhm,” you nod, a meek expression on your face.
“Let me show my man just how happy I am to be his.”
And any self-doubt that Miguel had about you being with him was poof! Gone.

More Than A Good Shag...
Tumblr media
"And if I want you to bend me over the counter and fuck me senseless before those waffles?"
Nothing but fluffy smut with dadbod!Miguel, MDNI 18+
That simple conversation had led to you leaning over Miguel's kitchen counter, drooling into the grout as his cock all but split you in two from behind.
"So tight..." He whined, tightening his grip on your hips as he pulled your hips back to meet his thrusts. His heart melted at your breathless murmurings, and he slowed his thrusts to sensually roll his hips into yours. Leaning over your back, he laced his fingers through yours and pressed open mouth kisses down your neck.
Driving his cock deeper, he groaned at the way your walls clamped around him, fighting to keep him trapped as he pulled out slowly, only to slide back in at an agonizingly slow pace.
You gripped his hands and moaned as the veins along his cock grazed your sensitive walls. With the way he was grinding slowly into you, the base of his cock ground into your overstimulated bundle of nerves with delicious friction. A tingle slithered down your spine and tightened in your pelvic floor.
"Miggy..." You whimpered, burying your face in the crook of your arm.
"Shh, hermosa, I've got you." Miguel murmured in your ear, picking up his pace again and freed one of his hands to grope at your breast through his shirt. Burying his face in your hair, he breathed deeply, relishing the way the scents of your arousal and his own natural musk blended so harmoniously.
Cupping your breast through the fabric, he growled low in his throat as he plucked at your nipple, and drove into you with renewed vigor. His soft belly brushed your lower back with every thrust as he leaned back to grip your hips, determined to drive you both to completion.
You tried to reach between your legs to rub at your clit, but Miguel bat your hand away with a grunt. You opened your mouth to whine, but cried out when his rough fingers began massaging to small nub expertly. Your murmurings devolved into inarticulate mewling.
Feeling his balls tighten and his cock twitch, Miguel leaned over you again as his pace slowed and he nipped at your ear.
"You looked so pretty last night with your lips around my cock, hermosa." Your breath caught as he sucked at your thrumming pulse. "Then when you came... mierda... pure rapture." Your brain scrambled into static at the words rolling off his tongue, and your body trembled at his deep husky tone.
Who'd have guessed this high-school football coach would be not only the best shag youd had in a long time, but also the sexiest dirtiest talker you'd encountered.
"Gonna cum for me again, hermosa?" His honeyed tone, and the way his tongue darted out to tease your jawline tipped you over the edge, warmth overwhelmed you as you groaned and gripped his hand for all you were worth. Miguel followed not long after, biting your shoulder lightly as his cock twitched and rope after rope of his seed painted your fluttering walls.
Coming down from your high, you were vaguely aware of Miguel pulling out of you, followed by the sensation of a damp cloth between your legs.
"You did so well, Y/N." Miguel murmured, nuzzling your ear and kissing your neck as he gently cleaned your folds. Leaning back into him you rested against his solid body and looked up into his warm dark eye. He smiled softly, eyes creasing at the corners and leaned down to kiss your nose. "Ready for those waffles?"
In that moment you knew, Miguel O'Hara was going to be so much more than a good shag.

im so sorry but i can just imagine miguel laying his head on his wife’s stomach as he often does to get her to play with his hair because he’s a big baby and after laying down for a second he shoots up looking like he can’t believe something just happened
“ay miguel wtf”
he just shushes you and puts his head back to your stomach and when he looks up at you he has the biggest smile you’ve ever seen on his face
“oh my god what is wrong with you”
“mi vida… you’re pregnant”
“..what? no baby im not”
he looks like it’s christmas morning “yes cariño you are”
“how do you know” you’re assuming he was gonna say that he had a feeling
“i can hear it” you look at him like he’s gone insane
“hear what?”
“a heartbeat”
“uh yeah.. mine?”
he rolls his eyes “no.” his hands come to the sides of your waist and he just stares in wonder at your belly
“there’s another one. it’s small but it’s there”
“migs..” you place a hand on his face, you feel bad
“i know you want it to be true but i think i would know if i was over a month pregnant” (heartbeats develop around 35 days)
he just brings your hand down gently still smiling like a madman but then he looks at you very seriously “baby when was your last period”
you think about it for a second. you’ve been literally so wrapped up in work you hadn’t even noticed. your hand comes up to your mouth
“oh my god.”
he’s practically beaming at you but you.. just feel nauseous. “holy shit”
you spring up and run to the bathroom and lock yourself in. you hadn’t told him but you’d stashed a couple tests under the sink. you pulled every single one out and used all three.
he’s outside the bathroom door knocking repeatedly begging you to come out or let him in but you just sit on the floor too scared to look.
“bebe please come out”
“no”
“mi amor i will break this door down”
“don’t you dare”
you heard him sigh and slide down the wall to sit on the floor outside the door.
you wanted this. eventually. you were sure of it but you had expected it to be planned, you weren’t even off the pill yet.
your hands were trembling as you finally picked the test up and flipped the first one over.
and then the second
and then the third.
you sat on the floor a while longer to process. a few minutes later you finally open the door and his head turns to you, face full of concern. you put your hand on his shoulder so he doesn’t get up. you take a shaky breath and hand him the test
he takes it from your hand gently. his eyes widen as he reads it. he looks back up at you. your eyes are puffy you’d clearly been crying but before he can say something like “we have other options” “we don’t have to do this yet if you’re not ready” (which is exactly what he was about to say)
you look at him dead serious and threaten “if you baby me or smother me or try to keep me from working i will make you wish you were never born” but he isn’t even listening he just throws the test aside and pulls you down into his arms. you feel his shoulders shudder slightly
“miggy are you crying?”
he sniffles and looks down as you tip his face up with your hands
“aww mi cielo why are you crying”
“i just never thought i’d get another chance”
you wipe the tears from his face with your thumbs gently.
“well i guess we’re gonna have six kids now”
“six?”
“yeah”
he rolls his eyes even as another tear sneaks it’s way down his cheek “the spider teens are not our children”
“really? because we’ve essentially adopted all five of em”
“speak for yourself”
“oh come on migs i know you love em, even hobie”
“no.”
“mmmhm. i think i’m gonna ask him to be the godfather oo or maybe peter b”
his voice is firm but his face is soft and his eyes are still staring at you like you’re a real life angel he shakes his head gently “you will do no such thing cariño”
“don’t tell me you were planning on asking lego spider man”
“i-“
“god the attachment you have to that piece of plastic is concerning”
“don’t disrespect him like that”
————
the ending was not planned but it made me giggle and i hope you enjoyed

pt iv: the price

prophet girl,
chosen by the sun,
do you hear the gods whispering
those silent stardust words?
it had been three months when hobie jumped through the window of your bedroom to tell you what was happening.
you had been cooking at the stove, boiling water and checking the seasoning cabinet when you heard the tell tale thump of hobie’s boots on your floor.
you expected the usual: hobie wanted to hang, maybe listen to music, maybe take you to his dimension for a show.
but then he stepped out of the bedroom doorway, wearing a look of cold disdain, and you realized something was truly wrong.
but you were getting ahead of yourself.
₊ ⊹
the three months without fighting anomalies or training with miguel had been fine. typical. normal.
but you hated normalcy, especially after the madness of inter-dimensional travel.
and on the quiet nights, where hobie was too busy to visit and there was no crime, you felt lonely.
you didn’t have close friends in your demension, all thanks to how much time you dedicated being spider-woman. when you were just defending your own new york you spent most of your time fighting. but the addition of miguel’s apprenticeship had left you with very little free time to make friends.
the three months without company had worn you down, to the point where you nearly used your watch to go back to Nueva York multiple times.
and that’s how you came to the realization that miguel meant much more to you than you originally thought.
and it felt like shit. because miguel was stubborn. he would not change his mind on bringing you back. and even after three months you were sure that he was still pissed.
you shouldn’t have mentioned gabriella. it was unfair and below the belt.
but your words were not lies; you didn’t want to be treated like you were fragile. you weren’t.
yet you craved it, being held like you were something to be cared for.
you missed your mother. you missed your old friends. you missed the stupid shenanigans of the spider society. you missed…
you missed miguel.
his glares. his scoffs. his chuckles. his smiles.
hell, you missed the way he and peter b bickered. or when he would yell at lyla. or when he would criticize your notes on complex cellular functions.
if it weren’t for hobie, you were pretty sure you would have risked the trip back to Earth-928.
so you had got up from your bed, still in sweatpants and a tank to cook. productivity was hard, but you could try by at least making dinner.
₊ ⊹
and here you were with your head in a spice cabinet, trying to find three seasonings that it looked like you didn’t have. you promptly pulled back upon hearing a thump from your bedroom, greeted with an uncharacteristically grimacing hobie.
“hey” you said simply, trying to figure out what was going on.
he looked up.
“miguel’s chasing down a kid from 1610.”
“wait, gwen’s kid? miles?”
“that’s the one.”
you paused, watching as the steam began to make the pot cover rattle.
“why?” you asked, turning the stove off and fully facing hobie.
he sighed, dropping his head back to look at the ceiling. “his dad’s the captain. and he wants to save em.”
your hands tightened on the countertop. “and miguel will have none of it.”
of course he wouldn’t. he had spent so long holding the canon together, why should he let it crumble for one kid’s father?
you had never agreed with that logic.
which was exactly why hobie was here.
“so what can we do to help miles?”
hobie smiled, passing you a box covered in various stickers and sharpie drawings. “i need help finding him. i’ve already sent one to gwendy, so i’m gonna get her and touch base. but miles doesn’t have one.”
you opened the box to realize that ‘one’ was a homemade watch, just as decorated as its box.
“miguel’s gonna murder you, hobes.” you whispered as you studied the make of the invention.
“yeah, well, he’s had a while to do it, and he hasn’t yet.” came his reply.
you smiled, closing the lid. “so, what’s the plan?”
₊ ⊹
universe 42 was a hunch, an educated guess that left you swinging through a world with no idea of what ‘spider-man’ was.
all around you, roof tops were burning, cop cars were blaring sirens, and thieves were running ramped. it took all of your self restraint not to pause and help.
but you had a mission, and barely enough time to complete it. you needed to find miles morales, before miguel did. you had no doubt that if the kid wasn’t in his dimension that miguel wouldn’t figure it out, so you had to be quick.
you hadn’t expected to find the kid so quickly, running from this universe’s prowler through the streets.
well, swinging.
the kid was fast and unpredictable. but the prowler matched him easily, keeping up with him and even getting a few hits in.
it took you webbing miles and tugging him against a building for the chase to end.
miles threw his elbow back against you, no doubt assuming that you were one of the spiders sent to find and detain him. but then he glitched and went momentarily limp.
you had just enough time to drag him under a covered rooftop and snap hobie’s watch onto his wrist.
that gave miles pause, and you watched as he slowly figured out that you weren’t going to kill him. for good measure, you pulled off your mask, and that seemed to relax him a bit more.
“we need to get you to a safe house, away from the open. can you swing?” you asked the boy, quickly taking inventory of the various injuries on his skin.
you were going to kill miguel when he came.
miles nodded, his eyes drooping slightly with exhaustion. you grabbed him under the armpits to pull him to the edge, and together you webbed to a warehouse not too far away, just on the outskirts of town.
it was a place that you had established long ago. if you ever needed a place to sit and tuck away, you came here.
hobie didn’t even know. and miguel especially didn’t. at least, you thought so.
miles landed unsteadily on his feet, and you once again circled you arm around the younger boy, leading him to a small cot tucked away behind a wall.
he went willingly, practically collapsing onto it as you left him to get some water and first aid. when you returned he had an arm thrown over his eyes.
“hey hey. i know you’re tired, but we don’t have time to sleep right now.” you murmured regretfully, handing him a water bottle and a protein bar. “i need you hydrated and energized. now, let me see your injuries.”
when he removed his sweatshirt and jacket, you inhaled sharply.
forget killing. you were going to gut miguel alive.
as you cleaned his scratches and iced the bruises, he watched you, searching. he may have been young, but he was attentive.
“you’re miguel’s apprentice.”
your fingers halted against his skin, holding a bandage over a small cut.
“yes.” you said. there was no point in lying. “but i assure you that i don’t want to restrain you, nor beat you into a train.”
peter had told hobie about what had happened, and hobie had relaid it to you before you had disappeared into the portal to this universe.
miles winced, from both the hydrogen peroxide and from the reminder. but he didn’t talk about it more. you took it as a sign to drop it.
“this place is terrible.” he muttered, and you noted the way he shifted the conversation.
“yeah, it is.” you agreed, more so to get him to continue talking. he was tight as a wire, this kid. he needed to release some tension, and these words seemed like a trickle before a flood.
miles looked up, studying the metal beams of the warehouse. his jaw tightened, and his eyebrows knit.
he was starting to cry.
“it’s my fault that it is.” came his quiet voice.
you stopped, watching his face as he refused to look at you.
“and what makes you think that?” you whispered, moving your hand to rest over his in an attempt to calm him.
a single tear rolled down his cheek as he looked at you.
“i’m an anomaly. i…the spider wasn’t mine to take. if i hadn’t been bitten, then this world would have been better.”
your heart thumped hollowly as you registered his words. here was this boy, so young and wonderful and strong, torn apart.
by someone who you cared for.
“are those his words?” you asked, and he turned his face to the side, attempting to recover.
but you reached up and pulled him down, and he bent his head to tuck against your shoulder. you pulled him close, letting him cry, granting this one moment of release.
the eye of the storm.
“you are worthy of this suit, miles. it was not you who took that spider. it was fate that you be bitten by it. you couldn’t control that. you are not an anomaly.”
his arms tightened. you held him fast against you.
no kid deserves this. no child. he was only fifteen for fucks sake.
your spider senses tingled. then they roared.
you pushed miles behind a crate, and he went invisible, already sensing as well.
he was hidden right as you heard a portal open below.
your chest tightened, and you pulled your mask back on. you stepped out to the balcony, looking down to find him already looking at you.
miguel ohara.
“long time no see.” you called, and his eye marks sharpened.
hobie had warned you that he had gotten harsher since you left.
“where is he?”
“the child?” you countered, anger already boiling. “the fifteen year old that you beat the shit out of?”
miguel didn’t relent. “he will break the multi-verse, y/n. i don’t have the time to bicker with you. where. is. he?”
“not here. i searched already, and he’s not in this dimension. maybe you should tune up your go-home machine.”
he was in front of you in an instant, towering over you. it would have been intimidating if you had just met him, but you had seen this man shed a tear at holding a newborn mayday, so you stood your ground.
“i’m not playing games, y/n. tell me now.” he growled, and for an instant you felt actual fear.
before you could even open your mouth to reply, a screw dropped from the ceiling.
miguel turned, and miles’s invisibility shivered as he lost his concentration.
“shit.”
miguel launched forward, but you threw a web and tugged him back, quickly webbing him against the railing until he couldn’t move.
you hadn’t stopped training just because you didn’t have miguel.
he yelled after you as you and miles left the building, swinging faster than you ever had before. you needed to make a portal quickly, but your watch was blocked.
“lyla!” you screamed at the watch, and the ai-woman appeared. “let me through!”
“i can’t do that, star girl.” came her reply, almost sounding mournful.
so it was up to miles to open the portal. but hobie’s watch wasn’t as perfect as the one on her wrist. where the portal popped up was unpredictable, and it didn’t stay open for long.
and because the universe loved you so very much, an orange web stuck to both your bodies and hauled you back.
you both rolled onto a nearby rooftop, but you quickly recovered, dragging miles forward as miguel slammed into the ground behind you.
“you run, i’ll distract him. whatever you do, get through a portal.” you shouted as you turned.
you webbed a long string into each of miguel’s shoulders, then pulled so that you slammed your feet against his chest, throwing your bodies off the building.
miguel was fast, but you were smaller, more agile. you kicked at his back, slicing his webs as he tried to sling them. he tried to restrain you, but in the open air of the city, you easily avoided the webs.
but miguel was still gaining, and you were nearly physically incapable of stalling him.
hobie’s voice cut through the watch. “we got ‘em, star girl. you’re doin great.”
“hobie!” you cried, panting as you kicked against miguel’s chest again. “how are you doing that?”
“spider-byte.” he replied. “y’need help?”
miguel caught your foot and threw it to the side.
“nah, i got this. just like old times.” you said back, ignoring the way your muscles burned with overuse. “just get miles out of here.”
“yes ma’am.”
miguel’s fighting tactics were aggressive, almost always throwing and punching. but now, it seemed like he refused to even touch you.
he wouldn’t scratch or aim to hit. he just moved you away and kept going.
you didn’t know if it was pity or mercy, but either way it was pissing you off.
you were swinging forward when you suddenly glitched. hard.
which didn’t make sense. you were wearing a watch, which should have prevented it.
miguel caught you with a web when you fell, and you lifted your wrist to check it.
only to see a blaring ‘CANON EVENT DISRUPTED’ warning on it.
“lyla, explain.” you heard miguel call from above you. you still dangled from his web, and you utilized that to catch your breath.
“there was a canon event in y/n’s universe, but it snuck up on us. the algorithm has never seen it before.” said lyla’s hologram.
miguel looked down at you, cocking his head to the side in question.
you shook your head: you had no idea.
he pulled you up to a roof, where you stood up on unsteady legs. he rested his hands on your upper arms, letting you lean your weight on him for support.
your spider senses were going haywire, and it felt like your head was buzzing. your knees buckled, and miguel sank with you.
you realized he had pulled off your mask when the cool wind hit your face, and opening your eyes, you saw that he had removed his as well.
he looked exhausted. even more than the last time you saw him. how this man was even on his feet was astonishing.
“i’m gonna kill you.” you said as you set your forehead against his shoulder. he chucked, and you punched his chest.
“m’not joking. you traumatized that kid. he was shaking when i got to em.” you muttered, and for a moment you felt like you could fall asleep, warm against miguel’s shoulder.
but then your spider senses screamed, and you jumped up with a rush of adrenaline.
“hey guys, hate to mess up this reunion, but y/n’s universe is collapsing. fast.” lyla spoke up.
you sat up quick, stumbling to your feet. miguel reached to steady you, but you were already pulling from him.
“lyla, open a portal.” you asked, and she did immediately, understanding the urgency of the situation. but a hand closes around your wrist.
and there’s miguel, keeping you from rushing into danger.
your conversation three months ago flashed through your head.
you can’t lock me in a tower and call it love.
his grip loosened as he met your eyes.
“there’s a high chance that i can’t protect you in there, y/n.” he said, voice low.
“does that mean you’re coming with me?” you asked, daring to even hope.
he exhaled, looking to the side. you turned away, your stomach sinking as you remembered who exactly you were talking to.
you jumped through the portal.
₊ ⊹
you had seen the hologram of what the world miguel had been in looked like when it disintegrated, collapsing in on itself. you figured that you’d be prepared when you were faced with your own.
you were so very wrong.
the instant you exited the portal, there was screaming.
hundreds of people flooding the street, trying to escape the black void approaching them. children crying for their parents, families huddling together in a last goodbye, others standing still and letting themselves be taken away.
the plan formed in your head as you zipped through the streets: grab as many as you could and put them in hq. there had to be a way that you could save some of them.
but then your web hit a building, and the void traveled down it with a speed that made you stop. the black mass nearly reached you when a blade cut the string, and you were pulled into a hard chest in midair.
“miguel, let me go!” you screamed, pounding a fist against his chest in an attempt to get free.
“it’s too far gone! there’s no way to save them!” he called back, finding a rooftop that was still safe.
“no!” you screamed again, shoving him away. “i have to try, miguel! i have to! this is my home! i know these people!”
the blackness was seeping towards you two, approaching with an ominous humming that made your hair stand up.
“i can’t let you die.” he whispered as he pulled you against him again, trying to force your through the portal.
“let me! let me die with them! it’s what i deserve!” you were crying, voice so loud and desperate that your throat aches. “let me die miguel.”
he looked down at you and webbed you close, tucking your chin against his shoulder.
“i’m sorry.”
and then there was nothing but the sound of universes rushing around you.
₊ ⊹
you were launched through the portal, rolling across the floor to land face down. your body ached, wanting to give in to sleep. but your mind was racing.
“what was the canon event?” you demanded, getting on your hands and knees in an attempt to rise.
miguel looked at you, a terrible sense of deja-vu flooding his mind as he watched you break down.
lyla scrolled through her charts. “y/n, i don’t think you’re in the right mental state to-“
“i don’t give a fuck what mental state im in right now, i need to know.” you yelled, pounding a fist against the ground as your gut rolled.
miguel rested a hand against your back. “mi estrella, you need to calm down. por favor-“
you slapped his hand away, flinching at the contact. “no. you don’t get to call me that. not now, not ever.” you seethed, turning once more to lyla. “please, i need to know. tell me.”
your voice trembled as emotion stopped up your throat, and tears threatened to spill. your chest was heaving as your body tried to get enough oxygen to fuel the rapid pace of your heart beat.
lyla bit her lip and looked at the screen. “it’s a unique event, and the algorithm didn’t know what number to give it. so…it’s called event 0-star girl.”
you waited as she read the screen, watching her projected expression slowly drop.
“event 0-star girl description. spider woman of universe-328 meets universes doc oc. fight ensues. and…”
she paused, re-reading the page, searching for anything but the words that appeared to her.
“no, no, no…” she whispers, frantic.
“lyla.” you beg, tone desperate as your shoulders start to shake and tears trickled down your face.
she looks at you, with an expression so devastated that your heart drops down to your stomach.
“you…
you die.”

silly list of hc’s about cat dad! miguel to get me out of a writing slump :p (pretty sure i did it wrong 😭)
cat owner! miguel who swore he didn’t want the cat you’d found off the street, demanding for you to take it back where you found it.
“i don’t have time to deal with that cat, just take it back where you found it. quien sabe, de pronto hasta tiene pulgas,” his tone was firm as he spoke, making it clear that he wasn’t comfortable with the cat being here. “c’mon.. i’ll take care of it. you won’t even notice that she’s here. please?” you held the cat up, your puppy eyes and the cat’s pleading look melting his resolve bit by bit. “fine. but if she so much as scratches the couch, she’s out.” (who knows, it might even have fleas)
cat owner! miguel who swore he didn’t like the cat, despite the fact that he made sure not to finish his food just to leave it some leftovers.
“is something wrong with the food? you usually like to lick the plate clean,” you noted after seeing that miguel separated a bit of his food to the side of the plate. “no. i’m just saving some up for the cat so she doesn’t have to eat that kibble alone,” he explained like it should’ve been obvious. you hid the smile on your face as you noted the way that miguel called the cat over after pouring the leftovers in the bowl, his gaze intently on the cat as she ate her food like he wanted to make sure she liked it.
cat owner! miguel who fell asleep on the couch with the kitten sprawled out on his chest, hand on its back mid stroke as they both snored.
you’d thought that your eyes were deceiving you after a long day of work, that your exhaustion had affected your vision by now. you rubbed your eyes a couple times, seeing miguel sleeping comfortably with the cat after he’d claimed that it was time to start looking for a new home for her. you went over to put a blanket over them, noticing that he’d bought a collar for her with the name you were both discussing earlier that week. ‘florecita’ written on the small pendant along with his contact information. (little flower)
cat dad! miguel who finally admitted that the cat wasn’t ‘all too bad’ when you caught him putting a spider-man costume similar to his own on the cat for halloween.
“okay, maybe we shouldn’t kick her out. she’s actually pretty well behaved when it comes down to it,” he admitted, his face turned away from you as he worked out the final design on the cat. “you’re dressing her up like you?” you inquired, noticing the all too familiar red and blue design. “well yeah, she’s gonna look like the coolest cat in the neighborhood,” he told you, florecita letting out a meow like she was agreeing with him.
cat dad! miguel who was completely surprised to find out the sweet girl he’d been cuddling with when you weren’t home turned out to be a boy.
“ay florecita, you don’t know how hard it was to decide on your name just to have to change it,” he spoke to the cat while he held it in his arms, the shock starting to wear off as the two of you walked back home from the vet. “we could just call him garfield,” you suggested, since the two of you noticed that the cat always lingered at the table whenever you had lasagna. “garfield it is, mijo,” he spoke, more so to the cat as he stroked its back.
cat dad! miguel who got subjected to your relentless teasing about how reluctant he’d been to let the cat in at first.
“thought you didn’t like the cat,” you murmured, watching as miguel made a tuna cake for the cat’s first year with the two of you. “isn’t that joke starting to run its course?” he grumbled, holding the cat up to the cake as miguel blew on the candle. “just saying, you’re acting really friendly for someone who didn’t want it at first,” you replied, taking a seat at the table as miguel fed small pieces to garfield.
cat dad! miguel who can’t picture coming home without the cat being there waiting for him anymore, the comfort of being by your side and the cat’s being his motivation for every mission that he goes by.
he’d never been one for having wallpapers on his gizmo, but he’d selected one that had both of you with the cat on it. he found it to be somewhat of a lighthouse in the middle of a storm, anchoring him back home whenever he thought that he’d lost everything. whenever he thought that he had nothing to fight for anymore, the picture reminding him of two of the things that he cared about the most.

soccer dad!miguel who groans at the compromise he's been offered by the club manager. There's no way this was happening.
"I'm sorry, Mr O'Hara, but it's either the two of you organise a reconciliation meeting and remedy your behaviour towards one another, or you're both banned from attending the under 9's Division A league for the remainder of the season." The manager sighs, looking over at your scowling face, before looking back up at Miguel.
By 'reconciliation meeting', the bastard meant a playdate between Gabriela and Tony. And after the dig you took at his failed marriage, and the mistake he made of calling you a slut, Miguel was not fond of forgiving and forgetting just yet. Sure, the idea of having you in his apartment made his dick swell, but it also made his heart pound with dread.
soccer dad!miguel who glances down at Gabriela and frowns. The little girl clings to his leg and sniffles at the idea of her dad, her hero, not coming to her games anymore. Seeing Gabi, who's usually so fierce and self-assured, on the verge of tears over childish bickering with the opposition puts the situation into perspective. The whole reason he got into an argument with you in the first place was for Gabriela's sake. Being there to support his daughter means more than his ego.
In the end, you and Miguel both agree to the prospect of a playdate, although all four of you are wary of what's to come.
soccer dad!miguel who curses under his breath as he holds Gabi's hand and they walk back to the car, his heavy stomps amusing Gabriela to an extent as she giggles at the squelching sound of the muddy grass beneath her dad's clunky shoes. She's nervous about having her nemesis on the pitch at her home tomorrow, so she distracts herself in the familiarity of her dad's petty pout and grouchy, slumped shoulders.
"Aren't you excited to have a new friend, Papa?" Gabriela asks softly, her hand wrapped around Miguel's thick pinky as she tries to keep up with her dad's long strides towards the carpark. "You've been kind of... lonely... since mama left. Maybe this'll be fun for you."
Gabriela is so intelligent for her age, sometimes it scares Miguel with how much of the situation with her mom she could actually comprehend. He doesn't know whether to be proud of his insightful little girl, or ashamed that she's had to learn about such grown-up things so early in life. Perhaps this playdate has come at just the right time. Miguel and Gabriela both need some friends other than each other in this awkward time.
soccer dad!miguel who tries to keep Gabi entertained for the rest of the day so that neither of them dwell on what's to come tomorrow.
Once she's showered and comfortable after her game and the hectic events following it, she and Miguel lounge around on the couch, watching their favourite telenovela together and yelling at the TV screen in unison, giggling and gasping as they eat whatever fruit is left over from Gabi's halftime snack.
soccer dad!miguel who eventually puts Gabreila to bed after their chaotic day. He crouches next to Gabriela's bed, his tall, tan, muscular frame comically towering over the princess-themed bedspread Gabi's smiling face is peeking out of.
He sings to his daughter, his voice low and soothing as he casually straightens a few of the posters of Gabi's favourite footballers hanging up on her wall. Gabriela's eyes begin to flutter, the comforting presence of her dad easing her into a state of relaxation as she whispers to him, cutting off Miguel's lullaby.
"Papa, what if the boy is mean to me tomorrow? I don't wanna mess things up for you." Gabi says worriedly, not wanting to burden Miguel just in case tomorrow's playdate isn't successful and she and Tony remain rough and mean towards one another, like they are on the field.
The thought of that idiot kid being cruel to Gabriela in his own home makes Miguel suck in a sharp breath, but he remains composed and calm as he speaks quietly, a slight smile on his face. "No te preocupes por eso, mija. You matter more to me than anything else. If the kid even tries to bully you, I'll kick his ass."
Gabriela giggles, and Miguel kisses her cheek and watches over his precious angel until she falls into a deep sleep.
soccer dad!miguel who tosses and turns all night, unable to fall asleep. The images in his mind stem from a place of abandonment and loneliness. He shouldn't be this desperate for a big, happy family, but the thought of him, Gabriela, and you together makes his brain fuzzy. He yearns for that emotional connection between him and a motherly figure towards Gabi, his ex leaving him needy for a truly happy family, one without lying and selfishness, The way you care for Tony... he knows you'd treat Gabriela so well.
And he knows you'd treat him so well, too. Miguel's thoughts drift away from what a good mom and life partner you would be as he drifts off into a hazy state of unconscious lust as he dreams of you.
In the morning, Miguel wakes up in a cold sweat, large tears in his pillowcase and a sticky wetness coating his toned thighs. On top of that, there's a relentless ache in his heart. Today needs to be perfect.
soccer dad!miguel who sorts himself out and wakes Gabi up early to tidy the apartment and prepare it for your arrival. Gabriela tidies some of the clutter in her room, while Miguel focuses on cleaning the living room and the kitchen.
As he's putting away some of the clean dishes, Miguel's sharp, red eyes glance down towards the wedding band faintly shimmering on his finger. With how quickly the divorce happened, and how busy he's been taking care of Gabriela all on his own, it had totally slipped his mind to take off the ring.
With a heavy sigh, Miguel takes off the ring that's caused him so much regret, and slips it into his pocket. Gabriela is right, he could use a new "friend".
soccer dad!miguel who straightens out his simple black t-shirt, awkwardly squirming against the weight of the fabric. He feels hot, he feels nervous. It's as if he's a teenager again, his stomach is doing backflips at the thought of having a pretty girl over. But he tries to push those desires of romance and a different kind of "reconciliation" away as he hears the doorbell ring and walks to the door.
Miguel needs to focus on making up for the mean shit he said to a beautiful young lady, and allow Gabriela to make a new friend. This was about Gabi, Tony, and Miguel's need to keep watching his daughter play the game she loves. You're just an obstacle he has to overcome to do so.
Hesitantly, Miguel opens the door with a cautious Gabriela by his side, looking down to see an uneasy smile on your stunning face, and your nephew tugging on your jacket as if he's trying to pull you away so that you can escape before it's too late. Miguel can't help but chuckle at the sight.
"Come in."
