the idea of daeron targaryen showing up in season 2 like “MY FATHER WAS SICK???” is so funny to me. like little dude was literally unaware of everything. living his life in peace when the rest of his family decided to usurp the throne.
“AEMOND LOST A WHAT???”

out of all of King Viserys’ children, Rhaenyra is obviously the most qualified/most competent to sit the Iron Throne. There is no question about that.
Excuse me what?😂 Are you fr? If yes can you please give me a reason why she's the most suitable to sit on Iron throne? Because she's rightful heir? I'm sorry but that's not good enough. We have many Targaryen rulers and they were rightful heir, but you know... they fucked up, so it's not a convincing reason.
Actually she was the only one who wasn't suitable to sit on iron throne. Like we literally saw that, she fucked up so bad in half of a year that even her sons didn't denied what she did and literally there's no Rhaenyra after her, she was a disgrace for her future generations, that's says alot.
She was so bad that she was kicked out, people were tired of her. And then Aegon come and gets everything under his control in like a week while he was physical dead.
The funniest part is that all of green kids actually have something that make them more suitable than Rhaenyra.
First we got Aegon, he's brave, resilient, determined, he's smarter than Rhaenyra, he's protective and he's mentally the strongest and unbreakable. He survived the worst things and still continue. He was literally unbreakable, even towards the end of his life he gained the strength to walk, hardly but yes.
Then we have Helaena. She was a lovely and kind woman, she claimed one of the most badass dragons in the history when she was a kid, she was so loved that people literally gone mad after her death, that's say a lot about the difference between Rhaenyra and Helaena.
Next is Aemond. Smart, brave, a dangerous fighter and he have the biggest fucking dragon that he claimed when he was a kid. Do I need to say more?
And finally Daeron. Oh lord, this guy was smart as fuck and he was the most dangerous even though he was the youngest, he's also brave and loyal to his family. And people actually liked him. He was a fairly kind, clever, and humble guy. Definitely the best among Viserys’ sons.
Now what does Rhaenyra have that makes her comparable to them? What does she have that make her better?
Her age? The fact that she's first born?
Well that's just another reason why she don't deserve to sit on the throne, because she was heir since she was 8 yet she never fit into her position as one in so many years (25 years).
On the other hand Aegon never was heir so he never tried to fit but we see how in a short time (2 years or shorter) he grows and fit his position as king, we see how he live up to his title.
I'm sorry but even the fact that she's first born make her more pathetic.
This amount of delusional is not normal. I'm telling y'all.

Helaena: We may not listen to you sometimes.
Aemond: Or respect you, as our eldest.
Daeron: And sure, we like making fun of you.
Aegon: ... But?
Aemond: There is no ‘but’, that’s it.

Viserys Targaryen Rant Part 2
Rhaenyra, the King’s Heir
After episode eight of House of the Dragon aired, there were a lot of people cheering on Viserys for his support of Rhaenyra’s claim.
Tumblr media
I will admit, the scene was heartwarming to me at first,- a frail old man on the brink of death, getting up solely to defend his daughter in front of a court that may have had grievances with her being a female-heir. That kind of fatherly support, means a lot in a misogynistic society like Westeros. But, what does that moment of support truly mean for a man that had not performed his duties as a father?
Let us refer back to episode one. This scene in particular:
Tumblr media
Aemma expresses to Viserys that she does not wish to have another pregnancy after the birth of the child she’s pregnant with.
According to Fire and Blood, Viserys and Aemma married when she was eleven years old. Their marriage was not consummated until two years later, when Aemma had flowered. Aemma in both Fire and Blood and House of the Dragon would go on to suffer multiple miscarriages, that some of Maesters suspected were due to her being bed too young.
Refocusing on the scene above, Aemma tells Viserys that Rhaenyra suspects that the unborn child might be a girl. Viserys is insistent that it is a boy.
Tumblr media
In episode one, Rhaenyra was fifteen years old. If she were male, Viserys would have started preparing her as his heir,- taking her to council meetings, send her as a messenger, etc. But he doesn’t, because he wanted a male heir. He spent almost two decades brutalizing his wife and ultimately killing her for a son. He spent almost two decades neglecting his daughter and putting her aside because he wanted a son.
Aegon, Second of his Name
Tumblr media
In the third episode of House of the Dragon, we meet Aegon, the first child between Alicent and Viserys.
For a majority of the episode, Aegon is being celebrated as it’s his name day, and he’s the king’s first born son. The King now having son would usually signal a change in succession, since for most of Westeros, sons inherit over daughters. However, by the end of the episode, Viserys’ position does not change: Rhaenyra is his rightful heir.
So what happens to Aegon, the long-awaited son?
Let’s look at some word from the screenwriter, Ryan Condal:
"Aegon is a great example of neglect and indulgence," Condal says. "This is the medieval version of the millionaire's prodigal son. His mother was 15, and his father never paid any attention to him. His father deeply, deeply loved Aemma and Rhaenyra and was [only] having [more] kids to carry on the line. He really didn't want Aegon — he wanted Baelon, the son that killed his first wife."
When we first meet Aegon he was being celebrated. After hoping for a boy for years, Viserys finally got a male heir.
We don’t get any scenes of his early childhood but we see Aegon again when he’s a teenager. He’s disinterested in most things, he’s blunt, he teases, he masturbates by the window sill, but most of all, he’s disinterested and lackadaisical.
After another time skip, we see Aegon again. He’s still disinterested in most things, he drinks, he’s a rapist, and is overall not really a good person.
Tumblr media
Within the fandom, most of the blame for the way Aegon has turned out has been directed to Alicent.
Now, Alicent being a child-bride does not excuse all of her actions, but it does explain a lot of them.
In scene where Alicent speaks with Dyana, I interpreted her reaction as one filled with shame, frustration and disappointment. All of the traits I used to describe Aegon, can be applied to Viserys. Aegon is his father’s mirror and Alicent is the only one who is trying to break it. Immediately after meeting with Dyana, she confronts Aegon, and disowns him(well, not really). Were her methods rash? Yes, it was rash and abusive, but who else was checking him? Where was Viserys during his formative years to correct this behavior?
Tumblr media
I do not condone any of his actions, but I grieve the person Aegon could’ve been if Viserys had not been his father.
Aemond, the Kinslayer
I’d reckon that Aemond’s birth wasn’t quite the spectacle that Aegon’s was, he’s the second son, who inherits nothing.
Tumblr media
When we first meet Aemond, he’s miserable. He has a very low self esteem mostly due to all of his peers having dragon, while he doesn’t. His father, Viserys was the last mount of Balerion, the Black Dread. Balerion represents the strength and history of House Targaryen in Westeros. He’s the last dragon to have come from Old Valyria, and his first rider was the man who united Westeros under one crown, Aegon the Conqueror. Viserys took Balerion on one ride, and the old dragon died shortly after. He spent all of his rule as a Targaryen king without a dragon. We get no indication that he had negative feelings about not being a dragon rider, in fact, he finds power in the dreams and prophecies of Targaryens and Old Valyria, than the man power of dragons. Had he been around to salvage any feelings of unworthiness Aemond felt when his egg didn’t hatch, or when the riderless dragons in the dragon pit rejected him, Aemond would’ve been less resentful about not having one.
Tumblr media
So in this scene here, where he claims Vhagar, and rides her for the first time, it’s a moment of legitimacy for him. He’s a Targaryen, with a dragon. He fits in with his siblings and his nephews, finally.
His claiming of Vhagar came with a price, his eye. I’m not going to delve into the mishap that took place between him, the Dragon twins and the Strong boys, because they were children. Baela and Rhaena had all right to be angry about Aemond claiming Vhagar, Luke had all right to defend his brother, Aemond had all right to react to their insults. Was he a bit insensitive ? Yes, but he’s a kid. They’re all children. They do not have the same awareness and consideration adults should have.
The aftermath of that scene is a confrontation between Rhaenyra and Alicent.
Tumblr media
There has been a lot of discourse about this scene in particular, but Emma D’arcy and Olivia Cooke’s is the one I resonate with the most :
ED: It’s such an interesting scene, right? My sympathy is fully with Alicent. On the page I was like, Well, she’s fucking right.
OC: Someone’s lost an eye.
ED: Someone’s lost an eye! I’m so amazed every time Paddy basically tells you to let it go. Simultaneously, Rhaenyra is playing quite a basic game: Lie hard, do not back down, and weaponize this word “treason.”
OC: Alicent’s being gaslit massively and she fucking explodes. In friendships or relationships, when it gets to the point where you feel you’re going mad, there’s no route out other than complete volcanic annihilation.
ED: There is something resentfully delicious in it for Rhaenyra, in that she so rarely gets definitively the backing of her father. Early on, she loses both her best friend and her father because they get married. These moments where she gets publicly chosen, and chosen instead of you — there’s a really violent quality of vengeance for her.
No Alicent should not have asked for a five year old’s eye. But her son, has just lost one. And his father, is more focused on the fact that his grandchildren were called bastards. Now I’m not discounting the fact that Westeros discriminates against bastards, but that could have been addressed afterwards. Viserys spent the entire scene promising his court that they’d lose a tongue for even uttering a word about his grandsons, while his son is sitting in a chair with his eye in front him on a plate. Aemond now has to learn how to maneuver around with one of his five senses damaged. (Honestly, I think a few scenes with Aemond struggling a bit with this would’ve been great).
If Viserys had just acknowledged Aemond’s detriment in that scene, maybe give him some reassurance, comfort, literally anything, he wouldn’t have remained vengeful years after the incident.
Helaena, the Dragon Dreamer
Tumblr media
The parenting of Helaena is the best representation of Viserys and Alicent’s dynamics with their kids,- Alicent struggling to connect with her child, while Viserys the parent who would’ve had a better shot at connection is nowhere to be found.
Helaena has correctly predicted several events in House of the Dragon so far, the loss of Aemond’s eye being the price of his dragon, Meleys bursting from beneath the dragon pit, and the Dance of the Dragons. The thing is, no one in universe is paying her any mind. The weight of prophecies in ASOIAF is a topic that George likes to explore, and he’s given us a few tragic characters like Rhaegar, who met their doom by interpreting a prophecy ‘incorrectly’.
Helaena is a dragon dreamer. She’s also a dragon rider, but we have no scenes with her on Dreamfyre. She represents the more mystical part of House Targaryen, as she possesses the power that prevented them from the Doom. Yet her father, who is a deeply interested in these aspects of being Targaryen, doesn’t speak to her about these things.
If Viserys had made an attempt to understand or simply bond with his daughter, none of the atrocities his family faced would have happened the way it did.
My sympathy for Team Green stems from the fact that literally every single one of them would’ve been way better people if not for Viserys.

Do you‐uhh.
Do you ever think that the Green kids resent Alicent for being on Rhaenyra's side?
Because um. Obviously watching their gaslit, grief-stricken mother charging and making the Princess bleed for Aemond loosing an eye with no justice is harrowing and incredible and terrifying. (Our mother loves us! She's begging for our Father to care! She slashed the Princess! She does love us!) And then years later Alicent is telling Aegon to spare Rhaenyra, holding Rhaenyra's arm infront of them at supper.
Did they ever feel as if they were the late ones? The invaders? Do you think they felt as if it was a constant fight for their Mother's affections? Can you imagine the reproach they mustve felt, knowing that they were unwanted (What have I done but what was expected of me?) watching their mother raise hell for them, then always looking around for one of the objects of their agony?

This idea was inspired by @floatyflowers blog.
You are the precious Princess of House Targaryen. You are the first and only child of Daemon Targaryen and Rhae Royce. Both are perfect parents for you. You have silver-colored curly hair that reaches down to your back, smooth pale skin, expressive eyes, one gray and the other violet, and a full, curved body. You are very close with your cousin, Crown Prince Rhaegel, your best friend. You see him as the best cousin and friend. However, he sees you as a lover. He believes the two of you were made for each other. King Viserys and Queen Aemma love you very much. They see you as the girl they never had. Rhaegel is very determined to keep other men away from you. The pure feelings he has had for you since his adolescence are replaced by obsessive and dark feelings after a while. You two like to go on rides with your dragons together. Rhaegel's male dragon Syrax and your female dragon Saphira are like a married couple. He learns that Otto is making plans to marry his daughter (Alicent) to him. Alicent is just a friend to him. Otto decides to take action before starting his plan. He explains to his family that he wants to marry you. The King and Queen welcome this request. He talks to Daemon and Rhae about it. All that remains is to hear your opinion. Before you leave your room to go to dinner with your family, Rhaegel is visiting. Honestly, you're mad at him for doing such a thing without telling you. Rhaegel tells you everything. Honestly, you know the King's hand is cunning enough to do such a thing. Rhaegel gets on her knees in front of you. Because you care so much for your cousin, you give him a hug and comfort him. You say you will agree to marry because you can't stand her being so miserable. After all, you think that marrying your cousin would be a better choice than marrying a man you've never met. Your wedding is taking place soon. The wedding is very ostentatious and organized with no expense spared. Otto is not at all happy with this decision. Rhaegel is determined to get rid of him soon. After getting married, Rhaegel begins to show her tendencies. He won't let you leave the palace and ride your dragon when he's not with you. She says she did everything for you when you confronted her about it. Rhaegel is trying hard to get you pregnant. He doesn't listen to you even if you say it's too early for the child at first. Rhaegel takes care of you every single pregnancy. It gives him great pleasure to see you puffing up with his baby. Rhaegel would never raise a hand or insult you. His weapon is manipulation. Your marriage is blessed with seven healthy children. Rhaegel is a good father to your children. Rhaegel is crowned King after King Viserys abdicates earlier. He never hesitates to kill others for you. When it comes to you, Rhaegel is passionate about assassination, threats, blackmail, torture and killing. It pampers you and your children to the fullest. He is a very devoted husband to you. You can ask anything from him. But never ask to break up with him. The eggs that Syrax and Saphire have together are laid in their cribs when your children are born. Not only does Aemond's egg hatch. Your husband helps your son Aemond bond with Vermithor. Being stuck with your husband Rhaegel isn't all that bad in a way. It allows you to correspond with your mother and relatives and let them visit you.

appearance headcanons for younger hotd generation
---------------------
• jacaerys has an aquiline nose and purple eyes, like his mother. there is little time you will see him dressed in anything other than a plain grey or brown training coat or riding gear, and some ladies at court jest that even vermax is better dressed than him. it does have a certain charm to it, however, and who could resist those beautiful purple eyes?
• lucerys has some white streaks in his curls, and he has fluffier hair than his brothers. he often dresses rather plainly, with deep velaryon blues and silver scarves that bring out his greyish-fawn eyes. he tries to stay as well groomed as possible, but by the end of the day rhaenyra is surprised if he doesn't have sand on his head and water in his coat.
• joffrey looks the least like rhaenyra, but he's the reflection of harwin. his clothes are often simple garments, black pads for silver training armour he uses while sparring with the small folk children of dragonstone. daeron gave him a dragon pin for his seventh birthday, and he wears it everywhere.
• baela is a spectacle. she's stylish, but in the "my armor is decorated with rubies and silver" sort of way. her hair is often braided into cornrows or buns, while moondancers saddle is often garnished with emeralds and sapphires, and the mixed banners of her parent houses.
• rhaena loves luxury. she ADORES luxury. gold and silver hair rings looped in her braids, chokers with small rhinestones and big diamonds, velvet dresses with fronted myrish lace; anything fashion, rhaena has. the others usually come to her for fashion designs and rightfully so.
• helaena likes simple chic. long, fitted lavender dresses with veiled silver tiaras. bejeweled bodices and soft, pastel colours. she hates the heavy queens crown, but loves small circlets with little gems like topaz and rubies. she also adores cloaks and capes, and feels like she can hide in them when she wants to.
• daeron doesn't have white hair. no, I think he has light auburn, just like his mother! he's also the favorite, and due to being raised in oldtown, often dresses in Hightower grey. sometimes a light, cheerful mint or deep green as well. tessarion is often adorned in these colours as well, even down to the design of her saddle.
• aegon dresses like a rat bffr everyone
• aemond has green hightower eyes (or, well, eye) and takes advantage of that. black suits and high ponytails are common, as well as emerald clips and black pearl headbands. he's very fashionable, unbeknownst to most that see him at first. Vhagar is often bejeweled as well; he can't have her looking ugly in front of the most beautiful dragon in the realm.

If you had the chance to change something about the dance of the dragons (TV show or book), what would it be? For example, how a character dies, which team a house is on,or an entire character personally. How would you change it to make the story better, in your opinion?♥️🖤💙💚
Damn
That's a good question. I'm not sure if I would change anything about the book, BUT there are SO many things I would change about the show.
1. Rhaenyra and Alicent's friendship - I really loved them being friends on the show, but the book portrays something completely different. I would have loved to see them as they were in the book. I really don't know why they changed that, but I didn't really mind.
2. We NEED more Baela and Rhaena scenes, and I would definitely change their ugly wigs. Please give them something better.
3. OH, AND ALSO, I REALLY need Alicole to happen (please, please, please).
4. This might be the only thing I would change about both the books and the show - I'd have Jaehaera live and be the mother to Aegon III's kids. The way she died was completely unnecessary and brutal. I DO NOT WANT TO SEE IT.
5. WHY DID I NOT SEE AEGON RIDING SUNFYRE YET?! RAAAAAHHH, I WAS SUPPOSED TO SEE AEGON RIDING SUNFYRE AND HAELENA RIDING DREAMFYRE IN EP10. IF I DON'T SEE AEGON RIDING SUNFYRE IN THE FIRST 5 MILLISECONDS OF S2EP1, I'M NEVER WATCHING HOTD AGAIN. MAKE IT HAPPEN!
6. The whole Rhaenys and Meleys scene was like what?! It NEEDS TO BE CHANGED IMMEDIATELY. The creators wanted a badass dragon scene for the end so bad, and the only thing they created was a scene that DID NOT make sense. The fact that Meleys burst through the floor with Rhaenys on her back and Rhaenys didn't even get the smallest scratch is crazy and such bad writing. I loved Aegon's coronation so much, and the fact that it had to be ruined by this scene is sad.
7. DAEROOOOOOOON WHERE ARE YOU, screaming crying. I'm starting to have feeling they are just gonna pretend that Daeron doesn't exist, they are gonna completely cut him out

Dragon-Shifter Rhaenicent AU Lore
Original AU is this post for context
Despite the fact that they had come to Dragonstone two hundred years following the Doom of Valyria, the name Targaryen was not one known by the people of Westeros. House Targaryen was the only family of dragonlords to escape the Doom with the blood running through their veins giving them the ability to change from man to dragon. The people of Westeros had seen dragons flying above the sky on the island but no one dared to get close. Over time, that became the story, dragons lived on the isolated island. No men. Just dragons.
The humans in Westeros have thus given names to the dragons they have spotted over the years, unaware of the other form laying in wait underneath the scales.
Tumblr media
Rhaenyra Targaryen is the eldest of her father, Viserys, the self-proclaimed king of Dragonstone. Her mother died in childbirth when she was quite young. Her father's hasty marriage only a few months later caused her to run away, during this period many humans reported sightings of her near Oldtown. The realm knows her as a somewhat small curious yellow dragon named Syrax.
Tumblr media
Aegon Targaryen is the eldest son of Viserys, king of Dragonstone. He and his younger siblings are the product of Viserys' second marriage to a human woman. While rare, these unions would take place if no other female dragons were alive. Aegon has rarely flown to the seven kingdoms in years after his mother's death. The realm knows him only as a beautiful golden dragon named Sunfyre.
Tumblr media
Helaena Targaryen is the second daughter of Viserys Targaryen of Dragonstone. While her mother was human, Helaena is the only Targaryen who has the gift of prophecy, a rare but valued trait in dragons, though there are times she keeps these prophecies to herself for unknown reasons. The realm knows her as a quiet pale blue dragon named Dreamfyre.
Tumblr media
Aemond Targaryen is the second son of the king of Dragonstone, Viserys. During a flight, a then-young Aemond was attacked and shot in the eye with an arrow, the injury left him without an eye in his human form, as a dragon he kept his eye intact but is still blind in it. The people of the realm fear him as a massive disgruntled dragon named Vhagar.
Tumblr media
Daeron Targaryen is the youngest child of King Viserys Targaryen. Unlike his siblings, he doesn't remember his human mother and this fuels his curiosity about humans. He and his half-sister Rhaenyra venture to the realm most often compared to the others in House Targaryen. Humans know him as the swift cobalt blue dragon, Tessarion.
Tumblr media
Viserys Targaryen is the fifth king of the Targaryen dynasty in Dragonstone, while his ancestors came two centuries ago they had not cemented themselves into the world of man until Aegon the 1st. Viserys took the Lady Aemma to wed but following her death in childbirth, he swiftly stole away a lady from the reach to marry. The decision came at the cost of his relationship with his eldest child, Rhaenyra, and the death of his second wife after years of being miserable, cost him his relationship with his other children. He has not been named by the realm as he has not been spotted by humans.

Helaena x best friend fem reader
The reader loves to tease the Helaena and eventually after teasing her she passionately kisses her in a abandoned courtyard…. Fluff!!!
Note: Short and sweet 😁
A Teaser
Tumblr media
Pairing: Helaena Targaryen x Fem!reader
Masterlist (requests are currently open for now)
"Please stop."
You looked at your best friend Helaena who was sitting beside you on the bench at the courtyard. It was just the two of you at the moment since Helaena let her guard the time away so she could spend some time alone with you outside.
Not everyone can say their best friend is a princess, you were her lady-in-wait, the two of you known each other since you were little.
And according to her, you're a tease.
"Stop what?" you asked after stopping biting your lower lip.
Helaena hesitated for a moment until she pointed at your face, "That."
"My face?" you asked as you raised an eyebrow.
Helaena let out a sigh, rolling her eyes, "You biting your lip again."
You smirked, "Why are you looking at my lips?" you asked.
Alright, you are a tease.
Helaena didn't answer and looked away, letting out a breath. "So," you started, "How is your charming brother?"
"Aemond is alright," she said, thinking you were talking about her younger brother. "He should be at the library."
You rolled your eyes, "I meant the charming brother. As if the annoying one."
"Oh," she muttered and shrugged, "Aegon is... well, Aegon."
You hummed, "Annoying? Cold hearted? That sort?"
Helaena let a small smile slip on her lips before looking around at the empty looking area. "To be honest... your mother had lost her mind when she married the two of you," you said.
"Shh," she whispered as she looked at you and grabbed your hand in hers. "What is someone hear you saying something like that at the Queen?"
"Then she will know what I think of her in that matter," you muttered. "You deserve better than Aegon." You looked away, "She should have married you to Aemond, he's a better man than him."
"I think my mother wants you to marry Aemond," Helaena said, and you quickly looked at her with wide eyes. She nodded, "She thinks you are suited for him."
"Just because I can get along with him?" you suggested as you raised an eyebrow. "You and I are even much better match, don't you think?"
Helaena chuckled softly, blushing a little, "Perhaps."
You both stared at each other for a moment. You bit your lower lip again as you looked away. "You doing it again," she said.
You chuckled and smirked as you looked at her, "What would you do about it?" you teased.
Your smirk disappeared as she leaned forward quickly and pressed her lips against yours. But then she quickly moved away.
"That," she said with confidence in her voice.
You stared at her for a second longer and then moved forward, kissing her on the lips.
After a few moments of kissing, you both pulled away but then leaned back in, turning to kiss passionately for a little longer.
The two of you pulled away, trying to capture your breaths. "You're a tease," she muttered, cheeks pink.
You let out a breathless chuckle but then leaned back to kiss her softly on the lips again, feeling her smiling against your lips.
