Hiii. Can I get some headcanon or thoughts on Barok van Zieks with a significant other that's significantly shorter than him? I was looking at the wiki and he's 6'4", which is tall for today's standards but absolutely BONKERS for the time period

He is a tall bloke isn’t he, I mean the average height for English men in 1900 was like 5’5” so he’s absolutely been drinking all of the tall juice and leaving none for anybody else. I’ve made S/O 5’2” for these headcanons and I even used a height comparison website to make up a nifty height comparison which I will provide here for your perusal. I’m pretty short myself so I can definitely relate to all of these but they might be pretty biased towards someone who gets stuff like this happen to them because they are short though 😅😅😅

🍷Barok van Zieks🍷

🍷 He’s fiercely protective in any relationship, however he’ll be especially more protective with a smaller S/O because anyone could hurt them to get at him and they would be in more danger than he would be so he’s going to keep them close as much as possible so he can keep a watchful eye on them.

🍷 I think that Barok would find the height difference really quite cute, but I don’t think he’d wanna be TOO obnoxious about it (in public at least). He has a certain image to uphold and he wouldn’t want any old rabble to see him at his most vulnerable so from the outside at least, he’s going to act like this isn’t anything too life-changing, but in private it will be a different matter.

🍷 He’d wrap his arms around their shoulders and rest his chin on the top of their head (although he would have to bend down to do this properly so he’d only ever do this in private). This would be prime time for S/O to tilt their head up and kiss the underside of his jaw because it would absolutely make him blush.

🍷When S/O talks to people, he might find himself towering over them and whoever they’re talking to, he doesn’t even intend to come off as threatening but the way he towers over S/O as the two of them go about their day definitely dissuades any unsavoury characters from approaching them.

🍷 When it comes to giving affection, sometimes he’ll torment S/O by saying that if they want a kiss, they’ll have to find some way to reach. But after a while, he’ll swoop down to give them a peck on the cheek, or if they are lucky, he’ll pick them up so they can reach. But he’d absolutely have some sort of comment to make about it, just to torment them a bit. “How quaint...you don’t seem to be able to reach me. It seems that you are just a tiny little lamb.”

🍷 Okay but I’m very much obsessed with the idea that Barok would call S/O a lamb. (Definitely not based on that extra content in DGS that involves a voiced line where he says “the quintessential look of a sacrificial lamb” no sir not me 👀👀👀)

🍷 He’d pull that nickname out at random, mostly in order to further fluster S/O while they are trying to reach him in order to give him affection.

🍷 S/O would probably have to ask Barok if they wanted to be carried somewhere, it’s not as if he doesn’t want to but he would want to maintain a more proper disposition so unless S/O asked him themselves, he wouldn’t go out of his way to pick them up out of the blue.
