In time, you will know the tragic extent of my failings.
Beat Darkest Dungeon for the first time, drew my Heir(ess) and Ancestor OCs for that estate to celebrate!!

Fourth artfight attack of @pupspuppet's Caspian for an Alayna drawing from last year! I love her character concept and it was fun to play around with the eye shine in particular lol

So why is the Flagellant a radioactive zombie freak now. Is that ever explained. What did he do to himself between games. He went too far. His fit too mid. His swag too pious. His smoke too repentant. They turned him into a skelebone. I didn't ask questions about the scholarly dude who narrates because dead zombie narrators are a fixture of DD at this point. The Heir fucked up big time clearly! How many unkillable eldritch planet-hearts do you have to beat up to get the job done around here? They have to be soooo embarrassed when they go to the next city over and it's overrun and on fire with screeching skinless cultists.

This gang of queers died so embarrassingly I got second-hand cringe from it.

Excluding the Darkest Dungeon and the DLC areas, the boss that is the greatest foil to the Heir is hands down Brigand Vvulf: - Instead of rebuilding and reclaming the Hamlet, he tries to take something that is not his and destroy it. - While the Heir works from the shadows and orchestrates the missions, Vvulf jumps head first into action alongside his men. - Similarly, Vvulf guards every single one of the bandits on his fight. The Heir, on the other side, is an awful boss who, without qualms, sends their mercenaries on missions with minimal preparation, sends them to stressful situations, sees them suffering from illness and does nothing about it or perhaps even actively tries to get them sick, or even hires newbies with the sole intention of sending them to their death. - The similarities expand to their mercenaries (workers? we don't know why these people are with Vvulf). The Heir's mercenaries come to the Hamlet thinking that they've hit rock bottom and hoping to win something, be it fame, catharsis, money, redemption etc, or at the very least a noble death. The brigands know damn well that they've taken the low road and have no regrets or hallucinations about it, or else they wouldn't agree to join the raid.

I redesigned my gworl (though I don't think I posted the original here at all? It's not very good anyways oh well)
More about her under the cut!
She comes off as a bit of a naive and sheltered noble when she first arrives in the Hamlet, her bubbly demeanor and various eccentricities like claiming to hear her very much dead Ancestor talking to her exacerbating that image even more so. Truthfully, there's more to her than what appears. Despite her reputation as a callow and overly enthusiastic noble who is out of touch with the Hamlet's struggling people (a statement only half-true), she displays a hidden shrewdness that keeps the Hamlet from going bankrupt and her heroes from getting killed in the battle: a trait that belies something more deeper than a vapid and air headed aristocrat.
Her status as her grandfather's favorite child has owed her a bit more than just her inheritance of the Estate. His dotings extended to her an extensive knowledge and interest in the occult as he cultivated that love within her during the vacations her family used to take to the Estate in her youth, memories that she looks on very fondly to. However, her familiarity with the occult has also led her to handling it with some recklessness; though she is truly very familiar with it, she also doesn't seem to understand the weight it holds.
In short, she is a very silly girl who does taxes and reads about ancient forbidden lore while lying in her bed like a schoolgirl and her feet kicking up in the air.
