Not present are the four students who played ensemble kittens in the first act. (They were adorable to watch and did a great job.)
I can't say enough good things about the cast - they were so much fun to watch. I'm so glad that Harry Francis and Caitlin Bond were able to return to their roles and perform them once more after being so abruptly cut off in 2020.
Congratulations to all involved and thanks for a great time at the theater.

Theatre Ventures, Crossroads Live y Ricardo Marques.
SOBRE THE TIME TRAVELLER’S WIFE:

Brutal London | Zupagrafika
Brutal London is a fun book through London’s post-war brutalist architecture that allows you to recreate some of its most interesting and controversial concrete structures, including Alexandra Road Estate, National Theatre, Robin Hood Gardens, Barbican Estate, Balfron Tower and Space House.
Published in 2015 by Zupagrafika, an independent publisher and design studio established in 2012 by David Navarro and Martyna Sobecka. The studio is based in Poland and has a special affinity with Polish Poster School, post-war modernist architecture, and paper.
The first part of the book features a foreword by Norman Foster and looks at the significance of these buildings with a short chapter on each, complete with texts by John Grindrod, author of Concretopia and photos by Peter Chadwick, author of This Brutal World. It continues with a series of illustrated buildings to be found around the districts of Camden, Southwark, Tower Hamlet, Roehampton and City of London.
Printed on heavy card stock, you can detach and construct both iconic brutalist structures, such as Balfron Tower, Barbican Estate, and National Theatre, as well as social council estates, like Robin Hood Gardens and Aylesbury Estate doomed to premature demolition.

Cultivate presents Next (Au Suivant) – An on-line art exhibition…
Tumblr media
Welcome to Next, This time we’ll let the art do the talking first rather than clutter the top of the page with words or introductions, the intro is down at the bottom of the page, under the art and those oh so vital links. Please do scroll to the foot of the page for those all important links to all the artists, the links are the vital things…
Please click on an image to enlarge it or to run the slide show (and do please view it all on a decent sized monitor please, something more than a phone for gawdsake, surely the art deserves more than a tiny phone…)
We would really like to think, or maybe hope, just as we said last time, that it as simple as us just saying hey, here’s some art and here’s the links to the artists, off you go. We really would like to think it was that simple. This is the 15th on-line exhibition from Cultivate and we think, if we’ve counted it right, the 164th Cultivate art show in all. Once again this show is brought to you by Cultivate founders Sean Worrall and Emma Harvey, once again we invited 36 of our fellow artists to join us and once again we invite you to explore art and artists gathered from all over the land and indeed the globe. Artists from London, from all over the UK, from Poland, from Turkey, Brazil, Bulgaria, from the USA, from South Wales Manchester, Norfolk, from all over the place.
We like putting these shows together, we said this last time, it forces us to look at other people’s art a little more, it makes us explore people just a little more, we’re forced to get to know the artists who make the art just a little more than we probably would. Art excites and I hope this show does. It doesn’t really matter about the detail here, it doesn’t matter about the size or if the painting is in oil or the size of the print, not right here, not in terms of this show, for this is on on-line show, everything is flat, everything is the same size, the important thing here is that you react, that you think “oh, she looks like an exciting artist” or “I like what he’s doing, let me hit the link and find out more” – go follow their social media feeds, get on mailing lists and maybe see their art for real at some point in the future if you get a chance. This is about connecting things, connecting people, cross-pollination, I do hope this show is as simple as that. hopefully it really is as simple as that? Alright? Next? Shall we do it again next month? (sw)
LINKS TO THE ARTISTS, do please use those links now, that is the real point here, the pointing you in the direction of some exciting artists we hope you will go explore and connect with…
ALEX MANEA ANNABEL TILLEY ANNABEL WALKER ANNA-LISE HORSLEY ARTHUR ROBERTS BEN FENTON DELTA NA DOMINIKA SURMACZ ELOISE GOVIER EMMA HARVEY FIONA STIRLING GLENDA ZEPPA JEREMY MORGAN JESS PARRY KATHY BRUCE LAINE TOMKINSON LETICIA BARRETO LISA V. ROBINSON LORRAINE WHELAN MADELEINE STRINDBERG MARBLEU MARK BURRELL MARK PURVES MATT DOSA MELIKE MELISSA WRAXALL MICHELLE FIRMENT REID MILA RACZKOWSKA MONIKA LORINCOVA MONSUR AWOTUNDE NICK GRINDROD PATRICIA FIGUEIREDO RAFAL PODSOBINSKI SARAH LOUISE HAWKINS SARAH STRACHAN SEAN WORRALL SHANNON VERTIGAN TAMIR DAVID
And that was it, a ninth on-line show during these strange locked-down times we’e hopefully coming out of now.  A big big thanks to anyone and everyone who has visited the exhibition, a big big thanks to all involved in the show. None of the artists were charged a submission fee or anything else, everything here was done for free, all our time and effort.
And if you do feel like making a small donation – We bring all this art, music and underculture to you for free, we really don’t want to clutter up our pages with annoying adverts, no one wants that, but it does take up a lot of time, hours and hours of time. If you should feel like supporting Organ/Cultivate (for it is one in the same) by making a small donation to help keep all this flowing that would be delightful, thank you.
Coming next? Well maybe these shows are monthly now, there has now been one in January, February, March anw April, maybe we”ll do it again in May? Now if only the damn aloof elitist Arts Couuncil would see thia as being worthy of actual support, they do like ot tell us in priviate how valued it all is. Seems officially they prefer thosew who talk it to those of us who actually walk it. Let’s Create?

Requirements for Industry
There are several general requirements for auditions that must be obeyed and stuck to in order to impress the panel and get the job. Some of these requirements include; Being prepared, being in good voice, knowing the show well enough, give yourself time to learn audition material, never audition without the music or a Capella, if you make a mistake do not let them know, have properly prepared sheet music taped together so the pianist doesn’t have to flick through pages, don’t apologise- be professional, dress smart/casual and most of all be confident in yourself. It is crucial to know these requirements in order to perform the best during an audition and make a lasting impression on the panel. (Christ. P, 2015)
After doing some research into agents requirements, one of the things I found in all areas is that it is crucial to be a triple threat, which means being exceptional at all three areas of musical theatre; acting, singing and dancing. As more and more graduates come out into the world of work agents and casting directors are always looking for the creme of the crop and over the past few years people have also started to learn an instrument as a fourth component towards the new quadruple threat. It is very rare to audition for a show and be cast the main role straight away, as most people in the industry start small as ensemble or understudy and work their way up through shows by gaining trust of casting directors and making a name for yourself. That is why it is absolutely crucial to sell yourself online through websites and social media in the best way possible to expand your audience and make an impact on an agent or director. Nowadays being a triple threat isn't enough, you now need a high social media presence and something else to offer. (The Stage, 2016)
There are many Casting Directors around that are always looking for fresh young talent, and some of these include David Grindrod, Laura Donnelly, Hannah Miller, Matilda James, Wendy Spon, Nadine Rennie, Jerry Knight-Smith and Alastair Coomer.
While you don’t need to stalk a CD, it can be extremely helpful for an aspiring actor to be aware of top casting directors in the city in order to look out for roles they are casting and to keep up with the latest information.
On top of that, building good relationships with casting directors are one the key aspects to advancing in this industry. As it has been said many times before, especially for actors with no experience, it’s all about who you know and who knows you if you’re looking to climb the ladder in the entertainment business. (Acting in London, 2019)

SOBRE THE TIME TRAVELLER’S WIFE:

Tumblr media Tumblr media
