It's not just a Czech thing, it's been a staple in various European leagues for decades!

WHAT -> essentially a step-up from the regular round of applause across the rink

WHY -> to thank fans for their support

There are some differences how it plays out across teams. You may get the whole squad, a group, or a player of the match [chosen by fans] back out. Then they'll either be told what to do by the crowd or come up with their own little show.

Goalies being in high demand is how you get so many images/videos of them doing barrel rolls, though it can take many forms.

firing your coach just before the playoffs because you lost like three games in a row (even tho you’re still first in the league) and then firing another coach during the final series??? what was the strategy???

I'm extremely sorry for the long message i sent privately but if you wanna share your opinion I'll love to hear that!! And ofcourse i can be wrong but it was just my observation or something I've observed for a long time since being here-

Well I don’t read energies to know about someone’s mind when they send an ask but sometimes I just feel a « ick » when it does not sound right. But it could be me overthinking too so…

I heard about that, that some people wish that and even wish for the worst. It is so scary 😰 I don’t have words for them nor for his future spouse… it is however very, very, VERY concerning and they should seek a therapist. It will do good for them emotionally and mentally speaking.

The thing is, they waste their life and they still don’t understand that as they are quite many to with it, it won’t ever work because then Del1 will hope that his future spouse dies but Del2 wishes to be his future spouse while Del3 wishes for Jungkook to stay single and lonely forever and at the same time Del4 hopes for him to settle with x celebrity. How is that supposed to work if there are too many things contradicting each other and they put their own selves in troubles? It is like a noose.

That is very stupid… maybe seeking a neurologist too may help.

what teams/sports leagues outside north america would be at the top of your list to go to games for if you were traveling?

Finished writing my psychologically damaging emails and got a FREE donut at the mediocre donut place (always tip well and be polite folks) so now I have two donuts!!

My top team I want to see outside of North America if I am ever able to travel again is West Ham because loml @bakingblues has been talking them up since literally the first time I met her and I am desperate to see them in action. She says they are a bad football team but they just won a championship (I am unclear which one) so they can't be that bad!! I want to see the bubbles team.

The chances of me ever making it to Australia are very slim but I would love to go an AIHL pride game because they really go hard. My beloved @paintingtheice is a Melbourne Mustangs fan and I think they could explain the Mustangs narrative well.

I would also like to see a Del or Del2 game because resident European hockey hypeman and general joy to have on the dash @hockey-related has done a great job of selling the league...I would really like to see the Dresdner Eislöwen because I love Butterfly Goalie, but really I think any game would be fun.

I would like to see a Finnish baseball game with my sister because she said she went and had the worst time of her life trying to understand it and left halfway through because she got so stressed out by how different it is from American baseball. So I would like to have that experience with her and her husband as well.

And finally, this is in North America, but the other loml @mysticaltramping told me that the Bay Area just got a cricket team called the San Francisco Unicorns!!! I don't understand cricket so I would like to go with her because she is very knowledgeable. She says that the Unicorns have a lot of really good players but unfortunately the entire league in playing in Texas and North Carolina which is. why. but maybe someday the Unicorns will play in San Francisco and Ella can come and explain cricket to me.

Your hockey posts have been intriguing me but I know nothing about hockey! Who's your favourite player/team? What do you like best about it? Have you been to many games? Okay, this is nice ask week and not ask too many questions so I'll leave it there, lol. ❤️🏒

I fucking LOVE talking about hockey so ask away as much as you want!!!

I have a couple of favorite teams and players, let's divide them by leagues.

The NHL aka the league in North America that plays in both the US and Canada:

Fav teams: Chicago Blackhawks (although it pains me to still say that), Dallas Stars Fav players: Jonathan Toews (taking a year off because of his health right now) & Patrick Kane (had hip surgery and is on no team right now) both used to be Blackhawks; Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin both Dallas Stars (if you have read Magnetic North by @paperstorm they both make an appearance and Andie nailed their characterization (shameless MN plug as always)); Leon Draisaitl (player from my hometown), Dominik Kahn (used to be a Blackhawk, plays in Switzerland now)

The DEL aka the German hockey league

Fav team: Cologne Sharks, obviously my hometown team Fav players: Sebastian Uvira (used to be a Shark, plays in Schwenningen now), Travis Turnbull (retired at the end of last season), I was so pissed last season because Uvi wasn't here anymore that I refused to choose a new favorite, this season the favorites chose me (I had NO part in this) and they are Justin Schütz (sunshine boy) and Brady Austin & Alexandre Grenier (the hot Canadian hockey twins (they're obv not actually twins)), I nearly forgot Nick Latta (Schatzi used to play for the Sharks, now plays in the DEL2)

Onto the next question...

I love everything about it, but mostly that there is just SO MUCH HAPPENING in a game. It's fast paced, there's usually lot's of goals, there's fights, it's just really fucking entertaining imo (and way too fucking nerve-wracking on a regular basis)

The hockey butts are a perk too 😉

I have been to.............................

A FUCK TON of games!!! Don't ask me to count, because I've had a season ticket for the Sharks on and off since the 2013/2014 season, I go to a couple away games a season usually, the World Cup was in Cologne in 2017 and I went to way too many games and I've been to games in the NHL and once a game in Switzerland. (I have smuggled my way into press territory in Switzerland and at a couple of Sharks games and taken photos from ice level during the game and most notably at the final of the hockey World Cup 🤫)
