#dhawan!master imagine
Note
Okay, I have a request idea if thats okay. Could I please request a Dhawan!Master x reader where master has found a special plant/ flower or something which alters the perceptions of the person. (Say if an enemy uses it on the victim then the enemy becomes the victims friend (or even more) and they plan to use it on the reader and while it's working/ being used. The reader sees and feels a lavender haze on them and they want more of it. (I had to sneak in a Taylor swift reference)
I'm absolutely obssessed with this idea!! I leaned into the taylor swift reference you slipped in, hence the title lol. writing this was so much fun, I really hope you like it! <3
I feel a lavender haze creepin' up on me (Dhawan! Master x reader)
Warnings: drugging/altering ones brain chemistry via a lavender plant, I think that's about it
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Master was infatuated with you, even though he knew he shouldn't be. For starters, you were a companion to the Doctor, his best enemy; not to mention the fact that you despised him.
He tried to forget about you, but he just couldn't. Something about you seemed to draw him in and left him wanting more. And since you would never just up and leave the Doctor for him, he'd have to resort to other measures to get your attention.
Kidnapping you was an obvious first choice, but he didn't need you hating him more than you already did. While he'd love to just use his hypnosis on you and be done with it, the Doctor had gone to great lengths in order to protect your mind from his persuasions, so he'd have to take a more hands on approach.
He frantically flipped through one of the several books he owned on intergalactic flora, hoping he could find something to help. It was then he stumbled upon something that was akin to a lavender flower, except it could reverse the chemistry of one's brain and make them feel the opposite of what they'd initially felt for whoever gave them the plant.
A devious grin spread across his face as the wheels started to turn in his mind. This was exactly what he needed.
You, meanwhile, were strolling casually throughout a garden full of the exact same plant. The Doctor had to land the TARDIS for repairs, so she'd encouraged you to explore the nearby area while she got them done.
A shiver went down your spine as you suddenly got the feeling that you were being watched. Frowning, you turned and looked behind you but saw no one there. You figured it was just the wind or perhaps a local critter. Until you turned back around to find yourself face to face with none other than the Master himself.
"Oh, great. It's you," you grumbled while rolling your eyes. The Master tried not to appear upset, although he was clearly disappointed you had that kind of lackluster reaction to seeing him.
"Yes, it's me, indeed." He flashed you a bright, charming smile, which did nothing to get rid of the unimpressed look on your face.
"What do you want?" You asked bluntly in an irritated tone, crossing your arms over your chest as you glared at him.
His ego deflated some, but he pushed down his feelings as he presented a lavender bouquet to you. "These are for you, my dear. Here, take them."
You glanced down at the bunch of plants, narrowing your eyes at them suspiciously. "Why? What're giving me these for?"
This was proving to be a tad bit more difficult than he thought. The Master was used to people falling for his charms instantly, but they just didn't seem to work on you.
"I'm giving them to you because a beautiful person deserves beautiful things," he said flirtatiously, doing his best to hide his desperation. He couldn't force you to take them from him: the plant's magical and scientific properties would only activate if you willingly accepted the offer.
You thought he looked a tad bit pathetic, in all honesty. It kind of made you feel bad for him. "If I take these, will you finally leave me alone?" You asked in an exasperated manner.
Eagering nodding his head, The Master grinned. "Of course, darling. Anything for you." It was hard to miss the way you rolled your eyes at him for a second time, but he wouldn't have to worry about your disinterest for much longer.
"Fine." You snatched the bouquet from him, and almost immediately after the power of the plant started to take affect. Your eyes became glazed over as you watched him, feelings blooming in your chest that you'd never felt before.
His eyes were such a gorgeous shade of brown, and with the way his lips looked, all you wanted to do was kiss him. "Wh- Whoa," you muttered to yourself as you deeply inhaled the intoxicating scent of the bouquet in front of you.
Forget seeing through rose colored glasses, right about now you were seeing through lavender lenses. A hazy feeling started to creep up over you as your vision dimmed.
"Are you alright, my dear?" He asked with slight concern, not anticipating the effects of the plant to act so quickly or be so strong.
"You're really amazing, did you know that?" Your voice was a tad bit slurred, almost as though you were tipsy from alcohol. In you opinion, being drunk on the love you felt for him was much better.
The Master beamed with pride as he reached out and took your hand in his, pulling you in close. "Of course I do. You're just as wonderful, might I add."
You let out a giddy laugh in response, your eyes having a purple tint to them on top of their now cloudy look. "We should do something together, just the two of us."
His entire face lit up with joy as he finally had to opportunity to spend time with you in a way that didn't involve you hurling insults at him nonstop. "My dear, I'd love nothing more."
He led you back to his TARDIS, filled with excitement over the idea of you finally wanting him just as much as he did you. It would be quite the surprise for the Doctor when she returned to find her companion had parted ways with her, too awestruck by the feeling of a lavender haze all around them to care.

end notes: I probably shouldn't enjoy writing fics involving the reader being drugged as much as I do lmao

Imagine not liking the Doctor’s plan to work with Agent O...
“Oh! You’re here. Perfect!” You walked around the console, arms wrapped with multicoloured wires, and proceeded over to Ryan where you transferred the mess into his arms.
“Uh, what’s all this then?” The young man asked with a frown. Yaz and Graham squinted at the odd behaviour and watched you grin with wide eyes.
“I’ve finally created the Miniaturisation Materialiser out of some coat hangers and a car tyre in the basement.”
“We have a basement?” Ryan’s question fell on deaf ears as you led the trio to what looked like a toaster sitting on the console. The appliance was hooked up to several wires that ran along the TARDIS floor into Ryan’s arms before disappearing below the panels under their feet.
You grabbed two slices of toast from a little glove compartment and placed them in the toaster, pressing the small knob down. There was a small sizzle until the toaster sparked small white electricity for a second and the bell rang.
The toast popped up and Yaz, Ryan, and Graham leaned in to take a closer look.
“They’ve shrunk to the size of a grape.” Yaz commented.
You nodded and spun around with excitement. “I know! Isn’t it great?”
Ryan chuckled but Graham tilted his head.
“It’s wonderful Y/n, truly. But wouldn’t it make more sense to create something that makes food bigger?”
You squinted curiously, pondering over the suggestion. You lifted the toaster and scanned its outer casing.
“Like an Enhanced Extrapolation Enlarger ... yes, I think we can manage this easily.” You reached back and opened your hand, palm facing up. “Graham, give me your shoe.”
“My what?”
“Y/n, I hope you’re powering that thing safely.” The Doctor parented as she entered her travelling vehicle. She often found that when she left you alone for a day, you had created something new.
Nodding, you lowered the device and took the wires back from Ryan. “Don’t get your sonic in a knot. I rerouted the comms through the swimming pool and the navigation systems are funnelling from the carousel. All temporary.”
“Huh.” The Doctor mused as she reached the satellite screen. “Maybe leave the carousel funnel, I’m getting some great readings. Points for innovation.”
You beamed with pride. Turning to your friends, you gestured for them to walk to an open panel by the stairs.
“So, how was it? I thought you were going to be back later.”
“O found something on the aliens.” Yaz replied.
“O?” You wondered, dropping the wires into the floor. The TARDIS doors opened once more and a familiar face walked in. “Oh.”
You shoulders slumped when the guest entered the TARDIS, his eyes filled with wonder and awe at the interior. Spotting you, O smiled as he made his way over to you and stuck out his hand.
You eyed the friendly expression and stared at the open handshake. Then you turned on your heel and called out to the woman behind the console.
“Really?”
The Doctor’s head popped up quickly at the question, her furrowed brows quickly darting up when she realised what the issue was.
“Y/n, play nice.”
“But-”
“We need all the help we can get.”
Laying down her expectations, the doctor disappeared once more. You exhaled loudly and looked back at O. One smile from him and you rolled your eyes before walking off in the opposite direction.
Graham caught the tension flying from the pair and gently tapped O’s arm. “Why are they so mad at you?”
O shook his head with a small smile. “You know, I don’t think they could quite figure me out.”

Headcanons: Dhawan!Master with a companion who has migraines
@asexualaromosafezone’s request: “could I request a Master x platonic reader… …Where the reader is having a bit of a brain fog cause by a migraine coming on... ...or after where the reader is sluggish really not there and shutdown to *reboot* and falling a sleep… …I get sleepy after a attack. Master pick up on the changes of his dear pet. Master just takes care of them and keep a eye on them, knowing full well that the feeling in their hand is not back just yet.”
A/N: Sorry this took a while, but here you go! Your description of your migraine symptoms helped a ton, so thank you for including it – I hope you like this!
The reader here is gender-neutral. These imagines are written to be fully platonic!
Content warnings: None.
Tumblr media
You’re the Master’s closest friend, not that he would admit that to you. Despite him not being open enough to express it verbally, however, it often shows in his actions towards you.
One example of this is how he notices immediately when your migraines start to develop, having learnt to recognise the brain fogginess as a sign leading up to them.
The moment he notices you becoming more disoriented and unfocused, he’ll prioritise finding you somewhere to relax – whether it be on the TARDIS, or somewhere near you during a trip.
He always tries to find somewhere quiet and dim, with a place for you to sit down, so you don’t have to suffer as much during the migraine.
If you two were in the middle of an adventure, he’ll quietly guard you nearby with the TCE, more than ready to cut anyone who may disturb you down to size…
…unless you ask him to stay with you, in which case he’ll either get an ally you’ve gained during the trip to stand guard, or use a transmat to get you and him back to the TARDIS (he started to keep them with him each time you travel together, just in case).
If you start shivering or losing the feeling in your hands while holding something important, he’ll be sure to pick it up again for you before you leave, if possible.
He knows you might get angry at yourself for not being able to stay steady enough to keep assisting him, so he makes sure your efforts weren’t for nothing. It's his way of looking out for you.
Has a quiet room on the TARDIS, designed to suit your needs during migraines. The lights can be adjusted to your liking, the walls are soundproof, and it includes both beanbags and a bed, so you can rest well during the aftermath.
The Master’s temper is volatile and easily triggered - but over time, he's learnt to be more patient when you become irritable during migraines.
He'll help you when you're at your most vulnerable not only because you're his loyal companion, but also because you're not-so-secretly his favourite human.

Dhawan!Master Being In Love With You Would Include...
Tumblr media
Request! Would you please write about flirting with the 11 doctor or the dhawan!master really in love with you? 👉🏻👈🏻
I love Sacha so I hope you don’t mind me doing the Master headcanons!! <3
Warning: NSFW!
(I do not own Doctor Who or its characters, all rights go to creators. Gif credit goes to @wincheskka.)
☆.。.:*・°☆.。.:*・°
Hmmm I had a dream about Dhawan!Master last night so this is perfect ty ty, I’ve been obsessed with the Master since about 2007 so you’re really calling me out right now I love it.
Not going to lie Master I love you but this man would be annoying as frick once he finally realises what he’s feeling for you. Instead of the usual burning hatred that plagues his mind and doubles him over in pain most of the time, it’s a scorching, devastating... loneliness? Need? Want? Eventually his brain cells will skip stones and hit love, but it will just take him a little bit of time; he hasn’t felt it very often, not since he was a young child running wild and free through the crimson reeds of his father’s fields back home. He’s lost all that now - even the memories are mere whispers tingling the rational part of him in the back of his mind, buried deep within the swallowing pit he no longer calls his hearts.
Yet he’s still so touch starved, so aching for some kind of connection with something real and solid and fiercely alive that he becomes completely overbearing when he realises there’s a chance you might not actually hate him too.
He keeps creeping up behind you in his TARDIS, like a shadow connected to your feet looming up the walls from the corner of your eye. He looks so serious, so stern as he’s lost in his thoughts before he steps into your line of vision: little did you know, as he tilted his head from side to side and roamed his eyes over you, that he was just wondering how to not ruin this. How to not destroy you, as he does everything else: if he ever lost you, his hearts might as well crumble into dust and choke him into a sweet oblivion. Then he acts all aloof, and humoured when he comes up behind your back for an ‘impromptu TARDIS flying lesson’ - which is a huge step forward in his chain of trust within itself. His hands wrap over your own as he leans over your back, pressing your waist uncomfortably into the buttons lining the console. You can feel his breath trembling over the shell of your ear, his eyes never leaving yours as you feel his midriff entrap you against his shirt; his pointer finger gently grapples yours and glides it over to the buttons.
‘That one, love - just like that. You’ll be flying me around the place in no time.’ The sound of his hoarse, near growling voice trembling over your spine nearly breaks you out into a fleet of goose bumps, and you pretend not to notice the way he begins to smirk. His lips nearly brush over the pulse point on your neck as his fingers hunch over yours for a lingering few seconds, and then as soon as he started he’s run off in a blur to pull a lever on the opposite side of the console room.
The man is literally chaos incarnate, so you can never really tell on a day to day basis how his way of showing love is going to leak out from his cracks. A lot of days, his more Missy side shines through: before you can even finish pulling your socks on he’s grabbed you tightly by the wrist and has you tumbling out the doors to visit a new planet. Just causing trouble, and trying to pull you out of it; even though he was the one who went up and aggravated the very obviously hostile Dalek leader, he still manages to push you around the corner and collapse on top of you in a fit of giggles when it starts shooting energy beams at you both. Even though he’s obviously enjoying himself, you can tell by the way his body is surging towards yours that he’s trying to keep you safe: by the way his hands have tightly kept your wrists pinned against the pockets of his trousers, rapacious in his appetite to feel you tight against him.
Speaking of - the Master is so protective of you. If he even hears the word ‘Doctor’, he’s started growling from deep within his throat and surveying the room with a snarl twitching his nose. Whenever you accidentally get roped up in his devious schemes against said Doctor, he always tries to keep you out of (his) harms way. Whether that’s fitting you with a stolen Time Vortex Manipulator on the plane he’s just destroyed, or making you stay on Earth so you’re far, far away from the planet he’s currently trying to boobytrap.
When he’s not... you know... completely wrapped up in his torment and fury for revenge, the Master comes lingering outside your door like a kicked puppy, knowing that he’s upset you with all his wretchedness. With those exploding, doey, wet eyes, he just rests his forehead against the door frame and frowns at you until you finally relent and open your arms out to him. He doesn’t want anything, for once: he just comes running into your room in less than a millisecond, and jumps onto the mattress next to you. He finds his apologies become lost in the fog of his confounded mind, choking up his throat until he draws blood from his closed fists at the annoyance of it. Instead, he lies next to you, turning onto his side so he can be tucked up against your waist, and allows you ample space to reach up and run your hair through his curls. He closes his eyes in a pained bliss, feeling underserving of such tenderness, but jointly ready to burn down every star in the sky if anyone ever dared to take it away from him. When he finds it becomes too much: the love hurtling through his hearts like a man drowned, the only warning he gives before he knocks you onto your back and comes crawling up on top of you is a groan.
The man would have stars lining his eyes, gazing at you as if you were the whole galaxy incarnate. Not going to lie, he adores it even more if you’re the one on top of him *hm hm*. Sometimes he’s just so tired, you know? Just lounging down on the sofa of his second library, when you come in and climb on top of him, trapping his thighs between your knees and skirting your hand up his chest. You can feel him squirm, his breath becoming high and full of squealing moans as his cheek bumps against the hand you have splayed against it. You loosen his bowtie, calling him out for his choking kink when you pull it out from behind his neck and he bucks his hips up. Throwing it onto the velvet purple chaise longue on the opposite side of the ornate fireplace, you turn instead to focus on unbuttoning his check shirt, until the first tufts of chest hair begin to peek out from his heaving chest. You can feel how thunderous his hearts are beating as you go, his desperation radiating off him as clawing, bruising hands come up to grip into the meat of your waist. When he leans his neck up to kiss you, it’s all encompassing, as if he’s trying to swallow you whole: he snarls against your bottom lip before tugging on it, inhaling against your mouth as if he were languidly trying to steal the heavens that lived within your soul. Eventually you can feel his knee rise up to rest in between yours, yet the kisses don’t stop - instead he runs his hands up and over your shoulders until he’s cupped your cheeks, trapping you entirely against him.
He’ll even get you a matching set of silk pyjamas to make you feel more at home! On the days when the tempest within his head has managed to calm into a vernal rain, the two of them will match in them as you share a cup of warm tea. Sitting on his lap, he reads aloud a book on Gallifreyan history from over your shoulder; he keeps shouting out scathing insults about how wrong some passages are, which nearly makes you jump out of your skin. He’ll kiss your cheek in apology, lingering against you for a moment because he knows the feel of his fresh stubble by the side of your lips drives you wild, before he turns back to the domestic peace again.
Even though he’s so desperate and craving for your love so constantly, some days he feels so desolate that he looks like a sad little puppet collapsed down in a heap on the console chair. When you go over to try and give him a hug, he’ll act all disgruntled when you wrap your arms under his jacket and tight around his squishy little stomach. He’ll jut his chin out and act as if he’s not about to burst into tears, the stubborn little feral mouse he is, but if you stick it out he’ll always eventually give in. Once the head has collapsed down against the curve of your neck, and you begin to feel his hands snake around your back like a vice, you know the real him is starting to peek through again. When you pull back to place your pointer finger under his chin and pull him up to gaze at his bloodshot eyes, he gently takes your hands within his and kisses your knuckles, enraptured, as if he’s trying to devour every inch of you.
My man’s just a tragedy wrapped up in vivacious tweed, so his version of love is like a bursting supernova, constantly exploding and dwindling simultaneously in shards of striking light. It may be overwhelming at times, but by everything true in the galaxy, does he love you with every inch of his hearts.

What if The Master fell for the Doctors Companion? (AKA You!)
Tumblr media
Dhawan!Master x Reader Headcannons
The MASTERlist
Includes:
He’d been watching you all from afar, mostly The Doctor, keeping tabs on her to ensure his next plan worked
But whilst doing so, he found himself involuntarily having to watch her pets also
Sorry, he meant to say companions
The others were average at most, with Yaz probably being the second best… with you in first
He was impressed by your knowledge, you’d always ask the right questions, and observe every little detail around you to take in as much information as you could
He also thought you were brave, in your own way, whatever it was you had to overcome, you would, not giving up without a fight
Whilst it was clear you were amazed by your travels, you weren’t the Doctors lap dog following her around, often disobeying her own orders, which of course caught The Masters eye
There was a few times he’d even stopped you getting hurt or even killed by aliens as you went off and explored
Not that he’d ever admit that
Watching from afar was getting rather boring, so one day he pretended to bump into you, when he was sure the others had cleared off that is
He did nothing more than offer you more information about the place you were stood in, which you listened to gratefully
Something about him caught your eye
For starters, he was handsome, but also there was something in his eyes that excited you
After that one interaction, he found it rather hard to stay away, often having to stop himself from approaching you, not wanting to risk his plan of taking down The Doctor for some… human
But you weren’t just some human.
But he couldn’t do it. He had to prioritise his plan.
But when it was time for his plan to commence, he ensured not to endanger you. Never mind The Doctor’s other pets, as long as you were ok and safe
You were shocked to see the man you’d bumped into a mere few weeks beforehand now in front of you all, explaining his grand plan
But through it all, after his failure (again), he decided to bite the bullet and ask you to go with him.
You were hesitant. You didn’t know the alien. Not like he knew you. But something inside you told you yes…

I Know (Dhawan!Master x Reader, Thirteen x Reader)
Part 6 of 'Shackled' Masterlist | Previous Part
Alone. Endlessly isolate, stuck in a silent solitude, imposed by a madman who knew the way loneliness saturated into weary bones. Silence held words too quiet to hold immediate weight, a slow enemy, but the years wore sores, whispers worming into the brain. The universe's discordancies had melded together, swirling, enrapturing in this new silence. Solitude would drive you mad, the only company your thoughts.
But you knew that. And he hated the power it had imbued you with.
The roar of his rage still rang in your ears. Alone. But not quite. That red pulsing fury had ebbed, seeping out of you and leaving you so numb. Simple, fickle, human emotions so empty, pale, meaningless in comparison.
Sickening.
It listened. It whispered in your mind, trying desperately to destroy the rebellious thoughts that welled up against its dam of control. The river had grown too strong, the words rushing up against it, overpowering.
He still couldn't leave you alone.
Obsessive, manic, desperate to return you to the dull, droopy peace that had settled into your bones. He couldn't control you anymore. Nothing worked. You'd been through it before. And now you understood.
He hated it.
Thinking of me? Still? How... pitiful.
Derisive, mocking, cruel. Almost laughable. You smothered a smirk, resting your head against the cool metal of the dingy cell.
He had lost.
I don't lose.
But despite the protests in your mind, you laughed. How could he ever expect to win now?

the convoluted doctor who lore gets extra funny when you realize that, at two separate points in the past, two different companions to two different doctors ended up running into rasputin but both came to the conclusion that he was a pretty nice and normal guy. which, depending on how you interpret the power of the doctor, is either a nice subversion of a lot of tropes of stories used in pre-soviet russia, or side-splittingly hilarious as you start imagining the master getting roped into various adventures with different versions of the doctor that he can’t fuck with yet or else he’ll destroy the timeline, forcing him to play nice with the humans as part of his 4D Time Chess Master Disguise Plan #3852

Okay but imagine a yandere Master/Missy (or even a yandere Doctor). Imagine them defying all laws of time and space to be with their "one true love", someone who doesn't even know they exist
Imagine how terrifying it would be to find out that not only has this person been obsessed with you and has stalking you for months, but they're a literal Timelord. So that means no matter where you go, or what you do, or how far you try to run, they will always find you in the end. Even if you die or escape, they will without a doubt somehow manage to bring you back, just because they love you so much
Bonus points if this crosses over into regenerations, meaning even if you do manage to get away from them there really is nobody who you can trust, because you never know when they're going to come back with a new form

How about the Master with an anxious companion? (It really doesn't matter which incarnation you go for- I can't be arsed to choose Lamo.
A/N: I'll go with Dhawan!Master because I feel he's the one more easily able to show his vulnerabilities and want to comfort someone easier because he's going through a major time too.
Tumblr media
Dhawan!Master with an Anxious Companion:
He can see your anxiety and practically sense it too. He understands it, but no fear, he's there to reassure you.
However, he needs the same in return. Honestly, he's a mess that's trying to keep it together.
He won't let any harm come to you. In fact, he will destroy anyone or anything that even thinks about it. Seriously, he's a professional at this.
Except hand holding and possible hugs in order to help comfort you. That doesn't help? How about stealing some jewels or anything your heart desires? He has a strange way of showing he will take care of you, but rest assured that he will.
Will for sure make you a nice, calming and relaxing cup of tea.
How about warm bubble bath? Only the best and most luxurious of course!
He will even help you in trying to breath deeply, maybe even give a bit of a nudge, placing his hands upon your temples and reassuring your mind that everything is alright. "Relax and breathe, love."
Cuddles are probably the best, holding you close and tight near him to the point you can hearing the beating of his two hearts and feel how warm he is. It's enough to put you to sleep for sure.

requesting fluff with dhawan!master x their gn! companion
I tried to make this extra cute and fluffy because I'm such a sucker for those kinds of things (also shout out to my bestest bud @your-next-daydream for helping me come up with this corny ass pun of a title. I love you sm <3)
The One Who Rocks My World (Dhawan! Master x reader)
Warnings: soft! Master (he might be slightly ooc due to a part in this where he gets a little emotional), teeny weeny bit of hurt/comfort, but mostly just lots and lots of fluff
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Ooh, let's go there!" You said in excitement, pointing at a random alien marketplace that popped up on one of the TARDIS console's many screens.
The Master merely sighed, knowing you wouldn't stop pestering him until you got what you wanted. He usually wasn't a fan of random, one off trips (he wasn't The Doctor) but something about you always made it so hard for him to say no.
"Fine, but we're staying for no longer than two hours, three tops. And I'm not buying you anything there." He said sternly, glancing up at you while he punched in the coordinates. "Do you understand?"
You simply squealed happily in response, clapping your hands together. "Yay! I knew you'd say yes!"
Less than twenty minutes later, the two of you arrived at the marketplace. You'd grabbed The Master by the hand and were already starting to drag him towards it before the TARDIS had even landed properly.
"Slow down, the market's not going anywhere in the ten minutes it'll take us to get there," he grumbled, though he made no real attempt to stop you, something he could very well do if he so pleased.
He lingered a little behind you, following you around from vendor to vendor as you oohed and awed over the different wares being sold.
"Remember, I'm not buying you anything, so don't pick anything up if you don't have the money to pay for it," he called after you, watching as you picked up a piece of fabric that was similar to a scarf.
You frowned slightly before putting it back down, knowing full well that even if you did have the money, you most likely wouldn't know how much to give them, and you had no interest in being scammed by some random alien seller, again.
The Master shook his head at your antics, smiling softly to himself. As irritating as you could be sometimes, he did have to admit he found it to be pretty endearing.
He turned to say something else to you before realizing you'd run off again, though to where he wasn't entirely sure. He was about to start tearing apart the entire marketplace looking for you before you suddenly popped up again, this time holding something in your hands.
He narrowed his eyes slightly, trying to figure out what you had. "What's that in your hands?"
"Oh, I found it on the ground over there!" You said while pointing to a beachy area that was littered with small, multicolored stones. "It's for you."
He looked at you in confusion as he took the stone, not quite sure what to say. "What is this?"
"It's a rock." You stated plainly, doing nothing to actually answer his question.
"Yes, I'm well aware of that." He did his best to supress an eye roll. "I mean, why are you giving it to me?"
"Well, because I care about you," you stated as though it should've been obvious. "And you give gifts to people you care about."
That made sense, he supposed, though The Master never really did view himself as someone other people would care for. But, still. A rock?
"Why a rock?" He asked curiously, turning it over in his hands.
"Because it's purple," you simply replied, an unwavering smile on your face. "And you wear purple a lot, so I figured it must be one of your favorite colors. Plus, it reminded me of you."
Your words made him want to cry. You thought about him enough that you were reminded of him in even the smallest of things?
"It's- it's very nice," he choked out, blinking back a sudden onslaught of tears.
You frowned slightly, your forehead creasing in concern. "Aw, don't cry." You immediately wrapped your arms around him, pulling him in for a comforting hug.
He wasn't nearly as stiff as he was the first few times you showed him physical affection, but he was obviously still a little awkward about it, holding his arms out to the side while you hugged him.
He glanced yet again at the rock in his hand, watching as the mixture of colors shined brightly in the sun, like his very own kaleidoscope.
The purple color of the stone made him smile, and he very slowly did his best to hug you back properly, not missing the way you seemed to hold on for a bit longer after that.
If this was always what happened when you went on trips together, then he'd have to make sure to plan them more often.

Headcanons: Dhawan!Master x Autistic!Reader with a special interest in urban exploration
A/N: I’ve been dipping a little bit into my old special interest in abandoned places recently, so I decided to compliment my headcanons of Thirteen with an urbex-loving reader by making some for the Master!
The reader here is gender-neutral.
Content warnings: Trespassing, and running away from security.
Tumblr media
Being the morbid Time Lord that he is, he’s particularly intrigued by the places with more horrific histories, such as mansions where murders occurred, or amusement parks that closed down because of a fatal accident.
Will make sure you infodump everything you know about whichever abandoned place you're in to him, mostly to fill in the thick, eerie quietness that would otherwise make the drums in his mind feel more prominent.
If he’s holding your camera for you for any reason, you may catch him taking random photos and pretending to be an annoying tourist while you tell him the history, just to make you laugh.
You know he’s still listening to you while doing so, because you notice him bringing up specific details you told him if they become relevant again later, or during the next time you reminisce on the trip. The fact that he genuinely pays attention to you, no matter what he's doing, says a lot.
One of the fun parts of going to places like this with the Master is that he has zero regard for trespassing laws, nor what he has to do to help you get away with breaking them.
You’re both well accustomed to evading any security guards who try to catch you, yet he’ll still find a way to make it more thrilling - all while keeping you safe.
He lets you keep any books you have about abandoned places in the library in his TARDIS. Not only are they under their own category for you to find easily, but despite his disregard for most things involving Earth, you might occasionally catch him having a quick look for places to take you.
If there’s a particular place where very little is known about why it was neglected and fell into ruin, chances are that he would suggest going to its last couple of days to see what happened, if you’re up to it. He'll always take a chance to watch any potential chaos unfold, after all.
Of course, because disaster follows the Master wherever he goes, this often leads to it turning out to be all you two’s fault.
He respects your desire to capture abandoned places nicely in your photos, but won’t resist the chance to photobomb every so often. Usually in a way that makes him look like a ghost or cryptid haunting the area. You have an album dedicated solely to these particular shots.

One major implication I don't think that episode really took the time to settle on is the implication that the Toymaker has already massively messed up the universe?
Toymaker: I came to this universe with such delight. And I played them all, Doctor. I toyed with supernovas, turned galaxies into spin tops. I gambled with God and made him a jack-in-the-box. Toymaker: I made a jigsaw out of your history... did you like it? Toymaker: The Master was dying and begged for his life with one final game, and when he lost, I sealed him for all eternity within my gold tooth.
And later:
Toymaker: Do you think a grand total of two can cause me to shiver when I've played against the Guardians of Time and Space and shrank them into voodoo dolls?
So to summarise:
It's implied the universe is now even more destroyed by the Toymaker's reality warping. Granted we don't know what the scale of this is, unlike the Flux, but it's possibly proportionally quite big considering how little of the universe is left already? That being said, he could have done this in history before the Flux, since it was a linear event, in which case this is far less of an issue.
That being said, it's likely this was reversed by the Toymaker being banished - so we're probably not going to see galaxy-sized spin-tops in the future. How many people died, and if they come back however, is less clear.
The Master (presumably dying after POTD), and the Black and White Guardians (at least - possibly the other 3 guardians too, excluding the Toymaker - though they're the main ones, and it's "order and chaos" specifically which are mentioned in the episode) have all gamed with the Toymaker and lost. The tooth!Master is at least left in our universe, and may possibly be secure with UNIT. The fate of the Guardians is a bit less clear, as is the implications for the balance of the universe.
But perhaps the biggest thing, and the one the episode actually took the time to give us a confused 14 reaction shot to:
The Toymaker has a made a 'jigsaw' out of the Doctor's history (or maybe history in general, although he does say 'your').
So what does that mean?
The hint is that the Doctor has already experienced whatever it is... so what was it that he caused with his interference?
To me there's perhaps three possible options:
The Star Beast - this would be an oddly minor thing to refer to, but arguably makes the most sense in the 'arc' of the specials. Perhaps he's referring to the Doctor encountering Beep the Meep for the first time again? ie. taken one jigsaw piece and exchanged its position in his timeline. For now this might be my headcanon regarding it, but would be really odd to be the intention, especially since we're already disregarding most of the other appearances of the Toymaker in the EU? It's also of course not the first time we've had an adaptation of an EU story in the main show without referencing the original (the no. 1 example being Human Nature - there are others like The Lodger and Dalek, but they're different enough that they can co-exist in a continuity with their source material).
The Timeless Child / Fugitive Doctor - RTD has said he's not going retcon the arc, but this arguably makes the most sense as a 'puzzle' being made out of the Doctor's history? Especially with regards to the Fugitive Doctor anyway, given there's the additional complications of her a) being the "Doctor", b) having a Police Box TARDIS, yet c) seemingly being from around the time of the Anchoring of the Thread.
The Toymaker's being time-wimey, it hasn't happened yet / it's nothing in particular - While it would be a bit confusing to contradict the one detail we got in the episode, this is always a possibility too. After all, there was a lot of sequel hooking all across these specials, so it might be something RTD will come back to, especially if we are going to be seeing more of the past Doctors in future series? Hopefully not by the biregeneration theory he gave about them all being split retroactively, because that is literally insane and doesn't even make the little sense the 14-15 one does....wtf.
So overall, what do I think?
Well I think I can be somewhat forgiving with the damage to the rest of the universe, just because it's implied that it might be reset, and the scale/lethality was never established. Plus like I said, there is some justification to the proportional issue not being too bad when combined with the Flux.
The Black and White Guardians implication is... interesting. We are gradually building up more and more of those 'Great Old One' / pre-universe elements in (New)NewWho, so there's a good chance this could come back in the future. It probably won't have immediate effects on the universe, as the Guardians seemed to be more concerned with specific dangers like the Key to Time. It could perhaps lead to more Eternals popping up across the universe, given the Guardians were the only force they really answered to. RTD I think is also quite aware of some of the Eternal-type lore too, since he played around with it quite a bit in those Series 1 articles talking about the Time War.
The Master's obviously coming back and as silly as this was, it does at least justify him being alive after POTD. It actually opens up the possibility of seeing Dhawan himself again too, which would be great! The nail-polished hand picking it up felt like a bit of a trolling moment, after how underwelming all the theories of who did it were when the End of Time came along. Someone pointed out that Kate actually has the same nail-polish, which would be interesting. Perhaps when we next see the Master, they'll be in UNIT captivity, Delgado style?
Finally, the jigsaw line, which is possibly the most interesting. Originally I was going to lean towards this being nothing / a vague setup for future past-Doctor stuff, since that seems to be the default, but now that I've laid it out... I think this could be a setup for more Fugitive!Doctor appearances. It makes the most sense from a story perspective anyway, given what the Toymaker said and some of the questions surrounding her not being answered, whether or not it's the direction the franchise would actually want to go.
After all, as controversial as the Timeless Child lore was, as far as I'm aware Jo Martin was pretty well recieved, and I'm sure RTD would love to look for opportunities to do more with her somehow. Whether he'd want something so continuity dependent from a showrunning perspective, however, is a bit more questionable.

Rooting For The Anti-Hero {Dhawan!Master x Reader}
Summary: Perhaps all The Master needed was a companion. TPOTD Cannon-Divergence
A/N: I HAD THIS IDEA AFTER SEEING @death-by-sc0tland’s POST REGARDING DHAWAN!MASTER SAYING TO YAZ ‘IM FUN TOO’ , SO TY FOR THE INSPO
Tumblr media
Travelling with the Doctor was wonderful. It was eye-opening, full of self discovery, amazing and most of all dangerous. That was ultimately why you took a step back all those years ago. You’d met The Doctor in their tenth self, and travelled with him for a bit. But found the lifestyle too much for a late teen/young adult. You wanted to experience human life. Normal human life, before you missed that chance. You’d had a few more run-ins with the Timelord throughout your time on Earth, meeting his 11th and 12th self. But still you chose to stay put.
And now, being older and wiser and feeling more accomplished with your life on Earth, you found yourself wrapped up in another one of The Doctors adventures. You found out this was her 13th self. She appeared to have picked up some more companions along her way, and built herself a little TARDIS family. What she least expected was you asking to re-join her.
“Could I… I don’t know-“ You shrugged, playing with your hands as she stood in the doorway of her ship. “Maybe I could join you again?” You asked, as she stayed quiet, staring at you, which made you feel like you’d overstepped. “Only if you want me to, I don’t want to intrude-“
“Yes.” She breathed out, as you looked back at her, seeing a smile on her face. “Of course you can!” She nodded. “I’d love it.”
And that’s how you ended up a meeting The Master.
“If it isn’t (Y/N) (L/N)… You just couldn’t stay away from her could you?”
He stood before you all, eyeing you all up on the plane that was threatening to crash any second.
“And of course, she welcomed you back with open arms.” He glanced at The Doctor. “Building yourself quite the team.” He looked at you all, but you noticed something shift in his eyes. What was it? Envy? Sadness? “And now they’re all going to die, because of little old me.” And as quickly as that look came it was gone.
You all, of course, ran into him again, this time with his Cyberman army, and the discovery that Gallifrey had been burned to the ground. When The Doctor returned to the spare TARDIS, she was on her own. The Master no where in sight.
“What happened?” You asked, as she looked tired, piloting the ship away from the explosion as she ignored you. “Doctor, The Master-“
“Is gone.” She snapped, as you recoiled slightly at her tone. You furrowed your brows.
“Did you try to-“ You began but she slammed her hands down on the console, as everyone in the room jumped at the sudden noise.
“He’s gone!” She yelled, anger evident on her features as you silently nodded your head, deciding to leave her be. You didn’t know what had happened, nor what they spoke about, or even how she felt about her home being burnt. Again.
That was when you felt The Doctor pulling away. The only person that could seem to talk to her was Yaz. It hurt. Knowing you’d spent time with her before, and helped her through a tough time in her life when she was 10. But you came to the conclusion, you’d served your time for her. You’d been there when she needed, and now what she needed wasn’t you.
And now there you were stood outside The Masters cell at UNIT. Why? Curiosity.
“Has The Doctor sent you to keep an eye on me?” He quipped, raising a brow as he slowly approached the cell bars. “Are cameras not enough?” You stayed quiet, observing him. “It’s hard isn’t it.” He narrowing his eyes. “Being tossed aside.” You furrowed your brows at his words. “Knowing she doesn’t need you anymore… Just like her other little pets she dumped back home.” He sniffed as he stood directly a few feet in front of you, staring through the bars. “Nothing to say? No smart remark about how she will always need you?” You didn’t budge, keeping your composure as he clicked his tongue. “You’re no fun.” He sighed.
“Don’t you get bored?” You asked, finally speaking as he raised a brow. “Doing the same thing over and over again… For what? To one up The Doctor?” He suddenly smirked, taking another step forward, his chest close to the bars.
“What about you? Do you get bored, (Y/N)?” He quipped back. “If I remember correctly, you left the Doctor once before… To go back to little old Earth… Experience life.” He laughed slightly. “And yet-“ He let out a breath. “There are humans who would kill to be you.”
“I left because I wanted to. I know when something has run it’s course.” You told him, slightly accusatory in tone as he hummed in thought.
“And here you are.” He began to laugh, clasping his hands together as the cuffs jangled from the movement. “Still latching on to The Doctor. Hoping that maybe things will go back to the way they were… But now… There’s Yaz.” He was trying to get under your skin. “Yasmin Khan, the bravest human of them all…” He taunted as you held your ground, simply blinking at him. “If I had empathy I would say it’s endearing…”
“Empathy?” You repeated, narrowing your eyes as you took a step closer to the cell. “See… I think you do.” You raised your chin a little. “Somewhere inside… Buried beneath all that anger… I can see it.” The Master kept your gaze as he stayed silent, keeping his lips in a tight line. “You don’t want this. Not really. But it’s the only way you know how to cope…” Suddenly, he lurched forwards, his fists banging on the bars as you jumped slightly. He almost snarled at you, but instead chose to grin.
“You know nothing.” He spoke lowly. “Oh, dear little (Y/N)…” He softened his gaze. “Can you hear that?” He turned his head slightly as you looked confused. However, suddenly an explosion was heard down the hall, with sounds of pain and shooting. “I believe that’s the cavalry…”
And that’s how you ended up in 1916 Russia… With The Master and The Doctor. Both in glass chambers as The Master began to execute his plan. You watched, feeling helpless as you didn’t know what to do.
“Forced regeneration, Doctor. To force you... to regenerate... into me.” The Master declared as The Doctor looked panicked, shaking her head.
“You wouldn’t.” She wavered, fear evident in her eyes.
“Master, stop!” You tried, stepping towards his glass chamber. “You don’t have to do this- If you want to be The Doctor, you don’t have to do it this way!” You cried, but he just stared at you, wide eyed as he manically grinned, before suddenly a familiar regeneration light appeared causing you to squint, covering your eyes and step back. Both of the Timelords yelled, as they felt excruciating pain erupt from within.
“Doctor!” You called, hearing the sound of the TARDIS, beginning to materialise. After a moment, the light disappeared, as you looked to see The Masters old body slumped in the glass chamber, your eyes travelled to where The Doctor was stood, as you saw someone kneeling, rushing to them, opening the chamber as you leant down, praying it was The Doctor… Somewhere inside…
“It worked.”
You felt your heart stop at the voice, as they lifted their head, slowly standing as you took a step back, seeing it was The Master… In place of The Doctor…
“I am… The Doctor.” He breathed out, voice wavering slightly as you looked at him in shock.
The TARDIS finally landed, as the doors flew open, revealing Yaz as she looked at the two of you in shock and anger.
“Where’s The Doctor?!” She exclaimed, as The Master smirked, turning to face her.
“Oh, hello Yasmin Khan.” He greeted her as she scowled, stepping towards him.
“My Doctor.” She reiterated. “Where is she?” You swallowed the lump in your throat.
“She-“ You began. “She’s gone, Yaz.” You breathed out as she shook her head in denial.
“Gone. Really gone.” The Master continued. “Forever gone. Don't...don't worry. You'll get used to me.” He told her, as he walked towards the TARDIS, taking a half step inside as he turned back to face you both. “Everyone will. I still need a companion to ask and... bask in my brilliance.” He raised a brow, eyes shifting between the two of you. “Come on, you two. Let's go on an adventure!” He clapped his hands together, but neither of you moved, as he lowly added: “Don't make me ask twice. I'd hate to have to bring you down to size.”
You flared your nostrils before walking towards him, as Yaz frowned, grabbing your arm, stopping you.
“What are you doing?” She asked, eyes wide.
“If he wants a companion… I’ll give him a companion.” You uttered lowly, gently pulling your arm away from her as you headed towards the entrance of the ship, sending Yaz a glance that said ‘come on’.
“Good choice.” He smirked as he entered the ship, both of you following behind. “Now… Where do we want to go?!” He rushed to the console. “Come on! Let's save a civilisation! Let's correct history! Rescue a sick animal!” He grinned, as he reached out, the TARDIS seemingly zapping him as he recoiled. “Ow! What was that?! Some sort of dirty protest? Unless you want to be consigned down a black hole for eternity, you'd better behave!” He threatened. “I am the Doctor, and you will obey me.”
“Then act like The Doctor.”
The Master paused, narrowing his eyes as he turned on the spot to see you stood defiantly at the bottom of the stairs of the console.
“If you want to be The Doctor so bad… Then start acting like her.” You continued as Yaz looked worriedly at you. The Master laughed slightly at your words, shaking his head.
“I’m sorry-“ He began. “What do you want from me? Longing gazes from across the room-“ He looked at Yaz. “Gentle touches, hand holding… Telling you everything is going to be ok because I’m going to save the day…” He slowly began to approach you. “Or what about keeping secrets? How about we start there… Containing a rage so deep in my hearts that it bubbles-“ He gestured with his hands. “To the surface every now and again… You’ve seen it. You both have.” Yaz stayed quiet, watching your interaction with the Timelord. “It’s time to accept it… I am the Doctor now.” He leant forwards, his face inches from your own. “I… am… The Doctor.”
He pushed himself back, shaking his head as he grew irritated.
“I need clothes. Try to escape or touch anything, I will kill you both.”
You watched as he left, leaving you and Yaz alone as she let out a panicked breath.
“What are we going to do?” She asked, as you narrowed your eyes, before turning to her.
“Did you hear what he said?” You asked quietly, as she furrowed her brows. “Oh Yaz… This runs deeper than The Doctor…”
When The Master returned, he was dressed in multiple different things from each Doctor, which weirdly gave him a less menacing appearance, but you weren’t daft enough to ignore the fact he could kill you at any second.
He rushed to open the doors, as you both watched, peering from behind him as he revealed two planets at war, fire and explosions emitting from both.
“Oh, lovely. Gold star and a sticker.” He spoke. “That's how you stop two sides warring. Destroy them both.” He explained as a drone suddenly appeared, zoning in on The Master. “Oh, hello. I have a message for all your remaining news viewers. I am the Doctor. And I caused this. See? No-one to stop me now.” You felt a rush of anger flow through you, he was damaging The Doctors name… Yaz obviously felt the same as she launched herself at him, pushing him with a yell out the ship, quickly closing the doors. You looked surprised at the girl, as she ran towards the console.
“We can’t leave him!” You cried. “Whatever he’s done, we need him there to reverse it!” She didn’t listen as she began to press buttons on the console. You sighed, peering back at the doors.
“I’m gonna regret this.” You muttered under your breath, as you turned on your heel, rushing to the doors as you opened them, Yaz calling after you, as the TARDIS began to make a familiar wheezing as it disappeared.
You stood, stranded on the planet, with the Master who was currently sat on the edge of a cliff, playing a flute. He had his back turned to you, as you slowly approached. He didn’t turn to look, as you hesitatingly sat next to him, staring out at the view as you stayed silent. Finally he stopped playing, as you peered over at him, raised brow.
“Where’d you learn to play that?” You asked, breaking the tension.
“When you’re thousands of years old, you pick up a hobby or two.” He simply responded as you nodded slowly.
“Never could get it.” You shrugged, still staring out. “Was forced to learn the recorder in school. Was rubbish at it.” You laughed lightly. “But you win some you lose some.”
“Why did you stay?”
You licked your lips as you shrugged, clearing your throat.
“I was bored.”
He furrowed his brows as he finally turned to face you.
“Plus, haven’t been to a mushroom planet before.” You added, gesturing to the giant mushrooms. “Thought there may be some fun-guys around.” You said as the man beside you raised a brow.
“Did you just make a mushroom joke?” He asked, confused.
“Yes, yes I did.” You nodded proudly as you laughed lightly. “I’ve been told I use humour to cope.”
“I erased The Doctor… And you’re sat here with me… Why?” He looked at you suspiciously. “I’m assuming her other little pet is off trying to scramble for help, why aren’t you with her?”
“Because I can see when someone is struggling.” You told him sternly. “And Master, I think you are struggling…”
After what felt like hours, the TARDIS finally reappeared as you both got up from your seated positions, as he cracked his neck, stalking towards the ship with you behind. As the doors opened, you saw Yaz stood at the console.
“I’m sorry.” She spoke as you looked at her. The Master narrowed his eyes.
“Are you? Truly?” He asked as she forced a small smile.
“Came back, didn’t I?” She retorted as he seemed content with her answer. He walked round the console as he looked at both of you.
“We could have fun, you know? I am fun. Different type of fun, but fun.” He explained, as you watched him intently. “We could travel. You'll see.” He wore a small smile as he began to press buttons. You shared a look with Yaz as she gave you a subtle nod, letting you know she had a plan.
Eventually the ship landed, as The Master approached the doors, opening them wide to reveal you were back where you had started, seeing Cybermen… No, Cybermasters stood around.
“Ah, thank you for waiting, my precious fam. And now it's time to kill... everyone. Unleash the volcanoes.” The Master declared as you stood in thought.
‘I still need a companion to ask…’
‘We could have fun. We could travel.’
‘My precious fam.’
“Tectonic disruption in progress. Volcanic eruptions increasing across the surface of planet Earth.”
The Cybermaster informed The Master as he grinned in delight.
“Stop!” You called out, the Master turning to you, eyes narrowed as a hand fell on his hip. “Stop…” You held your hands up in surrender. “You don’t have to do this.” You said quietly. “I know what you want.” You gave him a small smile. “And it’s ok-“ Yaz stared at you in confusion, as the Master tried to hold a straight face. “I can come with you.” You offered, as his expression faltered for a second. “If you want…” But before he could answer you were interrupted by someone entering the room, but it wasn’t just anyone…
“What's going on? Who are you?” The Master frowned.
“I'm the Doctor, mate. Who the hell are you?” She responded as The Master growled.
“Shoot her!” He ordered the cybermasters, who openly followed his orders, but the shots quickly went through her.
“So... it was just the genetic material you put into them, was it? Maybe you should have included the brains. Next time, check for signs of a hologram. Schoolboy error. But then you were a rubbish schoolboy, too.” The Hologram Doctor quipped as The Master felt his breath quicken as he felt anger bubbling up. He scowled, turning to you, eyes threatening.
“Was this you?” He accused as you shook your head quickly, as Yaz answered.
“Out-thought by the Doctor. Get in the machine.” Yaz told him, as he narrowed his eyes.
“Or what?”
“You heard her. Quickly.”
A voice came from behind as you saw the familiar face of Vinder, who was holding a gun up at the man.
“If you're a friend of the Doctor's... you aren't going to use that.” The Master challenged as Vinder shoved him, causing the man to grunt.
“I’m freelance.” Vinder said simply as you watched, seeing the Master being shoved into the glass chamber.
“You’re going to let him do this? To your doctor?!” The Master cried at Yaz, who simply shook her head.
“You're not my Doctor! Because you know the greatest strength my Doctor has? She's spent her life gathering friends. She can't help it. And she is loved. Because she taught us to never give up, even if someone steals your very existence.” She exclaimed, as you watched The Masters face drop. You could see the heartbreak in his eyes, the realisation, he would never have what The Doctor did…
“Master-“ You called to him, as he turned his gaze to you. “I meant what I said.” You told him, a small smile on your face. His features softened as he realised what you were saying.
“They're starting. Yaz, over there. We've got to harness their regenerative energy. Right, burst of two seconds, and then link it into that.” The Hologram Doctor told her as you slowly stood back from the chamber, giving the Master a reassuring nod.
Before you knew it, the familiar regeneration light appeared in the two chambers, eventually the light dimmed, revealing The Doctor stood back in front of you all as The Master went back into his own body. After a few moments of silence, Yaz grinned at the woman, as she helped her out of the chamber.
“Hi. What did I miss? What am I wearing?!” The Doctor looked down at her self as she stumbled slightly, Yaz and Vinder holding her up. “Forced regeneration. Forced degeneration. You brought me back! Yaz, you saved my life.” She turned to the girl as you stood on the sidelines, watching the trio as your gaze shifted over to the glass chamber of the Master. He hadn’t moved. You frowned as you approached it, opening the door as you leant down, giving him a gentle shake to try and see if he’d stir.
“Doctor-“ You called over to her, as she turned to see you by her enemy.
“(Y/N)…” She breathed out, frowning as she slowly approached. “What are you doing?”
“He isn’t moving, help me.” You told her as you placed one of your hands behind his back, lifting him to sit up right as The Doctor watched in confusion. “Doctor?” You furrowed your brows as she didn’t move, before she blinked and aided you in bringing him out of the box and onto the floor. You quickly placed your fingers on his wrist, searching for a pulse as you sighed, feeling one. “He’s ok.” You breathed out as The Doctor watched, looking at Yaz for answers.
“He’ll be fine.” The Doctor told you. “Now come on, we need to stop the daleks.” She turned as she began to walk back to the TARDIS, Yaz and Vinder following.
“No.” You shook your head. The three stopped, turning back to look at you as you slowly stood.
“What?” The Doctor frowned.
“You need to stop the Daleks, Doctor. You three.” You told her. “I’m staying.” She took a step towards you as you gave her a small smile.
“You can’t stay. What do you mean stay?” She questioned.
“I can’t leave him.” You said softly. “He needs someone.”
“He doesn’t need anyone, (Y/N)!” She exclaimed. “He doesn’t do companionship, or friends or-“
“Or maybe no one has tried hard enough.” You jabbed a little, as she recoiled back, taken back by your words. “You didn’t hear him… Yaz, you did.” She furrowed her brows at your words. “He just wants a chance to be you.” You sighed. “He reminds me of you y’know…” The Doctor stayed quiet. “When you were full of anger, needed someone to stop you. I was there.” The Doctor swallowed the lump in her throat as Yaz stared at her. “But now you have Yaz…” You gave her a smile. “And, you don’t need me anymore… But maybe he does.”
“I can’t guarantee your safety.” She told you. “He’s not safe.”
“Neither are you.” You said quietly as she sighed, knowing you were right. “Thank you, Doctor… for everything. But it’s time… It’s time I moved on.” She gave you a small nod, sadness on her features as she knew you were right.
“Thank you, (Y/N) (L/N).” She gave a small smile. “Till we see each other again.”
You didn’t know how long you’d sat with The Masters unconscious form for, but groaning brought you back to reality as you looked over to see The Master sitting up. You approached him, as you held out a hand for him. He furrowed his brows, following the hand as he peered up, seeing you.
“What are you still doing here?” He asked, monotone as he contemplated taking your hand.
“I told you. I do believe you owe me some planets.” You gave him a small smile as he frowned for a moment, before taking your hand, accepting your help.
“Where’s The Doctor?” He asked, as his eyes scanned the room.
“Gone.” You told him. “Now, never-mind that…” You began, raising a brow. “You better have a way for us to leave 1916 Russia.”
And now, you were travelling with The Master. He didn’t trust you straight away, suspicious as to why you chose to be with him, why you chose to leave The Doctor for him… But as time went on, he began to learn your intentions were pure and honest. Something he hadn’t experienced in a long time. You allowed him to take you to planets, to see the stars, to experience civilisations… The Master was right, he was a different kind of fun. He would push boundaries on what he could get away with, from stealing important jewels, to defacing ancient relics, and the occasional blowing up of a planet here and there, albeit empty ones, you made sure.
However, eventually he seemed to need those things less and less, and slowly became content with just living and experiencing new things. Having someone with him, gave him a new lease of life. Of course, he had his moments still, there was no easy fix for that. But no matter what, you stood by him, helping him through whatever he was experiencing.
“Why did you chose me?”
The Master asked, standing at his TARDIS’ console, looking at you from across the room. You stared at him as he looked at you expectantly.
“You could’ve gone with The Doctor, even after everything I’ve done… You chose me.” He was analysing you, trying to look for any minor change in your features.
“Because everyone deserves a chance.” You told him simply. “Whilst I disagree with the things you’ve done, you have a chance to change how you do things in the future.” You explained. “Besides…” You cleared your throat. “I always did like a bad boy.” You joked as he let out a breathy laugh.
“You can’t fix me.” He suddenly announced as you stared at him. “I am what I am.”
“I don’t want to fix you.” You told him softly. “That’s not my job. Only you can do that.” You paced round the console, taking slow steps towards him.
“You’re very wise for a human.” He commented as you raised a brow.
“Is that a compliment?” You smirked as he rolled his eyes at you.
“If that’s how you want to take it, dear.” He responded. “You humans are so easy to appease.” He almost purred as it was your turn to roll your eyes.
“Go on then.” You challenged, folding your arms. “Impress me.” He narrowed his eyes as he began to smirk, moving his land to a lever.
“Your wish is my command.”
