e9: -another 4433 episode frothing at the mouth for it -if lewis had said 'thats what you get when you dont leave the space' after silverstone could you IMAGINE the things christian horner would've said. but max can say it after running over lewis' head. i guess -anyway i NEED another max/lewis championship fight yall dont understand -'christian is a bit like a jack russell terrier who likes to snap at your heels' no one does reads like toto jfc kaldjfasjdfalksjdf -'i don't believe to be successful you need to be an asshole.' SUSIE I LOVE U MWAH -the way lewis's voice gets high pitched when hes passionate abt something i love him i'm putting him in my pocket -not dts giving michael masi a whole introduction one episode before he gets murdered by public opinion -the shots of jeddah at night are So Pretty i actually really do like this track -the way rb talk about max's ruined quali lap is how i talk abt logan's deleted quali lap in jeddah. btw -the way they use mick's crash to set up "oh theres a safety car all the cars are gonna bunch up now~ wonder if anyone will use this opportunity for new tires :)" just setting up all this information for us to know NOW. for no particular reason :) -not max complaining that the SAFETY CAR is going TOO SLOW hes such a BRAT -god i need to see this race. aus23 levels of chaos it seems -i'm sorry but rb being like 'idk why max is being investigated 🥺 hamilton's the one that drove into the back of HIM 🥺🥺' like omg like max didnt do this EXACT thing to daniel baku 2018. its a PATTERN babes -when will my mans win again :( i'm sad :(

e10: -havent even started but i'm gonna CRY watching this episode i swear i am so serious -i'm already just so stressed out. being a max AND lewis girlie is only for god's strongest soldiers fr -'they like all this drama, but when we actually start racing they dont like it' max is so REAL for this -lewis hamilton rainbow helmet u will always be famous 2 me 😍 -checo max underrated ship btw. that cockwarming fic abt them *chefs kiss* -music is just making my stress worse (phenomenal) -part of me wishes i spent this winter break watching old races instead of watching dts, and this is a moment i'm really feeling it. i'm looking forward to at some point being able to watch this race and form my own opinions -( the end of the day i think regardless this result is never getting overturned and i'm at peace with that and i think other lewis girlies should work on that too~) -i will say. and maybe i'm missing something. i do understand the discourse abt only the lapped cars between max n lewis being allowed to unlap. BUT. if every car got to unlap themselves instead. would the result have been any different. how much does that particular detail matter. -ok now i'm just JEALOUS of u bitches who got to watch this live. i could've been there instead i was experiencing such intense trauma that i've forgotten most of 2021 (also i didnt know f1 existed) -OH I SAID I WAS GONNA CRY I KNEW I WAS GONNA CRY -i love lewis. i will always pick lewis over max. THAT BEING SAID -i watch this and i just feel relief. knowing the pressure he's been under his whole life from his father. for the first time in his life since he was little he gets to lift that pressure off his shoulders. i'm so happy for him. and like. you can TELL. how easier it is for him after this win. no matter the technicalities of this win, i find it impossible to be upset with all that context. i just feel overwhelmed with love

dts s4 e1-3

e1: -OK this was my first dts epsiode EVER it is so special and nostalgic 2 me its the start of EVERYTHING i do not accept s4 slander in this house!!!!!! -daniel is SO optimistic abt mclaren thats so sad 😭😭😭😭 -i think as a first episode for me this was GREAT for setting the scene. this is the first time in the entire series where they have a dedicated segment to the team principals and their rivalries and i think that is so so so important to be able to look at it through that lense moving forward -"[bottas] was moaning and bitching like you wouldn't believe" ok whatever u say moaning and bitching multi-world champion christian horner -"toto inhereted something already well oiled" wasn't brawn/mercedes struggling till he came along or am i wrong. like he joined and a year later they won their first championship. like am i missing something -"darling, i'm not riding bottas" is such an underrated iconic dts quote -i wish i was fuckin there to see nikita crash in his first fucking lap. iconic -love it when commentators say "oh thats a reaaaally interesting strategy call" its clearly code for what the fuck are they doing -i'm so jealous of yall who got to watch this race season live this opening round is SUCH a narratively beautiful start of the season and dts captures it well!!

e2: -i've started watching this while manicly cleaning my apartment so i have nothing to say abt the beginning bit soz -max f cameo!!! v important 2 me :) -michael & daniel are so kaylor coded to me. i know some ppl are like "oh they were never friends they were just coworkers" and i'm like CLEARLY thats full of shit just bc they've fallen out doesnt mean you need to retcon the friendship they had. its sad to see when it was good bc clearly there were good parts. if only we could know -this is the danny ric girlie orgin story 2 ME LETS FUCK SHIT UP -this is such an iconic lando episode 2 me as well! "1 nill down already fuck shit fuck" thats MY baby nothing has changed clearly -"the fireworks for me?" "they can be" 🥺🥺🥺🥺 -"what if i'm just a cunt" is such an important daniel quote to me it is actually deep LISTEN. why must we be expected to be calm n collected n positive in the face of adversity. why must we put on a brave face. our negative emotions deserve to exist without defining us. ANYWAY -i never even remember what exactly happens each monaco weekend i just know that ferraris gonna shit the bed somehow -OH this episode was the FIRST time i opened ao3 carlando interact for like 10 seconds at the end of the episode and i was immediately oh theres DEFINITELY fic of them fucking. in abundance. i just know it

e3: -having season 4 be the first season i watched just permanently altered my brain chemistry the 4433 brainrot is REAL they get near eachother on track i go NUTS they are everything to me. you'd ship them too if you werent a coward -LOVE every single segment with susie. she is so wise i could listen to her narrate the whole f1 season all day -pierre still doing red bull's dirty work i see OH MY GOD HES NEVER GONNA PICK YOU -ROSCOE -unfortunately i am still and will always be a mercedes girl in my SOUL. my bad -i think lewis is taking the piss when he talks abt not being an aggressive driver. is he the /most/ aggressive driver? no. but christian is unfortunately right. also reminds me of how in the 07-08 season there was a race where he got a huge penalty bc he was "too aggressive" and there was all sorts of talk abt how he was too aggressive of a driver 🙄🙄 anyway 4433 cinematic parallels -the way ppl STILL bring this crash up gets me mad like i promise no one was trying to have a nasty crash on purpose--they just happen sometimes. no one should fault lewis for celebrating either--it was his home race and he could've easily not know and you think max would want his apologies and platitudes? NO. also currently they're both clearly not hung up on it so idk why (mostly max fans) (only some obviously) are still hung up on it. "lewis could've killed max" and max could've killed lewis in monza in that case they're fucking even let it fucking go -but there is no way that boy wasnt CONCUSSED as FUCK you can just tell with that 1000 yard stare they shouldn't have let him drive again so quickly tbh -however i DO agree w toto saying max gets away w/ driving aggressively bc most ppl will bail out and i do think that is somewhat true. not to say max is the only driver with this mindset but i do think theres some truth to that -aldskjfalksjfalksdjf im looking up articles abt the incident and this reddit thread said that alex thought the penalty was fair i am KISSING HIM on the mouth

e1: -i'm glad that i /have/ seen lawrence stroll outside of his businessman mode (chloes wedding pictures came to mind) because i'm SURE he's a kind n lovely guy but holy cow -otmar has littlefingercore advisor to the king energy. i'll say it. -lance is very adorable bbgirl here if i became a fan in 2020 i would've been easily convinced -lando is so LIL im so excited to see more of him~ -[lando squeals] subtitle is always so funny to me. print that on a t shirt -the pink mercedes drama is So Juicy 2 me i wish i was there 2 see it -this poor mclaren man trying to spoonfeed lando pr friendly sentences -cash is king? cash is king. is SO iconic 2 me. the sport is not the same w/o sewis

(he wont) -love lando celebrating his p3 start (face down ass up) -being hyped up abt a potential first alex win while knowing how it ends is PAINFUL -also contextualizes alex's anger around checo only getting a 5 second penalty in singapore this year, and hes right!!! its not fucking enough -lando's first podium is so SO special tho!! and netflix do an amazing job with it with the shots of the garage going nuts and the music swelling its just incredible -and the contrast with alex's missed podium is so well done narratively. another very great episode from a writing/editing standpoint

e3: -age old mercedes driver right of passage: listening to lewis sing next door -having watched the brawn docuseries now--i think there are some interesting parallels between valtteri&lewis vs rubens&michael. theyre very different people but how many others have had that experience with a teammate like that? -always LOVE the bits with valtteri in finland my soul yearns for scandanavia -BROCEDES INTERLUDE AAAAAAAAAAAAAA -i do like these lil bits about time penalties explained in episodes because before watching races you really underestimate how much they can effect races. i'm looking forward to seeing netflix continue to use these instances for drama (especially season 4 max v lewis 👀) -TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN. FUCK YOU

dts s2 e8-10

ep8: -this is cool to watch with the context of nico back in f1 today -theres just something so funny about when drivers get told something they dont wanna hear over the radio and its just dead silence. theyre real for that tho -nico/cyril jet "therapy" conversation is so iconic TO ME -i now know how alain prost is yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy -i think both of daniel's one year teammate tenures (nico & estie) are both sooooooooo interesting. ship wise fascinating. underrated as hell. -neurodivergent daniel propoganda "nico huuuuuulkenburg" is 100% a vocal stim -ESTIE my beloved. the original Toto Wolff's Special Lil Guy™ -no its so nice to see him in this gap where it was all up in the air knowing how much he's cemented his place in formula 1 now. (like i KNOW that alpine is a shitshow rn but he could easily find another seat. even if not he's made his mark :) -this makes me excited to see nico in the new season. he makes pretty good tv and it'll be cool to see how much of that has changed with age! -another narratively well done episode. nico's only episode and a wonderful one. i also noticed the music a lot, i think they way they used music to build tension was rly cool and not something i've noticed in general. really really good episode

ep9: -"george, i think, is a one-in-a-million driver" claire i LOVE U. ur brain is so big and correct -hes such a BABY here -i really really need a return of a williams focused episode next season. badly -claire you are so strong and brave for surviving this shitshow i dont know how yall did it -i wish this episode was put earlier in the season, i dont know why they didnt? since it focuses a lot on preseason/testing drama why is it episode 9? i know its never perfectly chronological but they couldve at least tried

ep10: -the pierre v alex narrative is so silly when clearly red bull sees them as disposable. like babes neither of you are EVER gonna be enough because youre not max :/ like 2 women fighting to be the favorite mistress of a man who will NEVER leave his wife!!!!! -"if [mclaren] continue this trend, they could be competing with the likes of red bull, possibly ferrari and mercedes for podiums" i just love a good quote that ages well. thank you will buxton -this sebchal crash is SO canada 2010 sebmark coded TO ME -the dread that filled my body when i realized. oh this is the lewis stops alex from getting a podium episode. pain incoming -seeing how happy pierre is abt the podium is So Nice knowing whats coming!!! dts s2 e6-7

e6 -ALEX EPISODE -every time ive watched this episode and he says his sisters name (zoe) it's startled me. i anticipate it and it surprises me every time -"we are trying to give young people a chance. That's part of the Red Bull philosophy." (Helmut Marko) oh ok. oh OK. OH OK. -i need him biblically. i need him in a way that's concerning for feminism -OK UM so i watched the first half in the morning and the second half after my shift and i was like. im so wiped idk how emotionally i'll even be able to engage -and damn do i truly underestimate my ability to be affected by something i've seen and heard about over and over again. -ok but the parallels between alex's mom talking about being scared as a mom vs daniel's mom talking about the same thing in s1e1 -random cate sighting is crazy i almost forgot how she dated pierre lmao -god i NEED an alex/williams episode next season i miss him on this show soooooo much -its silly but every time i see that clip of anthoine kissing his girlfriend its instant waterworks

e7: -first of all obsessed with seb saying y'all. love him miss him sm -GOD you can just see how charles still has hopes and dreams here he hasnt been crushed and hardened by the ferrari machine yet. what a sweet time for him :/ -sebchal makes me so *gnawing at the bars of my enclosure* -part of me wishes they showed charles' win at monza w/ more charles centric focus? it was such a big deal for him and i think it deserved more. THAT BEING SAID it does set up the sebchal rivalry dynamic well, which is what the documentarians chose to focus on, and for that they did well. -i could say the same for seb's singapore win. it makes sense from a storytelling persepctive to focus on these from the rivalry lense but damn do i know these are iconic wins for both of them and its bittersweet that they don't get their own focus -i'm so confused how charles literally looks straight down the camera lense and says that he was signed with the knowledge that he'd be second to seb, and then gets MAD when they prioritize seb???? like when they prioritize charles seb has ever right to be mad bc that goes against what he was told but charles?????? i know that its bc theyre gonna be super competitive no matter what they're told bc its in their nature but Come Onn -"every world champion has what I term an 'inner bastard', and its the ability to make the tough decision when you have to." i do NOT take will buxton slander on this blog. i love this quote sm and as a baby fan it was big in understanding driver v team politics. it is SUCH an important skill to know when to be a team player and when to be selfish, and the ones who figure it out are the ones who maximize best outcomes. dts s2 e3-5

e3: -i love this episode because i've always said that carlos & daniel's careers are parallels. their journey's could've easily been swapped based on luck and chance. as will buxton points out if things had gone differently it could've ended carlos' career. so much chance is involved in this sport, more than we're usually comfortable with acknowledging!! -daniel backing into dany is 23japan checo pitstop level of absurdity. love it -i hope cyril was fucking him silly. tbh -"where's the fucking boot?" top 10 dts quotes -i miss the orange/blue racesuits So Much btw

e4: -so so so excited for this one -flashback sequence abt mercedes rise to power makes me emotional. v motivated to go back and watch those years -also is somehow comforting in the midst of the rb domination era. mercedes were SO dominant at this time it felt impossible to overcome, and if they could fall off so could red bull, so could anyone, its all constantly changing and thats good! -"be a bit more intelligent today than normal" obsessed. gunther v toto german-off is iconic -lewis casually talking abt having a ONE HUNDRED AND FOUR DEGREE FEVER and still coming to work is insane to me. there should be more safety standards regarding illness fr -the side effect of me watching s4 first for the first time ever is that max v lewis is wired into my brain anytime they're mentioned or seen next to eachother, on track or off i go INSANE all the connections in my brain go haywire -long pit stops are always legitimately PAINFUL to watch. not that i could do better in a high pressure situation like that, but i'm just wincing the whole time waiting for it to be over

ep5: -love how this episode starts with christian horner being choked out by his child -hope whichever daughter of his who said her favorite driver was lewis knows how iconic she was for that -loved max's smize in that photoshoot. he's a natural, i was not insane when i wrote that model!max au -pierre is SO little. i'm so glad he stopped shaving that mustache it is SUCH a better look -pierre's narrative is a) classic red bull chew em up spit em out but b) also highlights how EXPECTED both nyck & logan's struggle was last year. it is NORMAL to struggle when you first get in an new car when you're in your first or second year. anyway so glad my baby (logan) is in a team that doesnt take a red bull approach!!! -geri insisting she works harder than christian is so iconic AND shes right -pierre getting lapped by max -> daniel getting lapped by lando in s4 are cinematic parallels btw -this is another NARRATIVELY well done episode!! obviously i already know whats going to happen, but even if i didn't the episode creates this sense of increasing dread as it goes on, where you can maybe guess where its going but gets you to hope so strongly it doesnt. the peeling off of all of pierre's stickers is just the final blow and the PERFECT choice to end the arc

e7: -romain grosean is a perfect narrative precursor to mick schumacher and NO ONE TALKS ABOUT IT -ok gunther fuckin complains abt the whole romain not being at the party joke being taken out of context but bro, outside of that party he was saying simular levels of criticism at romain and ESPECIALLY post mick like. bro same story different driver good fucking riddance bro -haas episode so i have way less 2 say than usual sorry lmao

ep8: -pre-ferrari fred! i havent watched this since way before fred was announced for ferrari -charles is so little AND i must say charles/marcus underrated as a ship. pre-sebchal sebchal if i dare say. -marcus' crash was literally so insane. i've seen so many and since he was FINE its not rly talked abt but any crash were every suspension breaks is crazy 2 me -on the flipside of previous episodes feeling like we're jumping in just towards the end of a story, it is so so lucky that we get charles story from season 1! very cool to see the very start of the narrative, and done well -unintended but does give me good context to marcus leading into me watching more indycar next year hopefully! i'm still #teampato after their indy500 shunt tho :P

e5: -it feels bittersweet bc the whole shitshows with mclaren & force india feel like we're stepping in at the end of a narrative. this would've been so much more compelling if we'd had a few seasons before this one to rly set the stage before shit hits the fan -we dont get estie focused episodes a lot so its nice to see again! -back 2 my first point i truly think. if either dts started earlier or this force india drama was dragged out a bit longer, vijay rly could've been gunther steiner levels of good tv. hope the alternate universe where that happened appreciates what they have -seeing ppl who become much bigger characters years later, just like in the background is CRAZY (esp otmar and andrea stella) -makes me rly look forward to watch the full 2018 season someday bc this silverstone race looks wild -love this pre marriage/divorce estie & nando battle. if they only knew -its truly unbelievable to me that haas used to be this high in the standings. how did they fuck it all away -god otmar had to drop the oscar nando/oscar news last year AND the force india got sold news in 2018?? this guy has been delievering Ls longer than i thought

e6: -i've posted abt this before but i really do think everyone needs to be reminded that you can criticize the financial priveledge that lance stroll had in the sport without personally attacking the guy and his talent. especially compared side by side to esteban here. 'lance's dad just loves him 🥺' ok and so does estebans but only one has the power to break the game to give his son an advantage we're allowed to be critical of that -AGAIN if we could've had dts a year earlier the checo v estie coverage would've been DELICIOUS. anyway #teamestie4life -'he's gonna have a child, i don't know if he wants to die or something.' bring back esteban no holds barred. iconic.
