#i stopped halfway thru HAJHAAJA #i think im coming 2 the conclusion that i can only rly appreciate stamp from an outside perspective #i.e when ppl post edits or whatever #even from like a Show Design standpoint i think the pacing is really bizarre #and im not even talking ab the story itself right. like moreso just character interactions and expressions #nothing really lingers or lasts and i feel like theres no big Oomph to scenes #when i saw the edit of knives fighting the guards it looked SOOO COOL #but when it happened in the show like.. the music wasnt rly fitting and theres a lack of environmental sfx outside of blood splats / metal #its soo hard to explain but somethinf is just MISSINGGG .. also when vash passed out for like .2 sexonds i laughed what was that #blink and u miss it kind of thing.. and vash losing his arm didnt feel suspenseful .. like i want to wnjoy the edits so much #*enjoy the reimagining #but you barely see luida (WAS THAT LUIDA FRR HWLP SHE LOOKS SO DIFFERENT) #you see hee for two seconds and suddenly this like monotone convo turns into omg vash angel arm WHAAT but u arent actually saying WHAAAT bc #u ddint have time to process anything and then its alr over . i just cant get into it im sry IM SRYY!! #and . i do generally just pref the structure of max and the intentional narrative choices w everything #the way knives cuts his arm off in anger in max vs like ‘to save himm❤️’ in stamp is much better @ characterizing him me thinks .. #overall i just think the manga had a better idea of what msg it wanted to convey whereas stamp is just a mixed grabbag of max references #trigun #trigun spoilers

ok, so

there’s two posts I’m gonna be making for the assassin’s creed rewrite au. one which is just a long post about how the Toba catastrophe happened in the rewrite, as well as some supplementary info about the PoEs and why Desmond was chosen for his specific role.

and the actual chapter I’ve been vaguing about all this time. tbh, it’s not going to be the full chapter, just about 30 pages worth simply bc I realized that in striving for perfection, i wasn’t actually making any more posts about protocreed bc i didn’t either want to spoil anything or get people’s hopes up. but. the chapter ends when Desmond and Alex part ways, rather than when Desmond goes back to pick up Elijah like it was originally meant to, as it transitions a lot better into the next chapter which is in Alex’s PoV

honestly, I was making an assassin’s creed only rewrite before I got back into prototype but it was ideas from the wonderful @teecupangel @wolfofartblock and @neroangelus that made me rethink my entire rewrite to make it protocreed (as well as the art and fic that they had on their blogs that made me feel less like i was going crazy for even having the idea, god bless!) and @zero-saito @dezmondmyles @kingbob2-0 for asking me questions about the au when I started to get a bit lost in the overall process.

Like, if it weren’t for y’all and the entire protocreed community on tumblr, as well as my irl writers group, I probably would’ve never shared anything about this au and would’ve only spoken up about it once the game itself was complete (which is at the very least not coming out for a year, bc I need to make sure all the new mechanics i have planned work out when in testing and are fun to play) and that would’ve been kinda a bummer.

special shout outs to @saturnineaqua who was one of the first people (and my mutual!! :D) who liked my posts about AC and stuff, I was honestly so nervous about posting anything about it, I was about to delete the post minutes after making it, but your initial like was what got me to keep it up.

I'm currently working on a ms that has some significant classism issues, and it's making me want to chew off my own arms.

Writers. Please. Whatever historical period you're writing, whatever genre, whatever the makeup of your worldbuilding... poverty doesn't make people immoral. Lack of education doesn't make people stupid.

I think the vast majority of people know this, but "The Poors" should not exist in your story to either be "content with their lot" and whimsically prop up wealthier characters' privilege, or to be handwaved or judged as venal, desperate, or cruel by those wealthier characters, especially with the condescending veneer of pity.

Sure, poverty is cruel and can change how you think. It can veer you towards sketchy decisions, limit your options, and embitter you. It can normalise certain things in a community that you don't see in wealthier places. But a lazy caricature of the type of person who is poor is a bullshit avoidance of those issues, and it's pure classism.

By all means, write antagonists or unpleasant characters who are poor. But, for the love of fuck, give them some interior motivation beyond being poor. Contextualise them. Show some variety.

If you've never lived under the poverty line, if you're not sure how to write it, do some research. You have the sum of human knowledge in a tiny computer in your pocket. It can show you worlds you never knew existed, and viewpoints far outside your own.
