Pizzatober Day 7 - Taunt! Some unique taunts for Pep, but instead of pop culture references, they are all references to art I have done/my own lore jfdkfd
Flower Crown | Floor Time | Knife Pep
Put Him In Da Box | Delivery! | Disco Pep
??? ??? | Pep's Peppino Disguise (also a reference to Peppino's idle in-game) | Sopping Wet Creature (Another link to them)
Also a little bit of a spoiler, but ??? with no censor bc I actually drew his eyes this time! Fun fact: usually I do not do that if I am gonna censor it, so all the censor bars/scribbles don't have anything under them!!!
Another Fun Fact, the image of him looking in the mirror, he has no head at all!!!
That's not foreshadowing anything or anything

Heyyyy Jester. As always I hope you are just living your best life! I really Do. 😇
I don't know if this has been asked but seeing as the story leans into it I was wondering how the ROs would react if MC took a hit for them and got hurt.
Tho i feel like... you are gonna tell me I'm asking spoilers aren't you....👀
aww, hello!! i've lost my voice so i can't say i'm living my absolute best life (i'm a big talker lol), but i'm mostly good!!
i hope you and your family are well too :)!
after a little bit of consideration i've actually decided that i should be able to safely answer this, if i don't go into too much detail, so you're in luck ;)
An active battlefield. Not quite what you were used to but, of course, that's likely why the Queen had insisted on doing a simulation (something about everyone having to be prepared, you honestly couldn't pay too much attention as you were hustled out onto the palace grounds). It had been going well, you could dodge and parry and strike, then rinse and repeat, until one guard got slightly too close to hitting your charge and all you could do was throw your arm in the way of their blade...
---
A. Bellefleur;
It wasn't serious. MC was fine. It wasn't serious. MC was fine. It wasn't- There was blood. The blade had slice over your arm, opening a mostly superficial wound into it, though there was blood soaking into your sleeve. The guard was apologising profusely, you were ensuring them you were fine, there were no hard feelings...except. Except A. felt guilt, a burning in their chest that threatened to consume them. They knew it would come, they had felt it once before, as soon as they realised what had happened.
You don't see them again until their next meeting, and you can hear the scratch in their voice when they speak, as though they had been crying for a long, long time.
K. Valiev;
They're at your side in a second, hands hovering over your arm, not quite touching (as though they were afraid to touch you), worry creasing their features. The guard that had hit you, however, seemed petrified, his apology yelped out like a wounded animal's cry, before he scurried away from the two of you, pointedly avoiding your gaze.
They get you settled in the infirmary, and then disappear for a while. When they reappear it's like nothing has happened, they bring you food and drink, and watch over you carefully. You notice, however, that the guard who injured you refuses to approach you, and you could swear he looks afraid if you get too close...
A. Caras;
Their gripes echo over the sounds around you as they march over ("Are you stupid? This is a practice, I'm not supposed to get work during a practice!"), their bag of equipment thrown over their shoulder, having gone to collect it after you protected them. The guard apologises to both of you and scuttles off, and the fire in Caras' eyes turns on you. You don't dare move as they patch you up, disinfecting and wrapping your wound with a firmness that would have been a little frightening if you hadn't known for certain they were being careful not to hurt you.
You notice, being that close, that their hands are trembling ever so slightly as they work, and when they stand they make sure to get close enough so that only you can hear them.
"Don't ever do that again."
They don't sound like they're just being self-deprecating or protective this time.
T. Bellefleur;
It wasn't serious. MC was fine. It wasn't serious. MC was fine. It wasn't- There was blood. That whelp had dared to touch you, to injure you. Their claymore was at his throat in seconds, an almost cruel grin pulling at their lips.
"Aaaand you're dead, better luck next time, hey?"
You had never seen them so angry, their usual bored monotone becoming hard and threatening, mirroring the look in their eyes. It softened, ever so slightly, when they looked at you, but the majority of it morphed into shame.
You don't see them for the rest of the week.
M. Serrel;
You don't see them during the rest of the battle, and you don't see them until Caras has left you alone in the infirmary that evening, at which point they seem to just sort of...appear.
"Now, Dove, what did you go and do that for? You know I can take care of myself."
They are chiding you light-heartedly, but there is something sad in their expression, behind their eyes, as their gaze lingers on your wounded arm. And they know. They know that you know. You can see it in the way they pull back, the way they drop a lingering kiss to the back of your hand and leave you ("to rest", they say, though you know that's not it).
"I couldn't bear to lose you too."
You don't see them again until you've healed, and when you do, they seem intent on pretending that nothing ever happened in the infirmary that night

Got an Idea
In the world of "Bite Me" vampires are real tiny parasitic things, right? But they're still vampires. Does that mean there are people like paranormal hunters or something? There's so much potential in these...
THIS IS A GREAT QUESTION!
So to avoid spoilers I'm going to be pretty vague-
Vampires in the Bite Me universe are abnormal but not paranormal (though I will be doing a paranormal au because there is SO MUCH potential so by all means I can try to answer some more trad vampire stuff if talking about the potential au).
THOUGH- that doesn't mean that the tiny lil bloodsucking activity has gone completely unnoticed right? I mean, Aedes can't possibly be the only vampire who's been caught...
A BIT MORE ELABORATION
Vampires are completely normal biologically speaking, in that they don't have supernatural powers. The vampires in the Bite Me universe are essentially just a type of well adapted parasite. Some lil tidbits about their biology-
⚠ Nerd Alert ⚠
They are nocturnal- and hunt at night. Their eyes are adapted for low light conditions, though they can still move freely in the light.
They have an instinctual fear towards light (feels open, the feeling of being watched etc...) essentially to avoid predation by animals or being spotted by humans
Vampires have keen senses (hearing, smell, taste, sight) and phenomenal reaction time in order to help hunt. With their processing speed and keen senses, unless you catch one in the act or manage to corner/trap one, vampires are extremely hard to catch by just grabbing (cough cough, unless a certain lil someone likes to be grabbed) His senses dull when not in active "bloodlust" in order to keep the mind from being perpetually overwhelmed by everything all at once, though even dulled they are remarkably keen.
They are stronger than humans (relatively speaking), and quite durable. They have a high density of fast twitch muscles that helps further bolster their reaction time.
I've dabbled with the possibly of them having mild electroreception (basically in order to have a 6th sense towards heart beats as the muscle contracts) BUUUT I want to play around with the speculative biology with that. Mammals don't typically have an electrosense (more of a fish thing) but there are exceptions- yet those are still water based (with the semi exception of the echidna) so I'd have to do some pretty hefty playing around if I wanted to make it work.
They're allergic to garlic (along with a lot of other foods). Carnivorous, especially blood based parasitic diets leave an organism with an extremely reduced gut (Fun fact, theres actually a reason behind Aedes' slutty lil waist 😭) so they typically lack the ability to digest some harsher irritants, garlic being a big one. The smell is also extremely pungent so, yes, it absolutely will keep Aedes away (though it would have to be crushed)
Vampires in Bite Me do have one ability that feels almost supernatural- they are natural mimics. Vampires have incredible vocal control and ranges. This is incredibly useful to both ward off predators and lure in prey. Because of this- there are some typical tactics they use to avoid being caught (Some in more remote regions will mimic a rattlesnake rattle to deter a person from coming closer if they get spotted- and are usually able to slip away while the human calls pest control). This skill has led to both folklore and urban legends, about weird sounds occurring in strange locations. With their speed and skills in avoiding detection, a person would likely assume their house is haunted well before thinking theres a little vampire running around their house
Typically their bite is mildly numbing- though a very small number of people have a mutation that makes the numbing nearly completely ineffective (June being one of them). In that case, the numbing tends to work against its intended purpose- the numbing instead being noticeably tingling, and without the numbing agent, the anticoagulation factors and vasodilators within the saliva increase sensation in tandem with the increased bloodflow to the bite area, as well as giving the overall area a warm sensation.
WHEW
That was a chunky lore dump.

Hi! I’ve recently visited your page again, after a longer tumblr break and saw your posts about people’s comments on your fics. It made me both sad and angry. Sad because they’ve managed to take away your joy for writing Supercorp and angry that people feel like they can type out any hurtful thought that goes through their head, for a thing that is absolutely free and made with so much passion and care. 😒🤬
For what it’s worth, I always loved the way you write both of them. AND the fact that you don’t ignore Kara’s trauma and struggles. “i’m spilling all my words (but you keep 'em to yourself)” will forever be one of my favorites. Thank you for the hours of joy and fun you have given us! I hope you know that for every entitled commenter there are ten times more people who love your works! 🫵🏻🤘🏻
ahh thank you so much, i appreciate this. i have to say, sc still has me by the neck, i do plan to finish that fic & maybe write some more but it won't be anytime soon. i had hoped that the fandom would calm down with the kara hate after the show ended but i was wrong, it still hasn't changed.
when you've been writing for sc for so long, the frustration builds up, & there have been many times where i felt like i needed to (& did) restrict myself when writing them. it stops being enjoyable when people are constantly calling kara 'stupid' & insult her in many different ways for not being the happy sunshine kara danvers who takes care of lena all the time.
personally i love reading & writing the reverse situation (lena who's being the patient loving one & also the shoulder for kara to lean on) because the show didn't give us enough of that. unfortunately, people don't respond well whenever kara is struggling with her issues & lena isn't the one who's being comforted.
i write what i like & that's what i'm always going to do, but this build up of frustration over the past years & always anticipating kara hate every fic/chapter killed the joy a lot.
i've seen some authors speak about this too & it's genuinely sad to see! people can like & dislike whatever but it's important to note that there are readers out there who don't realize that their personal feelings against kara also affect authors & their love for writing supercorp

Alexa!! I am begging to hear your director’s commentary on literally any part of Like I Can, I’ll take even the tiniest crumbs bc I am so in love with that fic 🥰
Let me throw crumbs around like confetti! I’ve got at least a handful or two! 😂
Here’s a good one, before Bradley has his dramatic no way speech in Part 1, Natasha was TOTALLY PLANNING on setting up Sweet Girl up with none other than everyone’s favorite Meek Engineer! And I did even think about having her go on a few dates with him! But once I thought of Bradley showing up and having the terms of the bet change, I knew it was the right direction to take their journey.
In Part 2, I loved how Bradley was absolutely stewing over her clothes. Like he was personally offended that she’d bother to dress up for those dates. The moment where he interrupted her date with Jake’s guy with the poor choice in beer (sorry to any MichUltra fans) where he touches the ties of her top, may or may not have been inspired by the moment in the Hunger Games when Peeta touches her braid at the end of the tournament. I think it’s such a lovely moment of just wanting to be close to someone, and I loved letting Bradley indulge in something similar. He still didn’t know why he was jealous at the time, he just knew he liked how that top looked and needed to touch it before someone else did.
And the ending line in ‘Days Like This’ was actually a call back to the story of when Bradley took her out to the amusement park when she was mourning her parent’s divorce in Part 1. I felt it was a lovely little echo, and showed how much history they have and how he’s always been the one she’s trusted the most.
I hope those were some satisfactory crumbs, Nova! 🤍
