A beautiful iterator OC of @ideavian, Eternal Enigma!

I realy like his design and story, it's so creative! An iterator that doesn't try to solve the Great Problem, but actively goes against it (as far as I understand his story). Fascinating concept in a world that craves death.

Also, ideavian's art is so good?? Like, how do a human do that??? My good sir, have you sold your soul? Seriously, if you didn't see their art you absolutly should.

Also also: sorry for not posting anything for some time. Art block hit me hard and then a dog broke my finger :( Thankfully it was on the left hand so I can still draw!

Okay so awhile ago I wanted to see how tall was the super mario bros super show cast and how tall are the super mario game cast was and this is what I got.

Left is the super show and right is super mario

Now take this height chart with a grain of salt for the super show chart I just went by what the show, showed us and just made some guess but I think I got close or on point and as for the right picture I took some of matpat guess and mixed them with some game pictures to round it out but it might be close too.

But yeah when you but them together it's kinda jarring how tall or big some characters are but what do you think?

I'm an American goofball, so I had to translate the metric measurements into imperial measurements so I could wrap my head around them. Okay...

Super Mario Brothers Super Show:

Luigi: 185.4 cm (6'0)

Princess Toadstool: 187.5 cm (6'1)

Mario: 150.5 cm (4'10)

Toad: 100.1 cm (3'3)

King Koopa: 187.9 (6'3)

Mario Games:

Luigi: 172.7 cm (5'7)

Princess Peach: 174.2 cm (5'8)

Bowser: 213.9 cm (7'0)

I'm startled by how tall Princess Toadstool is and how short game-verse Toad is, but I think you're pretty close, especially since many people claim that Game Mario is canonically 5'1 (though I'm yet to track down any official source for this info.) The one thing I'd argue is that Princess Peach is at least a solid 5'10, since Princess Daisy is often portrayed as taller than Luigi yet shorter than Peach. Gotta save some room between the lines for her.

What's your opinion on Meruem x Pouf? :3

I saw this ask come in yesterday but wanted to wait until I had enough time to give it my full attention 👀

The short answer is that I support it with a resounding yes courtesy of the illustrious @ravenfeet222 👀✌️💖

The long answer is gonna give me a lot of space to talk about pouf which is why I wanted to wait to answer this 😭 Gonna live up to the url for just a moment 👀

ALRIGHT SO, let's talk about pouf for just a second. I truly do feel that a LOT of people missed the major points of pouf's character just because his arc had a lot of negative growth, plus the more flamboyant aspects of his character also seem to have made some people write him off U_U I've done a few large scale analysis pieces on him but I'm gonna reiterate a few points for the sake of the discussion at hand, and they're all points about how pouf interacts with and perceives the world around himself.

Pouf is afraid. It's explicitly said in canon multiple times that as the arc progresses, he understands everyone around himself less and less and grows increasingly more afraid of all the change. Pouf is also emotionally disregulated, he shows intense anger, he cries like his heart is breaking, all with little prompting. One thing I clung to was a line that seemed to be treated like a joke - pouf commenting that soldiers had no need for memory or emotions, ironic coming from the most emotional character in the arc, but what I believe it hints is that pouf doesn't view his own emotions as out of line. He thinks he's acting in a perfectly reasonable manner and minimizes his emotional expression to not conflict with his own personal image of being a perfect soldier (on his good days - there's still plenty where he thinks very poorly of himself).

Okay so pouf is afraid and he struggles! Where do we take this? My argument is gonna get a little shaky bc I'm a pouf scholar and haven't studied meruem to the same extent but I'm not gonna let that stop me 👀 In my eyes, meruem's arc progresses in an opposite manner to pouf's - meruem grows more stable and trusting while pouf feels increasingly more suspicious and borderline paranoid of the world around himself; meruem's desires become more grounded while pouf's grow increasingly more frantic and based in fear. They counteract each other in ways that would be conducive to each other's growth, with special regards to meruem acting as an anchor for pouf's fears and general anxiety about the world. Meruem, judging from his earlier-arc interactions, could still get caught up in his mind similar to pouf, but focusing on asking himself what he's meant to be doing, what his purpose is, and pouf would easily draw him out of that. I'd also like to believe that, somewhere in there, pouf learns to be more of an individual, likely with a little help from meruem pushing him towards his interests and helping him grow beyond what pouf initially considers to be his purpose.

I'm not generally someone who cares much for shipping (as someone who's aro and ace, though I do have very contrasting feelings for specific fictional guys lmao) but I can definitely see the dynamic between the two growing into something mutually supportive if both of them were given time to grow (which canon didn't do U_U). Let this also be my way of saying that I have strong opinions on the ants and the caa as a whole and I wish I saw it get discussed in a greater capacity but you can't win them all, I put out what I can and am always glad to be asked about them 😤 Also I just think that pouf deserves to be happy, the man entered a mental health spiral and dropped dead imagining himself as a failure; he's. very personally important to me and to see him get put in a situation where he can start to recover and become healthier means a lot to me, so that's also a bonus ✨️

i really need to rewatch uwe before the upcoming season finale and properly gather my thoughts on it but i really really like the show! its goofy and cartoony style paired with a serious story about these warriors' souls stuck in an eternal war with the evil, the slight psychological horror of being used as hosts for said souls and almost completely discarded and disregarded (though it doesn't say too much about this, this is more my overthinking), the steampunk elements, the character designs, the voice acting... all of it. despite that i still have some irks with it, like the pacing. this show would've definitely benefited from having more episodes. for such a story heavy show 10 episodes doesn't feel enough. it worked with primal, genndy tartakovsky's previous show, because there was little to no dialogue there. it did an excellent job at making the viewer understand what was happening with mere facial expressions. but uwe characters have a lot to say, a lot to work out between each other. and it's clear tartakovsky wants to tell more. they need more episodes to do that. i hope the show gets renewed for a second season. i need everything that i'm extremely confused about to be addressed and cleared up

I've written this as a reply to someone and i wanted to make it its own post bc i want to know some opinions on it.

Sidenote: i am referring to Dream in general as seen through the scope of the show (i'm in the process of reading the comics, about as far as where the show ends by now).

In the case of loving/being love by Morpheus (specifically his LACK of ongoing relationships)

Personally I think Morpheus loving someone would be incredibly overwhelming. Like here is a being who knows everything about everyone who has ever existed and who is a masterclass in storytelling. He knows the epic love stories, has created and unfolded them a thousand, a million, times over. Each time it's something new and exciting. But, on the other end, he also knows every great tragedy at the hands of love and has also retold those over and over. I think each relationship where he loves someone else-- platonic or otherwise-- is just 0 or 1,000 with no inbetween. Here is someone who knows every minute detail of you, he knows how your story plays out and his role within it.

So either he goes hurtling towards the end at full speed with a forced disconnection from actually learning and experiencing the full spectrum of emotion loving and losing brings. Or he lets them play out and feels those things and puts himself as the main character in one of his stories.

We all realize by now that he holds a lot of other people's emotions, conscious and unconscious, feeling them for *himself* would probably break him AND the dreaming. It's one thing to be able to separate himself from what the dreamers experience by not having personal experience with it, it's another to have active hurt inside of him, y'know? It would just be impossible for him to hold inside and keep himself together. He'd wind up as anthropomorphic goo scattered across the cosmos.

In certain instances of the comics (and as with john dee in the show), it emphasizes that what happens to Morpheus affects the Dreamers. When he feels ecstacy, his Dreamers do, too. When he is being hurt, his Dreamers hurt. I think, at least in his mind, it's an act of self preservation and in protection of his realm. He takes his role seriously, he holds himself above mortals (or at least adjacent, but still as something other than), and love is dangerous and cruel (it belongs to Desire, after all). I think there is nothing he would want so severely as to risk his realm.

In conclusion, outwardly, his lack of ongoing relationships is more a testament to the stick of responsibility his siblings think he has up his ass. But I think, inwardly, Morpheus feels too much and too severely to love just one someone or something over all of his Dreamers.

And so, all of this, at the end of the day, just makes the people/beings he DOES care for (lucienne, hob, etc) incredibly significant. These are those who he has seen the heart of and determined them WORTH the pain of love. Bc Let's face it, without pain, love is irrelevant. So I think YEAH. Loving Morpheus is kinda easy (once you get passed his general stubborn dumbassery), but being loved BY Morpheus would be overwhelming. Worldchanging, even.
