DREAMING OF A WHITE CHRISTMAS ෆ GOJO SATORU

“do you think it’s gonna snow this year?” gojo asks, voice hush in the darkness of your bedroom as he rests his head in his hands, his hands resting flatly on your stomach as you try to watch the movie you have flickering on the television. it’s a classic christmas movie, something gojo had insisted on putting in, but he’s not even paying attention as he looks out the window to the calming night sky.

you hum, head tilting to the side to look outside with him, the nightlife calm and serene for once as you run your hands through the top parts of his hair—fluffy and silky. his eyes are doing that thing, where they almost close before he’s opening them again, indicating a sort of sleepiness that invades the bones. “maybe. why don’t you wish for it for christmas?”

“wishing for things for christmas is for little kids.” he sticks his bottom lip out in an exaggerated pout, pressing his ear to your chest as he sighs loudly. “my baby thinks i’m a baby.”

“sometimes you act like one.” you muse, looking away innocently as he jolts up from his position with a scandalized look on his face, mouth open wide. there’s a beat, as if he’s waiting for an apology that he’s certainly never going to get before he lays back down, grumbles leaving his lips rapidly. “case in point.”

“whatever.” he turns over now, facing away from you but sticks his head back ever so slightly so he’s still touching you. you’re not sure if he means to, but even if he were upset, he makes sure that the two of you are always touching. “you’re so mean to me.”

you hum contemplatively, hands sifting through his hair idly as you watch the movie without truly watching it. “geto thinks i could be meaner.”

“and he also thinks that the moon is made out of cheese.” gojo retorts, huffing dramatically so his chest rises and falls as he turns his head to look at you through one eye. “so i’m not trusting him as a judge of character.”

“i mean, he was joking, right?”

gojo’s silence is your only answer.

“is it snowing?” you ask a moment later, eyes drifting from whatever scene was happening in the television to the window. you squint and lean forward a little, trying to see if if’s truly snowing out or if you’re just seeing things.

“snow?!” gojo is running to the window before you know what’s happening, nose pressed against the glass and breath fogging up the window as he marvels at the outside. “it’s snowing!! i manifested that shit, do you see it?!”

you’re content to stay in bed, in the warmth of your heated blankets and the soft cozy pillow you’d spent months choosing and the plush mattress that had cost you an arm and a leg to buy, but your darling boyfriend has other plans for you. with a hand gripped on one of your arms, he rips you out of bed with a gleeful shout, pulling you in the direction of the door. the door leading to the outside where it was cold and snowing.

“satoru!” you yelp, narrowly dodging the shoddily made snowball he’s made in the point two seconds you’d looked away. “do not hit me!”

the outside is mostly untouched, save for the few and far between feet marks of dogs and their walkers. there’s about a foot and a half of loose snow outside, which makes making snowballs difficult for your snow-haired boyfriend. he’s got his tongue stuck out as he attempts to press the snow together into a ball shape. “i can’t make this stupid snow work with me!”

“no snowmen tonight, then.” you groan, sitting down in the snow and feeling thankful your boyfriend had made you take out the snow pants from storage the other day.

gojo groans, falling down in a huff next to you before whining and rubbing his ass. while the snow had buffeted your fall, apparently gojo has fallen with a bit of force—meaning he’d have a nice purple bruise on his ass in the morning. “stupid snow. this isn’t at all what i wished for.”

“oh, so you admit you wished for it to snow?” you tease, bumping your shoulder into his with a soft chuckle.

the red of his cheeks is either his embarrassment or the cold winds biting at them, but you’d like to think it was the former. hard to embarrass, you enjoy flustering gojo whenever you can. “i mean—i didn’t not wish for it to snow.”

“you’re so childish.” you laugh, hand grabbing some snow and shoving it onto his reddened cheek, making him swipe at your hand and pull you closer to him through the snow. “but i love that about you.”

“you love all of me, right?” he whispers, eyes searching across your face as he tilts his head to the side. ever the confident man, you suppose he can have his moments of insecurity, too.

you nod, pressing your cold nose against his. “i love you. all of you, gojo satoru.”

“i love you.” he presses his lips to yours gently. “always.”

ok now hear me out!! i feel like y’all would lowkey have some of the best, most introspective conversations about life and living and what it means to be a human, while also having goofy moments where you just can’t stop laughing and you have a knot in your side that won’t go away. he’s always quietly doing things for you that make your life easier without you even noticing, like watering the plants or filling the brita (or better water filter ‘cause ik they lowkey lie), and he loves leaving you little notes of adoration around the room! the two of you spend time together reading on the couch, writing little notes and annotations in the margins, a matcha or a hot chocolate always on hand. he’s a little more reserved with his affections in public, opting to hold your hand or put an arm around your waist to make sure people know you’re his, but in private, he’s constantly kissing you and telling you he loves you! he wouldn’t force you to be more extroverted, but loves it when you decide to pop out of your shell and be a bit more ‘out there’ with his friends. he adores your introversion and is always looking to leave an event early if it means spending time together curled up on the couch watching a movie!

geto’s arms are starting to get tired, hands full of gifts and bags with tissue paper in them as he huffs softly, breath coming out in a soft little puff of mist as he waits for you to open the door. he’s been heaving gifts back and forth from the car to the house, but there’s been a light flurry of snow that makes his ears and nose burn.

“my love,” he mutters, groaning softly at the feeling of the bag handles cutting into his hand, “how many presents did you buy?”

your voice filters into the entryway as he tries to maneuver his snowy shoes off without his hands. “well, a lot. mostly ‘cause i kept seeing things that reminded me of you and i wanted to get them.”

his heart warms, because he knows you think of him and he can’t even be mad. “i thought we agreed to a budget of a hundred dollars.”

“you agreed.” you’re working on a project in the kitchen, hands busy as you’re wrapping someone’s gift. “i didn’t agree to shit.”

he sighs, knowing that christmas presents are a fight he’ll never win with you, but he loves you just the same.

your laugh is just another sound to mix into the bustle that is the christmas market, but it makes his chest lift as he hears it. he loves your laugh. “i’m alright, kento, thank you. it’s not really that cold out.”

your reddening cheeks and sniffling would say otherwise, but he also knows that if you really truly needed help, you would ask him. he’s content to wind an arm around you to provide an extra bit of warmth and relishes the feeling of you resting your head against him. “if you say so. are you enjoying yourself?”

you nod fervently, pointing to the giant tree in the middle of the little square that’s decorated in big red bows, bright lights and shiny ornaments. “can you take my picture in front of the tree?”

watching you run towards the tree, avoiding people walking by, he pulls out his phone and snaps a few candid photos, wanting to preserve this memory as much as he can. your figure in the camera turns and he smiles at the little pose you make.

ok so based off of the extroversion and the activities and stuff, i can def see y’all being that loud couple at parties that jus seem to always attract crowds and are just so so fun that you can’t manage to look away from them. you are also both just always doing smth fun and going out together to dinners, parties, events—anything! i can see you both also having some rlly funny convos, like gut cramp funny. the two of you have to sometimes get told off by iwa for never being serious enough and he has to definitely keep the both of u in line. also the two of u being travel buddies??? you fs go w him to argentina, can even offer up to go on trips with him so he isn’t lonely, somewhere along the way you both just end up country hopping europe and backpacking across america or smth. its so adventurous and wild the relationship tbh. also,,, def see y’all settling down w a shit ton of pets. oikawa keeps saying no more cats n then all of a sudden he’s coming home w a stray n ur like… ok fine. n then u have three more cats cause ofc u cant leave her kittens behind.

“i mean,” you start, finally making your way back to his side and sliding your fingers into his, “he’s practically superstar level. megastar, even. there’s no way they don’t know about him.”

he nods sagely, already tugging you in the direction of another house that has a giant snowflake adorning the front of it. it seems as if the house’s light decoration also flickers and pulses in time with a jolly christmas tune playing on the speaker. oikawa is mesmerized instantly.

“oh my god, i want to die here.”

you feel like you kinda agree. here, where you’re happy and a bit chilly, but holding hands with the man you love. here, in this small christmasy town that seems to love their light decorations.

gojo loves taking you to concerts and even if it’s for an artist he doesn’t really know or like, he’ll absolutely sit through anything for you! he’d sit thru the worst metal concert ever and even learn a few songs ‘cause he loves you so much. he is more than likely to just take you on a long walk in the city somewhere on a lunch break or just any sort of free time and enjoys trying a random hole in the wall restaurant with you. sometimes they’re an absolute gem, and sometimes he has to order sushi or pizza just to erase the taste on his tongue. they can’t all be winners. he just enjoys trying new foods, experiencing new things and being with you as much as he can. he’s also vvv prone to randomly giving you a coffee as the day progresses and he knows you have things to do, or forcing you to sit in a cafe and do work/write and is perfectly content to just sit and watch you. his spontaneous nature, while seemingly just for fun, is just a way he likes to keep things interesting for you and is due to always wanting to see your face as it lights up with joy at other good shared experience.

putting the table cloth down on the table, you sigh, coming up to press your forehead to his shoulder and shaking your head. “no, satoru, because this is the main display tree, and if we have two ornaments of the same color next to each other, it clashes too much!”

“i mean, it’s only geto and shoko coming over,” he lets you pluck the ornament from his hands, “i’m not sure we need to worry about that stuff.”

“okay, they might not worry.” you start, putting it in a spot that gojo might not have even thought to put it. “i, however, would stare at it all night. i just want tonight to go well.”

“it’ll be so much fun, my love.” he reassures, kissing the side of your head gently. you might be a bit crazy when it comes to christmas decorations, but he loves you nonetheless. you were his favorite christmas present ever.

fave thing abt the holidays: definitely the weather, if we’re talking abt christmas in the northern hemisphere i love when it gets cold bc im so used to living in tropical weathers n i love wearing sweaters when i go out, also im lowkey domestic as fuck so spending it w the ppl i love in my family is also nice 🥹

personality wise i come off pretty unserious 80% of the time but it’s all in jest, i truthfully struggle with expressing my raw emotions/thoughts out loud sometimes so im more of an action person (my love language is quality time which explains it pretty well, i basically am very much a “i dont know how to tell you i like being with you in a way that fully encompasses it so let me make up for that by dedicating all of my time to you”). also my aesthetics/interests and overall likes tend to lean more towards anything alt/niche and ‘nonconforming’ as i have this innate desire to be as unique as possible (yes i was an edgy not like other girls teenager and yes i regret it) but i draw inspiration from the world around me and i could never see myself without the people i hold dear to my heart :’) im also a huge nerd lol im a stem major specifically astrophysics and i like to think im pretty smart but just suck at explaining/teaching things to others so yeah. this is probably more than u even needed from me but i hope this works !! 😭

“okay, princess.” he knows not to argue with you, because he’s smart and he loves you. “want to get a coffee at that cafe?”

“yes please.” you pout, tucking yourself as close to gojo as you can for warmth. putting an arm over your shoulder, he rests his head on your not-so-soggy hair. “i can pay.”

“don’t insult me like that.” he huffs, tugging on a piece of your hair gently. he loves to spoil you, and you just hate letting him have his way. too bad you were stuck with him now, though.

you have to hold back from rolling your eyes, hands holding onto his coat lightly as you allow your boyfriend to mess with your appearance. he was too much of a worrywart. were your cheeks a little red because the winter chill had been a bit too much? yes, but you could handle it. "you worry too much, suguru."

"no, trying to prevent you from getting a cold." he mutters, kissing your forehead gently as he continues walking in the cold night air. the two of you had decided to take a late night walk in the hopes of catching the first snow of the season, but you hadn't seen anything yet.

you laugh gently, hand intertwining with his as you rest your head against his shoulder. "that sounds exactly like you're worrying too much."

there's a single snowflake that lands on your hand, melting almost immediately upon touching your skin. "i worry because i love you."

this time of year was geto’s least favorite, when the holidays were getting more popular and the snow was beginning to fall. it was strange, lately, knowing that the snow flurries were later and later in the year until they were practically only ever in the new year. he sighs, hands shoved into the pockets of his jeans as he tilts his head downward.

he misses you. a lot.

it’s been almost a half a year since you two had broken up, mutually—if breaking up could ever be considered mutual—and he’s been missing you ever since. he wasn’t sure when things felt wrong, he just remembers one day things were good, and then next, you were asking to leave because you couldn’t do it anymore. it being the relationship, loving him.

the holidays are making him wistful. the girls have been goading him into reaching out to you, again, and he’s had to tell them more than once that he’s not sure things are meant to work out. he’d made himself vulnerable and now he’s worried that he won’t ever be able to do it again.

“stop furrowing your brows,” nanako mutters from where she’s sitting on the park bench, waiting for her sister to come back with the hot chocolates she was ordering from the nearby cafe, “that’s how you get premature wrinkles.”

he dodges her hand as she reaches up to press against his furrowed brow, smile on his lips as relaxes consciously, “why are you so worried about my wrinkles?”

“‘cause if you get wrinkles,” she starts, putting her phone down on her lap to shake her head at him, “how will you get the ladies? they don’t love a man with wrinkles.”

“i don’t think i want any ladies.” which makes him furrow his brow again, hands wringing in his lap as he looks at his feet. he was thinking of the fact that it was this time last year that he’d told you he’d loved you for the very first time.

“okay, but what if—”

nanako’s musings are interrupted by the sounds of thundering footsteps, making both of the figures look up to see mimiko with a cup carrier full of hot chocolates running as fast as she can manage without her hands. her dark hair is flying behind her and into her face as she perks up as soon as the two of them see her.

“geto!!” she calls out, loud without cupping her hands over her mouth and the sight of her, wild and carefree, makes him smile. “i just saw your ex-girlfriend!”

“where?” it’s breathless, something he feels like he’s been since you left.

geto can’t even hear what she’s saying in response, just watching her point in a direction and before he knows it, his feet are taking him that way. his breaths are coming out in soft puffs of white mist, the cold air is burning his lungs but he can’t stop running. his feet are taking him somewhere, and he’s not even really sure where he’s going because it wasn’t as if mimiko was all that descriptive about where you were but he’d find you if his fingers froze off.

faces in the crowd begin to blur together, each one only a passing thought as geto rushes through everyone, trying to find you. he’s missed you. he misses you. you were gone and there’d been an ache in his chest he just can’t get rid of. you might turn him away as soon as you saw him, but he has to try—try to beg you to take him back.

it’s like fate, when he sees you again, because you’re turned away from him and he can’t see your face, but he knows the back of your head. it’s like he’s seen you before, been chasing you ever since you left, and for the first time ever, he can finally catch up to you. like all of the times before, he calls your name. this is the first time you actually turn around to look at him, eyes wide as you spot his figure moving through the crowd.

“geto..?” it’s a whisper, but he can see your mouth moving around his name and he can feel the constriction around his heart tighten.

slowing to a stop a few feet away from you, he gives you something of a pathetic smile. his chest is heaving, breaths coming out rapidly in small little puffs and he’s got a hand over his heart. he says your name again, quieter this time and watches as you press your hand to your own chest. his eyes rove over the planes of your face, nervous that if this is the last time he ever sees you, he’ll forget your face one day. he thinks that, really, if he were to only get this passing glimpse of you, he’d remember it for the rest of his life.

“hi.” he says, because he’s nervous and can’t think of anything else. someone bumps into his shoulder but he doesn’t even care.

you tilt your head a little—did your hair get longer or did you get it cut?—and you wave, wiggling your fingers at him. “hi, geto. did you just run here?”

he nods, laughing slightly as he walks closer, tentative but spurred on by the positive response to the sight of him—at least you didn’t burst out in curses and hex him to the next year. “yeah, i think mimiko saw you and i— i had to come find you.”

"yeah, i saw her in line when i was at the coffee shop." you flick a piece of hair out of your eyes as you look up at him, "i didn't think... i guess i should've known when i saw her get three drinks."

he can feel the conversation dying, knows that eventually you'll say goodbye and he can't even imagine the thought of you walking away from him again without him saying something, anything. it's cold, he's not really sure where he left the girls, and he wants to pull you into his arms so badly that he feels like he can't breathe.

"i'm still in love with you."

not exactly the sophisticated comment he had been hoping to make, but it's still true, and it's definitely better than saying nothing.

you blink. your eyes go wide. "you... still?"

he nods, unsure of himself and your response. "i know, it's been a year, and we broke up, but i just couldn't— i couldn't let you walk away from me like you did the first time. i can't stop thinking about you."

and he has. since the moment you'd walked out of his life, geto feels as if you're the only thing on his mind. the amount of times he'd thought about what he did wrong, what he'd done to make you want to leave, was absurd. he’s thought about what he should’ve said to make you stay, what he could’ve done differently to save the relationship, how he could’ve made things better if he just knew what to do.

“do you think you could forgive me?” you words are hushed, as if it’s taboo of you to even be thinking them, let alone saying them. “could you forgive me for walking away?”

“only if you forgive me for letting you.”

geto’s arms around you feel like home, like coming inside after a long day in the cold and standing in front of a warm fireplace. he could feel your body heat, the way your hands snaked around his sides to clasp behind his back, and he knew he was home. pressing a kiss to your temple, he sighs softly.

“i missed you.”

your words are muffled on the collar of his hoodie, but they make him smile nonetheless despite their watery tone. “i missed you, suguru.”

things won’t be perfect right away—he knows that—but he also knows he’s willing to try and put in the effort of working through the hardships. he knows what it’s like to be without you, and it felt like he had been missing a piece of himself. he doesn’t think he’ll ever be able to spend another christmas alone.

the cold has just become a part of you now as you groan softly, hands coming up as you run at your boyfriend, tackling him into the snow. “you’re the worst!”

he presses his lips against yours a soft kiss that’s mixed with melting snow and the smell of the fir tree you’re near. his eyes are sparkling with the lights of the nearest house as he laughs. “but you love me.”
