I still promise that I haven't gone anywhere, life just remains hectic. I'd found some solid footing, routine and peace before November hit (moving countries and then also settling into life that got flipped 180 degrees is something else), and then everything decided to act up again. I am here, I promise, and I will be around more as I slowly succeed at finding calm again, but it's taking longer than anticipated. All in all: I hate adulting so much.

P.S.: Have you ever desperately wanted a specific 4 star from a banner, and for 50+ wishes, it gives you the other 2 featured ones, and then one that isn't even on the damn banner, and a 4 star weapon too, and just no Kuki Shinobu? Kill me, Genshin.

my iPhone is 4.5 years old and I’m hoping to get at least 2 more years out of it. really it depends on when I stop being able to update apps/etc since I have to have smartphone for a bunch of work stuff. but I’m already resenting the idea of needing to buy another one

Still have this little dude I need to fix

I realised the tummy sensor broke (it was already like that when I skinned him, I didn't realise it was not a normal thing. I thought it was a bluetooth antenna or something). I will need to solder the cables together and remove the plug completely.

The plug is probably there for assembly purposes only. The skin is made in the sewing section where the install the sensor in. The body of the furby is put together elsewhere, and then they are assembled and the sensor is just plugged in when the skin is installed. But really soldering it in is just as functional.

I so figured the red cable and grey cable are the power cables (soldered to the battery plate).

i either need to replace the plates (which seems like a pain) or I can replace the whole system with a rechargeable battery pack (just need to find the right output ? Whats that for 4 AA batteries ? 6V ? Does the watts matter?)

I was thinking of using a nokia battery pack that is used on most chinese knock off electronics (and is usually rechargeable via usb)

I was also advised to use battery packs similar to the ones used on house phones. They are also rechargeable but don't usually use a cable as widespread as micro usb.

Not sure what to do, I don't have a lot of expertise.

First scene that comes to mind is always Eddie and Chris watching movies all weekend in "lead me back (from the darkness)". Don't know why it's that specifically, it's pretty much a throwaway line at the beginning of the fic, but it's really stuck in there for some reason that I cannot explain!

that IS a deep cut, but i have such a fond spot for that scene in lead me back (from the darkness)—some of my best memories from childhood were of ones when my parents or siblings decided to show me their favorite movies and i could just picture eddie doing the same with chris 🥰

just put on my busted-ass over-ear headphones again after a couple of months of using some (actually good) earbuds and holy shit the headphones are so comfortable in comparison

the sound is somewhat more hollow but only some parts of it others sound richer than with the earbuds, very weird how the different sound profile and physical characteristics of the device affect the perception of the sound

#i really gotta get replacement pads (my current ones aren't held on by anything) and find a way to extend battery life again without having #to solder anything (don't have a soldering iron) #i think small powerbank attached at the top would be good enough
