ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter: Magic Kingdom (1994-2003)
Propaganda:
"Scared the everloving —- out of me as a kid, but I absolutely loved it. The atmosphere was incredible. Still mad it was basically put in the wrong park and would never survive there."
"I FUCKING love this attraction okay- Not only was it a pioneer in technology but it also was such a bold move for disney and really went to show that they could terrify people if they really wanted to. Also, the alien animatronic is cool, And there's a tim curry robot."
"personally designed by George Lucas"
"Please please please please please please please please please please please please"
"A big part of why this was shut down is the exact same reason as to what makes it great, and one of the most unique attractions of any disney park- The more mature theming, shown off with X-S Tech's blatant greed, hubris and downright maliciousness, and the overstimulating *horror* seen in the main teleportation chamber? I don't think we'll ever find in a newer ride again. Not to mention, the "deco tech" visual style found throughout is one of the coolest aesthetic blends I've ever seen!! And if all of that doesn't get you... Skippy will. Cutest animatronic this side of the galaxy, with a wonderful voice to boot. He's even got not one, not three, but Five different plush variants you could take home!! big, small, smaller, backpack or fanny pack- it's your choice :] "

Show of hands - who knew Grant Seeker had his own children’s book?
Technically it’s not Grant Seeker’s book, but a book about his nephew, Will. Seeker is a prominent character in it though.

Yes, this is my copy of the book.

Character dining at the Liberty Tree Tavern: Magic Kingdom (????-2009)
Propaganda:
"It was always so much fun to get to see Mickey and Friends in their Colonial best. While the food is still good, the Liberty Tree Tavern just doesn't have the same draw as it used to."
youtube
Push the Talking Trash Can: Magic Kingdom, DCA, Disneyland, Hong Kong Disneyland, Tokyo Disneyland, Disneyland Paris (1995-2007/2014(tho he will a very rare appearance every now and again, but its not regular at all like it use to be/SO rare/for special occasions)
Propaganda:
I literally can't explain it, you had to experience it to see why it was so cool xD Just look at my face hugging it in the poll pic xD It was just one of those little unique disney things that made it so special. Ill find and post my vid later!

California Screamin': California Adventure (2001-2018)
Propaganda:
"Sure, technically the Incredicoaster is the same ride fundamentally, but that doesn't make me miss Screamin'. I'll never forgive them for taking away my nostalgic Screamin' music and replacing it with the cheesy voice lines of the Parr's chasing Jack Jack around."
youtube
Maelstrom: Epcot (1988-2014)
Propaganda:
"This ride had everything. Troll animatronics. An off shores oil rig. A waterfall that they tricked you into thinking you were going to go over. Yes it was outdated but it made up for it in charm. Truly an experience the likes of which we’ll never see again in a Disney Park."
"Replaced by Frozen ride despite the culture being the point of epcot, was the highlight of my one trip there and had some super cool sadly retired animatronics"

Innoventions: WDW Epcot(1994-2019), Disneyland (1998-2015)
Propaganda: Epcot version, in its hay day, this place was so freaking cool and futuristic guys! It upheld and stood what Epcot was originally suppose to be and Walt's love of future and progress, but Disney is lazy and didn't wanna keep it up and it ahead over the years so they neglected it til it was almost an empty shell then destroyed it for a STUPID GARDEN, IN THIS ESSAY ILL.......but anyways, this place kinda went downhill in the 2010's, but it was so cool in the 90s and early 2000s! Truly made learning fun!
Unfortunately, there arent many videos of it in the early 2000s, but here are a few, and some of it in the 90s.
youtube
There is a little bit of good footage of it in this video:

The Magic of Disney Animation: Hollywood Studios/MGM (1998-2015)
Propaganda: "In the 90s and early 2000s, this an actual Disney animation building where they worked on several films and sequences, including the ink and paint for Little Mermaid, Be Our Guest in Beauty and the Beast, I Just Cant Wait to be King in Lion King, all of Mulan, Lilo and Stitch, and Brother Bear! Though, most of it was done in a building behind this one(which I believed opened in 98)(and is actually still there and used for offices for other departments! Got to walk through it during cast member training in 2019!) Unfortunately they moved out in 2004, but the attraction remained for around a decade after. I actually have a vague memory of watching them working on Lilo and Stitch!
Taught you all about the process and behind the scenes of disney animation! Had a cute film with Mushu and a cast member 'interacting' and showing some of the process of animation. There were some observation areas where you could watch an animator actually working! There were several cute interactive games where you could do voiceovers for the disney characters and take a character quiz (like DCA's version), you could meet sorcerer mickey here for a while too. Over the years they added more character meet and greets, often promoting their new films. There was also a drawing class, that is now randomly at Animal Kingdom? There was also a little gallery/exhibit area where they had rotating exhibits of rough drafts, story boards, character concept art, and more!
This video is after it was a working studio in 2006:

Here is a clearer version of the little film:

Great Movie Ride: Hollywood Studios/MGM Studios (1989-2017)
Propaganda:
"This ride was SO fun! It was such a great dark ride; all the sets were so detailed and evocative of their movies, especially Alien. When that xenomorph came down, I was always startled, even as an adult, and it flat-out scared me as a kid. Spooky! And the little plot the ride had with the ride being hijacked by a gangster or a western outlaw who then fell victim to their own greed was absolutely delightful. It was such a great show of sets and animatronics, and I miss it so much."
"I genuinely loved this attraction as a weird autistic kid who couldn't really do anything else in Hollywood Studios and I'm really sad to learn that it's gone. I loved the atmosphere and the slow-moving ride vehicles and from what I understand it took a lot of skill to be a host on that ride."
"The animatronics were great for their times. I loved the two different versions of the ride (gangster/Wild West). The cast members were so much fun during the ride. A great tribute to great movies. The rotating props in the line queue was neat too."
"The best 22 minutes in AC on a hot Floridian day that will forever be missed."
"IT WAS SO IMMERSIVE!!! And the guides were apart of the ride and there were 2 different path at one point, the Western or Gangster, and hiding in the animatronics would be a real person and they would take over the ride from the host, then in a later scene in Indiana Jones part, the host would trick them into a "curse" and take the ride back! (just watch the video xD)THEN you went through freaking Oz! There was no ride like it before or after and I will never get over them getting rid of it!"

Discovery Island: Disney World (1974-1999)
Propaganda:
Yet another infamous, abandoned by Disney gem! This one is still there though!(as far as Im aware???). It was basically a little nature park on a little island in the middle of one of the lakes, where they had tons of different plant species and birds and even some animals. After the opening of Animal Kingdom in 1998, they decided it wasn't really needed anymore and relocated a lot of it's plants and animals to Animal Kingdom. The weird thing though, is that they left it completely abandoned. Like, parts of it legit look like they had to like evacuate, as there are still photos on desks and tools and all sorts of stuff just laying there for over 2 decades now. Another popular spot for urban explorers

Stitch's Great Escape: WDW Magic Kingdom (2004-2018)
Propaganda:
" If you were as obsessed with Stitch as I was then you also loved this ride. I don't remember much of the actual ride ironically enough, but I remember always having a blast and needing to go on it when I was younger. When I went back to Disney after COVID I was so sad to learn this ride was gone."

IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth: Epcot (1999-2019)
Propaganda:
Oh boy, here we gooooo. I could go on for hours about this show. It was one of the most unique nighttime shows Disney had, it was so unique to Epcot and didn't have any songs from disney films, which is what the park was suppose to be! Its all original and is so uniting and powerful. The soundtrack is absolutely gorgeous and fully original and gives me goosebumps everytime. Nothing can compare to how powerful it is. And yes, the middle section was a bit slow, especially if you couldnt see the globe well, but I think they should have just updated that part and kept the rest instead of forcing IP into Epcot like the replacement shows. This show was all about nations uniting and every culture being beautiful. From the torches that 'blow out', to all the fire in the middle, to the iconic globe opening with one united torch, to the different countries lighting up, to the jaw dropping finale of huge canon like fireworks coming out of each country area to finish with the brightest finale you will ever see, to the iconic song afterwards (from the Millennium Celebration Tapestry of Nations Parade!). And then Spaceship earth all lite up in purple with the song from Tapestry of Nations parade playing as you exit the park, nothing will beat the magic of that, and I cry every time I remember I will never experience that again. I kid you not, half the reason I did the DCP when I did, was so that I could see the last showing of this! Ill have to find video of me afterwards later xD This was my absolute fav show as a kid and remains so to this day. IN THIS ESSAY I WILL

Kidcot masks/duffy: Epcot (1996ish-2010(masks)/2018(duffy))
Forever sobbing they got rid of this. At each country, you got a special paper cutout added to the mask and a special country stamp! It was so much fun trying to get them all!!! Now they like give you baggies with cards or something? lame
Penny press with cranks/actually putting in pennys
Now they either dont have cranks, which was half the fun, or even worse, they don't take pennies anymore! Just card! Putting in the penny is literally the other half of the fun!

Future World fibre optic floor lights: Epcot (????-2019)
Propaganda:I AM SO FERAL ABOUT THIS AND WILL NEVER FORGIVE THEM FOR TAKING THESE OUT. Apparently at the newly open world celebration area, or whatever generic ass boring garden area took the place of Future World, there are some lame LED floor lights, but they apparently were malfunctioning the first week 🤪 It ain't got NOTHING on these! These babies were so magical, they seem simple, but as a kid, and heck even as an adult they brought me so much joy, but as a kid, this was pure disney magic! It will never be the same leaving Epcot and not having twinkling tinkerbell like lights on your path out 😭 Its the little things like this that made such a difference and is disappearing in the parks 😭

River Country water park: Disney World (1976-2001)
Propaganda:
Disney's OG waterpark! But it became more famous, or rather, infamous, for it being completely abandoned for over a decade and a half, and for urban explorers videoing and photographing sneaking into it! Also infamous for the rumors of the reason it was shut down! Unfortunately, it is all razed to the ground now and just a construction site for a hotel disney canceled quietly during the pandemic :/
Here is someone's home video of it a year or 2 before it closed:

Sorcerer's Hat: MGM (2001-2015)
Propaganda:
YES IT WAS CHEESY BUT ONCE AGAIN, ITS FREAKING DISNEY! YOU AREN'T GOING FOR SOPHISTICATION! It was FUN, it takes you from the real world! The whole park had an overall sorcerer's mickey theme going on in that era, so it fit! It was also a perfect icon for the park! I will never forgive them for getting rid of it. Oh and it was a great spot for characters!

Old Polynesian Lobby/Waterfall Garden: Disney World (1971-2014)

The fact they took this out makes me absolutely furious. It is what made this place SO unique! Now it just looks like a generic lightly themed lobby! I am SO tired of Disney taking away everything and all the special details that made Disney unique.
