I know the modern Single Father AU is a popular concept, but I raise you, single Father AU in the canon setting (though most of this will happen pregame).

Concept: Nohr is pretty relax when it comes marriage and children and so Xander having a child out of wedlock while a scandal, doesn’t destroy his reputation or future either, especially since Siegbert is proven to be Xander's. Xander does not intend to have any more kids out of wedlock, it was a political nightmare with Siegbert's mother, but eventually it was sorted out with her and he adores Siegbert. Siegbert is a toddler when Laslow joins Xander’s service and Laslow helps care for him. Laslow takes the role of fun Uncle to Siegbert (only causing a little bit of jealousy with Leo when Siegbert goes running to Laslow). Xander enjoys watching Laslow and Siegbert play, seeing the way his boy smiles grows bigger and bigger around him and if Xander’s heart skips a couple of beats at the sight of them, he firmly crushes that down.

Laslow is still terrible with women, but even he gets lucky one night and 9 months later gets brought a baby from a woman not in a position to care for her. He offers marriage, but she rejects that and leaves Soleil with him. Xander steps up to assist him since he knows how terrifying it can be and Laslow is looking particularly overwhelmed. Soleil gets moved to the Royal Nursery with Siegbert. At first that was all Xander was intending to do since the Nannies will know what to do better than him. However, Soleil has other plans. Once she gets out of the potato stage, whenever he walks in to see Siegbert, she giggles and waves to him and Xander is no monster, of course he goes over and says hi to her. She smiles as much as her father and he quickly grows fond of the babe. Of course Laslow's heart can't take it when he walks into the Nursey and sees Xander holding Soleil, playing with her or rocking her to sleep. It really does not help that Soleil eventually starts to call Laslow and Xander Dada.

Eventually Laslow and Xander fall in love as they raise their children together and four form a happy family

FE14 Mistletoe Headcanons

Hey y’all, I’m back for more mistletoe headcanons for the game a select few of us especially cool people like, with some potential rare pairs… but isn’t that the fun of it? That’s why I love doing this stuff. Hopefully you are able to enjoy it, too!

If you want to see the ones I did last year, you can find them here. Buuuuuut, for this year… Please enjoy! You can find Hinata/Oboro, Xander/Laslow, M Corrin/Silas, Camilla/Selena, Hana/Sakura, Arthur/Azura, Shiro/Siegbert, and Orochi/Saizo!

Hinata/Oboro:

I feel like Oboro is the one who would fantasize about getting a kiss under the mistletoe, but Hinata is the one who would actually have to go through with planning it, because she wouldn’t have the courage to ask. Hinata probably tries to set it up himself, but he’s not exactly sure how to be romantic, so he thinks he’s going to lure her to him by having some sort of training contest to show off which of them is truly the best of Takumi’s retainers. It’s a real eye roll for Oboro, especially with her weapon advantage, but she goes along with it anyway just to humour him. When she inevitably is able to get the pin on him, he makes a joking death, saying that she can still save her opponent with a kiss… and then pulls the mistletoe out of his pocket.

“You are so dorky, you know that?”

And with that, she laughs, and presses a kiss to his lips. Hinata smiles all the way through.

Xander/Laslow:

These two have to have a spontaneous mistletoe moment because Laslow is shy as hell and Xander canonically has an anxiety disorder, so this had to be like, an Elise-and-Camilla set-up. They wait until Laslow has been called to be lectured by Xander after flirting to try and forgot his crush, and then, while Xander is doing the talking… they catch them both! Camilla hangs the mistletoe above the doorway, and when Xander escorts Laslow out, they’re caught underneath. Immediately, both men’s faces turn red, but they know they can’t shirk tradition. They share a quick, chaste kiss, which still sends a shot of warmth through each of their chests… and makes them rush off afterwards, trying desperately not to think about how enjoyable that was.

M Corrin/Silas:

Look me in the eye and tell me that Silas did not recreate the most adorable winter’s picnic for the two of them just to get his kiss. This is Silas we’re talking about, he’s a notorious sweetheart. He sets up a basket full of good eats he’s made himself, sandwiches and soups and desserts, and gets Corrin out of his work for the day. Corrin doesn’t quite understand why this is happening, but is happy to get to spend some time with his partner. After the two get to settle down and enjoy a good portion of their winter’s picnic, all cuddled up together to warm against the winter winds, Silas says that he has one last treat for Corrin. He’s quite excited to see what Silas has, and can’t help but laugh when he lifts a little sprig of mistletoe from the basket.

“I should have known you would do this.”

“We are best friends, after all!”

With that, Corrin can’t help but lean in and press a soft kiss to Silas’s lips, one that his significant other can’t help but happily reciprocate.

Selena/Camilla:

Knowing that her adorable Selena has a bit of an inferiority complex, when Camilla gets caught under the mistletoe with her, she’s all alight with blushes and mentioning how blessed she is to be under the mistletoe with such a pretty girl. Selena burns bright pink, asks her if she set this up, to which Camilla absolutely will not give a committal answer. She’s all smiles and sweet caresses, asking if Selena would pretty please fulfill this tradition with her. Eyes darting away, the red headed girl agrees, but “only because it’s *you*, Lady Camilla”. With permission given, Camilla leans down and kisses Selena — softly at first, and then with more passion as it goes on. The two of them are kissing for a good moment when Selena finally breaks it off, gazing into Camilla’s eyes.

“That was… amazing, Lady Camilla… but you planned that, didn’t you?”

“Oh, of course I did, dear.”

Hana/Sakura:

Sakura would never have the courage to go after the mistletoe kiss, so this one is all Hana. And even then, I feel like it’s on somebody else’s suggestion. Probably Subaki’s. The girls have probably just finished enjoying some time in the Shirasagi Castle Town market, looking at various fashion items and cute trinkets, when they decide to stop into Sakura’s favourite sweet shop. The two of them are poking about, looking at all of the various snacks that they might be able to purchase, when a young girl points out that the two of them are caught under the mistletoe. Sakura blushes and smiles, and asks Hana if she would be okay to fulfill the tradition.

“Anything for you, Lady Sakura,” Hana giggles, a grin stretching across her face, and leans in to very softly kiss her princess… who can’t help but blush even harder when the little girl starts to clap.

Arthur/Azura:

You just know that Arthur wants to go out of his way to make her feel like the princess she is, and that it all goes wrong in a terrible in a way that she still appreciates. He probably plans this whole dinner date near this mistletoe spot, but as he’s taking her by the hand and leading her to it, there’s just this COLOSSAL fall, where he tumbles over their dinner set-up and worse, drags her with him, until they’re laying under the mistletoe. Azura is on top of his chest, her face hidden by her cascade of hair, and at first he’s worried that he’s ruined everything. Then, suddenly, he starts to hear laughter spill from her lips.

“You just wouldn’t be my Arthur if something like this didn’t happen,” she snickers, leaning down to kiss him. He tucks some hair behind her ear as their lips meet, the remaining fingers tangling in her blue locks, happy to have at least had some success with the mistletoe… even if it wasn’t exactly what he was envisioning.

Shiro/Siegbert:

Siegbert probably got roped into this situation by like, Forrest. Shiro is too oblivious, Siegbert is too nervous. Nobody for sure knows who sets up their mistletoe, but when the two princes are caught under it, their faces sure burn bright. Siegbert pretty much loses his ability for speech altogether, but Shiro assured him that they don’t have to kiss if he doesn’t want to. Siegbert feels awkward, but still thinks they should go through with it, so Shiro is more than ready to just plant a sweet one on him. It’s a little awkward, and probably kind of sloppy because Shiro’s leading, but it’s still nice.

Up until they get caught by their dads, that is. Then it’s embarrassing. Not that Ryoma and Xander mind much — just a few knowing, fatherly chuckles.

Orochi/Saizo:

Orochi, naturally, terrorizes Saizo into trying to get a mistletoe kiss. She runs around with the sprig, trying to get a kiss at random moments. Training? Smooch. Keeping an eye on Corrin? Smooch. Talking to his liege? Where’s Orochi’s kissy? Saizo, of course, follows through on none of them, which makes her quite pouty… Which makes it even better when Saizo eventually catches her on the way by, dangling a little bit of mistletoe over top of his head and beckoning her over. She flies over to him almost immediately, and with a pull down of his mask Spider-man style, the two of them share a loving kiss that Orochi will be thinking about forever…
