Look, Rhea is a tragic figure. I feel for her. Her trauma at the hands of Nemesis and the Agarthans is vast, and the slaughter in Zanado is completely unforgivable.
But until she's healed from that trauma and doesn't blame all of humanity for that nightmare, there's absolutely no reason she should be in charge of anything. Much less the very people she resents.
The Empire was created when the Church named Wilhelm its emperor, and the Kingdom is literally called the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus because it was founded by the Church as well. It's only by looking at the Alliance where you can see how the commoners especially feel about the Church's practices when they haven't been indoctrinated.
When the priest from The Eastern Church is trying to stress how they're different from the Central Church, he says:
Their church doesn't have an order of knights.
They don't believe in using force to chastise believers.
A noble house keeps order in their territory, and they have forbidden the use of any soldiers, even for self-defense.
You can reverse engineer these to describe how they see the Central Church in Leicester: Militant, violent towards its followers, and deceitful (claiming self-defense as a shield for its violent ways).
This is correct. The Church has a standing army and a school used to train child soldiers. It punishes criminals with execution more often than not. And it actively warps major events to make people see them in a certain light.
Yes, Rhea chose to keep the peace rather than openly hating humanity. That's not exactly a kindness when she 1) makes sure most people are reliant on the church for basic needs 2) restricts access to education based on who she can control (nobles vs. commoners) 3) bans advances in technology like the printing press so she can more easily prohibit the spread of knowledge and 4) creates clones and experiments on babies.
I understand she is traumatized. I understand she is in pain and trying to protect her people from another slaughter. But the simple fact is she's not even doing that well, because she's refused to heal. Everything she does against the Agarthans is basically whack-a-mole, and she only ever punishes who they manipulated.
Hubert found TWSD in 10 years! She's had centuries! I can't even say he's healed from his trauma to make that happen, but at least he directed it to something practical that got results. So no one would suffer like he had.
But Rhea? She's content to punish and oppress humanity for being manipulated by the Agarthans. Meanwhile, TWSD experiments on children too and the Church does nothing. When Lysithea and Edelgard are the sole survivors of murky circumstances, one would think that the Church would get involved. Even for aid. But no. They had their chance to make this right, and they chose to turn a blind eye.
I cannot rightly believe that she really cares about human beings when she treats the people most loyal to her so horribly. Even Seteth! She's telling Catherine to burn down a city with people inside in the Black Eagles route, she's never once tried to get anyone to teach Cyril to read and write (Seteth was the only one interested in doing that for him), and she hid all of her atrocities from Seteth because she knew that what she was doing was wrong.
Her compassion as the archbishop ultimately comes from a place of indoctrination and control. Understandable though it may be because of what she experienced, it's still wrong. And she shouldn't be in charge of anything because of that.

may I introduce to you:
Hans von Nilsson, protector of the Eastern Church, founder of the new Nilsson Academy of Military Sciences, and Carina‘s fabulous boss. Since there‘s so little known about him, I kinda claimed this canon FE3H character for myself lol
he still holds a grudge against duke Oswald von Riegan for enrolling his grandson to the central church‘s Officers Academy, his biggest competitor, instead of his own.
now he‘s trying to expand his business by agreeing into a temporary collaboration with the Officers Academy to advertise his innovative military approaches (and win some students for himself) (Carina has to do all that work as his representative) (she will beat his ass for pissing off and leaving her with their work behind at Garreg Mach)

I can't pick any of the fe3h questions but I also don't want to say all of them so just pick three that you want to answer
hahaha, ok!! <3 <3
12. favorite activity (tea, fishing)?: I like eating meals with people :)
16. what class would you be if you went to garreg mach?: mage class!! i'd follow the gremory route :) (also confirmed bc lysithea has chronic fatigue & fainting and so do i so this is proof magic class is good for spoonies)
20. unpopular opinion?: I'm using this to hit everyone with a long post and a Hot Take, which is that I think the Verdant Wind route is the True Good Ending of the game. Most people think Azure Moon is, or that Verdant Wind is weak and just a throw away kind of route story wise. I disagree!! and I think the themes present in VW are the ones that lead to the best kind of world for Fodlan.
I also think that VW being the only route where you fight Nemesis isn't some weird oversight on Silver Snow's part, but confirmation that VW is the best ending. A big part of that path is digging out Fodlan's corruption from the roots (the characters have many lines about this, and about the history of the country vs the history they'll be creating; this is also why we have Lorenz the way he is, as a foil to Claude. Old conceptions of nobility vs new possibilities). So having the final battle be the current heroes fighting against the undead 10 Elite is very symbolic of that. The main problem isn't Edelgard. It isn't the church, it isn't even really the Agarthans. The main problem is Fodlan's history. Fodlan's rotten system. Many of these heroes are descended from the 10 Elite, and I love that they are the ones to say no, we will not praise you anymore for your dominance, we will strike you down with the same weapons that you used to take power and to build this unjust world. I also don't think it's a coincidence that VW has the highest number of commoner students (especially when you include Cyril, and consider why he's majorly involved in VW).
At the end of VW, the Kingdom has been razed and the Empire has been brought down. But this isn't where we end, bc Leicester isn't free from it's rotten past either. Leicester is the area that is most hostile to Almyrans after all. So before we celebrate the end, Nemesis comes out from the eastern section of Leicester and cuts through it before getting to Garreg Mach. At the end here all 3 parts of Fodlan have been destroyed, ready to build anew from the ashes, after they go all the way down to the roots and tear them out. I also love the thought that Nemesis never really was killed, he was stored away (potentially the same situation with the Elites). The problems and systems they created were never destroyed by Rhea or by the Empire or anyone else. They were just dormant underground the entire country, the whole time. And having Claude, a mixed race man and an initial foreigner to Fodlan, lead this route into his new dawn is smart too. It takes someone who is invested, but was raised outside Fodlan, to be the one who's curious about finding answers, who's questioning not just the church system but the country's value system as well. It takes him to finally be able to see the problems below. And at the end, the doors of Fodlan do open to the outside world. They're healing, reaching their hands out and choosing to rebuild into a better future.

I can’t stop thinking about a fe3h cuphead au.
Like, shez and her twin brother Shen are cuphead and mugman respectively and end up getting caught in a deal with the ashen demons rulers of hell under inkwell isle.
So with the help of Lady Rhea of Gareg Mach and her league of Seiros they have to collect the souls of the three gangs that reside on the different islands.
The blue lions - The Northen isles
Leader - Dimitri
His battle is called “The Two faced tournament” and he changes from pre to post skip Dimitri in three sections of the battle.
You have proper noble Dimitri first, then the slightly feral Dimitri and finally absolutely insane Dimitri at the end.
It’s set in like a snowy mountain type landscape idk.
To face him you have to defeat each member in any order (apart from Dedue cause he has to protect Dimitri from the twins)
The Golden Deer - Eastern Isles
Leader - Claude.
His battle is named “The storm of torment/Arrow of the verdant sky” you face him in a oasis sort of area and his three phases are like him and his bow shaping into different weapons.
And finally
The black eagles - The southern isles
Leader - Edelgard
Her battle is named “The Hegemon husks final dance or The Eagles fallen solider” you face her slowly turning into her hegemon form each phase and she utterly destroys her own weapons in the battle.
Now before they face the Ashen Demons you first have to flight the now known as Church of Seiros before you can get to the twins due to Rhea needing them to stay alive to keep Sothis safe.

Question, do you think FE3H could've gotten a lot of its point with the Church across better had there been multiple Archbishops besides Rhea? Like, have Rhea be the Archbishop of the Central Church, and then have Archbishops for the Western and Eastern Churches as well, and then the Archbishop of the Southern Church is either gone or stuck at Garreg Mach. It could've helped draw some of the fandom's ire away from Rhea, and would've helped emphasize that the Central Church can only do so much to fix things when the rest of the continent is a mess.
Personally? Doooon't really think it'd help much tbh.
Cuz like, unless all the Archbishops were named, important characters of 3H, they'd just be forgettable no-names. which Edelstans would then use as evidence that Rhea is still the "head of the Church." May be a bit uncharitable of me to assume they'd do that, but these are also the same folk that make the arguments that the Church both 1) doesn't respect the sovereignty of the three nations by continually meddling in their affairs and 2) never helps the other three nations of its own accord.
Never mind the fact that Church does respect the sovereignty of the nations by only helping out - which it does do, regularly - when asked to... those are two inherently contradictory statements. "This institution tramples on the sovereignty of Fodlan's nations by... giving aid to them. Specifically when asked to. But also they never give aid in the first place."
Plus, Rhea would still be Nabatean, and Edelstans genuinely don't believe they have a right to rule over the people in any way. Rhea still being Archbishop, even if just an Archbishop of many, would still rile these people up simply because she's Nabatean. And that's not me just throwing shit at them either! They literally say it themselves that this is one of the main reasons they have an issue with Rhea being in charge of anything. They think "Oh well she can live a long time therefore she can't be trusted with any power at all ever." To hell with not saying a race should be disallowed from having positions of power, "they're not human so it doesn't count."
Plus, Edelgard is the main one painting Rhea in a bad light. She's the one that calls her a creature, a monster, part of the enemy that's plagued humanity, vile, cruel, someone who has no depth she wouldn't sink to - putting in a few more Archbishops wouldn't fix the narrative focus of Rhea being a villain for CF players. And since she's the one being given the most focus (which she still would be even with more Archbishops, because she's Nabatean and Edelgard hates Nabateans), Edelstans would still throw all their ire at her

𝚅 . 𝚃𝙷𝚁𝙴𝙴 𝙷𝙾𝚄𝚂𝙴𝚂. / fe3h au.
takumi, born in the far eastern land of hoshido, is the second prince of hoshido. his elder siblings, ryouma and hinoka, serve as honorary knights of seiros as they act as liaisons between archbishop rhea, the foreign nobles and queen mikoto. there is a longstanding relationship between the church and the first king of hoshido, anankos. all members of the royal family bear the crest of hoshido. it grants the user to manipulate natural energy and terraform entire masses of land. in battle, it manifests differently in each royal. takumi’s element is wind, allowing him to hit any shot, even with low visibility or accuracy. the frequency of this crest in the royals of hoshido, unheard of in fodlan, partially attributes to the longstanding peace in hoshido. however, tensions are high between hoshido and its neighbor, nohr. there is a peace treaty, preventing total war from erupting, enacted after the deaths of queen ikona and later, the assassination of king sumeragi and kidnapping of his older sibling, kamui.
i should note that regarding the treaty, it exists because as a kingdom, hoshido was not in an operative state as to launch an offensive over the unforgiving nohrian lands. with the loss of their king and queen, crown prince ryouma only a teenager at the time, they were at a complete disadvantage. hence, why mikoto, a renowned priestess herself, utilized her own magical prowess, and that of hoshido’s most talented, to erect a barrier to prevent nohrian intrusion. many in hoshido sought revenge but it was an untenable battle, hence the grating tensions between the neighboring lands.
he and his younger sister, sakura, enroll in the academy as foreign exchange students. they both originally join the blue lions class, the nohrians joining the black eagles. they can be recruited into any class, although it takes much more effort to recruit both siblings into the black eagles. throughout part one, takumi establishes a strong camaraderie with dimitri, mercedes, felix and a rivalry with claude. he looks after sakura, who becomes fast friends with annette. he has cross - class supports with caspar, dorothea, claude, shamir and manuela.
his roster stats are as follows :
+ + : bows, flight, swords
+ : lances
+ / - : brawling, axes, faith
- : riding
- - : reason, heavy armor
interests : reading, target practice
likes : cleanliness, historical fiction, playing with children, hunting, strategy games, miso soup
dislikes: defeat, teasing, overly sweet treats, stuffy functions, absentmindedness, nightmares
following the attack on garreg mach, the four hoshidan siblings return to hoshido and allow fodlan to sort out its own political fallout. within the five years, war erupts in hoshido as well after the murder of queen mikoto. assume that the events of revelations occur within this time period and by the end of the war, kamui is crowned leader of valla, xander of nohr and ryouma of hoshido. with their own conflicts resolved and order reestablished, the siblings of both nations look towards fodlan again, five years later. if he joined byleth’s class, takumi will return to fodlan to reunite with his classmates.
his paralogue, uniquely, must be completed before its due date. if left incomplete, takumi will no longer be a playable unit. anankos, having previously embedded his presence into takumi’s subconscious, manipulating his own inferiority complex and intrusive thoughts, eventually overtakes him. he disappears into the night and must be rescued from his own demons. it’s anankos’ final ploy and the invisible army is raised for a final time. completion awards the fuujin yumi and the hoshidan royal archers as a battalion. dimitri must be brought into this battle and has special dialogue with takumi, as do all of his siblings.
the only paired ending i’ve discussed is with @blaimed‘s dimitri. after the war, takumi relocates to fodlan to act as a liaison for king ryouma. he lives in faerghus, working with dimitri as an adviser. using the reforms and methods of reconstruction from the hoshidan monarchy, he works to stabilize the region. it’s difficult work and faerghus is unforgiving, in its temperature and and unerring traditions, but he views it as a challenge which he alone can overcome.

FE3H headcanon that @liarcharme and I discussed but regarding the Almyra (Almyrain? Almyran? Idk leave me alone) language has several branches of dialect--- Cana’s specific dialect is derived from her tribe that is closest to the mountainous range of Fodlan’s Throat. She doesn’t have a noticable accent whenever she speaks common Fodlan, or the commoner’s tongue, but occassionally she’ll slip back to speaking Almyran whenever she is in the company of Claude, Cyril or anyone else who is noticably from the Almyran Kingdom. She would speak to them in casual conversation, eventually becoming more and more comfortable speaking the language of her people and delighting in shit talking the Church, the Monks or Priets and the Knights of Seiros whenever the mood would strike her. She would learn to be proud of her mother tongue and would make a point to speak more freely, especially after the 5 year timeskip.
It should also be noted that whenever Cana becomes stressed, excited or angry, her accent will slip without her noticing. She’s trained herself from a young age to hide her accent, espeically while in the custody of the Eastern Church. It was a matter of safety and necessity to disguise her accent and while she wasn’t spared being bullied by the other orphans at the Church, she knew she would have endured far worse if she did not take these steps to protect herself. As she grew older, she would default to speaking the common tongue whenever she would discuss busness with potential clients and the like, but otherwise she wouldn’t talk unless it was necessary until after she enrolled into the officers academy.

FE3H: Map Analysis
As others have pointed out, (barring Byleth) the only characters to have crests are those who’s names appear on the map
And, with the formal introduction of Ferdinand von Aegir, that trend continues
However, that’s not all the map has to offer. We also get to see what are, presumably, the main three’s crests
If each character with a crest is descended from one of the 10 Great Heroes, then its likely each house will have three crest bearers (Byleth being the 10th)
Anyways I’m gonna guess the (presumably) last Black Eagle on the map will have either Remire, Arundel, or Gaspard as a surname
Also on the map are the Western and Eastern Churches
We’ve seen the Western Church before, or more specifically,
We’ve seen Caspar decking a priest a Western Church Soldier
But as of yet, we don’t know much about either
Are they extensions of the Church of Seiros, or are they independent? If they’re independent do they have conflict with each other? With the Church of Seiros?
I think there’s a lot of potential to do something interesting here
And finally, on a completely unrelated note,
Rome’s here and, contrary to popular belief, all roads DO NOT lead there
We can’t actually say for sure if that’s Rome, but a girl can dream

FE3H verse notes:
Nero is from Fortuna, the island off the eastern coast of the Adrestian Empire near Aegir and Rusalka. He’s born during the Imperial Year 1161 and is 19 during the pre-timeskip events.
Fortuna is separate from the belief system in Fodlan in that it worships Sparda, an ancient hero they believe was present during the time of the Ten Elites and was actually part of that group, but was forgotten by history. They believe Sparda will return and cleanse the world of corruption.
Fortuna is not ruled by a noble family, but by a church known as either The Church of Sparda or The Order of the Sword. They believe there was a goddess at some point whom Sparda fought for, but the absolute focus of their worship is Sparda.
Nero was excommunicated from there by Sanctus for the impiety of his birth and mother’s status and sent to Garreg Mach before the age of ten.
Sorted into the Black Eagles, as Rhea had minimal ideas of what to do with a young boy from a goddess-less island, but was bullied to hell and back for having a sex worker as a mother. As in canon, Nero still never knew his mother and was often hauled before his professor, Seteth, or Rhea for fighting the other students.
Probably never actually graduated but changed from learning at the monastery to being a Knight by way of Rhea’s influence, in part due to his lineage, but primarily the inclusion of Kyrie in the Garreg Mach choir, having been sent as a peace offering/envoy by the Order to the Church, in a case of “you fight for me and i’ll keep her safe”.
Still has demonic blood, tying in with the above.
The Devil Bringer came about after he was bitten in battle by a Demonic Beast six months before the game begins. He was bedridden with a fever and the infection for two weeks and his arm mutated during that time. He hides it from everyone but Rhea Knows All.
Officially classed as a Swordmaster like Catherine, but has a high proficiency in archery too.
Modified his own weapons himself; Red Queen from a silver sword and Blue Rose from a killer bow.
Originally bears an unknown crest. Later revealed in his paralogue to be a minor Crest of Sparda.
Can most often be found in the Training Grounds, but also loitering outside the Cathedral or in the marketplace near the armourer and blacksmith.
Can be recruited by any class, but recruiting him into Black Eagles takes a greater amount of work and higher support level.
Will not reveal the Devil Bringer to anyone until at least B-level support.

i really am trying to think of how to position fe3h as a narrative that could’ve worked better. like w/ the tragic conflict between edelgard and dimitri. like edelgard who was experimented on by the church of seiros instead, who gets recruited by twsitd because they recognize her potential as a vessel for revenge while also creating a framing where rhea is like, actually sympathetic and well written and has legitimate and necessary reasons for trying to do what she’s trying to do, like, not even just her selfish ‘i want my mom back’ thing which Is tragic but ultimately not enough to carry her but
maybe like her explicit motive is trying to preserve the nabatean race because her and seteth and flayn are slowly dying and are really The last of the nabateans because of twsitd’s genocide, make them echo the herons but with a more desperate and cruel edge, balance of the question of the worth of a life on both sides of the narrative, with rhea maintaining the crest system because they need the blood of the nabateans to continue flowing to stay alive but it’s slowly not working as well as it dilutes over time, maybe create a situation where the church of seiros really does Explicitly bring some kind of benefit to Faerghus and Leicester that Isn’t just Spiritual/Sociopolitical but is like an actual thing like the nabateans being the only thing keeping the land there alive and habital and if they die out the flames of aillel will spread across the eastern half of fodlan or something so that edelgard’s attempt to conquer and kill rhea poses a real and present danger to dimitri and claude’s people,
