LMAOOOOOO since we could be here all day with me rambling about my massive list of rarepairs I'll just talk about some of my favorites

SuiTowa - okokok I do admit that I may or may not have originally gotten into this pairing because I just really like Towa and Suisei and did the thing where I put my favorites together but unironically they're really good together?? Streaming-wise they have a lot of great moments and their voices - oh their VOICES together. I lost my mind during their duet at Link Your Wish this year they are actually so GOOD.

Lore-wise they're equally as good? You've got Devil-Who-Is-Actually-Nice Towa and Idol-Human-Who-Is-Actually-Evil Suisei, it's such a funny dynamic. Suisei would find it so entertaining to be friends with a devil and start asking about the most evil things Towa's done and start trying to push all her buttons, meanwhile Towa would just be there like 'this HUMAN is INSANE and I am TIRED when can I go home to hell and eat SNACKS.' Also Suisei absolutely has "I will face God and walk backwards into hell" energy so Towa meanwhile trying to keep her out of trouble for three seconds is kinda endearing??? There's lots of potential for it to get angsty too on TOP of them being a comedic duo so I'm all OVER their dynamic.

By extension I will say I also love the StartEnd trio. Just Towa there with her two (2) feral animals Suisei and Aqua who go pew-pew in Apex. Literally that meme featuring that mom with two kids on a leash.

KanaTowa - Whoa ANOTHER Towa pairing I wonder who my bias is hmmmmmm LMAO

I like them for sort of similar reasons to SuiTowa? I got WAY into these two even BEFORE IRyS originally was announced; it's the whole classic angel/demon dynamic except completely inverted when you consider how angelic Towa is and how chaotic/violent Kanata is in comparison. Makes things interesting!

I'm really glad these two are lowkey kind of becoming a real thing? KanaTowa did a bunch of official 3D short videos and streams and collabs together and stuff; they also did that official game collab song (Madoromi. It's SO GOOD and the lyrics LITERALLY match their dynamic so WELL), and then literally formed an official unit together and released an original song together (which I now listen to on a daily basis). So now they're only a rarepair in the sense of there not being a lot of fancontent for them.

They're also just. So cute together...

(Also if I had a nickel every time Towa did a yearning reach-out pose to a blue-themed girl mid-performance then I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's kinda fruity that it happened twice)

KanaMari (Kanata/Marine)

These two have such banger chemistry with each other, actually! They're so funny together and you can tell they're pretty close and it's really adorable to see. Like look at these clowns

Also, I just think Pirate/Angel is such a funny concept. Marine sailing the seven seas and people are confused as to how she hasn't fallen overboard by mistake but it's all thanks to Kanata protecting her. Bonus points if Marine's all like "Kanata is my normal Houshou Pirate crewmate she is totally human!" meanwhile the rest of the Houshou Pirates are like "senchou just kiss your tenshi girlfriend already"

They are both very cute idiots and I love them

Salted Turkey (Amelia/Reine)

Okay THIS one is an oldie. More than a year ago Ame and Reine did a couple of stream collabs which were really cute!!! Though the real kickers for me were their first interactions; during Ame's first ever birthday stream the only people to do call-ins were Gura, Ina, and Reine, who literally woke up just to see Ame's stream and to tell her happy birthday (in their very first speaking interaction)! And then Ame called Reine's morning voice hot and I lost it right then and there LOL. And then Ame came to her birthday stream a few months later... they're just so sweet together

Lore-wise it's harder to connect them but I see the POTENTIAL. Honestly any pairing with Ame in it will almost always result in juicy dynamics so I'm all ears here. So hey vtuber fandom I know they haven't collabed in months since but can we get more of them actually?

Other pairs I love for some reason and really want to see more of: Lui/Iroha, Suisei/Calli, Flare/Polka, Ina/Calli, Kronii/Ame, Kiara/Mumei, and Ina/Sana. And I'm holding back on a couple more LMAO I'm a bit of a rarepair hell mess 😭

I actually never thought about Giyuu and Mitsuri before? But now that I have I kind of love it like it’s really funny? Also like, if you add Kyojuro in I think it’s hilarious to think of Giyuu having these extremely extroverted friends always drag him around to hang out and he just lets it happen. Essentially those memes of one tired guy holding two two feral friends on a toddler leash aldjskjkdkfk

I’ve always liked the potential for Obanai and Sanemi, because they’re like the asshole friends that talk about everyone behind their back and that’s funny to me like oh okay so you’re the mean girls. Add Shinobu in there and we got a full on Giyuu hate club (only 1 member actually hates Giyuu)

The dynamic I personally love and would want to see is Giyuu and Muichiro. They just have so much in common with their personalities and backstories, and I think that Giyuu, who has a lot of his devotion for Tanjiro and Nezuko, would probably have an even greater fondness for Muichiro who he’s probably more likely to see since they work together. I think that Giyuu, despite being the younger brother in his own family, would want to be someone that Muichiro can come to and confide in, essentially try to fit the older brother role that Muichiro needs. I think Muichiro would also like Giyuu a lot because he’s quiet and more mellow than everyone else, he’s way easier to be around without getting overwhelmed. He’s also a little easy to bully, which I think Mui would like as well since he’s kind of a little shit akdjsjjfksk but yeah they’re probably the hashira dynamic I’m most passionate about :)

Chewie and Fox would be amazing. Judging by Chewie's house (Oya Lifeday Special!) he's got some great ideas about constructing with nature, given that he built that giant treehouse of his. And also judging from the Lifeday special, he and Ponds would def vibe on color choices.

Group dynamics in the feral jock au with crushes and classmates?

So some aspects are the usual offenders like Marinette likes Adrien but he just assumed everything is friendship and Mylene and Ivan are together

Marinette is less obsessive. Day one, instead of umbrella scene, Nino introduced Adrien to Marinette and Alya and they are friends. She's very shy around him so he just thinks she's like an introvert or something. This quad is very chaotic because Adrien and Alya actively chase every Akuma and Nino and Marinette chase them to keep their dumbass best friends from dying every other day

Nino lowkey likes Marinette, but it's more like a sister because they grew up together. Kim was also there, and the three of them combined are the disaster bi trio

Kim, Alix, Ivan, and now Adrien are the current "jocks" of the class until Kagami arrives, as they're on the lacrosse team. Ivan is trying to protect Adrien from the feral energy Alix and Kim keep trying to feed him. Gotta protect sunshine boy. Ivan is less feral than the other two but when no one's watching he gives in

Kim, Alix, and Max are the brains and braun trio. That meme of the woman holding the two kids on leashes? That's them. Max keeps them from destroying Paris and Kim and Alix are very protective of Max. Kim doesn't know he likes him yet, Max will come to the conclusion later and it's sorta like "oh, huh. Muscles. Didn't know I was into that"

Rich kid gang! Chloe and Adrien are founding members, the classic trouble duo at every party. Add Alix and suddenly acting babysitter Nathalie is going grey. Sabrina comes in during Alix's absence after losing her mom and Kagami joins when she moves to Paris. This group is pure chaos incarnate and they watch anime together. I think they play Doki Doki once or Danganronpa but the girls say "no this is too much for Adrien" but he was having a chill time lmao. Guest appearances by Max, Kim, Marinette, and Alya

There's the Colour Squad which premiers in Evillustrator starring Alix, Juleka and Nathaniel. These gays hang out and tease each other about who they like and also do dumb shit. Nath and Alix were extremely surprised to find out Julerose are just best friends (for now). When Juleka and Rose get together near the end of season one she holds it over the other two like "I'm queen gay now"

Rose, Max, Marinette, Mylene, and Alix get together a lot during lunch or on weekends as Short Gang. They have a running joke about borrowing some Tall™ from Ivan and Juleka. Marinette makes them all platforms one day and they show up to class feeling tall. Alix's are platform heeleys. Sabrina joins short gang after Evillustrator to "branch out from Chloe and Adrien" at Alix and Marinette's recommendation. She adds to the chaos Alix brings to the group

Alix, Ivan and Rose share their taste in music and go to concerts together. If they need someone older they ask Luka to go with them because he passes as an adult rather easily. Juleka tags along because gotta support the gf but she finds it too much sometimes

Chloe is getting better because she has people who tell her her mom is shit from the get go and she actually agrees. She realizes she likes Alix before Alix realizes she likes Chloe. Chloe also is in love with Chartreux Noire and this causes her to have a crisis when she eventually figures it all out (after she gets the Bee)
