Not necessary to enjoy the image, but this is the exact moment before infected but funky TLOU Fern (TMushroom!Fern)goes absolutely hog wild for Finn-cakes the gang accidentally left in the woods.

Finn unknowingly leading Fern to their house like a feral animal with a trail of treats left abandoned in the woods. Might have to write a fic about it lol

2. Favorite canon thing about this character?

brother Everything.... i love his fucked up issues & the measures he goes to for the praise and acknowledgement of those around him . . . like. LIKE. just wants someone 2 genuinely smile at him & enjoy his presence because this LOSER was never HUGGED as a KID and his SISTER has SO MANY ISSUES. uaaaaaaaugh. i love how desperate he is. i need this gay fucking protagonist DEAD because they are ANNOYING and i will JOIN A TERRORIST ORGANIZATION ABOUT IT.

also like. kind of implied if u like fern at all but. him being so mean is so funny ToT i love how he talks like a 2000s disney channel bully. you're the top dog? huh? cool cat? huh/ huh? huh? incredible.

3. Least favorite canon thing about this character?

okay TBH... sorry everynyan. but i think the mewtwo quest with fern was a LITTLE TOO MUCH..... i think its partially a reoccuring issue with time being so nebulous in reborn [same thing happened with bennett changing up so fast when in reality it was like multiple months at that point] but it felt like fern just Fixed Himself way too fast. like brother the past 10 years you've been a maximum hater how do you switch up so FASTTT. i like it in principle i just think inherently its Hard to give any character enough screen time to have a slow arc like that. unless you are florinia sevilla which has 10 thousand hours on screen and i love her for it AMEN!

but . i like to interpret it as fern being a little #scared. and he has to be a Good Person now because he is desperate to reconnect with florinia right. but does it out of necessity rather than just not being an asshole so its stilted and a bit too much effort-wise. you feel me. and that later on after postgame he goes back to normal and bullies people again. but likeee. just not in the "i hate you" way but in the that's just his sense of humor now. and it is done with less malice YAY! either way. loveeee you fern sevill aforever

25. What was your first impression of this character? How about now?

im going to be soo honest. i have been a fern fan since day one. the first time i tried playing through reborn [and gave up right before i enter the glass factory <3] likeeee. he was still my favoritest puppy

likeee.... he was the only character i remembered enough to recognize ToT him and taka. its okay though. ive moved on from taka by now. but fernnnnn my best friend.

in episode 19 it turned from "ohh i like this guy" to 'this is my defining GUYYYYYYY." he is so SPECIAL FOREVER DO U HEAR MEEE. throws up. FERNNNNNNNN

April 18th, 2024: I spent way too long on this lol

Drew the frames yesterday, but my animation app decided coloring was illegal and that workaround took forever. Initially, I animated the turn on the same space, but the program changed it up. I kind of like it more this way.
