Crows (and cats and cuttlefish) are one of my most favorite special interests. What are your favorite crow facts?

I think mine is that they remember people and can remember people who’ve wronged them for generations! A crow that’s never seen that person before can be harassed by the crow just because they communicate so well! The dedication!!

I also really like that corvids are the biggest songbirds and can mimic sounds just like parrots can 🐦‍⬛

Hello! Sorry for the much delayed response, I got distracted (this will happen again).

Yeah, sometimes I get the sense that crows in areas where I don't normally feed crows already know who I am. Like they'll come closer and look at me like they've heard I might have peanuts. Most of the crows in the city sleep together in some trees downtown in winter, so I'm sure they get to talking. Very curious as to how they manage to communicate these things to each other.

the wheel of fortune: if you do divination, whats your favourite or preferred method/form of divination?

man, i love all the methods i use! i can't speak for favourites, because they (meaning tarot, oracle, dice, charm casting, bibliomancy) all have a special place in my heart and all have their place in the spotlight in my life. however, i do have a preferred method, and that is tarot. tarot is what i have the most training and experience in, and as an artsy person i love being greeted with the art on the cards on each deck i own.

I redid the altar once again! Thanks to @fireandfennel I’m trying a new method of rotating the altar space so it’s one deity at a time in hopes that it’ll become 1) more accessible for me to engage in worship 2) less overwhelming for me. And it’s going great already. It’s been easier for me to manage and I don’t have the pressure of ‘if I give one deity something I have to give something to everyone or I’ll feel bad’.

On the altar I have some candles (mostly there for symbolic purposes as I’m super clumsy and always seem to knock into candles), a bottle of water, some oil, some wine, incense powder, and some essential oils. There’s also a plate for me to put offerings on, a knife to cut things with, some fake flowers (that get switched out with each deity, yellow is for Zeus)

And, since I’m working on a weekly rotation, and this week is Zeus’ turn. And today I gave him some of the roast and pie that I made! I don’t give huge offerings very often as it’s not feasible for me to do, so it’s nice when I’m able to do this. And He seems to really like everything!

I’m Hard of Hearing and require captions in order to interact with any video/audio. Any videos or audio I post will always have captions.

Sometimes, I don’t have the ability to add alt text, image descriptions, and/or plain text versions of posts, feel free to go back and add them if you’re able to and see them needed. I have Low Vision, transient blindness and visual disturbances due to some of my conditions and often require IDs myself. I try to avoid reblogging images without IDs. I try to go back and add IDs when I’m able.

My blogs are photosensitive safe. I will never post flashing lights, jump scares, or April Fool's jokes/pranks on any of my blogs.

Occasionally I post sensory-enriched/dopamine-friendly versions of posts that I have previously posted.

Boundaries

I live in the United States so my posts at times are more specific to USA policies. However, in other countries many of the same restrictions, barriers, and systemic issues exist and I hope some of my posts can be a starting point to your own research about your local government policies and issues.

Inbox is open for mutuals, asks are open for anyone else.

I don’t have a specific DNI list for this blog. I just ask that people be respectful and engage in appropriate conversation about the topics I bring up. Threats and just generally being hateful (+ unwilling to hear other perspectives) will earn you a block. It’s okay if you’re not the most “politically correct” or are uneducated— caring intentions matters more to me.
