I may or may not have made an entire AU surrounding Morro and a resurrection/redemption arc because let's be real Ninjago fans, Morro deserves it. The writers did him so fucking dirty.

I will eventually maybe be writing a fanfiction about this, but if anyone wants the rundown of my AU - most of the events pre-season 5 don't change, just get strung together a little better to make the plot flow more coherently. (Ie, the Ninja feeling creeped out in the Caves of Despair - the place where Morro died initially.)

Resurrection: It is around Day of the Departed when he is resurrected, though the Ninja don't find out he's alive until I want to say season 7. The Ninja think they see him in the distance but brush it off. There's no way, pfft, Morro is dead. The Cursed Realm is gone. Right? WRONG.

Redemption: While trying to figure out stuff about Krux and Acronix, not only do the Ninja find out that Morro has been alive, but that Morro has spent his new life living it the way he would have if Wu had never found him. He has a job and an apartment, he doesn't want to be a ninja. After everything Wu put him through... he just wants to be happy. He wants to live the life he never got to live. He doesn't care about being the Green Ninja anymore.

UNFORTUNATELY, the Ninja need as much help as they can to take down Krux and Acronix and are forced to try and get Morro's help. While there is a very VERY rocky start between the Ninja and Morro, they will eventually grow to trust them (Cole takes the longest surprisingly. It isn't until season 8/9 that he BEGINS to trust Morro)

Bass?: "But Tri where does this bass thing come from?"

Oh yeah either in Secrets of the Forbidden Spinjitzu or VERY early Prime Empire - Jay and Cole accidentally introduce Morro to music and musical instruments. Morro falls in love with playing the bass and by the time of mid-Prime Empire, he's damn well near a pro at it to the point I already have a minigame planned for Morro to show off his skills with.

Souta?: It means "Sudden, sound of the wind" and "thick, big, great". It's a Japanese surname. Morro gave it to himself because he felt weird about the fact that everyone had surnames but himself. (And also he probably needed one for his job.)

Ghost Blade?: He may not be dead anymore, but because he WAS dead for so long, a lot of his energy is still connected to being dead, so bam. He can manifest a PHYSICAL ghost weapon. Might be a little OP, I don't care.

Also explains his gi, there are some changes to it BUT he remains very attached to his dead gi design + all gi designs I come up with for the different seasons will be based on his Possession gi. (the ninjargon letter M where his weird animal brooch used to be (which he wears on his shawl instead) pants/sleeves cutting off halfway down his calves/arms!)

Lloyd: Morro and Lloyd grow to see each other as brothers. Morro, having been in Lloyd's body and mind has a deeper understanding of him than anyone else could. Morro becomes VERY protective over Lloyd and due to this his relationship with Kai is one of the first ones he forms. Morro hates Wu and Misako (and S8+ Garmadon) for the way they've treated this boy. Morro isn't afraid to argue with Wu on certain things regarding Lloyd. Morro becomes the big brother to Lloyd whom he always wanted in his own life.

Islands, Seabound, and Crystallized: Oh boy, this will be fun because technically all three of these COULD have been connected to Morro (Islands and Seabound DEF were and Crystallized SHOULD HAVE BEEN). Anyways, I kill off Morro at some point in either Master of the Mountain (which I would LOVE to do the most because Cole at this point is one of the closest Ninja to Morro and it would HURT HIM SO FUCKING BAD, and be more of a driving force for his character arc), Islands, or Seabound to make it easy on myself plot-wise BUT he gets resurrected by Harumi in Crystallized because this dumb bitch thinks that just because he used to be a villain means she can convince him to become a villain again. Morro becomes a double spy.

Euphrasia?: Her element in the show is white. Morro's is green. She's not the new Elemental Master of Wind, she's the fucking Elemental Master of AIR and I will stick by that. Even canonically, I refuse to acknowledge it. If I get far enough as writing for Dragons Rising, I will definitely give Euphrasia and Morro a sibling dynamic.

Anyways! Yeah! This is but a preview of what my Resdemption-AU has to offer. If anyone wants to hear more about it, I could talk about it for FUCKING hours.

Oh!!! And I want to give credit to @sunfloraas because I took A LOT of inspiration from her Morro design because it's that good!!!

no one asked, but here are the ninjago villains ranked out of 10 lmao

pythor (10/10): oh my fucking god do i love this dumb snake. he’s funny, smart, and i love how you can tell lloyd made an impact on him and who he is

the overlord (2/10): i hate this dude. he was boring and he killed zane, but he scared the shit out of me when i was a kid so bonus points for that

chen (7/10) one crazy motherfucker. he was so power hungry and straight up didn’t care about anything other than himself and causing world-ending drama and i love him for that

morro (9/10): i cared most for how he affected wu. that final scene when wu attempted to save him was heartbreaking on both parts. and his redemption arc in day of the departed was cute. and his and kai’s dynamic was so fucking good

nadakhan (10/10): he was so brutal and somehow he did and didn’t have humanity all at the same time. he was really powerful and really absurd and a fucking genius

krux & acronix (1/10): i like the sibling dynamics but they were kinda boring

harumi (8/10): this bitch’s literal life mission was to emotionally abuse lloyd and she succeeded but killed herself in the process. she was an interesting one and i love how she continues affect lloyd from season 8 and on. it’s a good depiction of ptsd which is why i love it

iron baron (6/10): i’m glad he’s dead.

garmadon (10/10): man oh man. i loved him in the early seasons and i would’ve been perfectly content if he wasn’t brought back but the oni trilogy was so fucking good, i’m glad he came back. he was so brutal to lloyd and everyone else. also him and lloyd’s bickering in season 10 was so funny

aspheera (1/10): ugh bestie chill out. also, why you gotta do kai dirty like that

vex (2/10): he was weak. i could creep behind him and go ‘boo!’ and he would just disintegrate

unagami (9/10): i loved his story arc. i liked how he wasn’t exactly a villain, just a wee bit traumatized

the skull sorcerer (6/10): i wish they expanded upon his feelings towards vania and hers towards him. but overall, he was decent. and i loved his dumb, less ugly skull

kalmaar (1/10): honestly? i didn’t like him. i just wanted him to have a reason for wanting to destroy ninjago but he didn’t. it’s like he woke up one day and went “ya know what? fuck the land dwellers” maybe if he had a traumatic past he would’ve been better, but no, he’s just a pissy squid

I didn't think anyone would love her this much I-

I know what I want two of her outfits to be; one is a dress they wear on special occasions, like when they go to the fangblade competition to cheer on their 'dad'. The other is their 'concealed' outfit I mentioned, which looks cool in my head, I just need to get it on paper. I'm thinking they wear a lot of warmer clothes since they're in the sky for a long time, (the monastery in the mountains, The Bounty, riding dragons, etc.) I actually really like the jean shorts and leggings style so I at least know what they'll wear for pants.

Anya comes to Ninjago after trying to run from home; she slips on ice, falls down a hill, and crashes into a tree, where she essentially bleeds out/freezes to death. They wake up just outside Jamanakai village and feel cold and confused, so they seek refuge in the village. However, upon seeing all these tall, crayon-yellow people, she freaks out, and they freak out, calling her one of Garmadon's goons and attacking her. They drive her under an overturned wheelbarrow, where she hides out until the ninja arrive. Scared, injured, cold, hungry, and confused, they nearly die of heart attack when four very tall men come to beat her up. She acts like a feral cat; growling and hissing, and bares her teeth, curling herself up and pressing far away from them as she can.

As the brave one, Cole treats her like a cat and holds his hand out. Very tempted to bite and run, she's panting heavily, and her eyes are darting around. Instead, Zane warns Cole not to touch her without talking first, so he tells her it's okay, that she's safe, and that she can come with them. Jay is freaking out about aliens in the meanwhile, which doesn't put Anya at ease, so Kai has to walk him away from the situation.

So Zane and Cole get her to calm down, feed her, tend to her wounds, then she goes into hiding again. She just becomes this little creature they have that they put food out for and leave alone while she hides somewhere; they can't find her when she's hiding, thus they can't kick her out. Besides, they know she has nowhere to go. After a week of this, Cole gets brave again and starts hanging around her food areas until she feel comfortable near him to eat beside him, and he can even pet her hair/rub her back.

He does this until one day she just goes "oh by the way my name is Anya." and the ninja freak. They thought she was some sort of animal from another planet and couldn't talk, so they apologize and formally invite her to live with them. They start treating her more humanly, and she's grateful for it. After being treated like some sort of thing to awe at and pity on Earth, she's finally glad to have people actually listen to her.

Her relationship with Cole becomes a father/daughter one. Zane is like her trusted friend/the cool uncle. Kai starts to form a smallish crush on her, but they're clueless as hell, and Cole is ready to throw hands with him. Jay is still really wigged out about the whole situation, but after they talk about it, he feels better about having them around.

Anya turns into a fighter who wears special gauntlets with spikes on them. Because of her power of Will, she can't really die because she genuinely believes she can't die here because she has cool alien powers. So she uses this deathless ability to beat the shit out of people until she is unable to fight anymore. Examples include trying to deck Garmadon in the face despite being half his height, threatening the Great Devourer (which was stupid on their half because if they were eaten the Devourer would've become a literal god), kicking Clouse in the shins for shits and giggles, and eating random things in Prime Empire which made both her AND Unagami sick.

In later seasons, they go on the mission to stop Garmadon to revive the Grundle and turn young, but they get returned back to normal because they get hit with the tomorrow tea. But when Garmadon goes back in time with the other ninja and mess up the timeline, it turns out in the other timeline Kai didn't like her (because in this timeline, she ended up showing up early, so he blamed the loss of Nya on her) so he made her stay behind when they went to the comic shop, so she loses her adult memory and is stuck as a kid and has to grow up again. This makes Lloyd jealous that 'oh she gets a second childhood while I had to grow up too soon'. This plays a big big role in season 4 (where things get worse) and season 5 (where Morro takes her along and Lloyd can see how much she is hurt because of her second life, and finally gets over his feelings about it.)

SPEAKING of Morro, when they didn't know who the Green Ninja was, she trained like crazy because she wanted to prove that she could be strong, and could be worthy of being the Green Ninja. This set off a lot of red flags for Wu and he felt bad knowing they might go down the same path as Morro, but he couldn't do anything because he didn't know what to do to get her to calm down and stop without upsetting her. Luckily things went okay,

Also in season 5, Morro possesses her, which upset her and sent her emotions spiraling so hard that she actually became a big slime creature, but the ninja help her out by singing to her. She calms down, before attacking the Preeminent. Before Morro leaves her body though, she eats the Preeminent, which causes her to transform into a giant monster who, when they eat people, sends them to a peaceful dimension full of food and houses and places to play. People can stay there if things are looking Bad in Ninjago, before they can return home if they're ready (for example, during season 9/10, she contains people in her dimension, then they can escape through her mouth again. They run off because they're scared, and no one sees them for a long time. In season 6, Nya and Jay saw her in the tower with Echo, who has named her Hero. The ninja feel devastated to find this out, so once they go back in time, they make an excuse to find Anya/Hero. She's not there though, because she remembered, and she was scared.

In season 9 though, just before Harumi is killed/crushed, Hero barrels into the rock creature and battles with it. She isn't as scared as she was anymore, and when Cole comes back, he manages to finally calm her down, and she reverts to a human form.

(For those who don't want to read all of it she is full of love AND trauma and was definitely the weird kid who was way into bugs and pretended to be a cat in elementary school)

So about that sog Kai au 👀👀👀 do you mind telling us about it????😳😳😳

ALSJJDJSKALAJSJSKALA GOTCHU BRO 🥺💞💞💞 thank you for asking!!!!! Beware.... long post time....

Basically this starts aaaallllll the way back in season 4, where when Kai became the red shogun, he got involved in even shadier and shadier business situations (he basically becomes a for-hire grunt/guard because he’s so good at fighting! As a result, he’s so deep in the underworld and it’s dealings that when the ninja tried to look for him in season 4, they straight up can’t find him. They use all of their connections, everything they can, but he’s completely disappeared, without so much of a trace past three months after Zane died. (This is a year later. They hadn’t checked up on Kai in a while, he had a huge fight with them before he left, swore he never wanted to see them again, etc. they decided to give him time and space). So they file Kai as a missing person, and come together for the search for him! A few days after the report is filed and they start the search, they get their invitations to Chen’s! Kai didn’t get an invite because even Chen couldn’t find him... so the ninja have to make the difficult decision to pause their search and try and go save Zane, only to have nya AND Garmadon show up because Nya came with him for backup, but then she heard abt Zane, and made the even harder decision to join them on their quest to get Zane. Season 4 happens relatively the same, only Nya was the one to become romantically involved with skylor instead of Kai (staff moment didn’t happen because nya didn’t have the villainous traits for the staff to bring out rip. But it did help connect her to her elemental powers a little early! Good for you queen). But anyways. Harm still gets yeeted, seasons aftermath is the same except now they have Zane and have to face the search for Kai, which hits them like a ton of bricks. Season 4 ends.

so when season 5 starts everything is pretty different, there’s no tea shop, because all of their energy and focus is on the search for kai, so nya hasn’t had time to rlly focus on trying to develop her powers, so later when she trains her skill level is abt the same. morro happens, which delays the search AGAIN. they are in very low spirits abt all this. season 5s ending and resulting effects are the same. skybound does not happen just like in the show :). day of the dead happens, season 7 is a bit more complicated but again, results for the ninja are the same. basically normal seasons, except kai isn’t there and they are generally in lower spirits because all of their free time is spent looking for kai, but they think he’s either vanished completely or.... something worse that they don’t want to think about. so by time season 8 starts, the ninja have definitely become much more lax on their search, not spending as much time on it, dealing with other threats. they hate it, but ninjago needs defending and they are the ones to do it. by time season 8 starts, they’ve stopped actively going all over ninjago. they just keep their eyes out during missions more, that kind of thing. MEANWHILE!

this whole time, kais been doing his shady activities. traveling around with different gangs until he finds one that have him work for them full time, however it’s one of the biggest organized crime syndicates in ninjago. all over the whole continent! so he basically has to travel a lot, and he goes DEEP undercover, because originally he didn’t want anyone to find him, then it became he was so ashamed of all the criminal activity he’s taken part in. however, after a while of stewing in definitely the WORST environment for this kind of thing, he slowly but surely has so much resentment, the anger, then eventually even hate for the ninja. it wasn’t near overnight, but it happened. he thought about all the hurtful things they had said to eachother in their last fight. how deeply everyone’s words had cut. how they all seemed to gang up on him, when he now knew he was grieving, and sure he was out of line a bit then, but did it really require that? them taking everything out on him? he thought about how it took months for them to even realize he was gone, that his last motel was a dead end and he hadn’t left a trace since. how they didn’t try and somehow let him know that zane was alive. how they had seemed to search for him like mad and then disappear for so long, almost at this point having given up on finding him entirely. he didn’t want to talk to them, but it had been nice, secretly, to know that they at least cared enough to look for him, to miss him maybe. he thought about how zane dying had fractured the team, but kai being as good as dead didn’t seem to meaningfully impact the team in any way. he was selfish for thinking this, he knew, but GOD it hurt him more than he could describe. all that he had done for each of his teammates. his sister. his family. his whole life he had done nothing but sacrifice for all of them, only for them to not sacrifice a thing in return for him? he is. angry. and devastatingly depressed about it at the same time. and he’s filled with so many conflicting emotions, because on one side he still truly cares about them, and would do so much for things to go back to the way they were. but on the other side, he is just filled with so much resentment and anger, hatred all built up, the feeling of betrayal and deep, gut wrenching sadness, all swirling together, clouding his mind, mixing with his deep, almost hidden happiness of being actually FREE of all of the hero junk, the responsibility, the destiny, EVERYTHING. he also, even more secretly, enjoys the fighting more now. he doesn’t have to hold back. he can keep going until he burns himself out because that’s what he’s paid to do, damn the consequences. he’s swept up into being more and more violent, even accepting a few hit jobs a couple of times, mainly to see if he could. he could. basically rn he’s an absolute SOUP of conflicting violent emotions and dubious morality. This is the state he’s in when he meets Harumi.

he meets harumi on a job, she was working with the opposite gang, starting to get herself into the crime rings so she could firmly establish the sons of garmadon, (this part might change a bit because i actually have to watch season 8-9-10 lol but i’m getting to it i promise) they end up outside after, ending up sharing a lighter and some smokes, causing them to start talking, and end up opening up a bit and bonding a bit. they end up sort of.... acquaintances. they will talk after a job or before sharing a lighter to smoke sometimes, talking about so many different things. eventually they end up talking abt the ninja and how much they HATE them, harumi egging kai on in his negative emotions towards him, revealing her parents fates. kai ends up revealing the stuff abt his parents, how he was forced to raise his sister from far too young..... eventually revealing that he was, at one time. the red ninja. never again to him though. never again. he’s begun to hate everything he once stood for. harumi has her suspicions, he fit the description of the missing red ninja, from broadcasts and flyers. this was just the kind of business where you don’t ask those kinds of questions. besides, she liked kai. and what better way to get back at the green ninja, the once she hated most, than getting his former teammate on her side?

So that’s it so far!!!! I hope u like this bro! I have a lot more details and fights in mind, especially when we actually get into season 8 lol, but I don’t wanna spoil anything rn!!!!! My LEGO Ninjago Minifigure Collection! Part one!

First up, we have the ZX ninja!

I’ve had the ZX ninja for as long as I can remember. Kai, Cole, Jay, and Zane came with the Ultra Sonic Raider set from back in the early days of Ninjago. Lloyd ZX came with a spinner set, and the EZX Lloyd(Aka Elemental Zen Extreme) came in a handbook I got many years ago.

Next up are my season ten ninja!

These guys are a more recent addition to my collection. They each come with their own spinner to stand in. So far I’ve managed to find Kai, Cole, Jay, Lloyd, and Lord Garmadon.

Here we have season ten Nya having a conversation with Master Wu!

Normally, I use this particular Nya for spare parts for my OC May-Lynn, but for the sake of this photo, I reassembled her.

Master Wu was one of the hardest Minifigures for me to acquire, but he was totally worth it! He came with yet another guidebook I purchased some time ago.

Moving on once again, we got Jay, Kai, Cole, and Zane doing some training and honing their skills!

This pilot season Jay is the oldest Minifigure in my collection! He is holding the nunchucks of Lightning!

The Kai who is charging at the samurai dummy, may look a little familiar. That’s because I actually have two of him! One came with a spinner, and the other one(pictured here) came in a set with his sister, Nya.

The Cole in the back is from the Ninjago Movie which is why his hair looks so different. He’s holding his trusty hammer!

And the Zane hitting the punching bag is from the third season of Ninjago! He’s wearing his techno robes!

Next up is tournament Kai! He’s chasing after Krait and Kapow, two of Chen’s lackeys!

The tournament Minifigures are some of my favorite Ninjago Minifigures. I love that ninja come with their hair pieces! Kai’s spiky brown hair is so cool looking!

Meet Morro! He’s was once the elemental master of Wind, but he died while searching for the tomb of the first Spinjitzu Master. Now he’s a ghost!

I couldn’t find the airjitzu spinner he came with, so I stuck him on a random skateboard I found instead. I think his Minifigure is absolutely beautiful looking!

Next up we have Harumi, who is sitting on her throne! She is being confronted by Jay!

Even though Harumi is probably one of my least favorite characters, I still love her Minifigure design!

Jay here is from season three. He is wearing his stone robes! He came with the shoulder armour, yet for some strange reason, it doesn’t line up with the symbol on his back.

Next is Young Lloyd and Pythor!

Pythor is my favorite Serpentine and I was very lucky to get my hands on a figure of him!

Young Lloyd is not easy to find. He only comes in a poly bag, which can only be found online nowadays. The poor little guy is terrified of Pythor!

This is Skylor, Kai’s girlfriend, and the elemental master of amber! This is her season nine variant! She is not looking too happy about something!

Though I have many variants of Lloyd, this one is really special to me. I suffer from really bad social anxiety. My anxiety causes me to fidget a lot with my hands. I have found over the years that it really helps for me to have something to hold onto whenever I feel anxious or nervous. I used to carry around my Starscream and Knockout figures, but I had to stop because they were becoming too fragile. Finding something to replace them wouldn’t be easy since I was really attached to them.

Then one day, while on vacation, I stumbled across a LEGO Ninjago set that had this Lloyd Minifigure from season nine in it. I bought it because I really wanted Lloyd’s new hair piece and because the set was really cool too. I put Lloyd’s Minifigure together, with the intention of only using him for his hair piece. But....For some reason or another, I became really attached to this little fella. Holding him made me feel less anxious. Despite only having him for a few months, this Lloyd has gone everywhere with me.
