Gochi Valentine Week 2023 - Day 7 prompt: Cupid
Cupid & Psyche AU 🦋💘 (or Eros & Psyche) from the Roman and Greek mythology. I drew Goku and Chichi as the god of love and the goddess of the soul when they’re already happily married and living in Olympus, instead of their iconic love story origin (that’s for next time hehe).
Five minutes later:
Tumblr media
Hope you guys like it! Cupid is tossing spears instead of arrows in his ssj4 form LMAO it was funnier in my head okay! also, he’s wearing way too many layers than I realized.

GoChi Week 2023 - Day 2: Letters/Flowers
Days: [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7]
Title: The Secret Admirer Pairing: Goku/Chi-Chi; minor Bulma/Yamcha Characters: Son Goku, Chi-Chi, Bulma Briefs, Yamcha and Ox King Summary: A letter brings up the romantic side of Goku. Do not copy, repost, use it in any form or claim this work to be your own. Cross-posted on AO3
It was a typical winter day on West City. Valentine’s Day was just around the corner, which meant the halls from Orange Star High School were filled with pink and red hearts and other Valentine’s decorations. Goku sighed deeply when he got closer to his locker and saw the amount of boxes around it.
“I don’t get why you’re so annoyed with that.” Yamcha stated with a confused tone, as he tried to get near his own locker. “Most guys would love to be on your shoes right now.”
“I would gladly trade places, without even questioning it.” He opened his locker and a bunch of letters slipped down to the floor. “How the hell did these girls managed to push all these letters through my locker?!”
“You should never underestimate them. They are capable of anything.”
“Tell me about it.” Goku growled when he accidentally kicked one of the many boxes near his feet. He bent down and grabbed one that has a full-page picture of a brunette attached to it.
“So what are you going to do with all these presents?”
“Honestly? I have no idea.” He glanced at Yamcha and couldn’t help but laugh when he noticed he was nearly drooling at the photo. “Could you be less obvious?”
“What?” The long-haired man blinked a few times and shook his head.
“We were close to getting drowned here.” He teased and then handed the box to his friend. “Do you want to keep this one? Maybe you can get lucky.”
“You don’t want it?”
Just as Goku was about to answer, his eyes fell on a brunette girl walking down the hall. She was so distracted talking to Bulma that she wasn’t paying attention to anything or anyone else. His neck could have easily been broken due to how much it followed her around.
“Earth to Goku.” Yamcha waved his hand in front of his friend’s eyes, to get his attention.
“What?” The spiky haired man shook his head slightly. “Do you really want it? I mean…”
He glanced at the direction the two girls had gone and Yamcha followed him suit.
“Yeah, it’s better not to. Last thing I want is to piss Bulma off. It can often get pretty bad.”
“That’s true.”
****
“I can’t believe you’re not gonna give to him.” Bulma stated with astonishment as she and Chi-Chi headed to their class.
“Believe it or not, I’m not.”
“I don’t get it, you wrote it for nothing?”
“Did you see how many things there were in front of his locker? I don’t stand a chance.”
“Are you kidding me?” She shouted. “I guarantee the other girls don’t come anywhere near you.”
“I feel flattered, but I still don’t believe it.”
“Well, you should. I’ve seen the way he looks at you when you’re distracted.”
“It doesn’t matter, I’m still not giving it to him.”
“Okay, if that’s what you want.”
“It is.” Chi-Chi ended the conversation and the two girls headed to their seats in silence. ****
Bulma waited hidden for Chi-Chi to leave the dressing room after changing into her fighting outfit later that day. She sneaked in very slowly and went through her friend’s stuff to get the letter.
“I’m sorry, Chi-Chi. But you’ll thank me later.”
“Are you sure you want to do this?” Yamcha asked for what seemed to be the millionth time.
“Yes, I ‘m sure.” She replied firmly and with some annoyance. “If you don’t want to help me, that’s fine. But I can’t just stand here and do nothing to help my friend.”
“What happens when she finds out? She’s gonna be really pissed.”
“I can deal with it when the time comes. For now, let’s just put our plan into action.”
“Fine.”
“I knew you’d be part of this plan!” The bluenette exclaimed with excitement and threw her hands around his neck. “Before we know it, Goku and Chi-Chi will be in each other’s arms.”
“I hope you’re right.”
“Honey, I always am.” She said, full of confidence.
****
Chi-Chi was feeling rather uncomfortable with so many guys looking at her during martial arts class. She wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. Much to her surprise, someone else seemed to have noticed her discomfort too.
“Hey, is everything okay?”
“Huh?” She looked at him with her eyebrows raised. “Yeah, yeah. Everything’s fine. I just don’t like being the center of the attention like this. For some reason, guys look down on women being fighters. Or they think it’s sexy, which is kinda disgusting in my opinion.”
“Hey, leave me out of this.”
“So you don’t think it’s sexy?”
Goku couldn’t help but think her tone almost sounded a little disappointed. “No, that’s not what I meant. Of course I think it’s… anyway, guys may look down on women who fight, but not me. I actually think it’s great.”
“Do you really?” Her face beamed in happiness after hearing what he said.
He couldn’t help but think she looked cute when she smiled like that. He automatically smiled back at her.
“Yes, I really do. Would you feel better if I told these guys to stop looking at you? Or I can just beat them up if you want.”
“It’s not necessary to beat them up.” She put her hands up between them, almost close to his chest. “Just telling them will be enough.”
“Alright.” He was slightly disappointed with her request, but tried his very best to hide it.
“Thank you.”
“Anytime.”
****
Goku and Yamcha made their way to the changing rooms after taking shower when martial arts classes were over for the day. The latter was feeling a little nervous about the letter his friend was about to find. He still didn’t have a good feeling about this.
“Some nice training today, huh?” The spiky-haired brunette asked while he dried his hair with a white towel.
“It surely was.” The other brunette tried to push his worries away and replied in the coolest tone possible. “Once again you couldn’t stay away from Chi-Chi.”
Goku couldn’t help but grin when he was nudged on the ribs by his friend. “You know me.”
“I sure do.” Yamcha very discreetly looked over his shoulder to see what his fellow martial arts friend was doing. He put on his best fake surprised face. “What’s this?”
“It’s a letter.” Goku flipped it around, looking for any signs that could tell him who it was from, but he couldn’t find anything.
“You don’t know who sent it?”
“No, there’s nothing in the envelope.” He didn’t bother hiding his frustration, though he was also full of hope it would be from Chi-Chi.
“So you got yourself a secret admirer, huh?”
“That seems like it.” With a sigh, he put the letter in his bag, flinging it on his shoulders right after. “Are you ready?”
“Yeah, yeah.” Yamcha quickly followed him out of the changing rooms. “I’m surprised you didn’t open the letter right away. It almost seemed like you weren’t too thrilled about it.”
“It’s probably from one of these girls who are desperately to have a boyfriend.” Goku shook his head and shrugged, keeping a very cool tone as he spoke. “I will open it when I get home.”
“I see.” He pressed his lips together. “Either way, I’m curious to know what you will think about it.”
“Really?” He spiky-haired boy looked at him with his eyebrows raised. “Why is that?”
“For no reason.” Yamcha began to panic and his eyes widened when he realized he almost gave himself and Bulma away. “I just want to know what’s in the letter.”
“Alright, I guess.”
****
Goku was lying on his bed chilling and staring at the ceiling when he remembered the letter was still in his bag. He jumped out of his bed and ran to it, returning to his previous position as soon as he grabbed the envelope. He carefully tore it open, so he wouldn’t accidentally rip the paper inside. Then he unfolded the paper and began to read its content. He didn’t remember seeing that handwriting anywhere before, but his heart still started beating faster on his chest. He couldn’t tell whether it was his wishful thinking or something else, but he was sure that handwriting belonged to the girl he had been crushing – sometimes not so subtly – for quite a while.
Hi, Goku!
I hope you forgive me for writing this letter, but I couldn’t find any other way to say what I wanted. In person would be an option, but I’m just not brave enough to do it. Anyway, maybe I should go straight to the point. Okay, so… I’ve been observing you these past few days… maybe admiring would be a more suitable word. Honestly, I don’t know what I intended to do with this letter… maybe just let you know I admire you? Well, either way, I hope you don’t feel embarrassed with it and my confused thoughts. I surely do, now that I’m reading it.
I guess I’ll see you around.
Your secret admirer.
Goku had a huge grin on his face by the time he finished reading the small confessional letter. But he didn’t find it embarrassing in the slightest. It was the opposite actually. He found it sweet. He folded the letter and put it back in the envelope. When he was about to put it away in a drawer, the scent of lilies invaded his nostrils and he shivered slightly. If there was any doubt Chi-Chi had written that letter, it was just gone. For the second time in less than fifteen minutes, Goku jumped out of his bed. This time, however, he rushed out of his house.
****
Chi-Chi was about to leave for school that morning. She yelled bye to her father and opened the front door of her house. Her eyes immediately fell on a single flower lying right in front of it. She bent down and picked it up, silently looking to her right and to her left for someone or something that could tell her who had put it there. But there was nothing.
“Chi-Chi?” The Ox King, her father, walked into the kitchen and saw her frozen on her spot. “Is something wrong?”
“Someone left a lily here.” She walked in again, grabbing a glass and filling it with water for the flower.
“A flower?” He asked while she turned around and put the glass in the center of their table. “It was just there?”
“That’s right.” Chi-Chi nodded and looked at the flower for a few more seconds before shaking her head and smiling. “Well, I should go to school or I’ll be late.”
“Alright. Have a good day, darling.”
“You too, dad.”
****
Chi-Chi was taken aback when she stopped in front of her locker and found another lily attached to its lock. She had just grabbed it when Bulma stopped beside her.
“Well, well, looks like someone’s got a secret admirer.”
“I’m sure that was an accident. Someone must have confused someone else’s locker with mine.”
“Do you really think so low of yourself? Why is it so hard for you to accept someone may have a crush on you?”
“That’s not…” She pressed her lips together, deciding not to argue with her friend. She may have a point. “Maybe you’re right.”
“I know I am.” Bulma bragged with a grin. “And looks like this person actually knows some of your tastes. Not everyone has lilies as their favorite flower.”
“It looks like it.” The brunette bit her lower lip as she placed the flower on her locker. She could only hope it wouldn’t die before she went home.
“Don’t you wanna know who sent it?”
“Of course I do, but apparently they don’t share the same thought.”
There was a bitter tone in Chi-Chi’s voice; almost like she was disappointed for some reason, but she couldn’t understand why. Or maybe she just didn’t want to admit it.
“It’s possible, but I think we both know who put it here.”
“And also who had left another one at my door earlier.”
“What?” Bulma asked, visibly surprised.
“I came across another lily when I left for school this morning. Whoever left it must know where I live.”
“That’s so sweet!”
“More like creepy.”
“Why must you ruin everything?”
“Come on, you have to admit it was a little creepy.”
“Well…” The blue haired girl had to agree with her friend. “So what are you going to do now?”
“Honestly? I have no idea.” Chi-Chi looked at her. “Wait and see if this boy will reveal himself eventually, I guess.”
****
“Why are there so many petals near your locker?” Yamcha couldn’t take his eyes off the floor while he and Goku went to grab their things to go home after class.
Goku didn’t say anything, he simply opened his own locker and showed him the bouquet of lilies inside it.
“What the…? Did you receive them from a girl?”
“Nope, I’m actually sending them to one.”
“Chi-Chi…” He said after he fully understood the situation. “What did she say about it?”
“Nothing yet. I didn’t tell her they were from mine, so she doesn’t know. At least I don’t think she does.”
“Chi-Chi is smart, she will figure out. If she hadn’t already.”
“That’s true.”
“So what are you going to do now?”
“Now it’s time to put the final part of my plan into action.”
****
Goku felt his heart pounding hard on his chest and began to get nervous with everyone glancing at the bouquet of flowers in his hand. He noticed a group of girls standing not far from her, undoubtedly wanting to know who was the lucky girl that would get the lilies. He prayed Chi-Chi didn’t take too long to walk out of school or that she was still inside. Otherwise he would make a fool out of himself.
The single lily swung smoothly under Chi-Chi’s grasp as she and Bulma left the school building and headed towards the exit. Her heart skipped a beat when she found another one in their path and she knelt down to pick it up.
“Whoever this guy is, he’s really good.” Bulma commented when her friend returned to her previous position.
“Maybe.” She couldn’t help but smell it. “I’m surprised no one took it, to be honest.”
“I guess not everyone likes lilies.”
“Yeah, that may be it.”
For some reason, Chi-Chi felt her heart racing as they got near the gate. She noticed there were more people around than usual that day, clearly waiting to see how things would unfold. As soon as she crossed the gate, she saw Goku from the corner of her eyes, standing on her left.
“Goku.” Her voice was barely a whisper as she watched him get near her. “So it was you all along.”
“That’s right.” He gave her one of his signature smiles and handed her the bouquet. “I heard lily is your favorite flower.”
“It is.” She smiled kindly and was surprised to see he had offered her his arm.
“May I take a beautiful girl home today?”
Chi-Chi felt her cheeks blush slightly, but still linked her free arm with his.

GoChi Valentine’s Event 2023 - Day 1: Chocolate
Days [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7]
Title: Before It’s Too Late Pairings: Goku/Chi-Chi; Bulma/Yamcha Characters: Goku, Chi-Chi, Bulma, Yamcha, Krillin Summary: Goku wants to ask Chi-Chi out, but wants to wait for the right moment. He later realizes there's no such thing. Warning: (Slightly) Alternate Universe Cross-posted on AO3 and FFN
It was a typical winter day in the West City, but for Chi-Chi and Bulma Briefs was one of their last days as high schoolers. “I can’t believe it’s our last year in Orange Star.” The brunette said with pride, but her friend could tell there was a bit of nostalgia behind her tone. “Honestly, I can’t wait for it to go end soon. I’m excited to start working at Capsule Corp as a real employee.” “I really don’t get why you want that when you’re literally going to inherit the whole company.” “Well, I wouldn’t feel comfortable doing only bureaucratic things. You know me, I like getting into the real thing, seeing how machines work and helping building them.” “Oh I know it, believe me.” “What about you, though?” Bulma looked at her. “Are you going to keep fighting or going for something else?” “I’ll try to balance it with knitting.” “Knitting?” She asked surprised. “I’d expect it to be a shock at first.” “I’m sorry. It’s just they aren’t similar things.” “Obviously. But a woman can have different tastes, it’s completely fine.” “I didn’t mean to offend you. I think it’s great your tastes have such a wide range.” “Thank you.” Chi-Chi smiled. “I just can’t see myself not taking martial arts class anymore, you know? I’ve been learning it religiously since I was seven.” “I still remember the day you came to me all excited to tell me about your first day. The sparkles in your eyes are still there.” “I didn’t think I’d…” Chi-Chi immediately stopped talking when girls started squealing, whispering and swooning around them. “There he is. It’s always the same fuss everytime he’s in the spotlight.” But the brunette barely seemed to register Bulma’s words. Her heart started beating fast on her chest when Son Goku walked past them and gave her what she thought was the most beautiful and brightest smile she’s ever seen before. Her dark eyes followed him until a hand was in her field of vision. “Huh?” “Why don’t you ask him out?” “Are you crazy?” She shouted and her eyes immediately went wide. “He wouldn’t look at me at all. Besides, he’s like a baseball star and a martial arts one too. He can have any girl he wants and I have no doubt there’s a long list. Just take a look at how many girls are daydreaming about him right now. Besides, he’s just a friend.” “You surely must have missed the way he looked at you when he walked past you. His neck was close to breaking, I swear.” “You’re exaggerating, Bulma. I can guarantee it was nothing like this at all.” “You were too busy swooning over him as well. Seriously, Chi-Chi, he’s clearly into you. I wouldn’t waste that chance if I were you.” “Go ahead, then.” “He’s not my type, so, no, thank you. His friend is though.” “Which one?” “Oh no, this isn’t about me.” The blue haired girl shook her head. “Let’s make a bet.” “I always lose, so no.” “I dare you to have a date with Son Goku on Valentine’s day this year.” “Have you lost your mind?! That’s next week!” “So you better go for it and ask him out.” “I didn’t say I’d agree to this. Besides, I’d rather have him asking me out.” “I knew you were into him!”
****
When Chi-Chi walked into the room for her usual martial arts class, she noticed Goku was already there. She noticed a group of girls spying through the window and a smaller one at the door when she sat on a mattress to start her warm up and stretching. “Hello, Chi-Chi.” He said from across the room and immediately attract her attention. She couldn’t help but pay attention to his beautiful white smile. “It’s going to be another great class, huh?” “It surely is.” She tried her best to look away from him and focus on her body, but he seemed to have noticed it because he wasn’t going to let their conversation die. “How about we warm up together?” “What?!” She blushed heavily right away with his sudden question. She looked at the whole room and everyone was staring at her, clearly waiting for her to answer him. She definitely didn’t want to spend her last moments as a high school student being hated by other girls for simply rejecting his offer, though it was her right to. “Sure.” “Great.” He stood up and went to sit beside her. “So do you have any plans after school?” “I’m not sure yet. I’m still not convinced about being a professional fighter.” “Are you serious?” “Yeah, I’ll take my chances on something else.” “Well, I think it’s a waste. You’re such an amazing fighter.” Goku motioned for her to turn her back on him, so he could help her stretch her back and shoulders. He watched her stretch her arms behind herself and then approached her ear. “I’d hate to lose my best partner.” “Your best partner?” She mumbled, once again blushing heavily. “Of course.” He brought her arms up to stretch them a little more. “You’re undoubtedly the best one around here.” “Right.” Chi-Chi didn’t know why she was so upset with what he had just said. She had no romantic interest in him whatsoever, so she didn’t really have any reason to be upset. Right? She stood up and walked away from him. “We should just get it started.” “Did I say something wrong?” “No, Goku, you didn’t say anything wrong.” “Great.” He didn’t seem to notice her harsh tone at all. “So should we be a pair?” She was baffled. She knew he was somewhat innocent, but hadn’t realized it was that much. She couldn’t help but find it also cute. “Of course, we can train together.”
Chi-Chi was relieved the girls peeking through the door and the window were no longer there when the class was over. She was glad she was able to keep herself together during it because under other circumstances it’d be very hard to do it with Goku being so close to her sometimes. She was glad she was alone; it would be too embarrassing if someone witnessed her blushing for being turned on by it. “That was an amazing class as always. Thanks again for being my partner.” Goku said lightly when he stopped in front of his locker; a white towel wrapped around his neck. “You’re welcome.” She gathered her belongings as fast as she could, to get away from him quickly. She looked over her shoulder of her way out. “Also, thank you.” “See you around.” He looked at her back with a grin. “What’s going on over here?” Krillin, Goku’s best friend, walked to him after greeting Chi-Chi on his way. “Did you finally ask her out?” “What are you talking about?” “Come on, Goku. You can’t be that oblivious.” “Not yet.” He admitted at last. “It’s still not the right moment.” “But I don’t understand.” Krillin asked confused. “Didn’t you say you wanted to make sure she liked you? Don’t you have enough proof of that?” “I did and I do.” He confirmed. “But Chi-Chi isn’t like other women. I’m sure she’s the one, so I can’t mess up with her.” “How can you be so certain she’s the one?” “I don’t know, I just feel it.” The shorter one couldn’t help but smile. “Behind all these muscles there’s really a hopeless romantic man.” “What?” Goku looked at him with his eyebrows raised. “Forget it.” Krillin pressed his palm against his face and shook his head for a moment. “So you’re still going to do it, right?” “Absolutely. Very soon I’ll have my first date with Chi-Chi.” “When are you doing to ask her?” “You’ll find out before you think.” The taller one winked at his friend. “Are you ready?” “Sure, let’s go.”
****
The baseball matches were always a big event at Orange Star school. All students attended to them, dressed with the official jersey. Some of them took the word cheering to the extreme and painted their cheeks a red bar and brought pompoms. The team also had an official cheerleading squad, and not surprisingly at all, most girls from it swooned over Goku and Yamcha, who happened to be Bulma’s love interest. “Can you believe these girls?” Bulma frowned and folded her arms across her chest. “They have no limits.” “Huh?” Chi-Chi shook her head and turned to her friend. “Did you say something?” “Could you pay attention to my breakdown moment?” “I’m sorry, I’m sorry.” She didn’t even need to look down to know what she was referring to. “So why don’t you stop this whole ‘we don’t want to label what we have’ and be honest to him? You want an exclusive relationship and it’s totally fine. He’s wanted it too.” “I’m not sure. I mean, I do want to be with him and it’s been great. But we’re still teenagers, you know?” “I do, but at the same time it’s cute when people find true love at such a young age.” “Speaking of that, have you asked Goku out yet?” “Bulma.” “I’ll take that as a no.” “You got that right.” “Chi-Chi, come on! The guy is head over heels crazy for you. Everyone can see that.” “I know.” Chi-Chi looked down, sighing heavily. “Honestly, I want to date him. But I’m also scared as hell.” “Why?” “What if he’s the one and we’ll go separate ways after school is over? I mean, he’s most definitely going to be an athlete and I have no idea what I want to do yet.” “Is that the only thing you’re afraid of?” “You make it seem like it’s something small.” “But it is something small, and something quite simply actually. You want to be with him and he wants to be with you. I wish you weren’t so stubborn to act on your feelings.” “I… I…” The brunette looked at where Goku was and smiled. She had to admit Bulma was right all along. It was her happiness on the table and she didn’t want to take her chances with it. “You know what? You’re completely right. I’m Chi-Chi and never let anything stop me.” “That’s the spirit!” Bulma winked at her and then cupped her mouth. “Wooo! Let’s go, Yamcha!”
****
“You’ve got yourself quite a personal cheering over there, huh?” Goku stated with a grin when he approached his friend, skillfully twisting his favorite bat on his hand. “Yeah.” The long haired brunette replied and blushed. “Bulma is something else. She’s amazing.” “Looks like someone’s in love.” He nudged his friend in the elbow playfully. “Maybe.” Yamcha gave an awkward laugh. “It’s been fun, but we don’t really want to label what we have. I’d love if things got more serious though.” “You should tell her that.” “What about you? No move on Chi-Chi yet?” “Not yet.” He shook his head. “I’m waiting for the right moment.” “In my experience, there’s no such thing. You make the moment.” He placed his hand on Goku’s shoulder in a reassuring way. “If you wait for the perfect moment, you might end up without her. I’m sure that’s not what you want, right?” “Right. But I need to be honest with you.” “Okay.” “I really don’t know what I can do to ask her out. I mean, I don’t want to simply do it, I want it to be special.” “Got it. How about chocolate? You can’t go wrong with it, women usually love it.” “That’s a very good option. I think she likes it.” “Good. And also, if I were you, I’d do it as soon as possible. Valentine’s Day is next week. It’s the perfect opportunity.” “That’s right! I really should work on it then.” “Good luck! Now let’s play, we have a match ahead.” “Let’s go.”
****
Goku made sure he wore one of his best clothes that day, which was a pair of dark blue jeans and jeans jacket and white T-shirt. He grabbed the box of chocolate and went to wait for her to go downstairs after class.
He was casually leaning against the wall outside, with his right pressed against it. It didn’t take long for Chi-Chi to appear with Bulma. “Hey, Chi-Chi!” He followed them right away. “Goku? What’s going on?” “Can we talk for a moment?” “Sure.” She exchanged a glance with Bulma. “I’ll talk to you later.” “You definitely will.” She winked with a smile, which made her friend blush heavily. “What’s up?” She turned to him. “I was thinking if I could walk you home today.” “Oh.” Chi-Chi was taken by surprise. “Alright, let’s go.”
“May I ask you why you decided to do this?” Chi-Chi asked, though deep down she had a clue what it was about and her heart started beating faster. “We didn’t talk during martial arts class today and I wanted to make sure you were okay. I missed talking to you.” Her eyes suddenly fell on his large muscled chest, perfectly highlighted under his tight white T-shirt. She swallowed hard and could swear her cheeks were burning bright red, but still looked up at him. “Goku.” A soft smile appeared on her lips. “I’m sorry I didn’t talk to you during it. It’s just…” “What?” “Nothing.” Chi-Chi shook her head. “I should go in now. Thanks for walking me home. It was very kind of you.” “Don’t go in just yet.” He suddenly grabbed her wrist when she walked past him. He then opened his bag and pulled out a large box of chocolate with a red ribbon over it. “Goku, what’s this?” “I thought you’d like some chocolate.” He scratched the back of his head and laughed for a second or so. “Also, I meant to ask you something.” “Okay.” She tried her best to hide her smile, but the situation couldn’t be more perfect. “Would you like to go out with me?” “What?” Goku couldn’t believe what he had heard. “Did you ask me out as well?” “I did.” “But how… when…” “So naive.” Chi-Chi stated with a light grin. “Is this for me then?” “Ah, yes, yes.” He handed her the box. “I’m sorry. I got a little caught by surprise here.” “That’s cute.” She stood on her toes and kissed him on the cheek. “Thank you for the chocolate. I really liked it.” “You’re welcome.” “For the record, I’d love to go out with you.” “Are you serious?!” “Of course! I wouldn’t ask you out if I didn’t.” “Right.” “I have one condition though.” “Okay, tell me.” “I want to choose what we’re gonna do and where we’re going.” “That’s fair. And then you’ll tell me?” “Oh no, I’m not saying.” There was a mysterious tone in her voice. “You’ll have to wait to find out.” “Hmmm alright!” Goku agreed eventually. “Great. I really should go now. I have homework to do and need to cook dinner tonight.” “I’m sorry for keeping you here.” “It’s totally fine. It was worth it.” It was Goku’s turn to have his cheeks burning and Chi-Chi found it amusing. “I’ll see you on Monday then.” “Sure.” She walked to the door, but turned around to look at him again. “Oh, and Goku?” “Yeah?” “You look very handsome in that outfit.”

GoChi Valentine’s Event 2023 - Day 7: Valentine’s Day
Days [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7]
Title: Making Up Pairing: Goku/Chi-Chi Characters: Goku, Chi-Chi, Bulma, Gohan and Ox King Summary: Goku tries to get back with Chi-Chi after messing things up. Warning: (Slightly) Alternate Universe Cross-posted on AO3 and FFN
Goku stared at the ceiling in his bedroom at Capsule Corporation. He had lost track of how long he had been sleeping there, but had a feeling it had more than a week. He rolled to his left and looked at the empty side of his bed; the memories still lingering in his mind. Goku sneaked in his house in the middle of the night, hoping Chi-Chi and Gohan would be sleeping. He wasn’t supposed to come back so late, but the boys from the baseball team were having so much fun playing poker at Yamcha’s house and complained when he said he was leaving that he stayed. And what meant to be only minutes turned into hours before he noticed. He was about to make his way to his bedroom when he was frozen in his place. “Where were you until this time?” Chi-Chi walked out of the living room and looked into his dark eyes. “Chi-Chi?” His voice was really tense. “I didn’t know you’d be still up.” “I was waiting for you.” She rubbed her big belly softly “So…?” “I was hanging out with the guys and lost track of time. I’m sorry.” “Oh, you lost track of time?” She repeated with sarcasm. “And didn’t you even think about calling and telling me you were going to be late?” “I’m sorry, I was distracted with the game. The guys insisted that I stayed and I couldn’t say no.” “What were you doing at this party or whatever it is that you were having?” Chi-Chi didn’t even bother to hide the inquisitive tone in her voice. “I wasn’t doing anything. The guys were playing poker.” “You weren’t playing it all? I hope you weren’t gambling.” “I wasn’t gambling. You know, you could really have some faith in me.” “Is that serious?” She laughed sarcastically. “Are you even listening to yourself right now?” “I am, and I don’t understand why it’s such a big deal. I told you I wasn’t doing anything bad. This wouldn’t even be a problem, if you wouldn’t make one out of it.” “Whoa, okay.” She counted to three in her head, but that didn’t help to control her anger. So she pointed to her belly. “Do you see this? I’m almost giving birth to our second child, Goku. Did you know Gohan was impatiently waiting for you to come back, so you could read him a bedtime story earlier? Poor boy was beaten by slumber a few hours ago and I had to take him to his bedroom because he fell asleep on the couch.” Goku swallowed hard, feeling bad for his oldest son. But what he heard next hurt him just as much. “I think you should sleep out tonight.” “Come on, Chi-Chi. I’m truly sorry about arriving at this time.” “It’s not about just that, Goku.” Chi-Chi said as calmly as she could. “It’s also about your companies, the guys you hang out with. I don’t think they’re good companies and I don’t want them around my sons. It’s about being heartbroken seeing Gohan feeling incredibly upset he didn’t get to spend time with you before sleep. How is it going to be when Goten is born? You should go.” “But Chi-Chi…” “Please, don’t make this harder than it already is. Just go, please.” “Okay, if that’s what you want.” He turned around and walked out. Chi-Chi leaned against the wall behind her and covered her mouth with her hand, sliding down until she reached the floor. Tears were falling from her eyes like two cascades. Chi-Chi was staring at the side of the bed where Goku usually sleeps and sighed heavily. She hadn’t been able to sleep, though her unborn son was peacefully asleep at the moment. For a moment she was jealous he didn’t exactly have any idea about what was going on. She rubbed her stomach softly and finally fell asleep. **** “Mommy?” Gohan called Chi-Chi from the door the morning after. Normally he’d wake up after her, but he also had trouble sleeping. He walked in when he realized she was still sleeping and stopped at the opposite side of the bed. “Mommy?” “Gohan?” Her voice came out very low and weak and she slowly opened her eyes. “Are you okay?” “Daddy hasn’t come back yet?” “Come here, sweetie.” She tapped on the bed and Gohan climbed on it. “You miss him, don’t you?” “I do.” He nodded and then rested his head on Goku’s pillow. “Is he coming back, mommy?” “I don’t know, Gohan.” She grabbed his hand and pulled him towards her. “But I want you to remember he loves you so much. And mommy too.” “I love you too, mommy.” “Are you hungry?” “Not yet.” Gohan shook his head. “Then you should get some sleep.” “Okay.” **** Goku opened his eyes when the smell of food invaded his bedroom. He jumped out of the bed when his stomach growled and headed to the kitchen. “Good morning.” “Good morning, Goku.” Bulma looked up at him. “I hope I didn’t wake you up because of a noise.” “No, you didn’t.” He sat on the stool. “What do we have for breakfast?” “Is that why you woke up?” She commented lightly when she placed a plate full of toasts on the table. “In my defense, I was really hungry.” “When aren’t you, Goku?” She couldn’t help but laugh. “You have a point.” He grabbed a plate and motioned to grab some toasts, but stopped and looked at his friend. “May I?” “Of course! You can eat as much as you want. You’re barely a guest here.” “Thank you.” He grinned and started pouring himself some food. “So will you tell me what exactly happened between you and Chi-Chi? It must have been something pretty serious for her to kick you out of the house in the middle of the night.” “I already said, Chi-Chi got angry because I arrived late and didn’t tell her.” “Yeah, I get that. But why did you?” Bulma sat on a stool across him. “I can’t really blame her.” “I didn’t know what to do. The guys insisted that I stayed. What was I supposed to say?” “Say no?” She couldn’t believe what she had just heard. “Your wife and your sons were alone at home waiting for you. I’m sorry, but I’m siding with my best friend on this one.” “That’s fair. I really messed up with them, but don’t know what to do to make up to her.” “Normally, I’d tell Chi-Chi she’s better off without you, but there’s Gohan and soon another child, so… I’m gonna help you.” The blue haired woman said calmly and stared into his black eyes. “But you better listen to me very carefully here. You will not mess up with her and the boys ever again. I’m only gonna help you this time, do you understand?” “Yes.” “Great, so here’s what you are going to do.” **** Gohan was looking through his window and could barely hold his smile when Goku’s car parked. He rushed out and crossed the kitchen in a hurry. “What happened, Gohan? Did you see another animal around here?” “Dad is here!” He yelled as he ran outside. “What?” She dried her hands and walked out, feeling completely surprised. “Goku, what are you doing here?” “Hey, Chi-Chi.” He said happily, with Gohan over his shoulders. “I came to see my son.” “Daddy, are you going to stay?” He bent over to look at his father. “No, son, I’m sorry. I just really came to check on you…” He looked at his wife. “And on your brother.” “Gohan, can you wait inside, please?” “But mommy…” “Go, Gohan.” Goku put him down. “Will you read me a story later?” The child looked at him with pleading eyes. “I don’t know.” He ruffled his dark hair, but his eyes were still on Chi-Chi, silently asking for her permission. “He will, sweetie.” Her voice echoed, much to their surprise. “He will be right there.” “Okay.” He ran inside, happily. “Did you really come here just to see Gohan?” She questioned after she made sure Gohan was gone. “No.” He confessed. “I wanted to see you too.” “Goku.” “I’d like to take you out on a date.” “Hm, I’m not sure it’s a good idea. Everything is still recent.” “Please, Chi-Chi. I don’t want to stay away from you, Gohan and the baby anymore.” “Okay, okay. I’m not exactly happy with the idea of you being away from them either.” “Great! So I’ll come pick you up at 7.” **** Luckily, the Ox King said he could take care of Gohan for the night, but she was still unsure about going out with her husband. “I think I’m gonna cancel it.” “Why, Chi-Chi? Isn’t it what you’ve been wishing for all this time?” “It is, but…” She paused. “What if it keeps happening? I mean, it has become a sort of habit already and habits die hard.” “Give him a chance. It seems to me he really wants to make it up to you. He truly loves you three.” “What do you think, Gohan?” “I miss daddy, mommy.” “Well, I guess it won’t hurt to try.” **** Goku parked the car outside the house at exactly 7 p.m.. Gohan opened the door in a hurry and jumped on his father, nearly catching him by surprise. “Hey, little one.” “Daddy, why do you smell different? In fact…” The boy looked at him with his eyebrows raised. “Why are you wearing these strange clothes?” “I put on some cologne before I left.” The brunette man couldn’t help but smile. “As for the clothes… well, I’m trying to impress your mother. How did I go?” “Very smart of you to use our son to get to me.” Chi-Chi spoke from the door with a soft smile on her face. Her tone was not at all an angry one; quite the opposite actually, it was light. Goku, on the other hand, was completely speechless. She was standing across him with a tight black knee-length dress that highlighted her big belly and wearing a pair of long golden earrings and her dark hair was falling over her shoulders. He could have sworn his jaw even fell open in surprise. “Daddy, are you okay?” Gohan asked worried, looking at him. “What?” He shook his head and looked at his son before putting him down. “Daddy needs to go now.” “With mom, right?” “We’ll be back soon.” He ruffled his hair softly. “Go inside, Gohan. Grandpa is waiting for you, it’s dinner time.” “Okay! Bye daddy!” He hugged Goku and ran to the house. “What about me?” “Don’t come back late, mom.” “I swear sometimes he’s older than us.” “He’s a smart child.” Goku grinned and turned to open the door of the car for her. “Shall we go?” “What are you doing?” “I’m opening the door for you, why?” He looked at her with surprise. “Wasn’t I supposed to?” “No, I just wasn’t expecting you to do it tonight.” “I guess that works in my favor then.” He grinned and closed the door on her side. Chi-Chi was completely taken by surprise when she noticed the bouquet of roses in his hand when he opened the door for her after they arrived at the restaurant. “These are for you.” “When did you get these? I don’t remember seeing them in the backseat.” “They were in the trunk of the car.” Goku offered her his hand and helped her get out of his car. “I didn’t want you to find out, so I hid it.” “You’re really working hard on trying to get back together with me.” “Don’t you think this has gone too far? This has been the worst week of my life. I want to be with you and Gohan again. I want to be around when our second child is born. I miss you.” “I miss you too.” She confessed. “But let’s take things slow, okay? I’m still upset over… oh.” “What happened?” “Our son didn’t quite enjoy this and decided to complain about it.” “See? Even he agrees.” “Thanks for the flowers.” Chi-Chi changed the subject. “Can I leave them here?” “Of course. I think it will be okay.” The restaurant was filled with Valentine’s decorations and most costumers were actually couples who wanted to celebrate the date with their loved ones. It was only when that Chi-Chi realized it was Valentine’s Day. She had to admit Goku had chosen a great place for their date. “Thank you.” She smiled at him when he pulled the chair out for her. “Before you sit…” He grabbed her hands and she looked at him. “There are a few things I need to say.” “Okay.” “I’m really sorry for hurting you. I know I should have told you I was going to be late or not have stayed at the party more than I meant to.” “Yeah, I was pretty upset about it.” “I don’t blame you. I’m very sorry.” “It’s okay. It happened and we should move on from it.” “What does it mean, exactly?” “It means I don’t want to hold on to it anymore.” “Okay.” It was all Goku could say at the moment. The parking lot was almost empty by the time they left the restaurant. A cold breeze hit them and Chi-Chi instantly rubbed her arms to keep them arm. “Here.” Goku threw his jacket over her shoulders. “Is it better?” “I should have realized it was February. Thank you.” She put it on properly. “But you’re gonna be cold.” “Don’t worry about it, I’ll be fine. In your defense, it was a little warmer when we came. I wouldn’t have thought about bringing a jacket or a coat either. Besides, we’re close to my car.” “Can we just wait a moment here?” She tentatively grabbed his hand and he turned around to look at her. “What’s wrong?” “I don’t want to keep doing this dance anymore.” “What are you saying?” Goku felt his heart beating fast and hesitantly placed his hand on her waist, afraid she would tear it away. “I’m saying I still want to spend the rest of my life with you.” She looked up at him. “That is, if you still want it to.” “I do.” He felt the courage to wrap his arm around her back and brought her as close to him as possible. He looked down and laughed when their unborn baby kicked hard. “This one is gonna be a fighter too.” “There was something missing this week: you not being there with me.” “I think you we should change that, don’t you?” “Absolutely.” She reached up and kissed him passionately. “Happy Valentine’s Day, Goku.” “Happy Valentine’s Day, Chi-Chi.”
