I don't know why people keep saying the movie isn't real when the official soundtrack is literally on Spotify

Ok, I know we don't like to talk about it because of the scene context, BUT that scene with Andrey and Goncharov in the art museum where Goncharov tells Andrey "In the Bible Judas kisses Jesus on the mouth as an act of betrayal yet most artist portray it as a kiss on the cheek, I wonder why that is" and Andrey replies with clear confusion "I don't recall reading this in the Bible" and Goncharov goes "No no, I'm pretty sure it happened" and then later during Andrey's betrayal scene, Goncharov tells him "Are you portraying this kiss or are you a coward?" as a way of saying "I understood you were gonna do this long ago, but I can no longer run from my destiny, I can no longer run from time" and then Andrey kisses him right before shooting him in the heart it's just so good and it's even better when you know that mobs and people in the mafia in general kiss others on the mouth as an oath to be loyal to them till the very end and it's so good this movie makes me wanna eat glass I swear to god help me I'm obsessed

WTF Tumblr? You Weird, Wonderful Wackos
I walk into tumblr to see how the days going and everyone’s suddenly throwing their collective hands up screaming “Goncharov!” It’s all “Goncharov this!” and “Goncharov that!” and I’m left scratching my head like a clueless old man, confused by the vagaries and whims of youthful amusements.
You all made me do homework. While amusing (someone made tshirts), I felt the need to post about other posts concerning people who thought that this fiction was a reality. Something about this particular aspect of this phenomenon saddens me.
With that said:
*Claps hands*
I have to bow my head and give much deserved praise for those of you who helped fabricate an entire fandom around an invented film. I would love to see if this comes to Martin Scorsese ‘s attention. That would be additional fun. (If Lynda Carter’s game, why not Scorsese?)

So I made one edit of LITG x Goncharov with only Lucas for @mercedesdecorazon here, but inspiration struck and so I added in some more of our dear S2 characters...
I should be writing, sure, but instead you all get this 😅

tumblr’s the dominant social media fr today on tiktok i saw someone trying to create a fake movie and the first video on the tag was someone advertising the google doc of lore. meanwhile we made literal global news with an ice pick murder and the expectation that all of us would just spend immeasurable amounts of time reading the mafia movie tag.

My sister and I fancast Goncharov (1973) if it was remade in the year of our Lord 2022:
Oscar Isaac as Goncharov.
Michael Fassbender as Andrey Daddano.
Naomi Scott as Katya Michailova.
Anya Taylor Joy as Sofía Ambrosini.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Mario Ambrosini.

I know I’m late, but i couldn’t find the script until the past days. But i want to share with you one of my favorites scenes from Goncharov (1973).
I really like this part, when Katya and Goncharov are alone and talking about the fact that they are about to lose everything. The fact that both of them are just so done but Katya still believes in Goncharov is something I really found interesting.
And the memory sequence! It’s amazing cuz we get to see some of the true feelings of Goncharov.
I am so in love with the next phrase:
“We set our castle on fire […] but we never managed to get out […]”

The cigarette lighting scenes in Goncharov are one of my favorite details. Has anyone else talked about this? There's almost never any dialogue during these scenes. They're always very quiet and personal, with the camera focused on the actors hands and faces. There is the one scene where Goncharov and Andrei are interrupted out on the patio and Andrei, seemingly for no reason, snaps and throws a chair at the guy. I think the cigarette lighting scenes were shot like that to show intimacy between characters without the movie getting eaten by the Hayes Code. Goncharov borrowing Andrei's lighter at the beginning of the movie and then putting it back in his pocket during the Bridge scene always gets to me, too.
