I somehow never heard of this pretty grim woody woodpecker cartoon until rev and I watched an episode of Gullermo Del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities and they had it playing on a TV in the background, but then by coincidence we watched the Rob Zombie Meunsters movie right after and the same cartoon was also cameo'd there??

It ends with woody and the cat eating an entire moose

woodpeckers are predators but I'm not sure they can do this

Gleich noch ein ambitionierter Stop-Motion-Film. Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio ist natürlich vielversprechend. Pinocchio ist ja schon etwas düster und surreal und Gullermo del Toros Phantasie ja auch, also insofern erst mal eine gute Idee, die Übertragung ins Mussolini-Italien mit Kadettentrainigslager statt Jahrmarktsinsel funktioniert auch gut, die Leute benehmen sich alle wie Marionetten, nur die Marionette nicht, prima Konzept. Schick besetzt ist es dazu. Nur versucht es dann nebenher auch noch, etwas halbherzig, als reizendes Kindermusical durchzukommen, mit egalen und unmotivierten Liedchen, nichts auch nur ansatzweise so eingänginges wie “When You Wish Upon a Star”. Man ist dann zwar nach Ewan McGregors köstlicher Schlussnummer zum Nachspann fast gewillt, es ihnen nachzusehen, aber es funktioniert wirklich nicht besonders gut und dieses eine Mal wäre es wahrscheinlich schlüssiger geworden, wenn sie auf die Liedchen verzichtet hätten. Und wenn ich das sage.... (sie wesentlich kunstvoller anzugehen wäre natürlich auch gegangen)

so i just finished trollhunters today.

*spoilers ahead!*

Part 3 was brilliantly done.

I was in awe of every episode. This season definetly made me cry the most, I couldn't cope with Jim in the bathroom and all the flashbacks. For an animated show, I couldn't believe how dramatic and hard hitting that scene was, the impact it left was so powerful. Needless to say I cried my eyes out on that episode, but I also loved it at the same time. I also couldn't contain my tears when I watched Jim trying to cope with his new form. He wanted to so badly be normal and it broke my heart. When everyone is on the roof was also so memorable. The fact that they were all so supportive of him was overwhelming and I swear my heart actually hurt a little at that. I don't think my poor bby boy Jim deserved what he got but he's so strong and have such supportive people around him, I just hope he can cope with it.

I don't want to talk about anymore scenes or I will cry, but I can't help but mention some of my favourite lines/scenes just as a reminder on my tumblr as I want a post dedicated to trollhunters. So, here are a few:

•"No kisses, we're fighting!"

•"How do you know the light turns off?"

•"...Don't run away...whatever you are...I love you."

•"Claire...I can't ask you-" "You didn't ask."

•Anton Yechin's speech at the end (absolutely bawled at this)

•"In the darkest hours...I burn brightest!"

•"Well played...Hunter."

Personally, i feel like it still has so much mpre potential and could easily return for a season 4, but alas, that's not my decision to make :'(. Nevertheless, I am beyond glad I stumbled upon this show and have no regrets for it. I am going to miss it so much - I'm still crying about it.

There's so much more I want to discuss and I probably will later, I just needed to make this post to let my emotions loose. I'll definetly be making more posts discussing more things that occurred this season, I haven't and definitely want to cover more (like claire be able to convince her parents to let her go with Jim? ????) but this post will have to do for now.

I don't know what more I can say now but... fuck you merlin.
