#half square triangles

Stripe fabric made into a little wall hanging. Mitred borders with the stripe was easy and fun.
I couldn’t decide on a side setting triangle colour until I said “fuck it, make it bright” and picked the bright yellow. I love it.
Free motion quilted on my domestic with a loop meander using yellow thread. I… think I used the yellow grunge fabric for the backing? I didn’t have much of the stripe and that’s why I did a small project.

Got started piecing my Indigo Way mystery quilt this morning!
The first clue was a set of half square triangles using my blue and teal fabrics! Some have a lot of contrast, some have only a little, but I love the way they've come together!
And I was so excited to get started on this project that I'm already finished the first clue! Now to wait another week before I can continue...

I finished another one of these blocks today! Only thirteen more to go, plus some elaborate borders around each block.
I genuinely don’t know what I was thinking when I designed this quilt. My goal is to finish it in time for Christmas.

Finally worked up the nerve to try half-square triangles! I used fabrics from my bee quilt, including some blues that ended up not working for that particular project. I don’t know what I’m going to make from these, and I put almost no though into the individual squares themselves, but I’m still pleased with how the hst came out. My machine tension was a little high, but they’re not as stretched out as I feared my first attempt would be.

Playing with a different stitching style on this little quilt swatch. Just play on top of play. It's 5x5 so when I'm done playing I'll bind it and use it as yet another coasters. I need to find other uses for my little swarches soon, but for now I still have spots without coasters.
I was skeptical of this quilt style but it's satisfying to do and creates a very satisfyingly tactile fabric. Contemplating going in the other direction as well to make crosses.

It's OK. It's OK. Just 36 more units and some sashing left. 😔
And I already need to seam rip like 10 rows

Made a lap quilt for my older brother a few years ago. Kept it relatively simple cause I was still on a pretty steep learning curve lol
It’s just a panel, some hst’s (half square triangles) in coordinating colours, and two borders. Green minky on the back, and quilted at home on my domestic machine.

Finished clue four of Indigo Way!
This was the first clue that used all four colours at once, I had so much fun trying out all the different combinations of prints and values offered by my various fabric choices! I got a really great variety of units for this clue!
Now to wait for the next clue, I wonder what unit we'll make next?

The yardage is calculated for this quilt!
Of course, that was before I measured my brother’s bed and realized he has a double, not a queen, so I will remove part of the border.
I can’t be bothered to do the math twice, and I don’t think the yardage will change much, so I will call it good enough. I already have the grey and red fabric. I just need to buy the black.
Now to keep making oodles of these eight at a time half square triangles.

How it's going and where it's been... upon assembly I just couldn't unsee the very red-white-and-blueness. Adding in a bit of bright yellow really shifted the color palette and now I am much happier with it.
IMAGE ID: Two photos of the same quilt top. First with red, white, and blue geometric forms and between them bright orange-yellow squares. The second photo is without the yellow squares. Zhe wooden table os peaking out from underneath. END ID.
