I thought about THE NEXT WORLD MURAL case and how Jean objected to removing it and it made me sad.

Well my headcanon is that while I don’t think they had a relationship, Jean at least feels very deeply for Harry, but he knows he could not win against Harry’s alcohol addiction, the shadow of his ex-fiancee and his downward spiraling. It won’t stop him from caring for Harry, but I don’t think he would have ever acted on it out of self preservation (except for some regrettable drunk hook up maybe. That Harry probably forgot. Jean less so.) But yeah. Maybe the mural resonated with him.
