I really do hope that we get to see more of Sir Pentious in season two because if you really think about there is so much potential to be found in this.
What kinds of things would he experience as a former resident of Hell living in Heaven? Will he endure any prejudice or discrimination, especially from people like Lute and Sera? And how will it change/develop him as a character?
Will he see Heaven and its systems differently than the angels because he was a former demon? Will he end up becoming aware of and end up exposing more of the hypocrisies, corruption, systemic abuses, and other dark secrets of the angels of Heaven?
Will Emily be the only friend he has in heaven, or will we get to befriend other angels (maybe Angel Dust's sister?)
Either way, I really do hope they do his character justice in the next season.
If his first scene in the series hadn't immediately made me fall in love with him, then it would've been here. The perfect warmth in his face and voice (as well as just the wonderful writing & choreography for him) is just too gorgeous j-j
I had no idea this man would be so warm and adorable from just looking at his portrait in the pilot
Out of all the Valentino scenes that (unfortunately) exist, this is the one that makes my blood boil the most.
If you watch this line, you'll notice how effortlessly Valentino hides his true nature, as there is no hint in his body language, word choice, or facial expressions that even hints at the pure, unadulterated malice that lurks beneath. It's all buried under a well-constructed facade of friendliness and affection, specifically designed to hide the truth about how he actually views (and treats) Angel Dust.
It's one of the many things that make abusers so nightmarish, not just because of the cruelty and suffering that abusers are willing and able to inflict but because of how well they are able to camouflage it to others, whether it be to onlookers or observers, or even those they target.
