01. Hair: I usually like to use vanilla hair, but I'm obsessed with the hairs by @rustys-cc. I have to control myself to not use them on every single Sim! They just look good on everyone!

02. Skinblend: Not to toot my own horn, but I'm still using my own skinblend, especially after @missrubybird released their default version of my other favorite skin, Pufferfish. It's so beautiful, and I love how both pair together!

03. Moles: If I don't control myself, every single sim will have face moles lol. I love them and I think they add personality to my sims. My all-time favorite is this amazing pack by @vegantrait. You can create your own combinations or have only a single mole!

04. Face Details: I'm a huge believer in face details, lol. I think that's why I don't have many skinblends in my folder. I like the flexibility to choose and create unique Sims every time. My current favorite one is the Face Detail 02 by @miikocc.

05. Face Definition: It has to be the one by @nesurii. I literally use this ALL THE TIME. It totally changed the way I make my Sims! I'm totally addicted to it. That's it.

06. Face Shine: @frenchiesimgirl has the best ones! I love to use this one on my more glamorous Sims to enhance the expensive skincare they might be using. 💅💅

07. Eyebrows: I don't have one eyebrow specifically, but I have ALL eyebrows by @goppolsme. Ever since I started using them, I deleted all my other brows. It's honestly true love. I love how they look so much!

08. Eyeshadow: I never believed someone could overcome the Neutrals Palette supremacy, but of course, @crypticsim came and beat his own game with the Channel Surfing Collection. I use both Selfish and Default all the time

09. Eyes & Catchlight: Once again, @missrubybird holds the supremacy in my default folders, and I use their Aqua Trigger Eyes nonstop for almost three years now! I love them so much that I also use the Non-Default versions! I always pair it with @pyxiidis In Out Talons Catchlight!

10. Eyelashes: Kijiko 3D Eyelashes - but I'm obsessed with the Historian Recolor by @anxiousmoodlet. I definitely use it more than the original!

11. Lips: I have a few favorite lips, but the newest one is the Suga Lips by @xurbansimsx. I love all of her lips - I recommend them all!

Extra: Nails! I cannot express the emotional attachment I have with these nails by @xurbansimsx. They look so good and so natural. I'm in love with them! I totally wish she releases more colors... maybe something to match Lamatise's Bare Skintones... *wink* *wink*

🤍 About this guy 🖤

Keiji is 21 years old, born April 22th 2001 in Mt Komorebi. He is a bit overconfident for someone who is alone most of the time. His confidence helps him with his drive to succeed for his goals and music production career. He's a calm, rational thinker--driven but would prefer to be realistic and not rush things. Keiji struggles with expanding his social circle, but is not without friends.

He's loyal to the core and when there is someone who he is mutually comfortable with, they will find the time spent together to be very relaxing and easygoing. When betrayed, Keiji won't accept apologies and will block/ghost you right away to move on. When he is in the outside world, don't expect him to answer back to a "how are you or ask you about your day. If he knows you well enough and you have a bad day or cold, Keiji won't bring attention to it and instead will quietly bring you something to help you feel better when you aren't looking.

Living next to Penny Pizzazz in the fashion district, Keiji has lots of money to spend on fashion but wants to try to limit how much of his family's money he spends (unsuccessfully) and makes decent money with his music. As for the way he prefers to dress--mostly he just loves the aesthetic. According to his Chinese grandmother, his lucky and unlucky colors are black and white so he thinks its funny and ironic (to her disappointment). He gets an earful every Friday to remember to exercise, eat, about what is auspicious this month, and what to avoid if something is unlucky.

He's a picky eater, and prefers all types of Asian cuisine over others. You have to fight with him to try something unfamiliar to him. When he's at home, Keiji spends all his time in music--practicing piano and guitar, putting music together to send to his other music production friends. Thankfully, living next to Penny means he can be as loud as he wants back and usually has headphones on 24/7 anyway. Outside, he follows routes he plans ahead of time for photography in the day and goes to clubs and fashion shows with friends if he feels like it.

Hi!! Sorry but I must ask: how do you get screens and gifs so high in quality?? It's amazing

hi!!

for screenshots i'd recommend checking out my editing process which includes my sharpen settings & shows how i sharpen/resize my photos. always always always sharpen after resizing and save your photos as PNGs.

avoid upsizing unless it's necessary, just work with what you have!! it won't make the quality higher by forcing a low resolution photo to HQ. you'd find yourself sharpen the pic more and still can't achieve that sharp clarity from an actual HQ photo. the rule of thumb is to always go lower than your current resolution when resizing!!

another tip is to ultilize the sharpen tool & camera raw filter effect in photoshop, for example:

the right one has +5 highlight, -20 clarity & +20 texture in camera raw filter. then i use the sharpen tool to go over the eyebrows arch, the catchlight part of the eyes, and the nose tip. don't spam the tool on the whole face, use small brush sizes & go for the little details!! this also applies on accessories, clothes, etc.

subtle changes but the details pop!! which creates an illusion of sharper, higher quality. thats that i think c:

for gifs i refer to tumblr photoset dimension when resizing & use maziekeen's gif sharpen action (though i do micro-adjust depending on whether the gif needs more/less sharpening). here is my settings when exporting gifs from photoshop:

sometimes when the gif is a bit over 10 MB i'd switch from adaptive to selective to get under it 10 MB. c:

ADA Sigma Masterpost

General Design Notes and Headcanons (not limited to ADA design)

Gender: Nonbinary; goes by they/them (or other gender-neutral forms of address) but doesn’t really care what/how people refer to them

Build/body type: Androgynous, rectangular but delicate (think middle school boys before puberty sets in properly when they are just all arms and legs with little definition), drooped shoulders

Height: They are actually 5’6” (the heels give them 3 inches and then the hair even more, so they come across a lot taller than they really are)

Design Details (not necessarily limited to ADA design)

Ponytail and coat are sparkly on the underside (refence to original waistcoats design)

Delicate glasses, 3 links down the glasses chain there is a sigma (math symbol)

Bullet earrings (This is canon to me)

Fancy-ass tie tie to match hair parting

Tie clip they use to pull back their bangs on late nights

Has two guns in holsters on their back (lord knows they need them)

Waistcoat got shorter and has hardware on the ends

Sweater has thumbholes

Open flare pants with double buttons

Mid-calf stockings held up with sock garters

Coat is backless under caplet to allow easy access to firearms

Nails are painted a opalescent periwinkle, they match the little mother of pearl diamonds on the earrings/glasses chain

Diamond shaped face but with a youthful softness to it, delicate facial features

Straight shortish brows

Heavily lidded half-diamond shaped eyes the color of a pastel sunset (canon gave me too many color options so I chose them all)

Diamond shaped nose

Thin lips/small mouth perpetually in a slight pout

Dimond shaped catchlights in hair/eyes (can you tell I’m going hard on the diamond motif yet)

Due to their combination of facial features they either look sleepy or mildly exasperated most of the time (Ima Sigma resting-bitch-face truther and I cannot lie)

ADA Sigma

Position: Accountant/Archivist

Despite not being a field operative they often do research for cases. Their ability also makes them an obvious choice for field recon/intel gathering, made more appealing by them not being a well-known ADA operative and the personability they gained form running the sky casino (seriously they are one of the only people in the agency who has normal social skills). They are frequently dragged via nagging or trickery into these extra responsibilities by the rest of the cast(Dazai or Ranpo), much to their annoyance.

ADA Relationship Dynamics

Sigma<->Ranpo: friends, research cases together

Sigma->Ranpo: admires but that awe is often trumped by the mild annoyance at being dragged into cases, he forces them to hold their ground in difficult cases

Ranpo->Sigma: one of the first to support them joining the agency because he saw them as a valuable asset, also ended up valuing them as a friend, teases them and drags them into cases but will occasionally share his sweets with them(he cares about them)

Sigma->Fukazawa: deeply respects but doesn’t know how to interact with him yet (they are the awkward middle child who is quite but eager to live up to his expectations)

Fukazawa->Sigma: quite pleased to have adopted another child, knows they can get a bit overwhelmed but trusts they will do well (asks Kunikida to keep his eye on them for that reason), grants them access to his personal library because he knows they love to learn

Sigma->Yosano: healthy respect(fear),(at time of joining does not know Yosano’s ability saved their life, once they find this out they become extremely grateful and soften towards her a bit)

Yosano->Sigma: thinks they would make an excellent drinking buddy, trying to figure out how to make that happen without intimidating them more, (eventually finds out they view her ability in a non-gruesome light and feels extremely touched/flattered)

Sigma->Kunikida: appreciates the structure he provides to the agency (and sympathizes with his valiant attempts to wrangle Dazai) but finds him a bit overwhelming

Kunikida->Sigma: annoyed that Fukazawa picked up yet another stray but genuinely wants them to do well so looks out for them in his own high stung way, works with them on their firearm proficiency

Sigma->Tanizaki siblings: finds them nice, if a bit strange

Tanizaki->Sigma: treats them nicely because he knows the ADA is a weird bunch and it can be overwhelming to be the new guy, acts a as a bit of an anchor of normalcy in that way

Naomi->Sigma: interestingly does not bristle around them, finds them charming and wants to be their friend, does their nails

Sigma->Kenji: wonders what they did to be in the presence of someone so warm and wholesome(has yet to realize that are terrifying, when they do they are surprisingly unfrazzled and just take him to get some food, they've seen worse)

Kenji->Sigma: is just his usual kind self to them (completely oblivious of his sunshine effect absolutely baffling them nearly to tears every time meet)

Sigma->Kyouka: sees her like a small kitten with sharp claws, finds her cute/sweet but can be caught a little off-guard by her at times causing them to worry for either themselves of her, empathizes with her past and because of that wants her to experience joy so subtly watches of for her, they go and get crepes together

Kyouka->Sigma: not super close but knows they care about her, doesn’t think they need to (does not verbalize this, lest the crepe outings cease), thinks they are kind of naive and finds that amusing

Sigma<->Atsushi: friends, bond over a shared sense of protectiveness for Kyouka and annoyance at Dazai, like to confide (complain) to each other

Sigma->Atsushi: admires his tenacity, empathizes with his backstory, fascinated by the resilience of the goodness in his heart, grateful that he was one of the first to validate them joining the agency

Atsushi->Sigma: teaches them how to sass Dazai, first to pipe up and defend them when necessary, complains about Akutagawa to them

Sigma->Dazai: complex feelings, grateful for recommending them to the agency (and in doing so giving them a new purpose) but he still makes them a little uncomfortable, when they eventually realize Dazai’s thank you is genuine they do not know what to think (but it does ease at least some of the tension they feel around him), goes and complains to Atsushi about it to help process(Atsushi in his infinite wisdom (ability to see though some Dazai’s bullshit and meet it with disarming earnestness) of course is the one to suggest he might have been honest to begin with)

Dazai->Sigma: the other most common culprit for dragging them into cases, teases the shit outa them (does not know how to say sorry for what he played a part in putting them through, does not even realize that he probably should, some of the teasing is defiantly a manifestation from this subconscious dissonance), does however say thank you to them for what they did in Meursault, sees a little of himself in them in their search for something to care for/purpose to exist(does feel some sort of responsibility(maybe even care) towards them, but that’s a little too soft and genuine of an emotion for him to process so he just doesn’t)

Hello I’m being delusional about the cgi heart

SO I was watching the van scene again and I decide to see if I can spot things that might suggest (emphasis on suggest here) that the heart is cgi or some effect that they’re putting in.

So I have two like- moments that I think are some decent proof- so

Frame 1 -

For me what’s off about this frame is just the way light acts when it’s close to Noah’s eyelashes. It’s like- some parts of the eyelashes go through the light some don’t. You can really see it in the top right it’s very weird.

Catchlights (which is what I just found out these are called) are light that reflects OFF our eyes right? But if his eyelashes are in front of it- surely it blocks it from reflecting?

Also the heart/light here feels so two dimensional and flat. And what I mean by that is just— from what I’ve seen of catchlights in photos- typically the closer you get to the pupil- the more the light bends. Here’s an example (I stole this from a studiobinder article about catchlight)

Look at how the square sorta bends and makes the eye feel more 3D and spherical— like compared with the Will one- the light doesn’t really curve the way it would on a spherical object yknow?

Frames 2+3 -

Okay so- as far as I’m aware these two frames are right next to each other (no other frames in between) and this is so tedious but if you look at the heart/light in his left eye (our right) you can see half the light just disappearing. Specially- the one on the cornea and not the iris (which would make sense if that was added afterwards because usually light is more prominent on the iris)

AND if you look at his right eye (our left) you see this little light also disappear (here’s a gif I made compare sorry in advance for the quality-

LIKE OBVIOUSLY HE MOVES A BIT- but it’s just so interesting how when the light fades in his left eye there’s this weird like— outline the iris has around the light.

Also- it doesn’t really show on the gif but on his right eye when the light disappears you can sorta see more like— red lines in his eyes? So I feel like maybe they removed it or yknow something

Idk it’s all just things I’ve noticed and idk if any of this makes sense but 😌 yeah- I’m not fully knowledgeable on these things so there might be a better explanation but I wanted to be delusional for a bit today.

oh sorry to hear that! normally i do want to fulfill these kind of requests but personally i think adult sims look too young without it, cause they're supposed to in their 40s to 60s and most adults do have some wrinkles there. i could make a simple overlay skin detail to cover them up if you want, but it'd be too much work to make an additional default version for my skins without the wrinkles. and thank you for the kind words <3 !!

hi! i'm sorry, i made the original version like 1.5 years ago and the newer version of them that i uploaded i don't have the psd file for anymore. i'm making a new version of the asteria eyes as i mentioned in my last post with which i'll include the .psd though, and i'll add the old catchlights to it as an alternative.

maybe in the future i will, but i have to reupload all the thumbnails per swatch and gender for each file by hand so it's just such an annoying process to add more categories for them (and i really dont feel like doing it currently sorry 😫). if you want to you can also do it yourself easily if you don't mind them not having thumbnails with this tutorial.
