“Lost” (Lucius Malfoy x Fem!Reader
Tumblr media
this was requested by @headcannonsforlife !! i hope you enjoy :)
plot synopsis: you and lucius are on a nice outing to diagon alley when you get separated from him and both of you panic.
warnings: mentions of social anxiety and large crowds
“Diagon Alley.” You spoke loud and clear as you dropped the powder from your fingers. Emerald flames surrounded you and in no time, you found yourself right on Diagon Alley, your partner Lucius waiting patiently.
“There you are, dear.” He gave you a soft smile as he helped you out of the fireplace. As you went to go find your favorite shops, Lucius stopped you.
“Is there something wrong?” You asked. To your surprise, he took off one of his expensive leather gloves.
“You got soot on your face.” He mumbled. Lucius lightly licked the tip of his thumb and wiped away the spot on your cheek. Despite this action being innocent, you could see the seductive look in his eyes as he did this, and you felt your face heat up. “All better. Come along, (y/n).” After putting the glove back on, your partner gave you his arm, which you linked with yours with a smile.
The two of you began to walk down the cobblestone street, quietly exchanging in light conversation as you passed each shop. You noticed the strange looks you got as you passed, which you had expected. The gossip in the Ministry of Magic had traveled fast about the divorce of Lucius and Narcissa Malfoy, and only got quicker when you were spotted with Lucius three months ago at a restaurant. Of course, Rita Skeeter had managed to get news about you two and only made the rumors worse.
The two of you stopped in Flourish and Blotts just to look around for a bit. You found yourself a new interesting novel and bought it for yourself, then went back to Lucius, who led you outside.
“Darling, why did you by that yourself?” He asked. “I could’ve easily gotten that for you.”
“You don’t have to buy me everything, Lucius.” You replied with a laugh. As the two of you walked, you noticed how thick the crowd was starting to get. Great, big crowds... You thought to yourself. Keep it together...
The streets began to fill with people, but the two of you continued to walk. As you did, you felt yourself trip and drop your book. Instantly, you swooped down to grab it, which only made things worse as now you could see nothing but legs swarming you as you tried to snag the novel. It took a good four attempts, in fact, your fingers got stepped on during the third, but you managed to get it.
“Alright, sorry about that, where to-” Your voice cut off the instant you saw that your partner was no where to be found. You scanned the area for any sign of his white blond hair, but you couldn’t make anything out. You felt your heart begin to race and the pain in your index and middle fingers started to pulse. The pain only really now registered and you saw that your index finger was bleeding, and both were swelling slightly.
The noise of the voices overlapping from the crowd started to get much louder in your ears and sound like an ocean’s wave crashing. You started to sweat as you moved through the crowd, calling out your partner’s name every now and then. You were shoved left and right, the large group pushing their way for who knows the reason. For what seemed like hours, you struggled against the crowd. You felt an elbow to the ribs, and the wind was knocked out of you.
Frantically looking around, you managed to get off to the side to duck into an alleyway to try to breathe normally again and try to imagine where Lucius would be. He has to be looking for me, he’s probably worried to death...
Intense emotions started going off inside of your head like fireworks: overwhelming anxiety, frustration from letting go of Lucius, guilt for knowing he would be nervous as well, and fear for his safety and yours. Your heart felt as though it were about to burst as you clutched your book to your chest, trying to calm yourself down enough to think of what to do. Yet, your anxiety betrayed you and didn’t give you the chance to think anything else except how terrified and overwhelmed you were.
The sudden rush of people started to dwindle, but your legs were locked in place, despite trying to get yourself to move. You felt almost faint from how rapidly you were breathing and you felt yourself rest against the brick wall.
“Hey, are you alright?” A voice politely asked. Your head snapped to the left as you heard the voice. A girl with thick white blonde hair and blue eyes stood before you wearing a pink coat and flashy skirt. You took note of her radish earrings as you tried to get yourself to speak.
“I...” A man suddenly approached her, lightly grabbing her arm. His hair was the exact shade as hers.
“Luna, I’ve told you many times, please don’t wander off...” The second he saw you, his demeanor changed. “Are you lost?” You nodded, unable to form words. “We can help you out, no doubt about it.” Your tense legs seemed to relax and you let yourself walk forward, still holding onto your book.
“What’s your name?” The girl asked, her voice light and soothing.
“(Y/n)...” You spoke in a hoarse voice, your mouth and tongue parched from anxiety and not speaking.
“Well, we’ll help you.” The girl gave a soft smile and led you through the crowd, which had certainly calmed down. The man, whom you assumed was her father, went to your left side, the girl on the right.
“Is there someone you came here with?” The man’s voice was just as calming as the girl’s, and you could definitely tell they were related.
“Yes, Lucius Malfoy.” You replied.
“Malfoy, hm?” The girl spoke quietly. “His son wasn’t very nice to me at Hogwarts...”
Just as she was about to continue, that’s when you saw him. He was standing right by the edge of Knockturn Alley rather emotionless, and you sprinted to him. He saw you, and his cold expression wavered slightly once you got to him.
“There you are, dear.” Lucius grasped your hand, giving it a squeeze. You could tell he was just as anxious, but he was much better at hiding it. “I think we’ve had enough excitement for one day. We should get home.
“Wait!” You turned to the pair of people who’d helped you, the two of them just catching up to you. “I can’t thank you enough.”
“You’re welcome.” The man replied. The two nodded and turned to leave.
“Before you go, what were your names?” You asked.
“Lovegood.” The girl piped up. “I’m Luna.”
“Xenophilius Lovegood.” He gave you a small bow, then the two walked away. You felt a hand on your shoulder, and you turned to Lucius.
“There’s a Floo Powder station just a few shops down.” He nearly whispered. You could tell his anxiety was getting to him, and you grasped his hand bone-crushingly tight as he swiftly led you to the station. You quickly got into the fireplace and said “Malfoy Manor.”
Once you got home, Lucius followed only seconds after you. The second he stepped out of the fireplace, his cane hit the ground as he quickly approached you and took you in his arms. You could feel him trembling as his grip tightened around you. Your breathing slowed down, and your arms went around his waist, your face against his chest.
The two of you stood in silence for a bit. It was obvious that both of you needed to just feel the warmth of the other, to know that the other was right there. At last, you felt his lips lightly touch your forehead.
“I was so terrified...” Lucius spoke quietly. “I saw you go to grab your book, and I tried to go back to you, but the crowd pushed me forward.” His tone gave away the fact that he obviously blamed himself. You looked up at him and stared into his eyes. He cupped your chin and placed his lips against yours, humming gently. You let your eyes close as you kissed him back.
The sweet kiss lasted a few seconds, and he pulled away. Draping an arm around you, Lucius led you to the couch, where to two of you sat together in peace for the rest of the evening.
sorry if this wasn’t my best writing. i hope you all are well!

Ficmas~ Day 9
Pairing: Mckirk x Gender Neutral!Reader
Word Count: 1125
Warnings: Mention of alcohol
Summary: With the prospect of getting reapproved for hand to hand combat and Leonard going on the last away mission of the year, you spent the day cleaning and baking.
Requested by: @headcannonsforlife
A/n: I think I'm going insane with the amount of fics that I have to write. And this is only the 9th.
Tumblr media
"It smells so good here, doll. What are you making?" A familiar blonde haired bounced into the kitchen, and immediately recoiled at the smell of cleaning products.
"Baking," You spoke flatly, scrubbing away at the faucet. "And cleaning. Too much stress."
"Bones will do fine down there. He'll be back soon."
You glared at him before resuming your task. With his hands up in surrender, the Captain continued letting you clean and bake as you wish. Why Leonard volunteered to go down on an away mission on a Class M planet was beyond you. So to keep yourself from biting off Jim's head, you decided to stress bake.
"Did he say anything new?" You asked, checking on the latest batch of cookies.
"Only to say and I quote "Too many goddamn infants running around," Jim spoke, pushing himself onto the counter to get a better look around.
You shook your head, grabbing the oven mitts when the cookies were done. "Typical. Now come help."
"Want a taste tester?" He asked, already reaching for one.
Gently, you slapped it away.
"Nuh uh, mister. Touch those cookies and you die," You brandished a whisk at him. "I've already tried the battery, just need to put the ones from the oven onto the cooling rack, and those on the rack into a container."
He pouted at you, but pushed his sleeves up anyways. "How many have you made?"
You concentrated on scooping dollops of cookie dough onto the parchment paper. "I'm gonna make as much as I can, so that everyone on this ship can have at least one. It's about twenty per tray, around ten minutes each, and I've been baking since Len beamed down onto the planet."
Quickly the blonde did the math in his head. One quick glance at the amount of containers and then at the chron, there was a rough estimate.
"So about three hundred forty?" He popped the lid of a container to put in two more cookies.
"Yeah, give or take. Only thing I thought of to do since I'm still waiting for the exam results to return," You nodded, washing your hands to start the next match. "Hand to hand combat and phaser were both today."
"And how did you do?"
"Terrible. The hand to hand combat didn't go as I planned. I know I did well with the phaser, just the simulation threw me off in the beginning," You mumbled. "I mean I know at least passed, but not with flying colors."
"I'm sure you'll do fine, Y/N."
An amiable silence filled in as you and Jim worked together. He poured in the ingredients, you whisked and scooped into small portions onto the tray. It was repetitive, and the motions distracted you for a while.
"There we go. Maybe two more batches and get these chicken fried steak warmed up," You wiped the sweat from your forehead with the back of a hand, and wiped the flour on the apron.
"Three hours," Jim spoke, wiping the sink.
Ring!
You and him shared a glance.
"Kirk here."
"Captain, the away team are ready to be beamed up at any moment now."
Your eyes widened.
"I'll be down shortly, Scotty." He snapped his comm away, and held you tightly in his arms. "Hold on for a little longer, doll. I'll bring him back home. I swear it."
Instead you kissed him, desperation, love, and anxiety poured in. Thankfully, your boyfriend understood. You didn't really know what you would do if one didn't return.
"Dinner. Wait for me and Bones. Understand?"
You nodded before reluctantly letting him go. "Go get him."
You waited.
And waited some more.
Cleaned a little more before finishing the last of the gravy and the coleslaw. The table was set. The candles cautiously placed on, and lighted. The chicken noodle soup bubbled warmly on the stove, and green beans just needed to drop into the boiling water for a couple minutes before it too was done.
Bourbon and Scotch bottles were popped, and a generous glug were poured into three glasses. Now all you needed were the star of the show. You could've gone down to the Teleporter Room with Jim, but Leonard would still have to stop by Medbay anyways to get himself checked.
Curling up on the sofa, you settled down with your PADD and comm. You loved them both, Jim and Leonard. Both boyfriends were wonderful, and if you were honest, you would thank your luckiest stars that they were still alive and well.
Being on the USS Enterprise, anything could happen. Literally. Space was wild, and all the people you loved and cherished were out here with you too. With that in mind, you started the first of many mindless videos.
"We're home!"
Dropping your PADD, you rushed to the door where you met your favorite doctor, clothes dirtied, but alive. Without a doubt, you hurried into his waiting arms in the same manner a child would do.
"Len!"
"Hi sweetheart. Miss me?" He chuckled.
"I missed you so. So. Much," You nearly cried in happiness. "What took you so long?"
"Where's my hug?" Jim pouted, but nonetheless hugged you both.
"How about over dinner? Goddamn infants down there didn't think about making food," He snorted.
"And maybe a shower and some change of clothes. You stink," You wrinkled your nose, wiggling out of his grasp.
He laughed, and you smiled inwardly. You could get used to the sound. A good twelve hours away from the ship, but the wait was agonizingly slow.
"Come on. Dinner's gonna go cold if you continue standing there," You spoke. "Jim, could you throw the green beans in? They only need a couple minutes in the boiling water."
"You made all this from scratch, sweetheart?" Leonard was the first one to speak after cleaning his plate, and polishing it off with a nice glass of bourbon.
You nodded, spooning the last amount of mashed potatoes onto the plate. Thank god they turned out well. There was no way you would replicate one from the replicator, nearly everything from it tasted like cardboard. "And some cookies still in the oven."
"Some?!" Jim spoke incredulously. "Get this Bones. Y/N baked enough cookies so that the entire ship could have at least one."
You smiled weakly. "It was that or I clean the entire quarters a second time today."
"Save some for me, darlin'. Good god, one day I need to get that recipe off your hands. I swear you can win a contest with them." He had noticed the cleaning products in the bathroom, but said nothing about it.
As the doctor continued praising your chocolate chip cookies, a hint of smile twitched at the corners. This was home.

Just the way you are
Request: Can I please request a thranduil with a s/o who uses happiness and kinda self-depricating jokes to ignore their insecuritites and depression. Like if someone says “that looks like shit” their immediate answer would be “just like me” you can basically go anywhere with this, ill give you the creative freedom
Note: This was a Thranduil x Reader request for @headcannonsforlife. As you can see I suck at coming up with titles, but I’m trying to make it work so I can create a masterlist. It took a little while writing this, but I’m really glad with how it turned out. I hope you like it too!
Tumblr media
Thranduil and you were making your way down the cellars o do some wine-tasting. The both of you finally had some time off your duties, and trying out the new wine that arrived from Imladris seemed like the perfect way to spend a relaxing day together. You both were laughing and joking about all kinds of silly things, your crowns somewhere disregarded on a side table. The two of you had already drank quite a few bottles when you went to open another one.
“Do you really think that’s a good idea melleth nîn?” Thranduil asked, an amused smile on his face. Elves were known for having a high tolerance for alcohol, but judging by your slightly hazy eyes you had had enough wine for today.
“But of course! This is a great drink after all, and I really like how sweet it tastes.” you answered cheerfully, giggling as you refilled your glasses. Your husband chuckled, and taking a sip from the red liquid he warned,
“You’re going to hate yourself in the morning, darling.”
“Haha, jokes on you, I already hate myself in the morning.”
That made Thranduil choke, and you looked up confused to see him having a coughing fit.
“Perhaps we did have enough wine for today.” you grinned, before gently taking his arm and leading him to your shared chambers.
Thranduil tried to forget what you had said, telling himself it was just one of your silly jokes, but it was quite hard to do so as you kept on making them in the days that followed. For example, when a guard came to report how the mission to hunt down the spiders had went, he had given a graphic description of how the spiders were killed. After he had left, Thranduil spoke,
“Well that was disgusting.” to which you answered,
“Just like me.” followed by your laugh. The elvenking looked horrified, but you didn’t even seem to realize what you were saying. And then there was a time where you accidentally knocked off some books and important papers of the table. Thranduil wasn’t mad of course, but before he could say anything you let out a sigh and said, “Welp, there goes the book and important papers, just like my ability to do even the simplest of things right, haha.”
Right now the two of you were in your shared chambers, with Thranduil reading on the bed and you in front of the vanity. You had just gotten out of the bath and were now trying to fix your hair. With the keyword being try. No matter what you tried, you couldn’t get the knots out of your hair. With a frustrated grunt you put down the hairbrush, catching the attention of Thranduil.
“Melleth nîn, are you alright?” he asked.
“Yes, yes, I’m fine,” you muttered, “it’s just that my hair is a mess and refuses to cooperate, not that it really matters. I’d look bad either way.” and you let out a dry chuckle. That was it for Thranduil. He put away his book and walked up to you, picking up the brush on the vanity before he started working on your hair. The two of you sat in a comfortable silence, the feeling of Thranduil’s slender fingers weaving throught your h/c lockes soothed you, and it didn’t take long before Thranduil started humming.
“There, all done.” he said, putting down the brush. Looking in the mirror you saw that all the knots were gone. Smiling, you stood up and place a kiss on your husband’s cheeck.
“Thank you, my love.” but as you tried to make your way to the bed, Thranduil gently pulled you back, spinning you around so you could look at him.
“Y/n...” he sighed, “are you alright, hiril vuin?” You looked up into his icy-blue eyes, which were filled with concern.
“Of course I am,” you answered, a bit confused, “why wouldn’t I be?”
“Lately you have been... making some questionable jokes. Saying bad things about yourself and then laughing about it.”
“Ohh is that what you’re talking about?” and a chuckle left your lips. “Don’t worry Thranduil, they’re just jokes.”
“But do you mean them?” Thranduil inquired, already knowing the answer. You cast you eyes downward, embarrassed. You did mean those things, but you couldn’t bring yourself to admit it, not wanting him to worry. At you lack of an answer Thranduil put a finger under your chin, making you look up at him, then he spoke,
“Y/n, you are by far the most radiant and divine being I have ever laid my eyes upon. You are intelligent, kind, funny, and my heart yearns to be in your company every moment of the day. I feel blessed to call such a wonderful person my wife and I would give you all the stars of Varda need you only ask. So please, don’t speak so low of yourself, you are worth far more than anything Middle-Earth has to offer.”
You were stunned, searching his face for any sign of lies, but only found pure love and adoration. Overwhelmed with all kinds of emotions, you could only mutter out a small ‘thank you’ before pressing your face into his chest. You hadn’t known how much you needed to hear those words, but now that you had you started to believe that maybe they were true. Thranduil placed a hand on your cheek, whispered,
“You are worth more than the sun and stars combined.” before catching your lips in a gentle, loving kiss.
