Heks ontwaakt met een kater in haar snater. IJzeren pin steekt binnenin een krater in haar tater. Maar de echte flater komt later. Het is geen gewone ouderwetse alcoholvrije ME kater…. Nee. Ik heb raar gedroomd. En: Voorouderaltaartje krijgt gezellig staartje.

‘Hoe laat hadden we ook alweer afgesproken? Er staan twee tijdstippen in mijn agenda, 11 uur en 12 uur….’ beantwoord ik de app van mijn homeopaat. Ze maakt me attent op de defecte lift in het gebouw, waar haar praktijk gevestigd is. Is dat bezwaarlijk? Nee, we komen die spekgladde houten wenteltrap wel op. Er weer af wordt moeilijker. Vooral voor VikThor.

We besluiten het te houden op half 12.…

Something in the Canyon: October 18, 2014

There was definitely something - some THINGS - in the canyon!

It's beautiful seeing that everyone was very helpful and supportive.

I love seeing the beautiful souls at this event and encountering them again. so many musicians, healers, and artists, it was a unique event where we could exercise our creativity, so...

Rafaella and I had gone on a trek to salvage some craigslist products to build an art installation. Universe is funny: we found everything we needed from freebies on the side of the road and only picked up 1 of the craigslist items. I'm very happy for that manifestation of abundance!

Building and seeing the installation become real and bulding Rafaella's vision was inspiring. It involved 2 cabinets, one was a question cabinet and the other an answer cabinet. Anybody could write a question or an answer, and also choose a question to see if it synched up with something in their life.

Grateful to have deep realizations. I was a little angry in the morning and after we set up the installation, I had the question of why I was so angry floating in my mind. I picked up a folded piece of paper that read "Welcome to the machine". I saw that anger, basically any mood, is a fleeting energy burst. You can be in it and also observe it without taking it so seriously and putting the situation into perspective.

Knowing that it was a "leave no trace" event, I was saddened when I noticed paper food containers left on the rocks of the property owner's home. I got to see how that triggers me, and how if one person isn't doing their part, it effects us all. Just out of respect for the person that is giving their home for many people to use, I saw that prefer to throw away my trash or take it with me until it can be disposed of properly. Although seeing it from a larger perspective, I still felt like I wanted to clean and that the idea of the event was to clean everything up.

Watching people dance and do yoga: it was good to be around that energy and it made me feel open to being myself. The love and smiles from people was palpable.

We had two helpers that helped pass out our business cards and help oversee the installation. SO GRATEFUL that we had them to help, because moving everything from the car was challenging. One of our helpers had kids, and they were so awesome. When they both gave Rafaella a hug, my heart melted.

I'm thankful for all the people that we met and got to do readings for!

To all the members and planners and doers of Something in the Canyon, we are extremely happy and grateful that we got to be part of this event! Three cheers for Something!
