Headcanon: Haitham will give you all the reassurance you need when you ask him "Would you still love me if I were a worm?"
He is the type of person to send you an essay explaining about how much he treasure you and would still love & take care of you even if you were a worm. Something that doesn't benefit him in anyway. Something that (theoretically) holds no value to him.
I've seen a handful of fanfics that depict him as "Whatever. It doesn't matter even if you break up with me, I don't care". I know sometimes it's purely for the sake of angsty elements and to serve the hurt/no comfort genre, but I personally view him as someone who take love very seriously. He may enter a marriage without love for convenience, but if he decides to go out with someone then he is 100% deadass serious about it. Beside, he is not the cold hearted type. I feel like people are only focusing on his interaction with Kaveh to interpret his character 🥹
Okay I'll be implementing this hc in my comeback fic
more ramble about love and myself because I need to escape anything that's school-related for now
There's a word in Vietnamese that I think defines love perfectly.
"Thương" (槍 in Sino-VNese). It consists of "Heart" or "Mind" (心), and "Storehouse" or "Holding" (倉).
To "thương" is to adore someone (I have never seen anyone use this word for objects) with all of your heart and mind, but is also to be patient and generous housing that love. "Anh thương em" is much more emotional than "Anh yêu em". Even if they are both said in a romantic manner, and briefly translate to "I love you". Yes, thương can be use both romantically and platonically, as well as for parental/maternal love.
Ah, to experience true love.
I grew up in a household without any kind of "love". I'm pretty sure my mom is AroAce. Even if she acts unbothered by it, I can tell she is insecure that she couldn't bring herself to marry anyone. And hence me, her trophy child, with the help of medical procedures, was born. To fulfill her dream of having a happy marriage, as well as to prove that without a husband, she is still successful.
Same goes for most of the other family members I know. One of my uncle is happily married to the girl he loves tho. But I rarely see them.
The only other married couple I know about is my grandparents. And all that I can recall about them are daily arguments. Liquors. Smokings. And gossips.
The only time that I'm "loved" is when I have proven myself to be worthy of it: Graduated with honors, won awards, good grades, being a good friend, so on.
Ah. No wonder why despite having so many suitors, I never accept anyone's love confession. If it weren't the doing of Mr. Ghost in the first place. I'm scared that the only thing they saw in me was my facade of a "perfect human being". And that when I'm no longer able to keep the role going, they will turn their back on me.
KK.

Next-gen Special Characters
the concept of the next animal crossing should be a new vs old gen style thing where we get more NPCs like daisy mae flick and CJ and the older gen NPCs become once a month fill-ins for them (excuse being the main new gen is sick, travelling, etc.) with all the previous new leaf NPCs roles returning and not shoved away like how the post office was replaced by just a boring card stand (ideas listed below)
the nooklings replace nook, no longer just separate roles but overtaking the store business with the signature blue tom nook apron look, they also are the ones to help the player build a house and instead of nook or isabelle declaring you "island rep" (aka GOD) or mayor, the player gets to be a construction worker for an up and coming nook inc in a new town shaped similar to the first animal crossing gcn game with a train station, levels of town that descend, all the minigames from gcn, and a new leaf town plaza (and any other big traits from previous games that feel impactful)
isabelle has moved to a new area to become the mayor of a brand new GCN-style town. if there was a way to link new leaf isabelle would have a portrait of the new leaf mayor on her desk, but it would likely pull from new horizons save data instead and show the island rep. tortimer fills in, taking a vacation from his retirement life by indulging in mayor duties while isabelle visits her previous workplaces. this replacement only happens after getting a lighthouse facility installed to complete the lighthouse thing that existed in the first title. he becomes cornimer in fall.
label replaces gracie's role in new leaf as the ultimate unlockable with the fashion checks, with her own brand of furniture and selling the previous gracie furniture (excluding the gracie series, bought once a month when she replaces label, and the princess series, which i repurposed for a later bullet point)
mabel takes full shop ownership and sable creates her own smaller version, explaining in the prologue she wants mable to try and manage the shop on her own since she's grown up. sable will have her own mini tailors that you build in the intro to the game's format similar to how it was in new horizons, moving out of able sisters on main streeet
the dodos replace the pelicans for mail service by seaplane, with mainstreet having a visible seaplane area behind the post office
leila replaces kapp'n but shes still really young, but she can speak full sentences and instead of playing shop she's playing boat in a row boat (she also sings, and has a new kk song called marine song 20XX whichever year the game comes out)
reese and cyrus have a purple-fleeced kid who they let run the shop kind of like how leila plays shop in new leaf tortimer island, but reese and cyrus are both still present in the building, taking over once a month because their kid is sick
harvey and harriet also have a kid running shampoodle
lottie now manages happy home instead of lyle
wardell replaces wendell
niko replaces digby
the ok motors pigeons from pocket camp have an RV coffee shop on main street the player can work for, while the roost can be developed as a small building in the town run by brewster
redd has triplets that he trains under him to mirror the nooklings, and puts on a fake "retired from crime" facade while his underlings carry out his dirty work, selling fake art but also spying on the town, disguised as a rock the player can "break" on the day before the triplets visit. he manages the fireworks stand like normal, with the triplets coming to make their own brand of fireworks they suddenly launch at 3:33am
frillard and farley return as the "old" gen counterparts to shrunk and leif, with shrunk returning for the club lol and leif running a garden center that slowly expands in crop selection with each upgrade, and allowing the player's town perfect fruit to change. farley sets up a small gnome flower shop that looks like the level 1 garden store in new leaf. the unlock requirement is a perfect town, he would be the only way to store flowers and he can make shrubs bloom regardless of season. he doesnt replace leif as a store runner, but you can see him as a statue outside the store once a month, removed from his fountain area. (im torn between him being the way to get a perfect town and maintaining his wishing well spirit role or this, but i think it would be better to return as the spirit. in that case i think daisy mae runs a vegetable shop, selling turnips on sunday from there and joan visits once a month)
flick and cj are
the snowfolk family idea should return, but they each evolved by one parent stage: snowman is snowgramps with the bingo eyes, snowmaam is snowgran wanting icicles for the ice/frozen series, snowboy is now snowman and mails the snowman series, snowtyke is now snowboy and gives you the same stuff as new leaf, and snowtyke's proportions are repurposed for a new snowtyke with a snow ponytail and she mails you pieces of the princess series (frozen reference that i think is funny)
theres a few special characters that i have NO idea how to replace since they feel so unique and special or dont have any easy replacements
blathers/celeste becoming parents or uncle/aunt to another owl feels REALLY unnatural (only thing i can think of is blathers and brewster get married and adopt a kid)
the resetti moles should get a replacement somehow but i dont know how they would work due to autosaving, maybe they run a town data transfer service? or they create new save files to play on to stop limiting to one per cartridge/console?
the police dogs' new gen should run a community center (acab) akin to stardew's, or they adopt a kid who runs it (gay marriage option #2)
i could see porter staying? he doesnt feel like an old gen and being champ in wild world/city folk i feel like he needs to be in another game to flesh out his personality more. he could always have his old gen counterpart become rover
luna has no real replacement either and she feels equally as new as porter, but they could maybe make her a leap year holiday NPC since that's when her birthday is and replace the dream mechanic with something like the uploaded houses from HHD/HHP
leif could become an earth day holiday NPC, with earth day being like weeding day from new leaf and rewarding with different styles of topiaries, or have either a new younger sibling or leif is the older gen version of a new elderly special character sloth that raised leif and is equally as cheery and happy
the other holiday NPCs like jingle, zipper, blanca and jack dont really have a replacement but i think making them stay the same turns them into more of a mythical unaging santa claus figure, but pave and franklin could have replacements since their holidays dont have a mythical aspect to them
gulliver's pretty hard to replace since he seems too adventerous to settle down with a kid, and it doesnt make sense personally to create a brand new younger character to replace him. i think they could go back to his astronaut UFO design since its been two games now since its appearance
phineas feels like he should just age more instead of having a descendant since he was removed from new horizons and replaced with the nook mile achievements over the badge system on the resident ID card (which should come back on the passport)
pascal feels too young to be replaced by anyone, so he could set up some sort of library cave area that appears on the beach and you can only access every so often (like the reset center in previous games) to show him settling down and less nomadic than before
saharah and katrina can have brand new designs, either full replacements to be less orientalist or they have children that are around lke 10-13 years old
wisp being a ghost would be EXTREMELY STRANGE to have a relative/replacement so i think they should just change him again to be something new, maybe you find his pieces and assemble him instead of finding and then scaring him, and assembling him you find out he was an old king, but its very clearly him roleplaying as one the more times you assemble him
the other special characters i didnt mention (i looked at the wiki when making this) are katie/kaitlyn, serena, the rest of kapp'n family, and lloid: if katie comes back she could be grown up and still travelling but idk how kaitlyn could come back; serena could become the new farley???? i guess?? but i overall think farley works the best since hes the only (?) non-animal character in animal crossing (gnome) and serena is just like. chihuahua; kapp'ns family can easily also replace leila for the once a month thing and then lloid is lloid idrc

I’m tired and haven’t been writing much, but I sat down and wrote this tonight, so here ya go. It’s an untitled ficlet, Winterhawk if you squint, and utter nonsense. The word prompt was CHALLENGE.
"I bet you can't."
Clint raised his eyebrows. "Oh, you're on," he said, sticking out his hand.
Bucky slapped the darts into his palm. "I get to spin you around," he said.
"Sure," Clint agreed.
Steve was leaning against the wall next to the dart board, shaking his head. "You're gonna regret this, pal," he said, the Brooklyn coming out strong like it always did when he was talking to Bucky.
"No way in hell," Bucky said. He was scowling, his arms crossed across his chest.
"What do I get if I win?" Clint asked, winking at him.
"You're not gettin' anything, 'cause you're not gonna win," Bucky said.
"Come on, man, at least promise me a beer," Clint wheedled. "I need proper motivation." "Hell," Bucky said, "if you win, I'll buy you a whole damn bar."
---
"Where are we going?" Clint stumbled over a crack in the sidewalk and then hurried to catch up with Bucky. He might be taller, but he was more of an ambler. Bucky always walked like he had somewhere to be.
"You'll see," Bucky said. His voice was gruff, as usual, but he slowed his pace to allow Clint to walk alongside him.
They stopped on a corner to wait for the light to change and Clint shifted from foot to foot. "This isn't that far from my apartment," he said. He stilled for a second. "Hey! We could go visit Lucky!" He pulled out his phone to text Kate.
"Sure." Bucky shook his hair out of his face. He wasn't exactly smiling, but his mouth was curling up at the corners the slightest bit. "But after we get where we're going, Barton."
were u at? Clint sent to Kate, then shoved his phone back in his pocket. It immediately buzzed, but he waited until they had crossed the street before pulling it out again.
Kate had sent a selfie of her and Lucky, heads both pillowed on the arm of her couch.
"Aw," Clint said, and turned the phone so Bucky would see.
Bucky just raised his eyebrow.
"Kate watches Lucky for me when I'm Avenging and stuff," Clint said. He typed i wanna see my dog in person. meet at my place later?
Kk, Kate sent back. 7?
Clint sent her three thumbs up emojis and put his phone away. "She's gonna meet us at seven," he said happily.
Bucky didn't answer. He stopped abruptly in front of a run down building with a blank brick facade. The sign, which had seen better days, said Morrison's. "We're here."
"What?" Clint squinted at the sign. "We are? Where is here?"
Pulling open the door, Bucky jerked his head at Clint. "Come on," he said.
It took a second for Clint's eyes to adjust to the dimness of the room, and when he could see again, his mouth fell open. Natasha was behind the bar, laughing and handing a highball glass to Tony. Steve, Sam, and Bruce already had bottled beers, all three of them turning as Bucky and Clint walked in.
"What." Clint blinked. He looked at Bucky, whose face was doing something uncertain and complicated. "James Buchannan Barnes," he said, a grin threatening to spread over his face, "did you buy me a fucking bar?"
Bucky ducked his head, his hair swinging down to hide his face. "A bet's a bet," he mumbled.
"Bucky," Clint said, and took a chance, reaching out and brushing Bucky's hair back, sweeping his thumb across his cheek. "You didn't have to." He let his hand rest lightly on Bucky's shoulder, not holding him, but keeping the connection.
Bucky stared at him, eyes wide, darting to Clint's hand and then back up to his face. He blew out a breath, then grinned, suddenly, and Clint felt the full force of it like a punch to the gut. "Well, if you don't want it ..."
"Oh no," Clint said, slinging his arm fully around Bucky's shoulders and propelling them toward the bar. "No takebacks, nuh uh. This is my bar now. I'm gonna name it Debarchery."
"Clint, no," Bucky said, but he was laughing, Clint could tell, pressed up against his side.
"I told you you would regret it," Steve said.
Natasha popped the top of two more beers and slid them over. She leaned her elbows on the bar, resting her chin in her hands. Her eyes were sparkling. "Did he tell you what he's going to name it?" she asked.
"It's too terrible to repeat," Bucky said. He made no move to duck out from under Clint's arm.
"Debarchery," Clint proclaimed. He had a warm feeling growing in his chest. It felt something like happiness.
Laughter greeted this pronouncement, then everyone started talking, outdoing each other with one archery pun after another.
Clint glanced down at Bucky, warm against his side. Their eyes met and caught. "Thanks," he said softly.
"Any time," Bucky said.

Coffee Bean
Spencer Reid x Reader
In which Spencer always tastes like coffee
Note: I worked super hard on the profiling because i was bored so i hope it doesnt suck. Gif isn’t mine.
Tumblr media
Spencer always woke up tasting like coffee. Every morning, regardless of what time you rolled over and kissed him, he tasted like coffee and smelled like cinnamon. You wondered if it was magic, simply because there's no way, if he had his last cup of coffee sometime in the afternoon, ate dinner, and brushed his teeth before sleeping, that he still tasted like coffee when you woke up.
On cases you understood. The team would work till they were about to drop, so naturally all of you were chugging coffee, but even at home he tasted like coffee.
"I just don't get it though! Unless he's sneaking coffee at three in the morning I don't know why he always tastes like coffee." Emily shrugged, turning her head over to get a perfect ponytail.
"Why don't you ask him?"
"He'd spout some bullshit." Emily laughed, unlocking the hotel safe and handing your gun to you. Both of you did final checks and then left the hotel room. The team was eating in the dining room, JJ, Rossi, and Derek still yet to come down.
"Morning, guys," Emily called. Spencer turned and you leaned down to kiss him softly. He tasted like coffee and the pancakes he was eating.
"Morning, lovebirds," Derek's voice came. You all ate quickly, talking over breakfast about what the plan was. Spencer would work on the geographical profile, which was proving near impossible to pin down. Hotch and you were going to the crime scene from the afternoon before to try and get fresh eyes on it, and Emily and Derek were going to the first victims house to see if they could get anything off the surveillance cameras with Garcia's help. Kk and Rossi were going to canvas the neighborhood and talk to people around the gated community.
You split up from the local PD, taking a few officers along to the crime scene.
"He's taking the men into the basement and pretending to excecute them, tying the families up on the second floor."
"Why would he take two flights of stairs if he could just take one?" A deputy asked.
"One reason is because no one could come up and see that they're tied up. Every house has a three car garage and no one in the neighborhood has cars outside. If the house is quiet, no one can see the cars, and there's no people inside anyone who comes up will assume their out. Couple that with the fact that he's killing on weekends, people think the families are out for the weekend. He does all this intentionally to put up the facade long enough to go through with the killings of the man in charge. He most likely kills because he feels that his father was inadequate. He grew up in a home like this and he thinks he understands the family dynamic. The father is in charge and the mothers and children are victims. He treats them with extra care, letting them sleep in beds and only tying them up when he's not watching them."
"So he won't attack couples without children."
"Not by choice," Hotch said, parking the car behind a CSI truck, "But if his compulsion is strong enough and his rage is based on his father's treatment of his mother, then he may." You gained nothing new from the crime scene, just more of the same old. He wore gloves all the time and a mask when he was around the mother and children. They were always set free.
"(Y/N), call Morgan and Prentiss, let them know we're going back to the station and that we're going to interview the family."
"Morgan."
"Hey Derek."
"Reid, what's up?"
"Hotch and I are headed back to the PD to talk to the families. Any luck with the cameras?"
"Nothing, the guy either lives here or he fits in perfectly with the community. No ones noticed anything odd and from what we've seen there's nothing odd anyway."
"Thanks."
"Morgan says that either he lives in the community or he fits in perfectly so no one notices him." Hotch watched the road with his thinking face on. You always joked you could see the gears turning on his face.
"Call Garcia, see if there's anyone who comes in regularly. Friends of people who live here who come and go as they please because they're a familiar face. Men anywhere from twenty-three to forty."
"What are you thinking?"
"He fits in seamlessly. He grew up in a community like this. What if he comes in with a friend for the weekend, says he's heading out and never does. Instead he breaks into another house and subdues the families by grabbing a child and threatening them. Dad ties up the wife and kids and he takes the Dad to the basement."
"I'll call Garcia." You dialed as the SUV pulled into the station.
"Office of supreme genius. Speak and you will be heard."
"Hey Penelope, I have some search parameters, you ready?"
"I was born ready, honey." You laughed, hopping out of the car and walking towards the PD doors.
"Look up anyone associated with a family that lives in the neighborhood. Middle class white man in his 30s or 40s. He checks into the gated community a lot and doesn't check out till a Sunday night or Monday morning. He had an abusive father and a mother who protected him as a child, probably has multiple hospital visits."
"Alright, I'm up and running. I'll hit you back as soon as I get anything." You say down in a seat around the conference table, surveying the board where Spencer had been working.
"Thank you, Garcia." She hung up and you turned your attention to Spencer, who was explaining to Hotch how the radius of the killings fit into a certain area.
"I think we're looking for an African American man. You can see that although the groups are not officially segregated the white families are on this side of the neighborhood while mixed and black families are over here. They all fall under the same socioeconomic classes, but they've separated themselves."
"I'll call Garcia," Hotch said, flipping open his phone, "You two get Rossi and Prentiss to let them know." You nodded and Spencer dialed 2, JJ's speed dial, and you hit the same, Emily's.
"Hey, we think he might be African American. Based on the areas he's-" Spencer paused and waved down Hotch, "They got him. He was in another house. JJ took him down with Rossi." You relayed the message to Emily and hung up while Hotch did the same for Garcia.
"Was he African American?"
"Hispanic. Pedro Temore. He lived in New England before he moved here with his wife and kids. Father was abusive, mother protected him."
"Does he know someone in the community?" Hotch asked, already starting to clean up the files littered on the desk.
"Better. He was a night watchman on the weekends when he doesn't work. His family only lives in the community because he works weekends, but people around were friends with him, said he was always nice and never hostile towards anyone."
"Not even the father's." Spencer shook his head.
"Spence, how'd you know all that? You were on the phone for like a minute." Spencer laughed a little bit.
"We interviewed him when we got here. He reported the second body." Hotch's eyes narrowed. It had been a long case, even though it wasn't very bloody. The unsub has kept a cool head, he could do that because he knew the cops weren't on to him.
"Well, you two can head back to the hotel. Derek is going to do the interrogation, but they caught him in the act, he'll be in jail before lunch." Spencer nodded, and you helped him untack the things on the board. You put everything into a PD box and handed it off to an officer. Spencer snatched your hand as soon as it was free and lead the way down the street to the hotel you were staying at.
"I'm going to take a shower before we get goig," you said as you walked into the lobby, fishing your room key out of your pocket.
"Okay, don't fall," he joked.
"I'll try," you replied, kissing him lightly before getting out of the elevator. He tasted like the terrible coffee they had at the police department. You sighed, rollin your eyes and walked down the hall to your room.
-/-/-/-
"The plane is refueling, we should be out of here in an hour," Hotch said, putting his phone away. Everyone settled into the airport chairs and closed their eyes.
"Why'd you roll your eyes at me earlier?" Spencer asked, out of the blue.
"What?"
"When you got off the elevator, you rolled your eyes." You snorted a little bit and Spencer smiled.
"You always taste like coffee. No matter what time of the day. I wake up before you and you taste like coffee." Spencer stared at you for a long second and then started laughing. Emily looked over with a concerned look on her face.
"(Y/N), you always taste like coffee. Not me. You wake up and make coffee and kiss me good morning, you're dressed before me and kiss me after I brush my teeth. You're the one who always tastes like coffee." You paused a second, thinking through all those little moments. Then you stared at him dumbfounded.
"Why do you think I call you coffee bean?" He asked, with an amused look on his face.
"Uhm.... because you love me?" Spencer laughed and pulled you into his arms so he could kiss your head.
"Yes, I love you a lot, coffee bean."

Week 6 - Architecture
Bay View’s Avalon Theatre
Tumblr media
The Art Deco facade of The Avalon Theatre with twisted columns, papyrus-clad Egyptian-looking embellishments and Greek key patterns. Columns have Corinthian capitals and a repeating step pattern between them. Built in 1929 by Russell Barr Williamson, a Milwaukee native. Williamson was considered a “disciple of Frank Lloyd Wright” (OnMilwaukee.com, “Urban Spelunking”) after having worked for him. His work on the Avalon is considered “Mediterranean Revival” but the geometric paned-glass windows and the very rectangular edging on the walls (not pictured) give this building a very 1930s glam Deco feel.
St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church
Tumblr media
Gothic Revival in many ways. With its iconic Gothic Revival pointed arches St. Lucas was built in 1872. Super slender columns, flat and stacked arches, iron work and extremely steep pitched roofs and steeples all in the classic Gothic Revival style found in so many churches.
The US Bank Building
Tumblr media
Modernist and even Brutalist. Heavy and angular with simple square windows, whites and angular lines. Ugly. Hideous. I find nothing redeeming about this building. To say that Modernist draws from De Stijl makes me sad. I see the similarities but argue that there’s so much intentional art and purpose in De Stijl design that isn’t found in the cold and angular concrete construction of a modernist building like the US Bank Building. It was built in the early 1970s and features a steel frame with white aluminum as its facade. The diagonal trusses at about 1/3 of the way from the bottom of the building are both aesthetic and functional - they serve as a major support system for the building. Still ugly.
Neoclassical Disaster on KinnicKinnic
Tumblr media
Originally the German American Bank and bought by Joyce Parker Productions in 1988, this neoclassical building on KK is really tough to look at. Built in 1925, it features columns with fluting and Doric capitals. The entablature is boring/nonexistent. Perhaps its the juxtaposition of the forced neoclassical style and the dumpy air-conditioning unit with more modern metal windows, but this building looks primed for a good old fashioned bank robbery. At least that would be something interesting.
