what do you think of miss vietnam?
Algeria: " i really like her company, but we do not talk as much as we should, i wish to build a stronger alliance in the future"
Algeria: "and i'm eternally grateful for that,"
The picture:
[Notes: Arise VietAlge nation there is much to speak of about these historical links, here are some interesting facts: Vietnamese monarch Hàm Nghi was exiled to Algeria in the 19th century after resisting french conquest, which coulld be their first contact. They both lived under France for a while, they could have met at the time too and bonded over being captive. Algeria wasn't just a colony to France, he was a part of France and got dragged to all his wars, including Indochina war, which led Algerians to meet the strong resistence of the Vietnamese people, it gave great inspiration for Algeria to fight France and get free, with Vietnam smuggling weapons to Algeria. After liberation, they officially established relations and many Vietnamese moved to Algeria and married Algerians creating this mixed community that is still present today. Algeria was in favor of Vietnam joining The non-Alignement movement (NAM) which they were both active members in, Algeria is still very fond of that movement and carries big hopes for the global south. Coincidentaly Algeria is wearing Batna's traditional clothes, and i just read today that Batna was recently made a twin city to Điện Biên Phủ. Today the two countries feel like their relations could expand further.
Outside of this, just feel like their minds align in many areas and so do their personalities. Sorry for rumbling!
Also don't mind the pic, i had to draw these four together at least once to get it off my bucket list, we'll pretend it was at the Algiers summit w khlas. ]
