csm impresses me in a lot of ways but the thing that most consistently knocks me on my ass is just how much it will keep you on your toes. It's so fucking unpredictable. Not in the shitty way where it just pulls a bunch of bullshit blind twists out of thin air, but like, if you try to use a sort of general narrative or genre-savy-ness on it and compare it to other action series[or whatever other type of series you find it similar to] to figure out where it wants to head next, you will always be barking up the wrong tree. More often than not you can't even get a base to start from because the tone and plot structure is so far off in its own insane little world that there's not even a good comparison to start to make. You cannot ever get a solid read on this show and when you think you do you will be wrong.
