[OOC] Suicidal thoughts are something I struggle with. Please reblog this. I’ll be reblogging this on my non-RP blog as well, but I thought it would be best to reblog it on both to hopefully help it reach more people.

I’ve seen a lot of posts on my dash tonight about users who are threatening suicide, with other Tumblr members posting in effort to try to get ahold of them. I think you all should see this:

IF THERE IS EVER A TUMBLR USER WHO HAS POSTED A GOOD-BYE MESSAGE, SUICIDE NOTE, VIDEO, OR ANYTHING OF THE SORT, PLEASE FOLLOW THIS POST.

1. Scroll to the top of your dashboard.

2. See the circular question mark icon at the top? It’s the third one over from your home symbol. Click on that, and a screen similar to the one in the picture will come up.

3. Where you can type in questions, the box with the magnifying glass at the top, type in the word “suicide.”

4. Click on the first link that shows up. It should say, “Pass the URL of the blog on to us.”

5. Type in the user’s URL and tell Tumblr admin that the user is contemplating suicide and has posted a message indicating that they are going through with it or will be attempting. Hit send! Tumblr administration will perform a number of actions to contact the user and take the necessary steps to prevent the suicide.

TUMBLR: THIS COULD SAVE A USER’S LIFE. PLEASE DO NOT IGNORE SUICIDE THREATS.

Reblog this to keep other users aware. Suicide isn’t a joke, and neither is someone’s life. If you didn’t know this, someone else may not, either. Pass it on.

I smile faintly. “Yeah. I was in a car accident. Nearly died.” I sigh. “I don’t talk about it much. Pretty traumatizing, you know?”

I walk over and sit. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, ma’am.” I smile, excited and nervous for the reading.

Ornella could tell that the girl was apprehensive; perhaps she had never had a reading before - perhaps she was unsure what her future would hold. 

She sat Starsy at the reading table, with the crystal ball between them and a deck of ornate cards at her side. “Now, simply relax my dear, and give me your hand.” Ornella held out her own slim hands, and took Starsy’s right hand in hers, palm-up as she pressed down gently on her fingers with one hand and traced the lines of her palm with one finger. 

Ornella was as psychic as the rest of the Galochios, and even though she new the buk of her craft lay in clairvoyance, palm reading was something she had picked up over her years of performing, and something she did well. 

There was a long pause as she looked at the lines of Starsy’s hand, and her painted lips set in a thin line. “My, my, my,” she tutted. “darling, I am so sorry… what troubles you’ve seen… a grave illness, perhaps? Or… an accident. Whatever it was, my dear,” she patted Starsy’s hand, “I am glad you’re still with us.”

[OOC] Hi there! I’m Mod Hannah! Yes, I share a name with character. She is my persona, after all! Anyways, I’m here to say a lil bit about myself and how I’m gonna be running this blog! I’m 18, use she/her pronouns (cis), am pansexual (or bi? Haven’t quite figured out which label I prefer), and am a huge dork. I’m in many fandoms, but my biggest ones are My Little Pony, and Psychonauts. I’m an artist, and I aim to be a professional one day! I am OC friendly, since... you know... OC blog. About Starsy

Name: Hannah “Starsy” Starshine

Age: ???

Species: Human/Magical Creature Hybrid

Personality: Kind hearted. Means well, but has a short temper and is anxious. She gets nervous in crowds, and tends to fidget. Around friends or people she knows and trusts, she gets louder, friendlier, and more playful. She cusses like a sailor, but restrains herself in public and around children. She has depression, and often makes jokes or nonchalant comments about it to cope. She’s also a huge dork.

Biography: Once a normal human, Hannah was born into a world without magic- it was plain and mundane. She always loved fantasy, magic, and fiction, and used it as an escape from her daily life. She always held the hope that somewhere, it was all real. Around the age of 15, she developed depression and anxiety. As she grew older, she became disillusioned with herself and the world. At age 19, she was in a car crash and was killed. After death, she expected there to only be eternal blackness, but she woke. Pain shot through her body, and something gently held her down until it faded away. When her vision focused, she something- or somepony- that shocked her.

She was face to face with Princess Luna. 

She had awoken in one of the worlds that she had so loved. Luna went on to explain that a goddess had decided to give her another chance at life in the realms that Hannah had known only as fiction. She was given magic, and an appearance that reflected her new life and power. She took on the last name “Starshine” to separate herself from her past. Now a defender of the multiverse, she must learn to harness her abilities and overcome to many obstacles that block her way.

I follow Mina to the little shop, and when we arrive, and go inside, I look around. The blues and golds are quite nice, if I’m being honest. A very nice little aesthetic for a psychic shop.

Everything looked old, and there was the faint scent of incense hanging in the air. Mina began setting the reading table, carefully placing a crystal ball on the pedestal in the middle of the table and retrieving a deck of cards as the stairs in the back of the room creaked; the family lived upstairs, and the first person in the parlor was an old woman - Mina’s nonna, her grandmother. 

This woman very much looked like a fortune teller, adorned in rings and glittering shawls. “Hello, darling!” She trilled, a thick Italian accent as she swept into the room. When she laid eyes on Starsy, she stopped, long eyelashes fluttering as she blinked in surprise at the feathered woman standing in the parlor. 

“Guillelmina, l'hai portata qui?”

“Si, nonna. She’s interested in a reading!” 

Mina’s grandmother paused for a long moment, looking at Starsy with wide, owlish eyes as though she were looking for some sort of answer. “Of course,” she said slowly, sweeping through the room to the reading table. She gestured to the seat across from her. “Sit, sit! Let nonna Ornella see into your future, hmm?”

Mina began to lead Starsy down the block, back to the dingy little psychic shop nestled into the buildings, a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it addition nestled in among stoops and signs. 

Truth be told, Mina didn’t exactly want to go back home just yet. She’d spent most of the day cooped up in the reading parlor, staring at a crystal ball until her eyes hurt. It was a vicious cycle that did nothing but give her a headache. She wanted so badly to be able to see something - anything - that she would grow frustrated, and that frustration would only make it harder to concentrate, which made it impossible to scry, so on and so forth until she was at her wits’ end. 

But she pushed the door open regardless, the chimes ringing through the little shop. The interior was decorated in blues and gold, bathed in the bright blue neon of the “Psychic Readings” sign sitting in the window. 

“Nonna? Pappa? I’m home! Someone’s here to see you!”

“You should! My family’s never wrong. We’ve been fortune tellers for generations. It’s sort of the family business.” 

As terrible as she was at it, she couldn’t deny her family’s inherent talent with fortune telling, foreseeing the future through their psychic powers. Maybe she was a dud, but the rest of the Galochios were once world-famous for their powers.

She didn’t like being a nomad, so to speak, but the Galochios didn’t have much of a choice, so she couldn’t blame her parents for it. They were trying their best, after all. 

“My great-grandfather and my grandmother run the shop, if you ever drop in.”

She neglected to add that they would probably be leaving soon. Better not to raise questions she didn’t have any good answers to. Moving was just a fact of life, like how the sun rises in the east. The sky is blue, the grass is green, the Galochios move every three months. Simple as that! 

“Do you live around here, too?”
