"Hello, Galacta."
The knight doesn't even spare the captain a look, focusing more on getting onto the table. Damned humans made their things far too large. Not to mention that he still feels unbearably heavy after the last few days.
For what it's worth, Peter is patient enough to push over a bowl of some sort of porridge instead of immediately questioning him. Peter had seen how much hunger had affected the batamon - 'a batamon' Peter thinks, 'what an odd name.' - whilst facing the Lonely, the time distortion not even enough to counteract it.
The porridge doesn't really taste like much of anything, but Galacta can't find it in himself to really care. With very little external sources of magical energy to draw on, and his own being dampened by the Lonely, he has to rely on food even moreso than before. Besides, it still is better than some rations he is used to.
When he finishes the bowl, Galacta sighs and pushes the bowl aside so he can sit and spread his wings out. At least they were no longer physically weighed down by the damp air, having quickly acclimated.
"How do you feel?" Peter asks, and Galacta looks at him under hooded eyes.
"Tired." The knight mutters, fighting the urge to rub at his eyes. "Heavy. Cold. Awful, pretty much."
Peter chuckles. "Well, you survived, didn't you? Better than most people can say ya know."
Galacta fails to find the humor in the statement, brows furrowing. If he weren't so affected by that... test, as Peter had put it... he would probably snap at the human. As it stands, though, he just shakes his head.
"I've survived isolation for thousands of years. Making it cold and wet doesn't make it any more difficult." That wasn't exactly true; yes, isolation in that crystal prison had been awful, chipping its way at Galacta's psyche. So much so that the loss of the strange voices he had encountered when freed had felt like an aching hole in his heart. But being able to move around in it, fully conscious and capable of comprehending just how much you are losing yourself... well.
"So you say..." Peter hums in thought. Quite frankly, Galacta's existence was still enough of an oddity to throw him for a loop. He prided himself on taking these things in stride, but still.
A visit to the Institute to do some investigating had yielded nothing useful; quite frankly, it had been annoying. Elias had been in a good mood, and prodding at Peter with a curiosity that wasn't unusual, but definitely off in a way that gave Peter the idea that he was hiding something. Something he, of course, had no intention of revealing until he felt it necessary to do so. Cocky bastard.
"I say it because it is true." Galacta says, the hint of anger snapping Peter out of his thoughts. Despite everything, the batamon still seemed to have quite the emotional fire, even if he is unaware of it. "I understand you have no reason to believe me, but considering I just went through your... Lonely, I think you can afford to give me the benefit of the doubt on that one."
"I suppose." Peter agrees. "You'll have to give me more details, though."
"Sure, when I'm dead." Galacta huffs, allowing his eyes to close.
"How about in exchange for information?" Peter suggests, getting Galacta to open one eye in interest. "I explained the Lonely to some extent, but there is a lot more you ought to know about it and the other fears."
"..." Galacta stares with the one open eye, scrutinizing the man. Unfortunately, reading his expression past the facial hair is a pain. "And why should I believe any of it is true?"
"My warnings about your test were true, weren't they?"
"Tch." Galacta closes his eye. "You withheld information on the experience."
Peter shakes his head. "There is no really describing it accurately, it has to be felt. Besides, you aren't like humans, or even animals. I couldn't even be certain of what you'd experience."
Peter did have a point. And Galacta was very much desperate for more information.
"Very well. But I want your information first. After I sleep."
Galacta doesn't wait for a response, climbing down from the table and headed to the cabin Peter had set aside for him. The captain watches him go, an amused glint in his eyes.

i want to hear 👀👀👀 it upsets me a ton when people treat nova like he’s evil hhhhghgh
I HAVE BEEN ENABLED.
OK SO. First of all, we don’t have any kind of indication of Nova’s moral leaning… in regular Super Star. HOWEVER, Super Star Ultra does give us an idea if you pay attention to Nova after Meta Knight makes his wish. Nova makes a very surprised expression, and one that I also wouldn’t say is a stretch to interpret as simultaneously worried. The latter point in particular is because of how you can see the white of his eyes, which generally represents a fear or concern sort of surprise vs just something unexpected. I mean look at him, if this doesn’t look like “are you sure? like really are you absolutely sure that’s what you want???” then I don’t know what does.
Tumblr media
This is contrary to what an evil being would most likely do; obviously if you’re an asshole you’d want to just sit back and watch this evidently entitled blue bitch get his ass handed to him on his silver platter of a mask. After all, assuming Nova is evil also assumes he acts of his own accord in some way, and considering his level of power, it’s not like he’d have to be worried about his own safety in that situation we’re that the case. Basically, he had literally no reason to react like that if he didn’t care about someone’s safety besides his own.
Now, my second point is a bit more vague due to not being supported by dialogue or visuals but instead just understanding/connecting dots. Nova is, obviously, a clockwork star, and it can be assumed all/most clockwork stars function similarly. The only other one we see in the games is Star Dream… aka the Access Ark, considering they’re separate, but Star Dream is the sentient part, hence me referring to them in this case. Star Dream doesn’t seem capable of acting on their own originally; not until they take Haltmann’s soul and begin acting on their own perception of what would grant his wish to give his company prosperity. Even then, though, they’re still seemingly “locked in” to trying to complete that wish, even though they’ve not only become sentient, but can recognize that it puts them directly at risk.
Now, we’ve seen that exact same thing play out with Nova, in that he was still trying to grant Marx’s wish even though Kirby was killing him from the inside. Once again, to say Nova is evil implies he is in control of his own actions; if that were the case and he was just threatening Popstar because he’s a jerk and intentionally interpreted the wish that way, why not stop and interpret it a different way? After all the entire basis of this kind of morality requires him putting his own mean-spirited spin on the wish being made, so it’s not like he wouldn’t already have been just finding a way to bend it. Obviously an all-powerful asshole would not be able to continue being like that if they can’t also act in self-preservation when things go wrong.
That leads into my third point; based on what we’ve seen of Nova, he is at the very least not just self-centered(as he showed concern), and he evidently isn’t acting based on his own decisions, but rather his programming or equivalent. The latter point makes it difficult to realistically make him out to be evil, seeing as we haven’t seen him do anything evil that was his own choice. That’d be like saying a gun is evil because it was used to shoot someone. Both of those points do lend themselves to the neutral spectrum very easily; he does what he’s told, and doesn’t question it. If you want to be boring this is where you can easily ignore his obvious reaction and go “he’s not sentient”, and if you do that you get the bonus of knowing you have greatly disappointed at least one person. Also tbh the same goes for the evil interpretation imo; there’s literally so many characters like that already, ‘jackass genies’ is literally a trope. Why not do something new and interesting?
On that note, the first point also allows the argument that he could be on the good spectrum(not chaotic tho) if you squint really hard and overthink his one moment of expressed emotion. It’s a pretty tragic concept that I am admittedly extremely biased towards for reasons, but what if Nova is good, yet can’t refuse to grant bad wishes even if he wants to? Sure, he can be used for good as well, but someone like him would most certainly meet many more selfish people in his time(such as a certain jester) than good folks. It’s a lot easier to wish for money or power than for peace or comfort. It’d be like being a pacifist sword, to be honest; sure, maybe one guy would use you to make watermelon slices for kids or something, but most people would use you to do harm, and you have no control over that.
I’m sure that would get exhausting… Might explain his eternally tired look. Just waiting for the next summoning and hoping whoever gathers the stars isn’t doing so for nefarious reasons, but having no say either way. Finally some guy shows up and seems the noble sort, and then he makes the most dangerous wish imaginable. Despite how he’s become so accustomed to disappointment that he doesn’t even react anymore, because yeah yeah ok planet dominator #5018 it would be my luck that I meet someone else like you this summoning, he doesn’t hide his shock. Like damn this guy might straight up have his face impaled by a lance in the next two minutes, he knows that right? But no matter what happens, Nova can’t do anything about it.
Anyways because I want to try and reel this in somewhat, my last tiny point is that Nova is never fought directly. Star Dream Soul OS(the Access Ark part) has a whole external battle, an internal one with the pillars, and then the heart also attacks you directly. Nova? Nothing. He’s got some separate internal defenses that he probably doesn’t control (patas, volms, and dacoogas), but other than that you literally just break all of this old man’s ribs and subsequently induce a heart attack and paralysis. Nova never attacks or directly fights back, and Kirby never fights him face-to-face. I personally interpret this as Nova using what little control he does have to make himself easier to stop, even at the cost of his own life, because he never wanted to do something evil in the first place.
Actually I just thought of one other potential point. It’s at least sorta implied Nova was the one used to seal Galacta Knight. If that’s the case, why would he have been trusted to do so if he twisted wishes in purposely bad ways? Like that’s just an obviously terrible idea. Sure let’s leave someone who enjoys the suffering of others to keep this dangerous guy locked up, I’m sure nothing bad could come of that. Famous last words right there.

{✮} In the midst of Galacta being stuck as Morpho and Meta being stuck in his lab trying to help him, the amount of hours that span Dark’s shifts at the helm have increased significantly. He knows it’s necessary to help out as much as he can, but with the clock striking well past midnight and the sky being darkened by surrounding clouds, it’s growing harder and harder to keep himself alert.
To either sides of him, at the radar and communications hubs, Trident and Javelin look to be fairing similarly. Trident is in the midst of her third energy drink, and Javelin is beginning to look like they need their charger again. Dark wants to encourage them that it won’t be much longer now, but with how tired the three of them are, he doubts his compliments would have much effect.
He just wishes Vul would hurry up and clock in with the next round of Meta-Knights so he could get what sleep he can before he has to wake up for another long shift...
{➾} ❝Hey,❞ Javelin’s voice fizzles to life on the right, as if they’re just waking up, ❝Someone boost our intercepting signals around, uh...’s one of those alternate universes to the left of us, I think.❞
{☾} ❝What for?❞ While Trident sounds awake, she certainly looks less than the part. ❝Who the fuck’s sendin’ transmissions at one in the morning?❞
{✮} Dark is unable to help yawning before he responds. ❝I bet it’s daytime for them. Someone just boost the signals, alright?❞
{➾} A few minutes of radio silence pass before Javelin successfully patches the transmission through. The preview for its message appears on the screen, displaying an audio file, but no name or identifying profile above it--only the sender’s universal coordinates. Considering that their run of the mill calls tend to be from citizens within their database, this comes as enough of a surprise to draw the attention of everyone on duty at the bridge.
❝How often do we get calls from ENV-76?❞
{☾} ❝First one I’ve seen,❞ Trident responds, setting her can down on the floor beside her and leaning in a little closer. ❝Dark, whaddya think?❞
{✮} ❝I think we should play it and see what they want. It’s gotta be important if they managed to get the transmission all the way out to us, right?❞
Dark’s ears swivel forward, primed to receive whatever awaits them on the other side of this audio file. Admittedly, he’s a little glad that something came up--if the night had continued on its uneventful course, he may have fallen asleep at the wheel.
{?} The audio is distorted at first, reminiscent of a voice scrambled by interdimensional interference, but a little tweaking on Javelin’s end heightens the clarity of the message.
“Please, a-anyone who’s listening, my sister’s gone missing! A-and it’s not just her--my whole village woke up this morning, and half of us were gone! We can’t find any leads on where the other Dees went! We’ll offer a cash reward to the first people that find our missing citizens, as much money as we have, we’ll give it to you. Just find them, we beg of you!”
The transmission cuts off there, leaving the entire bridge frozen in shock.
{✮} Dark had been expecting a break-in call, or perhaps a contract from someone rich enough to hire out their bounty hunter division, not...this. From what he can piece together, a village of Waddle Dees has just lost half their total population, and they haven’t even been left with any clues to identify what could have happened. For someone to relocate half of an entire village in one night...
{➾} ❝Hold on, there’s more of these coming through--❞ Javelin’s voice pierces the silence, as do the sounds of their fingers frantically typing on the holo-keyboard in front of them. ❝I’m putting them all on the display right now.❞
One by one, nearly identical audio file previews begin to appear on the glass screen covering the Halberd’s massive windshield, to the point where the reports begin to block out the sight of the sky itself. Their lengths differ, but their universal coordinates remain the same. With each one the appears, the dread in the room thickens, until each and every knight on duty is left completely awake and completely on edge.
{✮} ❝Oh my god,❞ he mutters under his breath, his grip on the wheel of the Halberd loosening, ❝Were these all sent at the same time?❞
{➾} ❝All within the last two hours for us, so it must be morning for them.❞ Javelin leans back in their seat, apparently hesitant to hit play on any more of the files.
{✮} Though it’s not their Dreamland, there’s clearly a Dreamland out there waking to a catastrophe with no evident resolution. He knows not if these transmissions have reached other protective forces, or if it’s just their ship that’s getting them, but Dark does know one thing: he needs to take action, and he needs to do so now.
❝I’m gonna go find Meta and Morpho. The ship’s on autopilot until then. While I’m gone, start listening to the other transmissions and see if they have anything useful,❞ he orders, letting go of the wheel and making for the bridge’s exit before he even confirms that his commands will be followed.
If there’s anyone who will know what to do about this, it’s his two senior captains...and if they’re too wrapped up in the mystery of Morpho’s predicament, then maybe they’ll at least have some advice for him so he can tackle this problem on his own.

Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo Switch.
Want to know what would be the best way for Nintendo to handle a Super Smash Bros. game for the Nintendo Switch?
At least in my opinion. I think this way is crafty, smart, and would ultimately deliver fantastic results and revenue.
We all know about the rumors of Super Smash Bros for 3DS/Wii U is getting a port over to the Switch. I believe it’s going to happen. I believe it will introduce some new content. I.E. Ice Climbers, Inklings, Spring Man/Ribbon Girl are added to the roster, and new stages/music/trophies. All that.
However...
I believe, and what I am hoping for, is that this will be THE Super Smash Bros. Game for the Switch, and that they will continue to add things to it over the entire life span of the Switch.
What I mean by this is that while it would essentially be a game that has been out for quite some time, this will be the definitive version.
Let me break it down. This game would include:
-All 3DS/Wii U stages (DLC included)
-All the music from 3DS/Wii U
-All the trophies from 3DS/Wii U
- All the characters (DLC included) + Ice Climbers, Inklings, and Spring Man/Ribbon Girl.
- Smash Run
- Basically, a combination of both the Wii U and 3DS version, in one.
BUT...since it is a port, and not a fully new game made from the ground up, it could/should include:
- More DLC characters (IE adding new characters every few months. Protagonist from Xenoblade Chronicles 2 to showcase/promote the game. Tethu from Ever Oasis to promote that game. Decidueye to have a Pokemon from Sun/Moon. Characters from new IP. Characters that placed high on the ballot, but didn’t win. More retro characters. More villians. Alm or Cecelia from FE: Shadows of Valentia. Assist trophy upgrades like Isabelle or Takamaru. 3rd Party collaborations like Monster Hunter or Sora from Kingdom Hearts *pipe dream*) The list goes on, and on, and on of characters they could add. This would be done over the course of YEARS. To promote games, and make this version of Smash the version that is Switch.
-More stages
-New music/trophies/ Mii costumes
-Slight visual enhancements.
Masahiro Sakurai has said numerous times that he is tired of making Smash games because they are so difficult and time consuming to make. This way, the game is technically already made, and they are just creating more content for it. Instead of making an entirely new game they are making characters and stages. Way less time consuming, way easier to accomplish.
All this considered... Adding ALL the content from both versions would make for a huge game, but the Switch is an incredibly powerful system. Look at Breath Of The Wild. That game is fucking gigantic.
Overall, if they were to do this, the characters I could see having a shot of being added are as follows:
1. Ice Climbers. People want them back. It feels like something is missing without them. 3DS limitations are no longer a problem.
2. Inklings. Splatoon was/is very popular for Nintendo. They are wanted, and would add uniqueness.
3. Spring Man/Ribbon Girl. Would promote a new game. They would add uniqueness. A long ranged melee fighter? Unheard of.
4. Decidueye. Pokemon is a popular Nintendo franchise. Sun and Moon did very well. Ash is set to have a Decidueye at some point in the anime. Before anyone says something about how the anime has nothing to do with which Pokemon are chosen. Bullshit. Jigglypuff was popular in the anime when she was added. Charizard was a fan favorite from the anime because Ash’s Charizard. Ash had a Greninja, and I know Sakurai saw Greninja beforehand, and that’s probably exactly how he knew Ash would have one. Ash has a Rowlet now, and will most likely have a Decidueye later.
5. A ballot character/highly requested character. Dixie, Ridley, Shovel Knight, etc.
6. Alm/Cecilia/Sharena/Alphonse/New Fire Emblem character. Sakurai loves Fire Emblem. Japan loves Fire Emblem. The west loves Fire Emblem. Fire Emblem. Alm or Cecilia to promote. Sharena or Alphonse for mobile representation. New protagonist from the new Fire Emblem Switch game to promote it.
7. A character(s) from a New IP(s) or sequels. Tethu, Elma, New Xenoblade protagonist, a character from a thusly unannounced new IP.
8. A retro character.
9. A third party character most likely being a Hunter from Monster Hunter, the Hero from the newest Dragon Quest, or a guest character in the vain of Snake or Cloud. (I am personally wishing for Sora, and that it’ll be announced that Kingdom Hearts III is coming to the Switch.)
10. A villain. Most likely in my eyes are Hades (Kid Icarus is Sakurai’s new baby.), or Galacta Knight (Kirby is Sakurai’s baby, and it’s Kirby’s 25th anniversary this year.) Disclaimer: Galacta Knight could have a completely unique moveset from Meta Knight regardless of similar body shape. Look it up.
11. Literally any character Sakurai has ever wanted to add, but didn’t have the time to/ felt like no one would get/ whatever. Takamaru. Isabelle. Chorus Kids/ Marshal/ Rhythm Heaven character. In the case of Assist trophies that already exist in game becoming new characters, they could exist together, or be written out as assist trophies, and changed into full fledged fighters.
The possibilities are endless. This way the game feels like a new Smash game without really being one, and we aren’t left waiting for a new Smash game for years, and right up unto the point of the end of the lifecycle of the Switch. If done this way, I could see anywhere between another 10-15 new characters being added, again, over the course of YEARS. YEARSSSSSSS. To keep the game alive. Making for a total of 68-73 characters at the end of it all. 71 seems good. 9 rows of 8 with a space for “Random” at the end. 13 new characters in all.
Of course new characters and new games/IP means new stages. I could also see, but less likely new items/assist trophies/PokeBall Pokemon being added into DLC.
TIME WILL TELL!

I don't know if you've answered something like this before, but when did you start to become attached to Lor and/or Nova? Is there a history behind it or did it just happen and kind of spiral. I love your stuff by the way, stay hydrated.
It’s kinda difficult to explain without delving into some personal stuff, but I’ll try to explain it as best I can. I can’t add a read more on mobile, so be warned this is going to be a long post. I’ll tag it as such. By long I mean I’m scrolling back up to add I’ve been typing for over half an hour. Might as well just call this half of my life story. Anyways...
Nova was the first of the two I developed a big interest in, hence why all my social media is named what it is. At first it was something I kept to myself because it was during a very difficult time in my life. To be frank, if it weren’t for me deciding to draw Nova one night, I probably wouldn’t be here. What started out as what I thought would be a temporary distraction turned into my first source of legitimate interest and motivation; I saw the drawing I made that night, what I thought would be my last contribution to the world, and thought, “Well this doesn’t look great. I can do better.”
And so I begun trying to do just that. Constantly drawing Nova, slowly letting the idea of him being just a mere distraction from the inevitable choice I thought I would make fade away. Because, for once, I actually had a solid interest, something to focus on that I could keep improving at and show others I was improving at. And when you start to improve at something, suddenly you feel a bit better about yourself.
In that journey of realizing I had more reason to live than I thought, I started getting attached to Nova as a character, and one I could relate to for a very long time. While most say Nova looks sleepy, I’ve always seen it as tired; not in the physical way, but in terms of emotions. Tired of waiting, of existing; lonely, too. I felt that.
I also connected strongly with the way Nova was always treated by the fandom, as I started interacting with it. Always in the background, overshadowed by others, and in general ignored; just like how I felt constantly. Everyone around me seemed to excel at something, or was popular and beloved, or otherwise was at least something. They were the Marxes, the Galacta Knights, the Dededes, Meta Knights, Kirbies.
I, on the other hand, was not. At best I was a collection of little somethings in a trench coat, stuff that didn’t matter but at least gave me some semblance of identity. I liked bugs, I liked video games, I liked going outside, things like that. A random assortment of different, miscellaneous parts, but no real idea what those parts made or what I was without them. Sound familiar?
Nova became a huge part of my identity in a matter of months. I lived and breathed Nova, I wrote bad Nova fanfic, I made doodles of Nova on possibly every paper assignment in school. I was, honestly, entirely obsessed.
That’s kinda when things started to change, some ways for the better, some for worse. Obviously, I had a massive level of interest in one specific random character that nobody else really shared. I talked about almost nothing but said interest, made content only of said interest.
People began getting annoyed, but I didn’t notice until it was too late. Suddenly people I was close to began to express dislike towards Nova because of me. Me, who identified in every way as something tied to Nova. People talked about me behind my back, vagued about me, and ultimately some made it abundantly clear that they didn’t respect me. Some of those people I still can’t avoid today.
That became another low point for me. My depression got bad again, as did my anxiety. Not quite as low as I was that fateful night, at least, but low enough for my self esteem to plummet to levels it still hasn’t reached again. That wasn’t helped by the fact that I constantly associated myself with a character that was lonely, depressed, and tired in general.
Eventually I had the unconscious realization that I had to find something else to split my focus with. For a little bit that was Star Dream, but ultimately it didn’t stick. I’m very close to someone who really likes Meta Knight, so I tried to fixate on him, too. That didn’t last either. Marx was a definite no, given past experiences with several Marx fans sending me hate and death threats for not liking him.
Eventually I realized the problem was that I didn’t relate to any of these characters in a meaningful way. There was nothing to latch onto for me. So, I went back to square one in having to figure out what my identity was, just minus Nova. Which was a lot harder than I’d like to admit. Seriously, even my favorite color was because of Nova.
My goal eventually became to find someone that had aspects of Nova that wouldn’t encourage me to identify as lonely and depressed at all times, who was strong and independent and likable and maybe even not a background character! Like... MAGOLOR!
And then I fell in love with his pretty boat instead.
But! All that gave me something to work with; Lor was, in essence, a blank slate; had the bare minimum qualifications to be considered a character. Kinda like how I felt I had the bare minimum things to qualify as a person. It became a case of doing exactly what I did with Nova, but with the goal of making her like someone completely different and unexpected. I slapped on random personality traits I had or had had and decided, hey, this works, I can trick myself into being a new person by pretending it’s a character! Which was in essence exactly my process with Nova, just in a conscious manner this time.
It was around this time I first figured out I was asexual, thanks to my oldest sister, and how perfect was it that both my old and new obsessions were machines? Bam, they’re ace too, so now I have a medium to explore what that really means for me. Same thing happened when I realized I was panromantic. This happened with a lot of stuff as I learned more about myself via treating myself as characters that needed a happy ending.
Nowadays I’ve managed to separate myself a bit, and made Nova and Lor more than just The Staples Of My Identity. It still hurts a lot when people are mean about them, especially when it comes to old trauma, but not as much as it used to. Nowadays they’re just my big faves/comfort characters, but they’re still extremely important to me either way.
If you got this far, thank you for taking the time to read through this, it means a lot to me.
