What kinds of names would the boys gravitate towards for their kids? Does that even make sense😭?

BUT the funny thing about all of them is theres a clear class divide even with their names? like sorry im abt to dig deeper than u asked but i find names to be so interesting how some go in and out of fashion but others (like john) are forever 😭

joh b and jj have some SOUTHERN ass names okay…john booker routledge and jj (whether you think its john james or jesse james…COUNTRY) are both technically double names and in the south those kinds of names are super common! normally the first name is something common or a family name and the second is more unique (hence booker) and john b was probably one one many johns which is why he became john b, and if u believe jj is also a john then well thats how you get jj but if u go with jesse james theory he goes by the shortened version bc its just simpler

and names like these are often associated with the lower class nowadays and theres also the fact that naming conventions in families tend to follow a pattern like my grandma has a traditionally southern double name, then she moved and over time her kids went from popular names (60s) to afrocentric names (70s) and then my mom with the most afrocentric name turned and named me something in swahili like theres a pattern!

so i think its likely for john b to name his son john with his own second/middle name much like his dad did with him or go with a relatively common but short name. nothing too outrageous. for a girl itd probably also be a pretty classic girls name, short and simple but i don’t think she’d have a double name at all

jj is a wildcard but i do think he’s be simple too? like i could see him going for relatively unisex names bc again if u think his name is jesse thats a p unisex name and i think hes a no fuss no frills namer bc hes also dirt poor from the cut like john b. i do think he’d hive at least one kid a double name as well and one of ems being named jj boy or girl i dont think he’d care. also has to be nicknameable because hes big on that edit: also meant to say of you go by jesse james theory hes prob naming a kid after a historical figure, the badder the better

pope is actually a very like…southern black name i dont know how to describe it in a way that makes sense to non black ppl but if ur black u cant tell me pope heyward doesnt sound like a toni morrison character 😭 theres this slight foreignness to it where its not traditionally a name but he couldnt be anything else i think he’d likely do a literary name tho! but none of the obvious ones because thats try hard, but it would also be slightly unusual like his because like i said in families the names tend to be one step up from the parents so boy or girl itll likely be one syllable, pretty short, not able to create a nickname for it because hes insistent on people knowing his kids name as is (another black thing)

rafe is most interesting because all of the camerons have very interesting names from a class standpoint. sarah and louisa (wheezie) are both traditional names with the latter being the oldest and more outdated even with the nickname wheezie, and rafe could be short for rafael it also could just be rafe but the exoticness of it is used to establish wealth, they can use older or more “ethnic” names to signify both their familys longevity because louisa is prob a relative and wealth because rafael gives “i travelled to Spain and met a local with that name i had to give it to my son.” so i think rafe would probably go for something either super traditional with a name from the family or “exotic” with a like italian or spanish name

My personal opinion on Bioshock ships:

Jack x Fontaine: no. Absolutely not. Please stay away from me

Jack x Atlas (where atlas is made as a "real" character): eh depends on how this standoff Atlas is written, personally dont care much abt it

Jack x Elizabeth: this just feels kinda forced, i mean they never even met

Elizabeth x Booker: the only people I've seen ship them are people who doesn't know or hasnt gone so far in the game to know that they're related, but if theres people who ship them whilst knowing that then....

Rosalind Lutece x Robert Lutece: I see them more as siblings, i dont feel like they have much interest in romance as they got more important stuff to do. If you ship them I really couldn't care less i just don't see it

Tennenbaum x Fontaine: theres no spark between them whatsoever

Delta x Sinclair: under different circumstances maybe, im not completely sure how i feel about them but they both deserved to go to that island together

im convinced joe cannot die.

fanon often whumps nicky to the high heavens and back and i got to wondering why him and not joe?

nicky’s obvious kindness and gentleness makes him an easy target for angst, sure, because if anyone hurts him you yourself wanna go after them let alone the characters. and i can definitely see a situation where both joe and andy are terrified of the idea of nicky dying.

that’s the thing. everyone is so worried about nicky that they don’t stop to consider joe. and that’s why i firmly believe everyone, characters included, simply refuse to consider him dying as a possibility. it just cannot happen.

joe would die on the inside if nicky died. he’d become colder, and at the same time more vulnerable. he’d be merciless and he’d drown in guilt. but if joe died, nicky wouldn’t be nicky. his calm, his warmth, his kindness, he’d shatter. joe fears nicky dying, but nicky refuses to believe joe would ever die before him.

it’d be the same for booker, andy and nile. they dread to think of a world without nicky, and they physically cannot imagine one without joe. he simply is. he’s a constant.

joe has always stood out to me. he seems to be the only member of the group with very open emotions; andy and booker have long since shut off their feelings and while nicky certainly deals more healthily he still doesn’t seem to be very expressive about them. joe on the other hand lets his emotions run free, immortality never steals his fire and it’d be something his teammates are drawn to. joe is still utterly, unmistakably, messily human in ways that some of them lost over the centuries. he loses his temper, he is unable to contain his love for his family, he jokes at inappropriate times. he uses his art, his words, his actions to express his emotions and without that things would be dark.

they all kept things from mortality. booker kept his family in the form of his grief. nicky kept his faith. joe kept his passion. losing joe would break them in a way nothing else could, because they’d be lost. he shows them how to keep going without losing even a fragment of themselves. he shows them how even after so long there is just so much life to experience, to feel.

it would be unexpected. it would be unbelievable. and suddenly it’s not joe wailing over nicky’s body whilst desperately trying to take his own life.

it’s nicky, trembling and stunned looking down at joe’s body, because this cannot happen.

nicky dying would be horrific. but joe just can’t.

okay let's dissect this part by part.

Kariselle exists because I work with characters, yes. I think the world around the characters can only be built when you have a grasp of what you want these two, three, four people to do with each other. It's the wrestling philosophy—I'm the booker of the show, and it's a sex show. I want the audience to see these two people fuck. These two really complement each other in some shape or form (character trait, like, for example, in To-Do List, Minju's naughty, and OC's corruptible and a bit of a pushover). Now, I have the complentary traits, and I can start selling the reason why they fuck: Is Minju exploring? Is she a known pervert? Is OC just a horndog? What does Minju want out of this? What does OC want out of this? Why do they have to fuck? I think this is an effective way to start a draft—knowing your characters first, and making a world around them.

For Sisterly Bonding, a threesome does not have to be complicated. You can actually just start with the sex scene, and sprinkle details in later. Writing does not have to be a linear process—this is something I need to learn myself too. You can absolutely just cut the story short, and sprinkle details of it into the smut instead. However, remember that Sisterly Bonding is Chapter 1 of a series, and not a standalone, so I do have wiggle room to spread my worldbuilding out, which results in what is posted.

For Tuesdays With You—I'm not familiar with that experience at all either. I'm absolutely shooting from the hip, but I've also tried to really make it as realistic as I can imagine or know through research. I'm pretty sure there's a girl out there who's read my work and went "this is bullshit" and left, but I don't think I'll ever know, unless they use this AMA to really tell me "haha ur shit" or something idk. I think I'm doing okay though, based on the comments on AO3.

this game is extremly fanartable for some reason??? (please don't ask me about the background i cannot explain it either, Im not a good backgrounder)

by accident i finished Infinite sooner than i expected, so here under the cut is my opinion/rant about this game, as someone who knows next to nothing about politics, racist stereotypes and all the problematic stuff the game tired to show. Just a really casual opinion, i just needed to write somewhere. Don't take it seriously if you want to read it please.

in advance: sorry for any mistakes, english is not my native language and im writing this straight from my heart so im not thinking about grammar rn

first thing: I reeeeally enjoyed this game, which after reading so many negative comments i did not expect. It has its flaws, but everything has flaws. Of course it isn't better than the first and second Bioshock, but i dont really consider it as a continuation of the first two games? Rather like a stand alone title. It's soooo entirely different, and as much as I prefer Rapture, Columbia is incredibely pretty and i had to stop every 10 seconds to take a screenshot.

Even though the story was... uh.... well, some plot holes were so wide i could fit my whole fist through them, but nevertheless it was overall, enjoyable. Im pretty sure, that even the creators got lost in that lore at some point, and im still cannot tell what exactly happend at the end...? I went crazy when i attempted to make a timeline of events. But the idea of tears and all that dimension travel was pretty interesting i think. Anyway. Plot twist was forced, and that Rapture cameo at the end was too, as much as i dont want to admit it (even though i almost pissed my pants from excitement when i saw my favourite city in its full glory again). Burial at Sea might add something to the story i guess, but from what i heard, it only adds existential dread to the fans of the series. I will see about that soon. Even if its really that bad, at least I will have a loooong snappies taking session with those georgous graphics hehe.

Also im really dissapointed in how both Comstock and Fitzroy get disappear forever 5 seconds after they appear in person, like come on, i hoped to see more of them than just some rambling over the radio (the voice acting was amazing though, as usual in Bioshock).

oh and also the boys of silence appeared for only one location? Their design is so cool! After watching the trailer I expected much more! The design was inspiring as hell.

oh also Skylines were the best thing that happened to this game imo. Amazing feeling.

and last but not least: characters! This time i did not really get attached to the characters as much as in the previous games. I liked Elizabeth and Booker, they are pretty solid, i think, and i would totally cosplay as any of them if i had someone to cosplay the other one with me. And the other characters? The Twins were really fun, Songbid was badass, and Daisy was cool too, before she appeared in person for 5 seconds. They all were not nearly as fun as the characters from the first game.

Whoever read this whole, I love you, but please do something better with your time. Stay safe guys, and remember to slap a bald head from time to time (it helps keeping your mental state well)

oh my god birthday party matty is my actual favourite, i love this :') maybe you've been on a little book tour that matty couldn't go to because the boys are recording the next album (god he'd be so upset about not being able to simp over you while you read and talk), and you had a lovely little (well, looooooong) reunion last night when you got home. it's a saturday morning, you've both got the whole weekend ahead of you, and as soon as you feel the morning sun on your face you stretch your arms out before rolling over, expecting to find matty lying next to you hogging the duvet; instead, you're met with nothing but rumpled, still-warm sheets. you're too sleepy to panic, so you're just mildly grumpy about the fact that you've awoken to a boyfriend-less bed, when your plans for the morning had been to cuddle him awake and then snuggle and maaaaaaaybe go for another round of sex (catching up on what you missed because of tour, yk?) before getting brunch somewhere. you go to freshen up in the en-suite, distracting yourself from your grumpiness in the hopes that it'll make matty reappear and give in to your itinerary faster lol - it does not, however, so you sigh and head back to bed, wrapping the duvet around yourself a bit petulantly and thinking about all the little kisses you're missing out on at this very minute. after maybe five minutes of that, you hear the front door open and the sound of paws scrambling over concrete, closely followed by the sound of quick footsteps and a "fucksake, mayhem, don't wake her up!"; you grin, despite yourself, sitting up and freeing your arms just in time for your dog to excitedly run into the room and onto the bed, an exasperated matty in quick succession. he's surprised to see you so chipper, scratching mayhem's head happily, and he says "oh, hi darlin'. thought you'd still be asleep, to be honest" - you're like "still on european time, i guess" and then you pout at matty like "where were you? i missed you. got sad when i woke up and you weren't next to me". matty pouts back like "i'm sorry, sweetheart, just wanted to surprise you with something nice for when you woke up. here you go", and he nudges mayhem out the way gently and passes you a takeaway coffee and brown paper bag; you peek inside to see an assortment of pastries, at which you gasp and say "oh, delicious", before looking up to see matty taking his shirt off and saying "even more delicious". he blushes and rolls his eyes at you, before he whistles for mayhem and says "that's your cue to leave, mate, your mum's getting flirty with me" - the dog obliges (after a final head pat from you), and then matty closes the door before quite literally launching himself onto the bed next to you and kissing your head. you're like (getting stuck into the croissants) "thank you for doing this, baby", and matty (grabbing a pain au chocolat) grins smugly like "just thought sweet things for the sweetest thing in my life was a good idea"; you wince and say "you know, sometimes i can't believe you've been nominated for multiple novellos" and giggle, which makes matty flick you on the stomach and say "god, you get nominated for one booker prize and now you're a writing snob. unbelievable". and that sets the two of you off into a fit of giggles as you finish breakfast - thankfully, they stop quickly, and you can get into the serious snuggling (and slow, sweet sex) that you initially planned. but yeah, it's all very sweet and very fluffy <3

The Inheritance Games - Jennifer Lynn Barnes

- It’s fun to read, im not usually fan of the weird romance but my librarian recommended it to me, i already guessed the plot twist within the first few pages (much to my librarians disappointment) but it’s honestly really good seeing how they put together the pieces! I think my favorite might be Nash, but thats just my cowboy interest talking.

Percy Jackson series - Rick Riordan

-I’ve been trying to read the entire Rick Riordanverse because i haven’t yet! It’s fun, a bit confusing at times trying to keep up with the characters (there seem to be more each book but i look forward to it) You can thank this Percy Jackson phase on Magnus chase and Frank Zhang. Im currently done with The Kane chronicles, Magnus Chase, and…the first Trials of Apollo book (they didn’t have the second one yet)

explanations:

the divinity’s cacophony universe (yes, my song “divinity’s cacophony” is for this) : agreza, alea, booker, echo, estella (main protagonist of this universe, basically), polyeidus (main antagonist but its also very complicated to explain how theyre the antagonist), and zima.

the deltarune ocs. pretty self explanatory. coraso, diamonte, and mace are my ocs for chapter 1. urlo is my oc for chapter 2.

the tron ocs. nyx, paros, phantom, and zenith are my tron ocs!! (ok ill admit i actually have like 11 or 12 other tron ocs but im not putting them all here cuz im . not ready to talk about those guys yet)

the mirrored universe: tyce and wren. wren is a guide, and tyce is literally just there, hanging out in the copy of the abandoned theater.
