The Cedric's Apprentice magazine arrived today!! 🥳🎉

What surprises me the most it's the price. 13 brazillian reais!! This magazine today would cost arount 20 reais or more. In USA 20 reais would be around 4 dollars, which looks cheap, but 20 reais is a lot 😳 inflation yay

I don't remember how much I paid for this today anymore. As far as I remember I think it was around, idk, 15 reais? I believe it's not that expensive because it's not a coveted product, people don't want to buy it, which is in a way a little sad.

This magazine seems used, since it's in a good quality but not as good as the previous ones (they are from another seller). Because of the label, I suppose that it was in a bookstore or a magazine stand in the past, so it makes sense about being a little damaged. You can see it's damage in the corner of the pages, and they seem a little crumpled, it's also visible in the pics that I took. Imagining this still circulating in a magazine stand 10 years ago makes me emotional somehow :( I guess it's because of nostalgia. I always asked my mom to buy me activity/coloring books and sticker albums when walking through these on the street and sometimes she did buy them for me. Now they're nowhere to be seen nowadays. They were my happiness years ago, I had tons of Disney Princesses coloring books and I had an Angelina Ballerina sticker album. I miss my childhood 😭

You know the rule that I mentioned about each magazine being about one specific episode? This one didn't worked like that. Disney you really do hate Cedric, huh? (One of his two illustrations has a paint damage in his eyes. DISNEY YOU REALLY HATE CEDRIC DON'T YOU?)

The episodes mentioned were Two To Tangu (and the comic was about that episode 😭😭 nooo I want a Cedric's Apprentice comic), Cedric's Apprentice, The Amulet And The Anthem, and for some reason Cinderella is there too but in a different context (Once Upon A Princess, kinda).

I wanted to post close ups from his art but Tumblr only supports 10 images per blog!

We have a board game that I may or may not play, but I will definitely take copies to cut, as I refuse to cut an out-of-line product. IT'S NOT PRODUCED ANYMORE!

We also had a view of some books in his bookshelf on the cover and a spell book in the board game that I have never seen in the show. The cover of this book is really cute, you have a good taste Cedric. It's a flying dragon.

Hello my lovelies, I just want to talk about one of the inspirations for Stanger Things (honestly I wouldn’t recommend watching it unless you are politically informed and can approach material that contains contradictions from it’s time (eg. Power imbalances with children, women, queer folk, BIPOC, neurodivergent/differently abled etc.), even still it was painful at times so I won’t mention which show just kind of share my thoughts and what it made me think about) .

I’m currently thinking about the PAINTING and how Eleven kind of isn’t in the painting and how this might cause a realtional rift. I can see Eleven kind of feeling not part of the group and goes to see Max or continues to miss her. Or maybe the recent leak with Eleven and Mike is Mike kind of apologising for not putting in more effort to make her feel apart of the team and kind of taking her away from group activities or maybe even Eleven apologising for this kind of action too?

I can also see Mike being the one to probably get through to Henry, who is someone who hates the world because it’s wrong but Mike will be able to synthesise Henry’s feelings (I think this will happen after my previous theory about time travelling) and find a solution or at least make something matter more than destroying it all/throwing the baby out with the bathwater. Maybe even to get him on the party… (if this confuses you because you think he is entirely evil please see some of my previous posts but essentially Henry (Vecna preburns) (following explanation will be SPOILERS FROM THE PLAY so skip to next paragraph if you don't want to hear this) as a child after moving to Hawkins noticed that something was off and was also sent to the upside down (similar to Will) and when he returned was possessed (similar to Will) although he was never purged of the Mind Flayer unlike Will… Mike was also the one to get through to Will… and Mike is the heart… and popular feminist theory highlights the need for heart, the need for feeling in overthrowing oppressive systems of non-consent. So SLAY.

Dustin will probably tame a dragon and then help the team <3 because Dustin

El and Dustin relations/interactions, I don’t even know this just as an idea would be so wholesome to meeeee

Steve and Mike and Will relations/interactions also I don’t even know where to start this would be so wholesome but like paralleling Robin coming out to Steve maybe or just Steve being already cool with queerness, just yay.

Lastly, I don’t think it’s going to end with them all being in separate romantic relationships but a strong interconnected bond of friendship or at the least their romantic relationships won’t alienate each other from being friends as a group.

Happy birthday!!! Yay I'm glad your voice is a little bit better but it's also funny to me that I have no idea what it even sounds like either..as many times as you've talked about it. It's one of the weird things about just talking online. For me, I get in the habit of just thinking everyone sounds like me haha jk. Also your crafty painting looks good! I admire your dedication to make so many bracelets since I'm not crafty at all..maybe that's something I could work on in the new year. Yes I want to see Company and I said possibly Mean Girls but I won't really know until it gets closer. Ooh I think seeing Spring Awakening would be so fun and cool!

So I can't remember if you're 26 or 27 today..but a fun fact is that Paramore has a song called 26 and Fall Out Boy also has a song called 27! I actually just became aware of the 27 one this year lol and have only heard it like twice but still! I also learned of a song called 24 this year by Switchfoot when Tyler Joseph of twenty one pilots covered it. So there are songs from 22 to 27 and I find that so cool. Right where you left me wasn't out when I turned 23..although I really could've used it back then and Nothing New but I had 23 by Jimmy Eat World which is one of the best most favorite songs ever! Also Blink 182...lol. And the pretty reckless, Taylor Momsen's band has a song called 25. But since we were just talking about Paramore and Fall Out Boy, I thought I would share! The only thing is..I'm not sure they even mention a lyric in the song..I think it's just the title. I hope you are liking their first album and the songs I recommended..but I'm glad you're going in order. Let me know what you think but also take your time! I'm sorry if the list of songs I recommended seemed overwhelming..I just love a lot of their songs.

So in a new quote Hayley Williams talked about how Taylor originally wanted her to sing on a different vault song and now I'm so curious which one it was. Possibly Electric Touch or I can See You. If it was I Can See You, that wouldve been awesome but I'm also happy with Castles Crumbling too. When we first heard I Can See You, my sister said the song fit Fall Out Boy more and he should have sang on that one instead of Electric Touch but the collabs are so good. I also suspected maybe it was Drama Queen cuz Hayley said she didn't connect to it or the sound that much..idk. but it makes me happy it was her choice cuz a lot of Paramore fans were complaining at first that Hayley didn't get to sing or show her vocals enough. I love their friendship and will be happy when they are back on tour together.

Wow it does seem like a lot of vinyls but think of it as a treat to yourself. I've never understood having a vinyl for one song though..I find that so interesting lol. You mostly have good taste and it seems like it makes you happy. Also..I like the new url and I'm definitely going to listen to the Fruitcake EP next week closer to Christmas! I did watch her new video though.

So I did not get a chance to watch the Eras movie yet but hopefully soon. But I did see the pics Taylor posted of her bday and I loved her outfit sooo much! She looked so good and really happy. Some people even have theories about TS11 based on the outfit but it also just felt like Midnights to me! However I'd love an album where she leaned into astrology or constellation stuff too. My sister loves stars so it could be really cool and I wonder what it would be like but it seems similar to Midnights too. I don't think this is as soon as other people think but I think it's fun to think about sometimes. Anyway I think today is also the day the CATS movie came out and I went to see it cuz I was soo excited my two worlds were colliding. Did you ever watch the movie..lol. I know some people were unhappy with it but I thought it was fine..I think people just don't get the musical, and it didn't really translate as a movie or onscreen at all. But I loved the musical with the costumes when I saw it last year and I like a lot of the songs. I'm pretty sure Today is also the day I watched La La Land for the first time too!!! Big day for my worlds colliding! I can't remember if you watched it..but that movie was literally made for me and loved up to my expectations! Now Taylor confirmed the choreographer from La La Land was recommended by Emma and she wanted something more theatrical for this tour..so I'm excited to pay attention to it more when I watch the movie! stuff like focusing on different dancers throughout will be interesting.

Omg I think I forgot to ask you your favorites on Folklore and Evermore! So please tell me and I will try to answer your question. I don't think my rankings have changed much, but I loved the rerecordings and it especially made me appreciate Speak Now more. For me, I don't spend a lot of time replaying full albums and her older music feels too nostalgic so I don't really hear it so I always put it last..sorry but that's the only reason. I guess I just prefer her newer stuff more. I think it would be Folklore, Rep, Red, Lover, Midnights, Evermore, Speak Now, 1989, Fearless, Debut. The middle was hard and I'm sure switch around a lot but I'm sure of my top 3 and bottom 3 I guess. What about you? thank you so much!! 🥺🥺 my voice is actually mostly back — except i was talking to my friend last night (one of my best friends came over with the blank space stabby cake and told me to go at it and stab, which was quite fun) and my voice got a little squeaky near the end! and isn't that so weird? i have a little made up voice for a lot of my internet friends, and it never matches with how they actually sound in real life! i love crafty time! i was thinking of tracking that in my new planner for next year (i'm terrible at habit tracking, which is something i want to be better at too)!

mean girls could be fun! i was supposed to see taylor louderman's last matinee, but then had to sell my ticket to a friend (i was ... hungover) and then missed it when it was in seattle on tour! i'm quite curious about the movie though.

i turn 26 today! which is quite horrifying! trying not to think too much about the birthday scaries! i started listening to some fall out boy too — i listened to the so much (for) stardust album twice, and i really liked it! i definitely need to listen to it more so i know the lyrics for the concert, but i'm really excited now especially since i know i like a lot of the songs! i will go listen to 26 by paramore in a bit 🤍 i was using "25 years old, oh how were you to know" from dancing with our hands tied and "i was 25 and afraid to go outside a millennial that baby-boomers like" from give yourself a try! you are totally fine! i was talking to a friend (who also loves paramore + FOB) about my quest to get into their music and how i usually listen to albums on my walks with toto! but we get distracted a lot (we usually run into neighbors and such) but it's been fun!

i could see hayley on either of those songs! and i do think (from my brief FOB knowledge) that patrick would also sound really good on i can see you! i think it's really interesting that the same thing happened with lana — fans were like "there's not a lot of them on here", and then it turned out to be their own choice!

i've been seeing a lot about the new theories and i'm definitely curious! andddd yes i did see the cats movie (at home) and i... am not a cats the musical fan haha. we actually have beef. my mom and i saw it on tour and someone broke into my mom's car during it and i have been like 😡 that's the show where my mom's car got broken into 😡 ever since. but the dancing/choreo in that show is beautiful, and i loved the taylor song for it! i did watch la la land! i was reading about the mandy moore interview yesterday and thought that was so cool!

ooh i think my favorites on folklore are: cardigan, mirrorball, this is me trying, and peace, and then on evermore: marjorie, right where you left me, cowboy like me, coney island and long story short! </33333 everyone's least favorite is always debut 😭 my top three are: debut, red, and speak now, and then i think folklore, fearless, and evermore, then lover, midnights, 1989, and then reputation. i'm not quite sure of the middle rankings but i am also confident in my top three and last three!

Casita, Isabela, and omg I have taken too many screenshots (aka I take this film again and go 'LOOK! LOOK AT THIS!!!!! :D')

So I am back on my nth rewatch of Encanto, and I am STILL picking up new details about the casita (which I always love). This time I'm looking at the towers of the casita.

I say towers; I'm talking about Bruno's tower, but also Isabela's and Pepa's rooms. Why am I counting theirs as well? Because they form three of the four corners of the house, and are also notably the only three rooms to be outwardly identifiable to their owners.

As you can see, three noticable rooms: Bruno's tower, Isabela's tower, and Pepa's room (notable by its weather vane).

Let's take a closer look at those back two.

SO, couple of things here, but let's start with Bruno's tower- it's covered in an abundance of ivy (I suspect either naturally, or not a concious choice of Isabela's). (the ivy is also a good indicator of the abandonment of Bruno's room, and the time that's passed etc etc etc). But under that ivy...

...there is a sundial, aka, a clock, which fits in with his whole see the future/hourglasses/time vibe. And speaking of hourglasses...

Look what's around the top of his tower! Lotsa little hourglass tiles/relief for the Madrigal with the future vision. I like it!

But he's not the only one who has symbols of their gift on their tower! Nope!

What's that we've got here? Raindrop patterns on Pepa's room? Yes please!

BUT!!! DID YOU NOTICE THE THUNDERCLOUDS AND LIGHTINING BOLTS AT THE TOP OF THE PATTERN TOO? BECAUSE I SURE AS HELL DID NOT WHEN I FIRST PICKED THIS UP AND THAT IS AWESOME.

(Also shoutout to whoever did the detailing on the wood close up here bc that is neat esp with peeling paint and all the patterning and texture and yay brain go happy brrrr)

Anyhoo,

This brings us onto Isabela's tower, and why I wanted to make this post in the first place:

Isabela's tower reflects her, and her arc.

At the start of the film, we see it pink as anything, covered (practically smothered) in flowers as Isabela is with her obligation to be perfect. I've seen a lot of people talk about how Isabela echos Abuela's dress colouring by being more purple/pink than the blue of her own side of the family, but most people don't notice that's exactly what's showing in her room. Take a closer look at the top of her tower and...

...it's blue. Under all those flowers, the mask she wears, it's always been the blue of her family. (also shoutout to the flower roundels on the wall there, and also the flower metal thing on the top as non-gift generated decorations of isabela's gift, completing the tower trio)

This blue part of her is barely visible until What else can I do? where it becomes more on display, and that part of her tower is also seen again at the end of the movie as the casita is rebuilt. A blank slate. But it's always been blue, right at the top, always there, just hidden, and that tugs at my heart no end.

(on a lighter note, I have to say there was no good screenshot for that last pic btw. I may have collapsed into a puddle of tears from laughing at the smear frames and omg Isabela WHY are you UPSIDE DOWN???!!)

If they do any further series/film etc, it'd be interesting to see what they do with further colour themes on her tower etc. And as always, I can't wait to see what other little details they have or will tuck away everywhere.

Also as a completely different note, I can't quite decide if that top bit of Isabela's tower stretches back further after the casita is rebuilt or not because no I am not looking for possible indications that Mirabel finally got a room of her own too and I know that Jared has said their are still spoilers/hints/secrets us fans haven't picked up on yet. It looks like it might, but there isn't enough detail to know 100 for certain.

Tbh I dont really know anything about colombian accents but now im curious!! I grew up hearing mexican Spanish frequently, even before I started formally learning it in school, so that's always what's most familiar and easiest to understand for me. That's really funny that so much shade is thrown at Chilean Spanish though LOL but also do you have a video you could link as an example? Quechua got mentioned in every single Spanish class but I don't think they ever showed us Chilean Spanish...maybe on purpose

Thank you for saying such nice things :') I didnt really do anything for Halloween since im still pretty anxious about covid but my roommate and I went on a nice hike and painted pumpkins while I tipsily showed her kpop videos (mostly svt) LOL the hike included crossing a creek several times and I definitely slipped and fell in a couple times and my roommate got a picture of one of them 😭

i don't remember who was it, but a dude that learned spanish in colombia and then came here thinking cool i can properly communicate! only to be faced with the sad reality of how we speak LMAO and oh man i'm trying to think of any videos, but the ones that come to my mind are memes and most of them are from people in the, oh man i hate saying it like this, but the lower class and they tend to speak worse too because ~classism~. but the podcast that my brother listens to, tomás va a morir, it's a pretty good example tbh

on a hikeee!!! that's so fun, and paiting pumpkins too! i've never done that since besides dressing up and now kids going trick or treating halloween has never been a huge thing here. also mood about showing friends kpop videos while tipsy have done it more times than i'm proud. and lmaooooo would they be a good friend if they don't take at least one pic of you tripping tbh, you're gonna look at it and remember it fondly hopefully :')

KAZUNARI'S BIRTHDAY

AUGUST 1, XX

"I just hope he likes this.." you said under your breath, finishing up your portrait of him. You stretched your arms upward as you straighten your back.

"Oh wow, it's already past noon, and my back is killing me! I have to sleep as I have a date to look forward to." and humming to yourself. You just washed your hands and plopped yourself to bed as you were painting for two (2) days. Getting the details is difficult and requires lots of layers to emphasize a portrait.

8:00 am

*ding* (1) text message

"Good morning, my sunshine! ~♪☆"

8:02 am

*ring* incoming call

You're still half asleep as you took your phone wondering who's calling so early in the morning

"hmm.. hello? who.. is this..?" you said in a raspy tone

"It's me.. don't tell me you forgot to set your alarm again? Usually, you're not like this... are you okay?" he asked in a concerned tone over the phone.

As soon as you heard Kazunari's voice, you became fully awake and rose immediately, answering:

"Oh, no! I'm so sorry, Kazunari! I-I'll prepare now! I'll see you in a bit!"

"Sure! No rush dear, take your time to prep! See you in a bit!" he excitingly said.

*ARTIST CAFE*

"Here we are! This is my first time going here since I asked my followers what cafe I should go to on a date." he smiled and opened the door for you.

"You first, my pretty lady~" he gestures like a butler but with a wink and you giggled at him as you enter.

"Wow, I am now in love with this cafe!" you exclaimed as you turn around slowly to see countless artworks posted on the walls, surrounding the primary entrance of the cafe.

"It has more of a vintage kinda vibe to it! ~ I can see historical ones up to modern style. I like it here too!" Kazunari added.

A cafe attendant approached the both of you and said, "Welcome to Artist cafe where you can stay here and paint all day until closing time! Do you perhaps have a reservation, dear guests?"

Kazunari hands over the reservation card to the Cafe attendant.

"As expected of our Communication Guy here~ plans ahead!" you whispered and nudge him at his side, and he winked as his response to you, "It is what I have been looking forward to, going out on a date with you!~"

You two spend the entire day at the cafe facing and making a portrait of each other like artists do in a class, except with snacks and beverages beside both of you this time.

"Oh~! nice painting (y/n)! ~ This is my first time seeing your artwork." he said as he studies it, "I love this! Can I keep it?"

"I'm not too confident on this one, I want to improve it though before I can give this to you.." you said and sighed.

"No no no, look at how the details you got here, here and here, and the shading, you got it all right! I love it!"

You nervously laugh inside your head as you have been making a portrait of him in secret at your studio during your free time.

"But let's trade," you said

"Anything coming from you~ yay memento from my (y/n)! Let's take a pic with our artworks, I'll post this on my Instablam! Say cheese!"

"Cheese!!" you smiled as you two held your artworks below your faces.

"I'll walk you home since it's getting dark." He said with a gentle tone as he looked at you.

"Thank you, Kazunari." you said and smiled at him.

You asked Kazunari to come over at your place in the meantime, as you have something to show to him. Unbeknownst to him, his birthday gift is waiting inside...

*At your mini studio*

Kazunari was astounded after you opened the door to your studio as countless artworks and work in progress are all over your studio, revealing to him another side of you. But there is one eye-catching artwork that stands with an easel in the center of the studio. He has been eyeing at your painting and stares at it for seconds now. You stood beside him, trying to break the silence by speaking first.

"Happy Birthday Kazunari! This is my birthday gift to you! I hope you like it." you gestured your hands at your artwork and smiled at him.

"I'm.. impressed! Wait, how did you get this? Where's your reference?"

"Aha.. that, I asked Omi some pictures he took of you. There were a ton, but I picked this out of all. I can feel that you are enjoying what you are doing there." as you said those words, you looked at your piece empathetically. He steps closer right in front of it and held it, brushing his fingers along with the same look, and you can't help but stare at him in awe.

"Your paintings feel so real! Like each of your paintings here has life in it. Somehow it pulls me in and I can't get my eyes off of them. I love all of your artworks, I love this portrait of mine..and.." he said in a serious tone and stops brushing his fingers at the portrait, "I love... you." as he said the last line, he looks at you solemnly and faces you. You thought to yourself, /Kazunari is not usually like this, he is like another person in front of me/. You back off instinctively, unable to respond because of how flustered and how bewildered you were to what Kazunari just said. He gently grabs you by the hand to stop you from backing off.

"I mean it.. I'm glad I met you and.. I love you. I want to know more about you." He reaches to brush your hair away from your face and cups your face in his hand as he leans closer. You were showing signs that you are nervous, but he assured you it will be fine as his lips are getting closer until both of you kissed. This is your first time being kissed and the euphoric feeling hits you all over your body, and as he parted his lips, he rested his palms on your waist, being wrapped up in the arms of Kazunari, you felt that his arms are warm, calming your throbbing heart instantly.

"These are the best birthday gifts ever" he said. You both smiled and giggled, standing together, holding each other closely with your foreheads touching.

I have been wanting to go there for years, even though I usually go to Qatar whenever there's a family vacation. So I'll let you guys know soon..? 👀
