6 & 22 <3
britt have you done a recent pfp change?? looks good! thanks for the ask!
6. episode of tv which defined the year for you?
this is a really hard one! rogue call, but i watched all of ted lasso in 2023, and i enjoyed it so much. even though i'm a lone star girlie, i think i have to be a little traitor about this and mention the football show i swore i would never like first. roy and jamie had some of the best arcs in that show, and every sam-centric ep just made my chest all squeezy. i'm chomping at the bit to start a rewatch.
in terms of tarlos, i really loved s 4 x 16 - i think i'd been hanging out for a tarlos scene like that for a long time, and it was kind of a sweet relief to get it. i think s 4 x 9 was the stand out ep of the season for me though - natacha really killed it.

22. favourite place i visited this year?
i already answered this one but no harm in answering again! i think mallorca, spain (but also granada, seville and cordoba).
thanks for the ask!
end of year asks her for my mental stability

Honestly I hate the First Gen filler of the anime. I'm pretty sure when those eps was directed the Simon arc hadn't got to the First's memory, that why it had so many plot holes - the most typical one must be Giotto's "My feeling for you didn't change" to Daemon aka he forgave his mist guardian for his betrayal while in Simon arc Daemon was still in full action. And Primo let Daemon kidnapped Tsuna's friend and kicked their ass for three eps, so definitely not left good impression to Tsuna.
hi nonny, thank you for the ask!
i honestly remember very little of this arc so i can't really say anything on it, but i'm thinking of rewatching it once i finish rereading the shimon arc as i already ended up rewatching the arco trials arc too, so i might as well. but i'm going to take your words for it nonny, and agree that once again, for sure it doesn't give much credibility to tsuna standing up for primo with the conviction he did like i said in that other ask, not in the shimon's eyes anyway, and in this case even takes credibility away from him. tho of course that arc isn't canon anyway so it's unfair to the shimon arc to judge it by taking it into account, but you know, if it was canon, or written while keeping canon in mind/with canon as its basis, then yeah, tsuna taking the defense of primo doesn't really work out.
but that aside, i'm actually all for giotto and daemon having the dynamic you described here! i feel like it'd make giotto a bit more like an actual character first, and not just that ideal, didn't-ever-do-anything-wrong and was-always-right mafia boss and mafioso figure put on a pedestal he is in canon. or even the ideal and perfect person he was made to be in canon.
it's like, if he knew about daemon's plans to betray him/the shimon, then not only he should have stopped his plans the way he did, but he should have also confronted him about them and punish him for them instead of letting him go scot-free and believe his plans succeeded. he should have also dealt with him to make sure he wouldn't do anything like that again before he retired, let alone to the shimon he swore an oath of eternal friendship with.
and what about all of their--souls? whatever-it-is being in the rings? and them being able to speak with each other and so, presumably, keep an eye on each other too? but all this time daemon was going around trying to turn vongola into something giotto never meant it to be, giotto just did nothing to stop him? turned a blind eye to it again?
and i know that for the shimon thing at least, the whole point of letting daemon believe his plan had succeeded was so he wouldn't try to harm the shimon again, but clearly that plan didn't survive the test of time. and anyway, even leaving that aside, there was definitely still room for giotto to do something about how daemon's ideals not only were diverging from the rest of theirs, but were in direct opposite to theirs. as his sky and boss, if not as one of his closest friends/as family.
and i'm not saying any of this in a bad way, just to be clear. like yeah, giotto didn't do any of those things, out of love for daemon, as his guardian, friend and family. out of his desire to keep him by his side, out of his repulsion to make each other enemies that'd need to fight each other. out of the belief and hope daemon would come to see the fault in his ways and ideals and they'd be able to find their way to each other again. (and probably out of guilt too the way i vaguely remember daemon’s backstory.) (< or so i can only assume anyway because i don't remember any of this lol.)
and him putting daemon and his love for him above the "greater good" so to speak, above the right thing to do and that he should have done is definitely not a good look on him, especially in the light of what we know it lead to, the shimon’s persecution and the fight between the shimon and vongola 10th gen, but it's all understandable. it humanizes him, makes him more relatable. it was a mistake that lead to a lot of pain that could have been avoided if he hadn't made it, but who’s never made mistakes like this out of love, you know? (and in fact, daemon doing all that he did was also out of a misguided love for elena, wasn’t it?)
so yeah, it doesn't put giotto in a good light, but it makes him a more layered, fleshed out and nuanced character, and i'm personally here for it.

there for you
summary: your best friend Bowen can’t help but draw some connections between you and your favorite show.
word count: 2k
warnings: heavy spoilers for New Girl. like, its basically the premise of the fic
note from the writer: here’s a link to a tweet with the scene im talking about in this fic, its from the episode “Oregon” (season 4 ep 16). shoutout to @bqstqnbruin for finding it for me
Tumblr media
Bowen had long since stopped asking to come over before showing up on your doorstep. Usually, he’d send a ‘are you home?’ text to make sure you were around, before heading to your apartment for whatever reason he had in mind.
The latest text had come in twenty minutes ago, so you knew he was going to show up soon.
Like clockwork, you heard a knock on your front door and Bowen greeting your roommates before your bedroom door opened. He was grinning, wide as ever, and you opened your arms for a hug from your position laying in bed, under the covers and in the middle of a New Girl marathon.
“Scoot over.” Bowen grins, barely giving you enough time to react before dropping on top of you, arms wrapped around your middle and his head nuzzled into the crook of your neck. You paused the show, not wanting to miss anything despite being on your third rewatch.
You wondered if he could feel how fast your heart was beating. If he knew just how much his touch affected you, how many feelings you were harboring from him.
“What’s up?” You asked, pushing away any thoughts about your massive crush on your best friend as you tried to get to the bottom of why he showed up out of the blue. It wasn’t the first time he had done so, but he always had a reason.
“I wanted to see you. Practice was rough.” He mumbled in the crook of your neck. Your heart skipped a beat at his words, how they fell past his lips so easily. Those words made you think that maybe your feelings weren’t so one sided, that there was a chance for you to be even happier than you already were with your best friend.
“You’re going to make me blush.” You teased, downplaying the fact that he really did manage to fluster you. Bowen snorted, squeezing you tightly once more instead of responding to your comment. An easy moment of silence passed, one that wasn’t stifling or awkward and it reminded you once more just how much you enjoyed being around Bowen. Subconsciously, one of your hands threaded through his hair. “I like it when your hair is longer like this.”
Your words were punctuated by a tug on his roots and though he didn’t say anything, he hummed contentedly. You worried that maybe he’d be able to hear the hammering of your heart or he’d know that the smile on your face wasn’t because of your platonic love for him. You feared that he would know—know how much you loved him and know that you had been hiding your feelings for so long. But you couldn’t let yourself think too much about that, you couldn’t let yourself overthink and ruin one of your closest friendships, so you tactfully changed the subject.
“Are we napping or watching my show?” You asked, though you had a pretty good idea what his answer would be.
“Nap, please.” He mumbled, and you could never deny him, especially when he was acting so sleepy and adorable, so you agreed easily. You both shifted your positions slightly, you trying to find the comfiest spot and him climbing under the covers with you, but eventually you both melted into your mattress, Bowen’s head still buried in the crook of your neck.
Bowen tried to stay awake a little longer; to tell you about his morning and the practice he had just come from that had drained his energy completely. But before long, his words were slurring together and when he stopped mid sentence, you knew he had fallen asleep with his arms wrapped around you and your fingers carding through his hair.
You tried to stay up too, to relish in the feeling of being in his arms. But you knew that pretending like it meant something more than it did was only going to break your heart more, so soon after he dozed off you closed your eyes and followed suit.
You were the first one to wake up, a combinatin of Bowen’s weight on you becoming slightly uncomfortable and the need to use the bathroom, so you did your best to climb out from underneath him without waking him. You thought you had made it out clear, but the moment your feet hit the floor Bowen was stirring from behind you.
“Where are you going?” He mumbled, causing you to halt your movements. It was far from the first time you had heard his gravelly voice just after he woke up, but it never failed to make your heart race. You swore you could listen to him talk forever, which was a good thing, since he never seemed to be able to stop talking.
“Bathroom. I’ll be right back.” You told him, finally standing to your feet. When you turned back around, Bowen was already watching you with tired eyes that made your heart clench. God, you were so gone for him.
You slipped out of the room without saying anything more, not trusting yourself to not blurt out just exactly how his smile made you feel. When you returned, he was sitting up against your headboard, your laptop open on his lap as he queued up the episode you had been watching before he arrived.
“New Girl again?” Bowen teased when he spotted you enter the room. You playfully rolled your eyes at him, climbing back into your spot beside him on the bed. You mirrored his position, though you dropped your head against his shoulder.
“It’s a good show. Plus, Jess and Nick’s relationship is my favorite.” You told him decidedly, like you had a dozen times before. The relationship between Jess and Nick truly was somehting you strived for—friends that were always in love with each other, no matter the problems that arised and even when they were broken up they did their best to keep the other happy.
“Fair enough.” He chuckled, shifting slightly so that his arm was around you and he could hold you closer to his side. “What episode are we on?”
“Oregon.” You started, knowing you’d have to catch him up on more than just the episode name. “Jess, Cece, and the guys go to Portland because Jess’ dad is getting married. Jess’ boyfriend, Ryan, was supposed to show up but since he lives in England he said it wouldn’t make sense for him to be there. So, Nick’s trying to make Jess feel better because he secretly loves her and I just need them to get back together.”
“Don’t they end up together though?” Bowen asks, trying to recall as much about the show as he could. It might not have been one of his personal favorites, but he knew you loved it, so that was enough for him to try and follow along.
“Yeah, but they aren’t right now.” You confirm. Before Bowen could ask anymore questions, you pressed play on your laptop and continued where you left off. Jess and the group had just arrived at her childhood home, only to find her mom ready to greet Ryan, who wasn’t there. The scene played on, with Nick telling Jess the hard truth that Ryan bailing wasn’t okay.
You could feel Bowen’s eyes on you as the scene changed to Nick comforting Jess in her room. Giggling at the Jordan Catalano joke, you tried your best to focus on the screen and not the piercing blue eyed gaze that seemed to be studying your face. And, like you always did when you got to this scene, you bit your lip to supress a grin as Nick delivered his next line.
“The only thing that matters is that the guy is there for you when you need him. Otherwise, you’re dating a wall.”
“Are you even paying attention, Bow? That’s like, my favorite line. What I wouldn’t give to have someone love me the way Nick loves Jess.” You sighed, settling further against Bowen as the episode continued on. He didn’t say anything in response, other than a quiet hum, but for the rest of the episode you could practically hear the gears turning inside his head as he turned his attention to the screen.
Netflix automatically continued on to the next episode, but as soon as the intro started Bowen’s hand shot out and paused the show. You looked at him curiously; the two of you usually got through at least a couple of episodes whenever you hung out like you were then.
“You know…” Bowen started, trailing off before he finished his thought. He wasn’t meeting your gaze, and it was clear that what he wanted to say was on the tip of his tongue so you stayed silent while he found his words. “I’m always there for you.”
You felt your heart stop beating and skip three beats all at once. You weren’t sure where he was going with his train of thought, but if you had to guess you would be getting your hopes up. Because there was absolutely no way that he felt the same for you that Nick does for Jess.
“Yeah, you are…” You breathed, trying to get him to meet your gaze but instead he stayed focused on your comforter pulled over both of your laps. The hand that wasn’t around your shoulders was toying with the fabric, and in a bid to calm him down enough to get him to say what he needed you slipped your hand into his. Bowen drew in a steadying breath and finally met your gaze, a dozen and one emotions swirling behind his eyes.
“I love you, you know.” He said firmly, like there was no question about it in the slightest and not the very words you had been dying to hear from him for years. You nodded, unable to form words but not wanting to leave him hanging.
You supposed you did know that he loved you. He showed it in his blatant affection and the frequent texts about how his life was going. He cared for you, there was no doubt about it, but you had never let yourself believe that he meant anything more than friendship. And now he was offereing everything you’d ever wanted on a silver platter.
“Bowen,” You started, but you couldn’t find the words to tell him just how much you loved him back. Instead, you moved the hand that wasn’t wrapped up in his to rest on Bowen’s jaw, turning his head just slightly so that you could press your lips to yours in a long awaited kiss that stole your breath.
Kissing Bowen felt so much better than what you imagined. The angle was a little odd and your neck was craned to face him, but you wouldn’t trade it for the world. You’d share a thousand more awkwardly positioned kisses if it meant you got to be with Bowen.
You were the first to pull away, but you didn’t move far, wide grins on both of your faces as you took in the events of the past few moments. Your friendship was definitely changed, and in place was a relationship that you had been hoping for.
“I love you, too.” You finally mumbled. You wanted to tell him how you had loved him from the moment you met, how he made you fall in love with him with each and every day, but for the moment all that mattered was he knew you loved him just the same as he loved you.
“I hope, or else this is going to be awkward.” He mumbled playfully, leaning in again to close the distance between the two of you. You couldn’t help but chuckle against him, your hand slipping from his jaw to curve around the back of his neck in order to deepen the kiss.
Bowen was the Nick to your Jess, and not a day went by that you weren’t greatful for him.

It's Emmerdale time!
I can already see where this is going but I doubt it will be Mandy that steals the money. I'm guessing Paul...
Paddy, never do that voice ever again!
Well now that I see Paul is in the ep, that's definitely what I'm going with.
That wasn't weird at all...
The Aaron and Liv banter was kind of nice and then Liv had to go all plot device once the weirdness was over between Aaron and Ben
I don't remember it going the way Ben said. I swore it was more like how Aaron said. I know I could rewatch it, but I really don't want to
Vinny and Liv are pretty adorable. And that Liv just casually dropped her problem with alcohol and Vinny didn't make a big thing about it, is definitely a thumbs up!
My god why does Danny look so put out by this whole thing?! I just want to go reblog everything that everyone said earlier today about this, because it's so fucking true!!!
Also I do appreciate the little moment of Aaron looking down where his ring should be
Aaron looks so miserable 😂😂😂
Honestly if someone that your interested in looks that miserable, why wouldn't you put an end to this session and just reschedule??? Unless you are set to torment the person (*hint hint* *wink wink*)
No, he stole from Sam and Lydia's jar
I don't blame Tom. Any good friend would try to stick up for them. But I'm really confused what Aaron thinks Ben told him. I didn't think he told Ben about G*rdon. He was vague about something that happened. But it felt like that was what Tom was indicating. Or I'm just thinking way too far into this. Either way its hard to get behind this sl if Aaron's just going to apologize (again) in tomorrow's ep. When really he shouldn’t be the one apologizing. And the same for earlier because Ben's version of events is not at all what I remembered.
Well I just completely missed that last scene, but I don't really care enough to go back 🤷🏼‍♀️
---------------------------------------------
I've noticed that these get way longer when Aaron isn't just some background character, lol. But I'm really doing my hardest to look at his story from a general viewer standpoint. Its just that I also think he deserves more than to throw him into a vanilla relationship on a soap. He needs something filled with more angst. And even though I'm setting myself up for failure, I keep hoping there is more to this!
I hope everyone has a great day!

do you have any favorite when a snail falls in love quotes?
I’M SO SORRY I TOOK FOREVER TO ANSWER THIS OMG but okay after a lot of thinking and a little bit of rewatching to refresh my memory on certain scenes, i think these are my fav snail quotes
tbh that entire conversation they have at the end in ep 21 before they make out and try to like eat each other’s faces
i talked about this in my why i love snail so much list but basically i just adore this scene because of how it acknowledges xu xu’s independence and agency as a female character and shows how she exists outside of the romantic relationship she has with ji bai. and in general it’s so fucking great because ji bai is the one acknowledging it and saying that she can live a wonderful life even without him but then xu xu replies that while she can live a life without him, she’d rather not because he makes her life brighter and they’re better together and just gah I LOVE THESE TWO DORKS SO MUCH)
“What does your intuition tell you?” “A psychologist doesn’t draw conclusions based on intuition.” “Xu Xu’s intuition.”
HE’S FINALLY OPENING UP TO HER AND TRUSTING HER ENOUGH TO TALK ABOUT HIS FEELINGS AND EMOTIONS INSTEAD OF KEEPING IT IN AND I SWORE MY HEART GREW 10 TIMES BIGGER DURING THAT ENTIRE SCENE
“From now on, you’ll be in charge of lighting my cigarettes.”
this makes me so happy because look at how much he trusts her to allow her to do something which imo is very personal and intimate as having the right to light his cigarettes for him??? like??? JI BAI YOUR FEELINGS ARE SHOWING
“Do you think I’m a burden to the team?” “Your master is here so you’ll never be a burden.”
looking back on this particular moment, i feel like this is when you can kinda pinpoint ji bai’s developing feelings for xu xu because he could have idk, talked about how the entire team is there and they have the situation under control or something like that but instead he only says ‘your master’ and not so subtly points out that he’ll always take care of her in the dangerous situations they could get into in their line of work
“Don’t be afraid, I’m here.” “I’m not scared when I’m with you.”
SHE TRUSTS HIM SO MUCH AND KNOWS THAT HE’LL ALWAYS BE DOING HIS BEST TO KEEP HER SAFE AND WOW MY HEART
“The real challenge detectives face isn’t a battle of the wits but life and death.” “Do you want to continue?” “Like you said, we have the same hobby.”
AND THEN JI BAI SMIRKS AND HE JUST LOOKS SO DAMN PROUD OF HER AND I’M !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
“She’s quite cute.” “Yeah I think so.”
basically ji bai misleading the soldier dude into thinking that xu xu is already his girlfriend when they literally haven’t even talked about their feelings for each other yet nor are they even close to being in a relatioship but like a;lsdkflsdj WHAT A DORK
“The Snail’s stay on earth will end soon. The Lion said, ”Don’t go, stay here. Stay with me.” This is the ending that the Snail wants.”
i just love this quote because it’s so cute and summarizes xu xu’s feelings up pretty well?? like their love is so simple and sweet and they’re happy just being in each other’s lives and also i have a good feeling that ‘don’t go, stay here. stay with me.’ was what ji bai whispered into xu xu’s ear when they see each other at the wedding again and BRUH THESE TWO MAKE MY HEART SO HAPPY I LOVE THEM SO MUCH A;SLDKJFS
EDIT: THANKS SO MUCH FOR THIS ASK BTW!! it warms my heart so much that you guys would even bother and are interested in asking me for my opinions and stuff on wasfil

June 18: Thoughts on 1x07 Contents Under Pressure
Finally continued my The 100 Season 1 rewatch yesterday. Wrote some notes:
It kind of looks like the Council is also the judicial system on the Ark, which honestly shouldn’t surprise me at all. Whatever hearings they do seem to take place in the Council chamber. I still think Marcus is basically the prosecutor or otherwise sort of in charge of the judicial function—Jaha is fine and still Chancellor but it’s Marcus reading out the summary of Abby’s case. She’s spared because her “medical expertise is still required” which fits with my theory about the Ark class hierarchy.
Raven identifies herself as from Mecha Station, so if I ever need to establish the canon nature of this fact, this is where it is, 1x07. Also, she identifies herself to Sinclair as if he didn’t already know her but that could just be because she doesn’t recognize his voice.
That moment when Abby hears Clarke’s voice was so lovely. Nothing in the second two seasons stirs my heart like small moments in the first two. Also when Jaha hears that Wells isn’t alive, fuck, that’s too sad. Get it away.
Apparently this is Miller’s first episode.
Also man I love storm episodes. Big weather events get me EVERY TIME.
They say at the beginning that Monty, Jasper, and Bellamy aren’t back yet—I know it’s been a while since I saw the last ep but weren’t they all in at the end of it? I remember Bellamy closing the gate and dramatically saying “there’s a storm coming.” And if you know there’s a storm coming, why would you wander the fuck off? Okay never mind, Bellamy went Grounder hunting. And this is also where Miller was introduced—his first scene is dragging in Lincoln.
Raven taking a drink of moonshine before sterilizing her hands and Clarke smiling fondly at her = why I ship (S1) Princess Mechanic.
OMG little doggy made out of nuts and bolts that is the most adorable thing. I miss the Ark aesthetic SO MUCH.
Honestly, that Clarke has assisted her mom in surgery, meaning she’s trained at least partly directly under Abby, makes me wonder how close they are/were. Like, a combination of them starting the show estranged and fan fiction too often painting Abby as a bitch or their relationship as strained has somewhat obscured what I think is canonically a strong bond between Abby and Clarke—not just because they’re mother and daughter, I mean they genuinely were close beyond even that.
The Bellamy, Miller, and Lincoln scene: First, it’s my headcanon that Lincoln was the spy on the camp the entire time, including back to the pilot (IDK who that actor was, I’m not saying it was Ricky Whittle, just that I think it was Lincoln-the-character in a lot of war paint and shadows), and that his reports might have been designed the whole time to keep Anya et. al. at bay, and also that he might have volunteered for the spying job because he was curious about the Sky People—and that fits with this scene. Second, when Bellamy says they’ve “lost” 10 people, I wonder if he’s counting exile Murphy. I hope so.
Bellamy sees a picture of a big furry creature and asks “What is that thing? Friend of yours?” which, first, haha Bellamy joke, and second, YEAH WTF IS IT? IT’S BEEN FOUR SEASONS WHAT IS IT?
Clarke’s grumpy cat get out of the way face = A+ more content like this please.
I love that Miller was introduced as a surly Bellamy minion and the whole time he was gay and only Jarod Joseph knew.
“In case you didn’t notice, his people are already killing us. How many more of our people have to die until you realize we’re fighting a war?” Interesting because actually most of those people didn’t die at Grounder hands at all. Two died when the dropship landed. Wells died because another delinquent killed him. Charlotte committed suicide. Murphy, if he’s being counted among the ten, was exiled after a series of events having nothing to do with Grounders. Trina and Pascal, who I’m pretty sure are already dead, died of acid fog, which is a Mt. Men weapon (I know Bellamy doesn’t know this but we do). And the other three were killed by Grounders, fair enough. Plus Jasper and Finn’s injuries. But still, ten Grounder deaths there were not. Also none of them were killed or injured at the dropship camp, which fits in with my theory that this was never a dispute about territory or a case of mean colonialists stealing native people’s land. The dropship camp doesn’t bother the Grounders at all.
There’s a little American flag at the memorial to the culling victims. Also, here we see the exact moment when Kane’s redemption arc begins. And a continuation of Jaha’s… I don’t want to say ‘redemption’ but like…transformation?
Okay, that’s ridiculous to say the people in the culling died for nothing—it wasn’t nothing because there aren’t enough life boats NOW there definitely weren’t 320 people ago. I mean I understand why the populace is angry but, haha, little do they know that between the Unity Day attack, the Exodus ship explosion, and all but 3 stations either exploding, crashing, or getting lost on the way to Earth, there are many more population-reduction events to come. Oh yeah and then radiation comes in a ridiculous overwrought wave and kills them all in a terrific shark-jumping explosion of silliness.
More Ark life details: “I swore an oath to protect and defend these people.” There’s something called “station representatives”—the same or different than Council members? Also they have a “mess hall.”
The dropship is three stories. Did I think it was two? Clarke has amazing boots.
The torture sequence makes me intensely uncomfortable, which is of course obviously the point. Again, nothing that the show’s done in the last two seasons accomplishes this. They just…try so hard to be constantly shocking and tense but it reads poorly to me, it reads like overcompensating for having nothing more to say.
I don’t get the station representatives thing. First, they’re not the council. Diana Sydney is one of them. And also there are, what, like a hundred of them? Why so many? What do they do? Is this like a primarily administrative job? An advocacy job? The Ark’s not that big, direct communication with the council doesn’t seem like it would be that hard. Are these also elected positions? How many does each station have, and how big is each station that they need, like, 10 reps per station? Some of them are pretty young, too; is this like an every-sub-group-has-an-advocate thing? Diana refers to her people as “the workers,” which I always assumed meant she was a rep for one of the worker-stations, like maybe Factory, but maybe it means she literally, specifically, represents “workers.”
I want a prequel that’s just like the political rivalry between Jaha and Diana. Actually, I want a refund on Season 4 and for it to be replaced by this prequel.
Say what you will about Octavia, but Bellarke’s torture plan was stupid as fuck—yes, it makes sense on the level of a preschooler (a very violent preschooler) but anyone with real cognitive skills should honestly be 10000% distrustful of any answer Lincoln did give because, like, why would he tell you the truth? If I were him, I’d get the torture to stop by pointing out the wrong vial. I mean he has literally nothing to lose; they’ll kill him but they would have done that anyway, and at least he takes one of their own down too.
That said, I feel like the more they made Octavia violent, over the seasons, and played up her ridiculously unrealistic amazing warrior skills or whatever, the more they ignored how smart and resourceful she used to be.
Abby didn’t “turn Jake in” though—he hadn’t done anything wrong, there was nothing to turn him in for. Like don’t get me wrong I love Jaha, but HE’S the one who floated his friend for a non-crime, so maybe he should take some of the blame for that.
I love Kane’s mom. Honestly, they used to have such good minor/side characters and they threw them away so willy-nilly and I thought, okay, I get it, we need casualties and there will be more good side characters but frankly there haven’t been. The quality of side character has declined precipitously. I literally cannot remember the last time a new character was introduced that I gave an honest shit about. After S2, there’s been like…no one on the sidelines who holds any interest for me. Probably because they’re all Grounders.
Finn’s using Raven’s jacket as a pillow, which reminds me of Jasper using Monty’s jacket as a blanket.
Finn’s basically just this totem Clarke and Raven pass back and forth. They’re both under the impression they literally need him to keep going (“he’s all I have;” “I can’t do this without you”) but like, really, what does he bring to the table? Certainly no literal skills, but not even that much by way of emotional support or devotion—especially not to Raven, obviously. And Clarke’s known him all of a week so the concept that she needs him for anything is like, I can see why she herself thinks that (in a normal situation she and Finn would be in a honeymoon phase, plus she just lost Wells so like I can see how she’d latch on to someone else in a pinch)—but it’s still laughable.
I’ve seen that shot of Bellamy and Clarke’s hands touching a million times but totally forgot they were handing off a torture weapon. And that their dialogue can basically be summarized as “deep sounding shit we tell ourselves to excuse our guilt for the reprehensible things we’ve just done that had literally no actual justification whatsoever.” I mean, I’m not judging per se, the show needs conflict and also they’re basically fetuses so they should be imperfect but still. How romantic.
My characterization of Clarke, most of the time, is so bad. I feel bad about this.
I’m trying to get a better sense of the delinquent camp but it’s difficult.
It looks like there are only 6 Council members, which semi-confuses me because it just seems like it would make sense to have one representative per station. I don’t think they’d give Prison Station a council member, but counting the Chancellor, that would still make 12. But then—do all stations have living quarters on them? I’ve been assuming yes but why should I assume that? Go-Sci very well might not—nope, never mind, that’s the only part left and I bet we’ll be seeing living quarters on it next year (by “we” I mean probably not “me” but you know). Anyway. How are the Council members elected then? At large? Also, post-culling, post-100, there are 2,237 people on the Ark. And Jaha says there are “only enough dropships to carry 700.”
