Everyone on this website talks about the choice to not have children to end the terrible cycle of familial abuse or whatever but I feel like nobody on here wants to talk about the more mundane and pressing reality of wanting children but being paralyzed by the understanding that bringing them into our current society inherently means traumatizing them in some small way simply because there are no good options.

Like. Dont want to put a child through public school because public school sucks, but homeschool is isolating and private school is not an option for ppl with no money. Dont want to raise a child with a forced gender but attempting to raise a child neutrally may socially isolate them or cause authorities to question your parenting methods. Don't want to raise a child in an isolated suburb where they have nowhere to travel independantly but affordable housing with ample room for families in city environments are basically nonexistent.

It can be hard not to feel judgemental of yourself for wanting to bring a child into the world at all under these conditions. Unlike with refusing to continue the "cursed bloodline" or whatever, there's just no personal pride one can take in deciding not to have kids because the world would force me to make choices that hurt them irregardless of my desires.

#and this isn't me saying i do or don't want kids but rather #these are my main worries with the possibility of having children #also i think this is a seperable issue from worrying about kids just getting hurt in the normal human way #i don't want to shield my future child from any possible negative experiences like #heartbreak and loss and things like that are very normal #but I'm talking institutional. im talking the little violences that made my actual abuse so easy to hide #and the systems that further traumatized me #the fact that id just have to put my potential child through them too just... sucks.

I feel like recently, ADHD has kind of become shorthand for “a person who is annoying online and has no real problems,” and I don’t really think that’s awesome news, given the context that ADHD has a long history of being disregarded as a made up disorder that’s just an excuse for poor/obnoxious behavior, no matter how much scientific research proves otherwise. ADHD is not by any means the only disorder that has people making a thousand misleading tiktoks about it, so perhaps do some critical thinking about why specifically ADHD has become the poster child for that behavior. There are certainly valid criticisms to be made of the way we discuss mental health online, but maybe use your brain and determine why this disorder in particular is the one that’s easiest to point at for being “annoying” and “not that big of a deal.”

Ichika used to dislike how Luka would ‘pick on her’ but now trusts Luka’s opinion whole-heartedly.

Kagamine Rin - The group's biggest critic. Even if they think they’re doing something correctly, or playing right, Rin would immediately criticise them, telling them they’re wrong and that they should be doing it like this. Her criticism helps bring Haruka back down to Earth but causes Mafuyu immense stress and panic. Rin also acts similar to a prefect so will tell them off for running or shouting (namely An).

MEIKO - Represents distance… again. And hesitancy. Specifically An and Ichika’s hesitancy to get close to people again due to their own abandonment issues. When the group were deciding on actually becoming a full band, MEIKO directly questions An and Ichika’s dedication.

Kagamine Len - Childish. Like Niigo Len, P|S Len represents Mafuyu’s inner child, a childhood she lost. He also represents being a good student and would stress when he doesn’t get something right but also has moments where ‘slacking off’ seems to make him happy. He can also represent the other’s childhood as he can be very starry eyed.

KAITO - Anger. Pure, unadulterated rage towards Mafumom, broken promises, liars, fakes, and the world.

#i'm 26 coming on 27 and not had my wisdom teeth pulled and every year that passes by the thought of it freaks me out #main reason is because they never gave me issues or pain and anytime i saw a dentist they said it's likely i don't need them pulled #but as i get older it's like. is this the year they're going to start giving me problems?? should i have just bit the bullet and got them #out when i was younger despite them not giving me issues?? which in itself is terrifying because #everyone i know who's got the procedure talks about how awful it is and how much pain you're in for weeks afterwards and it's like hhhhhh #i'd rather not go through that much pain if i don't have to yknow? but also *do* i know if i don't have to? what if by the time i find out i #need to get them out it's too late? i've heard the procedure is more risky if you do it at an older age (though dont know how true this is) #like i think about this an irrational amount despite my wisdom teeth not affecting my life at all :') #but yeah...sorry for bein anxious outta the blue here; i don't post here much but it's still in a lot of ways where im most comfy Rambling

is it an unpopular oppie (cute way of saying opinion) to think that stories with only 1 or 2 gender customisable LIs is kind of the way to go moving forward for choices 🧍

like the main issue ppl have been having seems to be the quality of the books n their subject matter, n the quantity of LIs won't fix that? back when it WAS the norm to have 3+ LIs per book every non-whiteman LI would get sidelined and treated like shit by the plot. at least now when the plot railroads you into spending more time w one LI u can choose their gender/appearance, and it's easier to split screentime equally between 2 LIs compared to for example 4

plus limiting it to less LIs allows the story more time to flesh out characters n ur relationships w them. it's easier to incoprorate LIs into the plot n make them important + impactful when there's less of them

OBVIOUSLY none of this is ideal and their whole business model is a bit garbáge, these are simply my thoughts !
