what I want to (re?)gain from reading all these tinglers.

Long ass personal ramble below because this is my blog where I ramble about things now

I used to draw all the time and even longer ago I used to write and at some point I just stopped because I got hung up on whether I was "good" at these things things or whether it was a waste of my time creating such "trivial" things rather than art with "meaning" or maybe of I should be spending my time on more "useful" skills. Why write if you're just going to write gay fanfiction? But when I tried more "serious" things to "develop my skills" and also do things like proofread and edit, it just wasn't fun anymore and the hobby was dropped. Drawing lasted longer and I never dropped it so completely but I think smartphones put a damper on it. Once we all got little Google machines in our pockets I was never just out somewhere doodling freely, there was always the option to look up a reference, to draw the thing Correctly, and then time would pass where I was trying to find a picture of a ram's horns at just the right angle, and my number at the DMV would be called or whatever else I was waiting for would demand my attention and I would never even set my pencil to paper in these moments when I used to doodle.

I also felt like I could never express sexual ideas as much as I wanted to because of the "quality" of my work. Making "bad" art was one thing, everyone in the learning process does that, but sharing "bad" sexual art? Well, everyone on the internet forums I frequented was *justified* in reposting their art to mock them and linking to their online galleries for passersby to point and laugh personally, I thought at the time. How dare they be horny and express it in an appropriate adults-only space without mastering their craft first!

There's a lot holding me back. I deeply miss drawing and writing. I miss how freely I used to be able to just do them without the mental block telling me I need to run certain steps for Quality when I never did intend to do these creative things as a profession or anything?

Why is it so easy to sit down and "waste time" playing a video game or scrolling the internet, but so hard to spend the same amount of time drawing something for fun?

here's where Chuck Tingle comes in. He is someone who just DOES IT. This is the writing of someone who is not overthinking the process like I am when I become too paralyzed to create. And, I cannot stress this enough. IT'S SO GOOD. I LOVE IT SO MUCH. So much fun, joyful art has come from a process that I had convinced myself was something to be reined in and feared. The free act of creation that I'd convinced myself was nothing if I didn't learn to refine it into something "respectable". Ideas that would definitely not have passed a committee vote but make the process of reading all these stories one after another so exciting.

Even when I hit the occasional one like today that doesn't hit well anymore, it's evidence of someone who was creating from the heart, in the moment. Weirdly, they make me feel that yearning even stronger, with the knowledge that I know I'll love future stories.

I still haven't gotten there yet but I hope the love I find in these stories eventually breaks down the mental walls I've built and makes me feel free again to DRAW SOME GODDAMN LESBIAN FURRIES.

I'd abandoned tumblr for about 4? 5? years 2016ish through 2020, had a short stint with it again in 2020, took peeks and vehemently disagreed with much of what I saw in 2021-2022, and grudgingly settled back in in 2023. I wasn't going to interact. I wasn't.

hi! since you sometimes post about reposters, thought i'd let you know that tumblr user stickynightchild is a reposter in the link click fandom! hopefully more people become aware and avoid that blog because i've seen their posts get reblogged a lot unfortunately

Hello, I'm not in the Link Click fandom but maybe some of my followers are, so be careful with this blog. Actually they are in the Blue Lock fandom too and I recognized indeed 2 arts coming from japanese artists who told me in the past they didn't allow repost on tumblr, so yeah that's pretty suspicious for sure. That and the fact they don't even bother to put a name but just the link...by experience, the artists often ask to write their name for credits.

Don't hesitate to contact artists if you can about their blog, they might want to report it for copyright infringement (and at least it could be good enough for them to know that their works appear there).

Hello! Since my art and designs seem to be getting more attention recently(??????) and stuff like this has come up a few times, I thought I'd lay down some ground rules about my art and characters.

Art Rules:

Generally if you want to use my art anywhere PLEASE ASK ME FIRST!!! I'll most likely say yes I just want to know about it. If you're reposting it on a different platform or sharing it on Discord or whatever I'd also appreciate if you could tell me what other people are saying about it or send me a link to the post. Also free to use as pfps or whatever as long as you ask first. and unless I say otherwise (there are some things I don't want my name attached to yknow) ALWAYS MAKE SURE TO CREDIT ME!!! ("genericdragon on Tumblr" will suffice). If it's art that I made specifically for you you're free to use it anywhere without asking just remember to credit me.

Please don't edit my art in any way, shape, or form, aside from maybe cutting out the background or whatever. (including drawing on top of it, changing colors, etc)

You're allowed to trace/heavily reference my art for practice (don't know why you'd want to tho) but DO NOT POST IT ANYWHERE OR USE IT FOR ANYTHING ELSE PLEASE.

Unless we're very close friends/mutuals do not expect free art from me. You can commission me on artistree or follow me on artfight (<- you are VERY likely to get free art this way.) I might do requests but only if it's something that I'd want to draw even if no one requested it. (no fetish baiting. I know it when I see it.)

Character rules:

If you want to use my exact humanization as your headcanon for that character or use them in your AU then be my guest! Again, just make sure to credit me for the design, and please tag me in anything you do with them :)

That being said, there are a few story related things that I'm not comfortable sharing with other AUs, but it's usually stuff that I don't post on Tumblr so you probably don't know abt it anyway. Just ask me if you're unsure. However I will also ask that you don't create an entirely new backstory for them if you're putting them in your own AU.

I can't stop you from taking inspiration from my designs but please don't just change a few things from my design and call it your own. They're not technically my original characters but I am still very attached to my humanizations and I'm not comfortable with them being modified like that. I'm glad that ppl like my designs but I don't want them to run too far away from me until they're not mine anymore yknow?

You are always always ALWAYS welcome to draw my character designs, especially when interacting with your own or other people's :) Tag me in any art you make of them!! I want to see it!!!

I made another post about it but self-shipping is allowed (as long as it's not a teenager who's way younger than you) just make sure to abide by the rest of these rules.

Please don't feel intimidated by me! Apparently some people think of me as a Big Scary Popular Artist and I have no idea where that impression came from but I'm not. Okay, let's talk about this. I personally do think that this post is not only a weird take, but also rude and disrespectful. let me dissect every part of their nonsense and share my thoughts in this

why are some tumblr writers becoming so fucking entitled?💀 like why are basically forcing people to reblog your work?

Let's look at these tumblr writers, shall we?

Most of us here have real life outside of this site and outside of fanfics. Some of us are struggling to finish school, college, some are even on their way to achieve their PhD titles and yet they still spare their precious time to sit down and write fanfics for free between writing down their thesis and studying for exams. Some others have 9 to 5 jobs, or maybe freelance jobs that don't have a steady working hours (meaning they could have been working 36 hours nonstop without sleep, aka just like me), while also dealing with a spouse or children to take care of in between jobs and they are still writing fanfics for YOU to read for free (ps. when I say YOU here doesn't mean I'm talking to you, sweet anon. I'm directing this to the OG poster and whoever is agreeing with their take)

I feel like looking at this alone, if a writer wants to be entitled to have their work promoted through reblogs, to be circulated around by their readers, and to have any kind of feedback, then they are allowed to. After all that hard work put on a free content, the many hours we spent and the lack of sleep we all get to finish a fic, whether it's 100 words or 100k words, the least a reader could do is show a bit of support or any form of appreciation

(I'm not saying that readers should treat us writers like Gods and celebs either, or for us to be placed on top of a pedestal, by the way. This is an entirely different kind of writers entitlement that I'd love to talk about in a different post, but this isn't the kind of 'entitlement' that's being talked about here, so...)

Why do writers ASK readers to reblog our fics?

Because tumblr's reblog system is the main reason why we chose to post our fics on Tumblr in the first place. Reblogging helps our post to be circulated around, while keeping our copyright safe/still belong to us instead of being reposted by others, and each time anyone finds our fic in their dash, these new people will be directed back to us without any reblogger/reader having to get into any amount of trouble of having to link you back to us or credit us (like reposters on wattpad barely do)

Likes and kudos may help boost our fics if it had been in any other platforms, but the same can't apply here on Tumblr. Because liking a post only helps YOU, a reader, to keep the post that you like to be 'bookmarked' on your 'liked' list. Not anyone will be able to see those liked posts unless you make them public or if these other people would spend more time perusing your blog

I personally don't mind if readers can only leave a like, even if I can't tell if it means you're actually loving the story or you're only bookmarking it to read later. At least, a like on my circulating fic indicates that you've seen my work and that's already enough for me. And I can also tell you that I, as many other writers, will always appreciate deeply those who take their time to at least leave a comment whether it's on reply or an ask if they can't help reblog the fic. Which means, if you can't reblog it, we can't really force you to do it, but we WILL love it if anyone do it

Talking about "Only likes will be blocked"

I have never once seen any of my writer friends saying this on their posts. Do I agree with this? No, not really. But I also don't agree when the OG poster said something about a writer adding this on their disclaimer because the writer thinks they have 'a power over other people's blog'. Like...this is another weird take.

Because for me, the only power that this disclaimer gives a writer is the power to curate their own blog and their audience.

I may not agree with a writer putting said disclaimer (especially when it leads to people clumping them with a bunch of us who don't think this is necessary to do) but I can't fault them by adding this disclaimer on their blog. Maybe this writer has a problem with silent readers or is fed up with the imbalance between likes and reblogs that don't do much in helping boost their fics?

We'll never know what's the reason behind this disclaimer but, I'm going to turn this one back around to the OG poster and their supporters and say, who are YOU to think you have the power to decide how a writer should be running their blog?

I've seen other writers doing things that I don't agree with, but it's their business and it's not my problem how they're handling their blog and their audience. If you can't agree with one writer's way in how they are running their blog, then perhaps you can turn away and support other writers instead? some of us don't bite and aren't rude to others. some don't even care what you do, as long as you're not stealing their work. some others don't have enough energy to do either one of the above and are only here to post fics and have fun (like me lol)

This one is the part that makes me smh the most. Let me ask you this, which one would hurt a fandom community more: when writers or content creators suddenly feel like they have enough of entitled readers and choose to stop posting, delete everything, leaving nothing behind for other people in the fandom community to enjoy, or a loss of followers?

Content enjoyers and readers come and go, we all know this, we've all experienced this, but not everyone is willing to spare their time to write or create content for other people to enjoy. Fandom community will keep growing. New audience will keep on coming. But if nobody is creating anything, what happens to the community? What is there to enjoy?

I agree with you, anon. I don't think this person knows anything about what kind of hard work goes behind a fic or a content. Because if they'd known even just a sliver of what goes behind the scene and how these contents they are enjoying here in this site came to be, they would have never said any crap on what a creator does in order to feel appreciated and supported by their audience

Updates and Announcements

Wow I haven't done one of these in a while so I think it might be best to do one, right?

First and foremost, welcome to the new followers! I haven't had a chance to welcome you guys in some time. But I appreciate you being here! I hope that whatever it was that helped you to decide that I was worth following continues to happen!

Lets talk about a few things. Remember when I said I was going to move all of my 18+ work over to an after dark page? Well that happened forever ago and I NEVER posted on it again. I made pretty banners and everything for my masterlist and nothing came from it. SO after thinking long and hard about it, I will be deleting that blog altogether and moving everything back over here.

But Dom, what about the Minors that follow you? You see, I thought about it. I thought about just deleting the few fics I have and just moving on, but that feels like a lot like book burning and I'd rather not. So while I can put up several warnings and tag the living crap out of that fic, I can't stop them from ignoring all that.

But to ease my conscious a bit, here are some tags that I'll be using for all things of age. #babies not included #18+ #Dom's trash If you are currently under age, I'd greatly appreciate you adding these to your filters! Thanks!

With that being said, fics like Business or Pleasure and What the Future Holds will be added to the Masterlist here. BoP was simply linked to the afterdark page and thankfully I don't have to repost that. Cause I would absolutely hate to lose all those notes. What the Future Holds will need to be reposted since I'll be deleting the blog it's currently attached to.

I'll be adding a legend to my masterlists. That way it's a little easier to figure out what's what before clicking on them. I used to do this in the very beginning but somehow managed to stop. So that will be starting back up again.

Let's talk fics, next! In case you haven't noticed, some fics have a '-discontinued-' notice right next to it. For the time being, I will NOT be completing those fics. Its not that I don't want to finish them-especially with some close to the end-its just i have no motivation to finish them. Maybe one day I will come back to them. ALSO! SEQUELS! Many requests and comments have been about sequels. Second parts don't always get the same attention as the first. I've been so grateful that Phantom has been getting as much interaction as it has been. But that's because of all of the interactions it had been getting. So what I'm getting at is that I won't be continuing a fic if the interaction is low on it. I'm always happy to make a second part of something, so long as its getting notes. So be sure to interact with your favorites if you want to see it get a second part to it.

Interest Posts will be happening at some point again. I of course want you guys to be enjoying the things I post. I know there has been some notice that I've fully been focusing on Phantom a lot more than anything else. It honestly goes back to the interaction it is getting that is fueling my writing muse for it. So again, be sure to interact with the fics you like.

Remember These Violent Delights? As much as I loved Adriana, she didn't seem to be accepted here on tumblr like I hoped she would and I had eventually taken down that series. So now I wanna give that series another shot as a reader insert. I've been working on it a bit behind the scenes and I hope that this fic will have a better comeback as a reader insert than an OC. Posting dates for that will come soon!

It was a mistake to mention your old online name to Raichi because now, he thought it would be a funny idea to look it up to see what little you used to post.

"NO NO NO-" You try to take your boyfriend's phone away before he can press the search button. But it's too late, he's already on your old blog and scrolls through ut.

"Oh come on!" He nudges your arm playfully, "I just want a peak!"

"Jingo no!" You start feeling embarrassed and try to take his phone away, but Raichi's grip on it is way too strong.

He starts scrolling through the posts you made years ago and reads each one he comes across. The ones he thinks are especially funny he even reads out loud, only making you feel more and more embarrassed.

Raichi is about to continue teasing you, but when he sees your face all flustered from embarrassment, he decides to put his phone away.

"Is it really that bad for you?" He raises an eyebrow and leans a bit closer to you. He intended this to be some fun teasing, not to genuinely make you feel embarrassed or even ashamed of your old posts.

But on the other side, he thinks you're cute when you're embarrassed. "Come on, you didn't post anything bad. Just some silly stuff." Raichi continues talking while he ruffles your hair.

You quickly turn your head away from him. "You still didn't have to make fun of me like that..."

"Make fun of you?" Raichi slowly realizes his teasing came across as much more than that. "I wasn't making fun of you but uh..." He's always been horrible at saying sorry, but his hugs and kisses are enough of an apology.

Your boyfriend wraps his arms around you quickly and starts placing kisses all over your face, causing you to giggle a lot. When he's done, he hands you his phone with one of his old accounts opened on it. "Go ahead, now you get to read my old cringe."

Hi, sorry if this is a stupid question but I couldn't find the answer anywhere on your blog. Are we allowed to use your gifs for making edits? Obviously, I'd give credit to you for the gifs and link back to your blog, but I wanted to make sure since I'd be editing the gifs and adding color effects, text, and stuff to them.

I'm totally okay with my gifs being edited/downloaded/etc. I'm even sort of okay in them being reposted (in the sense that I know it'll happen and I accept that).

Introduction

(Darnit, I'm laughing rn because this is how I'd start a book of mine on Wattpad- Speaking of which, I put a link to my Wattpad account at the end of the post.)

Hello to whoever might be reading this despite it being unlikely anyone cares just yet. You can call me whatever you want, you can make a nickname out of my username or the name I'm currently using, whatever you prefer. My age and gender aren't important because I prefer keeping my personal information private for my own safety. Also the only reason I'm writing this is because I don't wanna type a bunch of things in my bio and only discover when I'm done that there's a word limit-

Another thing I forgot to add when I first wrote this, on Tumblr, I follow people because I like their posts, or if they're a friend from Wattpad. On Wattpad, I only follow people I consider personal friends.

I kinda just used to repost my Wattpad stuff here on Tumblr so more people can find my work. I got bored of it though so now I barely log in, but I'm still active on Wattpad. My random things and updates regarding my profile and books are in my book called Book Of Randoms, whichever is the most recent one by the time you are seeing this. Random posts without context that you'll see in my blog are just snippets of the randomness that comes out of that book. My book titled "All about Clip!" is a book that separates my original characters from the rest of the chaos on my profile. It'll be full of it's own chaos at some point, and eventually the characters will get their own story. Here's a picture of my OC incase you're interested:

I woulda used the cover of the book, but I had to clear space on my phone and deleted the image. It's still saved on my ibisPaint app, but I'm too lazy to go download it. I'd rather just finish writing this post (it's 9:00 PM while I'm writing this 😅)

My actual fanfictions, well... That's a bit of a complicated predicament. I have 2 currently, the first one is called "My Inner Feelings", it's a human AU of Aphmau's My Inner Demons series. It was supposed to be centered around Noi growing up as a human, all my AU. But I stopped putting effort into it after spending months writing chapter 1 and just losing motivation. Eventually I published it just to see what people thought of it. I wouldn't call it a good fanfic. If you knew the full story that was going on in my head when I first started writing it, you'd probs either call the cops on me or cringe all the way back into your stomach. So the fanfic is discontinued, I refuse to continue it, unless anyone is willing to help.

The other fanfic is called "House Of Memories". It's also a My Inner Demons fanfic, and yes, it was inspired by the song House of memories by Panic! At The Disco, I was actually listening to it on loop while writing chapter 1. If you knew what was going through my head, you'd understand, I'm sure. It's a crossover fic between MID and my AU of the Aphmau SMP. Currently it's on hold because I'm rewriting it. If you check the current version out and don't like it, I can't say I blame you. But it's not discontinued permanently.

I also have an MID dares book, you're welcome to submit your dares anywhere I can find them, wether here or on Wattpad. It could be anything if you really want, but I originally planned on writing the dares book in a setting where Ava has a YouTube channel or smth and the people giving dares were commenters who didn't know better.

I used to have a Quotev account, but not anymore, so I moved my quiz to Wattpad. It's an MID quiz about which of the 5 daemos would adopt you if you were a child, I created this quiz in the middle of some random night last year when I was bored. I had a hard time figuring out how I'd do it, but I did. I'd appreciate if you tried it atleast once (and not leave after seeing less than 10 of the questions like most readers so far)

So yeah, most of my stuff is centered around MID 😂 and my main motivation is not finding a story or quiz with the base idea I'm looking for. Lastly, if you want to talk to me, please contact me by posting a message in my Wattpad conversation tab. I don't feel comfortable answering random DMs. And I don't know exactly how Tumblr works yet, I'm writing this post on my first day of having an account, but I wouldn't recommend that you look at my Wattpad content if you're younger than 13 or get offended easily. It seems fine now aside from excessive swearing, but things only get worse from there when it comes to story writing. The current chaos on my profile is kinda just the appetizer, I only have 12 followers there right now anyway. I know that probably sounds confusing but I'm not a Wattpader who holds back. If I have something to say, I won't say it here, but I'll say it there :)

Right so when I first started going to more gigs in about 2006, I started to keep a list of all the bands I’d seen so I didn’t forget - right from the very first concert I ever attended, which was Mel C in 2000.

I’ve somehow managed to keep this relatively updated over the years, through old diaries and the fact that I keep all my concert tickets (which I keep in photo albums!) HOWEVER, some tickets go missing/get taken away, and I can’t always remember all the support acts, but this is a *pretty* accurate list of the bands I’ve seen, for anyone who’s interested.

This includes festival appearances and support bands (though not all support bands - only bands I’ve actually paid attention to.) 

I’m not convinced some of the numbers are 100% correct because it’s hard to keep track when you’ve been seeing certain bands live for so long!!!

Hi--I'd like to ask, to what extend do you allow uploading of your fanart on other community platforms? Specifically, reposting without mention or link or permission, editing or cropping? I cant find any preferences on your website or maybe I'm clicking on thr wrong post. (Need to verify some uploaded fanart on a bts community) thanks

Hey I’ve never really thought of putting up guidelines because I thought it would go without saying that I would want people to reblog and NOT upload it to their blog. Especially without mention of me.

I know I have had people take my work on Instagram but, seeing as you can’t reblog there I don’t mind as long I am mentioned in the description.

But thank you for bringing it up and I think I will make a FAQ post soon about stuff like that :)
