Hey Goldy! How are you? This is just super random, but someone shared a clip of Rosebowl Jikook, and can I just say how surreal it still feels that it actually happened? People were scrambling to explain that it was completely platonic, that it was an edit, that JK didn't suck JM's ear, that it was completely normal 🙄

I've heard about a certain clip where you could see a string of saliva, and yes, I saw it. Apparently, the big screen during the concert show you front and center when that happened and how you could literally see the string of saliva from JK's mouth to JM's ear. You could even see the sucking movement.

Imagine if Jikook have partners? Imagine seeing that and being okay w/ it?? And mind you, he did after towards the end of the concert, when they're sweaty and all.

People left and right, 24/7 camping on Jikook accounts writing long-ass essays and novels to say Jikook hate each other or whatever. You don't see us camping out on say tkk/yoonmin accounts to prove they're not real, don't you? I mean, sure, we correct misinformation when you're posting lies or manipulated clips for your non-existent ships (tkk/yoonmin/etc).

Even the companion system in the military still haunts these people until now. Suddenly, everyone is a fucking expert on Korean military?? If it was any other ship, I'm pretty sure we won't be hearing a thesis on why they're not together right now, how they're doing their things away from each other? Like, what happened to critical thinking and common sense? You'd think if Jimin and Jungkook didn't want to do their enlistment together, they wouldn't go through those damn hoops, including selecting the harshest division. They'd just do what everyone else did 😩

Do you think these uncultured and unloved people (haters/antis/toxic solos/tkkrs etc) would lose their mind even more once the Jikook travel show drops? Hope it drops this June 😭

If Jikook have partners they are the most non territorial non concerned non bothered group of people on the planet cos of if Jimin or Jungkook were mine I would have them quit their careers 😩

A/N: This is it, my first male!reader fic. I hope you like it, I know it took me a while but it was mostly due to my exams😭.

You watched in awe as your girlfriend put on a performance of a lifetime, singing and dancing like there’s no tomorrow. That’s how she always performed but you always felt just as awestruck as the first time you watched her perform. You whooped and applauded with the crowd and a few songs later, the show was done. It was quite short by a Kpop concert standard but you preferred it this way. So you could spend some time after the show with her as well since she wouldn’t be too tired.

You had a nice dinner reservation and wanted to treat her. Usually, Yuqi liked to treat you and besides its not exactly easy to make a dinner date a big surprise or special when your partner is a superstar but you try your best and being the sweet girl she is, she always seems over the moon even over the smallest of things you do for her.

Nevertheless, you meet her backstage where she is already ready to go and greets you with a hug.

“Did you like the-”, she begins but you’ve memorized her questions through previous experiences.

“Yes it was amazing. Yes you looked really pretty and hot. No, I didn’t look at any other girls. And yes I have something planned for us.”, you interrupt her with small smilie, answering all the questions she was going to ask before she even had a chance to ask them.

She looked at you blankly for a few seconds before pouting but ended up almost immediately laughing and giving you a gentle push, “so annoying”.

You chuckled, “Come on let’s go, we don’t wanna be late.”

It didn’t take too long to reach the restaurant, about 20 minutes, you both were discussing the concert and seeing some of the clips people had posted online. Dinner wasn’t too fancy but you both liked it regardless and soon after you reached home.

The two of you on the couch, Yuqi resting her head on your shoulder, she traced imaginary lines on your chest and you both cuddled for a while in silence, just enjoying each other’s company. Then out of nowhere, she kissed you once. And then again. Pulling back after a few seconds and staring at you longingly. You felt your heartbeat quicken and leaned in slowly and she did the same.

As you both leaned in and began to kiss, it quickly turned into a full on make out session and pretty soon Yuqi was tugging on your clothes trying to take them off. You did the same and pretty soon, well not exactly soon. It took a few minutes for you both to be exposed because neither of you were willing to stop kissing to undress. Only after excessive tugging at each others clothes did you two eventually give in for a few moments.

Soon after, you found yourself on your back with Yuqi on top of you, her hands on your chest, breathing heavily, riding you slowly. You placed your hands at her hips and watched as she gracefully began to ride you.

This continued for a few minutes before Yuqi removed your hands from her hips and instead pinned them to either side of your head and leaned in kissing you hungrily while also grinding sensually.

The two of you just couldn’t get enough of each other, staring at each other with love, lust, longing and kissing every few moments. A few minutes later, you both felt your releases approaching rapidly.

“Yuqi….”, you say sighing, letting her know your close.

She said nothing and grabbing your face with both hands and kissing you passionately while you wrapped your hands around her back as she began to grind faster. You couldn’t help yourself either, your hips buckling as you began to thrust upwards as well, trying to be in rhythm with her movements.

Soon after, you felt the pressure build up and eventually got your release, sighing hard into a kiss while Yuqi squeezed your face tightly, shuddering slightly while she got hers.

The two of you stayed like that for a few moments while your highs slowly faded. Taking a deep breath, Yuqi shifted and moved to the side, resting her head on your chest, an arm wrapped around you.

You take a deep breath and sigh, trying to relax when suddenly Yuqi grabs your hand and tries drag you up.

“Give me a minute”, you try to protest feeling comfortable and sleepy.

“Ah hah!”, she frowns, “No, you’ll sleep. Come with me!”.

“I just did”, you say cheekily, your eyes closed.

“Fine, do as you like, I’m going to shower so your loss”, she replies back triumphantly, knowing you’ll give in.

You kiss your teeth and groan loudly while stretching knowing you can’t miss this chance and get up in one swift move, following Yuqi with your hands on her shoulders,leaning your head at the back of hers.

As you both enter the shower, the next dilemma starts, you like cold showers but didn’t want one right now because of how sleepy you were feeling while Yuqi likes hot showers but wanted to take a cold one because she wanted you to stay awake so you both could cuddle.

Both of you understood each other’s intentions almost immediately and reached for the shower valve together.

“It’s okay, I got it Yuqi”, you say unconvincingly with a smile.

“What are you talking about?”, Yuqi says mischievously.

Neither of you budges, and you both just smile at each other until you decide to take a risk. You let go of the valve and without warning begin to tickle Yuqi who couldn’t react quick enough and moved back helplessly reflexively.

“Hey! Stop! This isn’t fair!”, she squealed, laughing uncontrollably.

It was too late though, you were now in front of her, blocking her access to the valve, smiling victoriously at her while she pouted.

You set the temperature as lukewarm hoping it’s a good enough compromise and you both begin showering, washing each other. Once your done showering, you dry yourself off and go to bed while Yuqi dries herself off and does her self care routine before she comes to bed. You try to wait for her but end up dozing off before she comes.

You wake up hours later to find Yuqi is still missing. You turn towards her side of the bed and find it a bit warm so she only woke up recently you assume. You stretch and get up, brushing and going to the kitchen.

You find her in one of your shirts, obviously it was too big for her and she really looked unbelievably cute in it. She was making some eggs as you walked in behind her, hugging her and kissing her cheek for a moment before pulling back.

She leaned in happily before continuing cooking and finishing the eggs while you began to toast the bread. In a couple of minutes you both were at the table having breakfast in silence, giving each other knowing looks and smiling happily, your hand on hers.

like he just won't stop waiting by the phone for you to text him. Anytime anyone's phone goes off, matty is jumping to his phone to check if it's you. Time difference makes it difficult, but you facetime and text as much as humanly possible.

even just little updates throughout the day, "the staff room had run out of tea bags. call the police." or "I know I shouldn't say this about a student, but ohmygod, timmy o'donnel might be the dumbest kid I've ever worked with. he'd 6, and he STILL spells his name with just one m. HOW!??!?"

sometimes, matty can't respond straight away (much to his disappointment), but when he gets back from sound check to see a text from you? my man is SWOONING. the boys all make fun of him for how giddy he gets, "dude you're like a teenage girl in a movie kicking her legs in bed and twirling the chord around her finger" "shut up"

It's not term time (do other countries call it that? like school time?? idk), so Annie is with Matty, but you're still in work on staff training days. the most boring days according to you

"I mean kids are hard work, but so is having to sit in a room with Mr. Smith for 5 hours as he tries to flirt with me" (needless to say, Matty is NOT a fan of Mr. Smith after this comment, but you assure him that no one could ever get you away from him, and you then tease him about the pink dusting on his cheeks when he hears that)

so one day, when Matty doesn't get a good morning text from you, his heart breaks a little, but he figured you had just woken up late and forgotten. but then lunch rolls around, and usually you Facetime and chat while you're on break, but still, radio silence.

he's worried, are you mad at him? Did he say something wrong? he messages asking if you're okay, but 5 minutes before he's due on stage, there's still no response. To say he's sad is an understatement. Everyone knows to give him a little space today because he is out of sorts.

but also, they know you're coming. you managed to convince your boss that you're sick (think mean girls "*cough cough" I'm sick") and sneak away to come to the Paris show. You had told the boys your plan, expecting some pushback or judgment. But, you got a unanimous "thank god" message because if they had to deal with matty missing you for one more day, they'd fly you out themselves.

you meet Mark outside, and he gets you in and has a spot at the front of the pit waiting for you. you are buzzing to see Matty, and you can't wait until he notices you in the crowd. You're wearing merch that you stole from his drawer, so you're hoping that will catch his eye.

matty gets on stage and distracts himself from thinking of you the whole show. The crowd is crazy tonight, and it's giving him the energy he needs. you're on Ross' side, and he clocks you immediately, waiting until Matty isn't looking when he waves at you sneakily.

the girls around you scream and swoon because who wouldn't when Ross waves at them? you giggle and wave back, but your eyes are immediately drawn back to Matty.

ever since that first concert, your eyes have been drawn to Matty, and seeing them live means so much more to you after that show. seeing it just brings you back to the night of your first kiss (working on this fic btw) and you feel giddy at the sight of him all smiley and dancey.

the good crowd and the sight of annie dancing around at the side of the stage keep matty pretty distracted, so for a good few songs, he doesn't notice you. but when he finally does? it's obviously to everyone in that room that he is looking at something he loves.

he is doing his usual stage antics but stops on the spot and does a double take when he sees you. you can hear the smile in his voice as he sings, but considering how wide it is on his face, you've sure the entire venue could see it anyway.

he finishes the song, doing his best to connect with the whole crowd, but he can not stop his eyes from drifting over to you. by the end of the song, he mouths to you, "I love you," whilst laughing in disbelief, and you just giggle and teasingly wave at him.

now does he call it out on stage??? perhaps... I think if he does he doesn't point you out or say your name he simply says, "I've just spotted by girlfriend in the audience, she's totally surprised me by being here so if the rest of the show is shit- you all know why"

I like to think the fans know matty has a gf but nothing else, no name or what you look like. because you're a non celeb, and he doesn't want you to have to deal with everything he does, and you don't mind either. any way you can stay out of the daily mail you're happy with

the show finishes, and it's not shit like matty said it's amazing as always. you get ushered off just before it ends to stand side stage waiting for matty.

you greet Annie when you get up there though, she's ecstatic to see you and asks whether you're staying, and you tell her you're there for the whole weekend and she shrieks and hugs you again and again. before the boys come off stage, someone comes and grabs Annie to wait in the green room. It's what's safest when there's so much commotion and movement.

she wanders off just as the boys come off stage, and you are immediately engulfed with just matty.

he hugs you, initially holding you tight and burrowing his face into your neck. He smells vaguely of sweat, wine, and cigs but somehow still smelt good.

he pulls back and hold you face between his hands, staring at you and flicking his eyes all over your face as if to confirm it's really you.

Once they hit your lips, he seems to remember he hasn't kissed you yet, so without a second thought, he pulls you in for a passionate kiss. you immediately moan at the contact, and matty uses the opportunity to slip his tongue into your mouth. your hands rake through his sweaty curls.

a wolf whistle from Ross breaks you apart, and you immediately go red and hide in mattys shoulder, he's of course, unashamed and simply throws Ross a wink, which makes everyone around you burst out laughing.

about an hour later, you're all sat in the green room, and the teasing begins;

"mate you should've seen your face I thought you were about to faint"

"I don't think I've seen your eyes go that wide since Sarah Marshall flashed you her tits at your 18th" (George covers Annie's ears as he shares this anecdote, much to her annoyance)

"I'm surprised you remembered the lyrics after that. You forget them at the best of times"

"OKAY, OKAY, let's all calm down, enough of the teasing, please," matty begs

"You did look very funny though daddy" annie says with a giggle fiddling with ross' hair as she sits in his lap.

everyone laughed at Annie's comment and she lit right up, matty however groaned and burrowed his head into your chest, you teasingly said "there there, it's so hard being a simp I know baby" whilst petting his head.

the laughter continues, and he pulls back with a gasp, open-mouthed at your cheeky comment. but he soon settles back on the sofa and pulls you into his side, and before long, Annie comes running over and burrows herself in between the two of you.

both you and annie fall asleep on the sofa, and matty sneaks a picture before he wakes you up to go to the hotel.

it's his background for the next 6 months.

My Personal Opinions on Minsung's Dynamic (2023)

Disclaimer: I am not trying to pass off my opinions as facts. This is my personal interpretation of what is laid out right in front of us. I could be completely off base because I don’t know these guys personally, so take this with a grain of salt and feel free to disagree!

I feel like this is the year where they’re as blatant as they possibly get.

This year, a lot more eyebrow raising moments come about. Ironically, a lot of them completely go under the radar under more popular moments (I.e: the neck kiss) that can be explained away as normal skinship (Han has kissed other members on the neck before) or even fanservice.

LK and Han seem a lot more settled into themselves as the year progresses. However, a lot of the habits we’ve seen of them have not changed one bit. The way they act (in concerts especially) directly parallels to how they were during all of those fansigns back in 2018. They’re always goofing off together, always finding ANY kind of way to interact. Sometimes I don’t even think they realize they’re in their “own world” at times cause it seems so habitual at this point. Someone who has seen the group in person has said it’s a lot more (extreme?) if you drift off to the side and pay close attention to those two.

This year (I don’t put fan sightings or airport pics, except the Jeju one lmao) there’s been an array of fan sightings (+ a few direct stories of their hangouts) of them during their off time as well. Like in previous years, they always seem to find a way to spend time together outside of work.

Now for a moment that I haven’t seen being talked about a lot:

Apart from their concert shenanigans, I think this one is one of the most telling. It’s during the YT live they have before Lollapalooza with Seungmin and I.N – the one where LK has the zoomies. LK asks Han for his hotel room number and Han laughs because he obvs can’t give it away on live (a lot of people freaked out about this but that’s not the part that made me raise my eyebrows at all, there was nothing questionable about that imo). It’s Seungmin’s reaction, rather. As soon as LK/Han are within a closer distance and Han responds, he literally scoots up closer to the camera to block them and stays frozen for a while. I tried to think of any other reason why that happened, but nothing else seems to come to mind.

Moments that got a kick out of me:

Han stomping his feet as soon as LK strips off his coat (for him, not for the fans 😭😭😭) during Sydney day 2, as he was watching him through the big screen.

LK being V.I.P to Han’s muscles and blatantly checking him out before Han covers himself up during the one of the later dome tour concerts.

Han twirling his butt for LK (im not making this up) during the soundcheck before the second Los Angeles concert and the look LK gives him as he’s approaching. 😵‍💫

And the long-awaited moment I’ve been itching to talk about. Maniac Tour - Sydney day 1.

Hooo boy.

There’s a lot to unpack, but I don’t want to go into details at all, for good reason (I think it’s pretty clear if you watch the clips). The way they were acting throughout that concert had me speechless, like they couldn’t turn off their giddiness for one second. Take a shot every time Han’s butt gets smacked/touched in that day alone. LK getting on YT live a couple of days after and trying to explain the ~lower body workout~ they had. If you notice how nervous he was trying to explain himself- 😵‍💫

Han couldn’t even sit down prop– *gunshots*

But anyways, it’s the most sus moment between them I’ve ever seen.

And 5-Star promotions. It was a time when Han was feeling noticeably under the weather. If you watch all throughout that period, Lee Know is so attentive and watchful of him. While Han strikes me as a “words” kind of person (case in point: their 2 kids show episode, Han was doing most of the talking lmao), Lee Know comes across as an “acts of service” type of guy. You’re not really going to hear him wax poetic about the members, but you’ll see his love for them through his actions. This is so evident here. You can see how much LK cares about him; the love he has for Han has always been so obvious, since the beginning.

From what we’re able to see, LK never seems to pressure (or even playfully tease) Han to act a certain way. He lets him be, all while being super attentive and being playful/funny as a way to make him feel better.

Also, Han being the one to write and share “Want So Bad” (+ the times during the tour where he pointed at LK when fans would show him husband/boyfriend/girlfriend posters; I wasn't able to find the footage paired w/ the posters of those moments unfortunately) makes all of this so bittersweet. Especially when you look back at his reactions towards LK in 2018 with anything “flirty” or potentially anything that toes the platonic line (i.e: the feelings discussion in the 1st 2KR). Having that little insight really pieces a lot of things together, especially when you go back and watch their moments from previous years. Again, they've come so far. 😭😭

My personal opinion:

I believe this is the year they want us to know, or rather the fans who have long suspected something going on between them.

Here, they’re at their 5th year of being idols (almost 6 years as a group). At this point, they know just how much they can get away with. The act of shipping is pretty ubiquitous amongst different groups because of the conditions we see them in (members are in constant close proximity with each other and we constantly see them interact). Which makes it easy for fans to partake in the act of shipping. These guys have been shipped with each other (and with other members!) for years now.

Skinship, Shipping, and “Bromance” isn’t exactly discouraged at all either. There’s a long history of fans shipping idols together, within and outside of their groups. Fanservice surrounding this is also widespread. I’ve followed enough groups over the years to notice certain/similar patterns amongst the shipping side of the fanbase and the idols concerned.

Which is where Minsung come in.

A few of the things they do (or the group as a whole, rather) can be passed off as just that (some of the 'ments at the Japan DOME concert tour come to mind), but a lot of things we’ve seen over the years cannot be explained away with FS or even SKZ-typical skinship and flirting. The “slip-ups” (I.e: Sydney day 1 lmfao) and the consistent patterns of their behavior I’ve compiled throughout these videos (I.e: LKs behavior in 2018, 2022, and 2023, especially) are at the tip of the iceberg.

There’s the “you’re my boyfriend, too” moment. The reason why I believe it made the final cut in the vlog was because it’s directly quoted from a show (also telling of how clever LK is). A moment like this could easily be written off as FS, however, it’s their reactions to it all that make me believe it’s legitimately a safe but clever way of saying something (before the more blatant Want So Bad was even written). As soon as LK jokingly says that his Gimpo friend is his boyfriend, he looks straight at Han and says “right?”, as if trying to egg on a reaction from him. Han visibly looks taken aback, like he was almost about to choke on his food, probably not expecting LK at all to say anything like that. But Han (probably also familiar with that quote) says “What about me?”. And LK responds accordingly.

Also, Felix/Changbin did a SKZ record love duet a couple of years back. Chan also suggested Felix do one with him during a (2KR?) episode. He recently released one with I.N too. It’s not exactly foreign to them.

Artists of the opposite sex collab on love songs/duets all the time. But I obviously don’t think any of the other members are more than platonic in any way shape or form because they don’t have consistent actual eyebrow raising moments that can’t be explained away with SKZ’s usual brand of jokey and/or playful flirting (i.e: CB/HJ’s dynamic), their no-boundary skinship, or run-of-the-mill fanservice that’s not unusual in the industry.

Opinions on the 2 Kids Show Episode (cause someone asked me about it and I thought it would be appropriate to add it onto here):

FIRST THINGS FIRST…

I am shocked by the near lack of teasing from Changbin. I thought he was going to go all the way with the teasing (in a similar fashion LK did with Felix and CB). He did get a few couple of things in though (Like how Han said he was too tired to go back to his dorm after he hung out with LK even though they live a floor apart) and CB being like “ooooh wow that’s a creative excuse”.

I’m also surprised, but not surprised by the vague description of “Want So Bad” from Han. First, during his Q&A on bubble, and then during the 2KS episode. To me, that speaks volumes. Especially when you compare it with how Han normally speaks about his work and with how other members (who also did love songs) spoke about their own duets. 

And them saying certain things about their bond, but then kind of contradicting themselves minutes later is interesting??? A lot of things were kept vague-ish throughout the episode - compare with Felix/Changbin being more open/specific about their friendship and joking about certain things like the pre debut kiss vs Minsung being more lowkey-ish.

But take all of the genuinely eyebrow raising moments + the love song (and its more specific lyrics, i.e: the cosmos flower mention; get closer I'm not playing around) + the near lack of/vaguer discussion compared to other SKZ records/try to compare their "discussion" to I.N/Chan's and Felix/Changbin's + Han specifically saying as he went over the lyrics he was reminded of LK. It paints a pretty damning picture IMO.

Which is why I believe they’re using whatever they have within their means (the pervasive shipping culture, the industry’s familiarity with fanservice, other things that overlap with what other members have done/said in the past like the the duets, etc.) to say as much as they can possibly say without damaging their careers and possibly the careers of the people surrounding them.

I love his mind

october 7th, 2022. i watched the case 143 music video 14 minutes after it had been released out of pure curiosity and pretty colors in the thumbnail. i didnt know anything about them or the fact that it was kpop when i clicked on the video. i had just gotten into kpop a few months ago and still solely listened to sf9 at that point.

yes. i cannot believe this, but yes. i met my best friend in atlanta for the maniac encore tour march 2023. at the time i was biasing hyunjin so i have a million and four photos of him and felix (my friends bias). it’s probably one of my favorite memories

Gavin who has kiddie merch that has a design Caelum made while the adult merch has him on it. Gavin who is trying to convince his PR manager to let him pull a Red Hot Chili Peppers and be naked on stage with just a bass guitar covering his personables. (they keep telling him no, even if they put a 18+ warning on the concert ticket site.)

Gavin who just sheds his shirt during concerts instead. And really, who can blame him? Those stage lights are hot and he's doing physical activities. He gets hot. And so does the person who catches his shirt that he throws out into the crowd. And so does the front couple rows that can see the sweat drops trace his skin and every muscle. 🥴

Freelancer who got a backstage pass because they caught Gavin's shirt and the pass was clipped onto it. They go backstage, just clutching onto his shirt and butterflies are in their stomach. Because they get to meet THE Gavin face-to-face. The manager ushers them into a room with a couch and tells them to wait here because Gavin is getting some water and such. Which they're okay with because they need time to calm their nerves.

So Freelancer is just pacing and trying to calm their racing heart, not realizing that Gavin is already in the room, but his manager didn't know that.

"If it helps calm you down, you can wear my shirt Deviant." And they nearly jump a couple feet in the air because he came out of fucking nowhere. And then they realize that he's still not wearing a shirt. But he is aware that he's still half nude? So they hold the shirt out to him and he just smiles that arrogant little smile of his and moves closer to push the shirt closer to their chest again.

And so they get to have this conversation with Gavin, getting more comfortable as they talk about any topic under the sun while he's just lightly tracing patterns on their knee or lower thigh while they sit on the couch.

Gavin who's so unused to fans wanting to just talk to him, usually they flirt and such with him. But this a refreshing break. So he's content to listen as Freelancer talks about forestry, mushrooms, how much they want to help people, how they love his music, ect.

Freelancer who realizes they've just been talking his ear off for the past hour, grows quiet again while apologizing. But Gavin just takes their hand and presses a kiss to the inside of their wrist.

"You don't need to apologize for having an interests and talking about them, Freelancer. I like hearing you talk." He says. And Freelancer just feels all warm inside.

"You're one of the few that do." They respond and Gavin smiles before handing them his phone. They're different from the other people he's met in his life. He tells them that they can call or text him whenever they want to talk, and they can even hang out when he's in this area again.

And maybe he tells his manager that he wants this location to be a permanent spot on any future tours, press runs, retreats, all of it.

I’m so traumatized from watching Led Zeppelin at live aid. I love Led Zeppelin but I get so angry watching that concert. I also feel bad for jonesy because he was trying to keep it all together. It’s like when you’re the only one in the group that put the work in the project and you have to deal with your group presenting horribly. I know that sorta doesn’t make sense because the live aid concert was in front of millions of people. But with jonesy he was stuck and had to deal with Robert and Jimmy 😭.

Live aid is . . . I don’t even have words to describe how awful it is. First year of college, my roommate and I used to watch clips of live aid whenever we were struggling with a project or felt like bad musicians so we could remind ourselves that at least we don’t sound that bad.

I’ve heard so many reasons (mostly from Jimmy) why it was bad. Phil Collins (who was not spectacular by any means, but definitely did not derail the whole set) messed it up, The monitors weren’t working so they couldn’t hear themselves, Robert’s voice was shot from touring, they didn’t get time to rehearse, the guitar tech messed up the tuning, Robert and Jimmy had a huge fight before and Jimmy was rattled so he didn’t play well etc.

But you are so right about the group project thing. I feel like in general, JPJ is always right on the money, no matter what was going on (I can only recount one time from all the bootlegs I’ve listened to where he fucked up and it was Kashmir in Zurich 1980 where JPJ forgot to take the bridge, but I’m still not entirely sure who messed that up because at one point everyone forgot to play the breakdown except JPJ, so it seemed like everyone was just a little off that day, but this is irrelevant). Anyway, Jonesy was rock solid as usual, even with just one hour of rehearsal. And I can’t imagine how humiliating it would be to stand up there, having hundreds of thousands of people watching, and just knowing that you’re the only one who is actually trying and actually gives a fuck. I honestly think JPJ saved that set, which is funny since he wasn’t even supposed to be invited, initially.

That must be so incredibly frustrating to know that you were the one who was always right on and keeping everything together when everyone else was floundering, and to still be left out of reunions and projects and talked about like you were the least relevant. Jonesy really is a better person than I am because If I had been treated like that, I would’ve said a lot more than “thank you for finally remembering my phone number.”

Like George said about the Beatles and John and Paul, though, I think Robert and Jimmy were often in their own little robertjimmy world, and before live aid, that’s what they were doing when they were having their little ‘I’ve moved on and I’m a solo artist now’ ‘no, my band and my power ballad will always be the defining moment of your career’ pissing match and clearly were so wrapped up in their own shit, they couldn’t be bothered to come together and make a decent setlist they both agreed on, practice it diligently and performing it well. So obviously this fight led to Robert singing badly because nobody gives 100% doing something they don’t want to do, and Jimmy playing badly because he was rattled by the fight so we, the audience, were left with a laughable performance.

But hey, no matter how embarrassingly awful it is, at least we now have hilarious footage of the great Jimmy Page v Mic Stand war of 1985!

I think everyone has a secret fantasy about marrying their favorite celebrity. That’s why celebrities and idols exist and why boy bands are so successful. I’m really showing my age but omg the frenzy in the 90s and early 2000s around NYSNC and The Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears?? Unparalleled. Then in the late 2000s we saw it again with Justin Bieber and One Direction. The Josie and Pussycats film (SLAY) makes fun of the entertainment industry the entire movie by even parodying boyband obsession, product placements, and the trend cycles. The movie went over so many peoples’ heads when it was released so it bombed at the box office but it’s a cult classic for a reason. Highly recommend to watch!!! Also aging myself again by admitting I had both the dvd AND soundtrack as kid bc the songs are bangers. Honestly the 90s-2000s in general just rocked. This is the only meme I have of the film but see the product placement and the mockery of boy bands? Genius.

The 1D documentary is a perfect example of the boy band frenzy that JATP film was mocking bc they even had a small scene where they had a neuroscientist or someone similar in that profession (I haven’t seen the movie in a few years so I’m not 100% sure but I was a hardcore 1d stan and have the dvd bc their live vocals honestly slap. Anyway the neuroscientist was saying that corporations/ music companies have these formulas to create the perfect idol down to a t after studying the phenomenons of rabid Beatles and Elvis fans in the 50/60s. It has to do with the happiness chemicals in the brain. Combine those with good looks and music? You can’t help but fall in love. The entertainment industry then purposely directs their carefully molded artists to vulnerable audiences (preteens, teens, women) because they will buy more products. Casey Aonso (another fellow 1d stan wassup girl) YouTube video describes their XFactor era HILARIOUSLY. War flashbacks. The clips about HOW BAD each individual one direction members auditions were but you could see the $$$ in the judges eyes bc the boys were good looking and you could tel the judges were plotting how to sell the boys good looks. ahhh i see. that makes complete sense to me. it’s hard to keep up with multiple groups and dedicate yourself to all of them equally or nearly equally. i’ve been a multi since… almost the beginning, and i find myself feeling overwhelmed a lot lol. but it’s also so much fun, and there’s always content to indulge in. i love coming back to music i haven’t listened to in a while and falling back in love with it. that happened to me recently with bts’ best of me.

ohmygod little storytime. i was watching ashley ippolito on youtube, and i had basically rewatched the majority of her videos, but i never watched any of the bts ones. i decided to watch her rose bowl concert vlog, and i was doing alright until serendipity started. i was blown away by the song, the choreography, the stage, and i started sending clips to my friends lol. one person was like 🥴 this is not for me, and my dear friend addy @fitmydaydream was all over it. she actually discovered bts in 2017 (right? dna?) originally, but we started the journey again together. in january of 2020, i discovered euphoria, probably listened to it 10 times or so, and then moved on with my life. if i had searched a live performance i probably would’ve gotten hooked then, but now i thank park jimin for pulling me in. dove down the rabbit hole after that. i discovered got7 that same week too. now i’m feeling all happy and nostalgic. take me back. what a fun time 😭
