okay I don't usually post on swiftie tumblr but I'm done standing by and watching y'all complain about hits different not being on spotify when it's super easy to upload it yourself. get ready for some instructions™ because after these very easy steps you too can have hits different on spotify.

1. okay so step number one is having spotify premium. unfortunately, this step is unavoidable because this does NOT work on the free version of spotify. so if you can't get spotify premium I apologize.

2. step number two is…uh having the song. if you're not sure how to go about that there are a few options. if you're really committed to supporting taylor with your every cent then you can buy the target version of midnights and rip the file onto your computer then send it to your phone but I know not everyone has a CD burner in this day and age—and let's face it, I don't expect most younger swifties would know how to use one lol. the second best option is asking a fellow swiftie for an mp3 file of the song (what I did). or you can…*ahem* 🏴‍☠️ cuz if we're affording eras tour tickets then we can't be spending all our money on CDs we can't even listen to (at least I know I can't since I haven't had a CD player in years). ooooor you can just download it here!

3. okay now that you have the file on your phone the rest is simple. you go to your spotify app and open the settings. I'm doing this on android so it might be a liiiiittle different on ios but I'm sure the gist of it is the same. you scroll until you find the section titled local files. then you simply switch the toggle shown below:

4. and voila! now you will see a folder titled local files in your library. from there you just open that section and you will see all the audio files downloaded to your phone. you can even like the songs or add them to playlists!

I even have the stolen version of red (because I prefer it to the rerecord don't kill me) but since it's in my local files it doesn't contribute any streams to the stolen version so I can listen to it guilt free.

anyhow I know I'm not the best at instructions but I hope it was easy enough to follow. it's really not that hard and requires very little technical knowhow so I think anyone can do it! and being able to play local files opens a lot of doors because you'd be surprised at how many songs aren't on spotify. so please take things into your own hands and do this because hits different…hits different when played between mastermind and the great war!

IHad a nice dream about Kard. I somehow knew them, they invited me to a party. (I'm guessing it was to celebrate Bomb Bomb. They got their first win, Somin was mostly absent though, for some reason, apart from still wearing her stunning red ensemble and still having her hair in that high ponytail. Jseph had a hair cut though, it was a bit shorter and was black 🙁🙁🙁🙁) and jseph, jiwoo and I spent a lot of time upstairs just talking and drinking. Mostly jseph and jiwoo, in the morning they were more hungover than me though I was still hungover, but they were dealing with it really well. They didn't even look it, for example jseph had really clear skin and his eyes didn't look bloodshot or tired at all, he looked very beautiful while he drank more than I did, he was sort of quiet but happy to listen, much like me apart from when he did speak the night before he slurred his words and laughed more. Then BM came in the room (Like Jseph and Jiwoo, he wasnt really affected by the drink, but he's a giant so of course he'd be alright) shirtless, carrying his shirt with him, I said hi before he shut the door and he mouthed hi while waving at us because someone (I need to say Somin) was sleeping downstairs. Then he closed the door, and started taking his sweatpants off (I feel dirty, I am so sorry haha XD), meanwhile he was politely apologetic for the fact that we had to leave because he had other mates coming over, Jiwoo said she and Jseph were going to hang out somewhere, and then BM noticed us all unable to look away so he happily showed us both his thigh tattoos. One of them was very long and it was a quote, he was beaming and looking so cuteeeeeeee.

My top 10 favorite openings

Yeah I know nobody asked for it, but welcome to discover new music and hopefully new animes/mangas if they catch your eye. I won't include openings of romcoms or a few slice of life stories since I should make a different list for them. I'll add the name of the band if I find it. There's a couple of songs here from animes I didn't watch. If you think there's another amazing opening that should be listened to, share!

MOB PSYCHO 100 I [99 - Mob Choir]

I always thought this was some uninteresting anime, and well I was totally wrong. The animation is AWESOME, the story is really cool and explores some interesting perspectives about life that other shonen (or seinen?) ignore. It has a different style, it's kinda plain at times (and this might be good because it avoids unnecessary complexity) but in my opinion, much better than some popular animes of the moment. I feel it's very original, and stays as part of my top 10 manga/animes too.

FULL METAL ALCHEMIST BROTHERHOOD [Again - YUI]

This might be my favorite song. If I ever fall in a coma, try to wake me up with it, I'm sure it will work. I might be biased because this is the first anime I watched (when I didn't care about these kind of series) and I love it, and it's definitely my favorite (I was lucky to be gifted the first volume in japanese). The melody is calm and the lyrics are heart touching. FMA is a manga and anime you should add to your watch/read list without a doubt. Sharing short version of the song to find the channel of the artist.

BOKU NO HERO ACADEMIA [The day - Porno Grafitti]

I will never regret being on the bus playing this song on my phone (with headphones) being seen by people who would think something about the name of the band (like listening to anime openings almost every day wasn't already a weird thing). None of the other songs of BNHA surpassed the greatness of this song IMO.

About it, even though it gets criticism I think it's a good story, and I feel it can be incredibly creative at times - there's a reason why it's so popular after all. I should also remark that it pays attention to a lot of characters, secondary or villains have good development (something that I haven't seen in other shonen or they fail to do it, and remember BNHA has A LOT of characters).

This story is definitely going to be long, I think it's close to reach its first half, expect probably 70 volumes or so.

NARUTO [Kanashimi Wo Yasashisa Ni - Little by Little]

Wait? WHAT? Did you really pick this opening over Silhouette? I mean, no offense to Silhouette and the fantastic band KANA-BOON, but I've listened to it so many times (best memes lol), and I already didn't have it as my favorite. There are other openings that I love (Naruto Shippuden this time): 2, 3, 5, 9, 10, 14, 15 (Guren is the best one IMO), 16, 17, 20.

You didn't watch Naruto? Then what are you doing here? It's a must watch! It's a shonen with beautiful messages, inspiring characters, and this song probably embodies one positive vibe of the story - best part "the most important things are those without any shape".

PSYCHO PASS [Abnormalize - ling tosite sigure]

This anime is definitely in my favorite list, I feel it's the best seinen I've watched. Its manga is an adaptation, but the original story is the one that's animated. Some people say that season 2 and 3 aren't as good as the first and honestly it's hard to do something more brilliant than the incredible season 1, nonetheless you would miss the progress of the story and interesting characters if you only leave at the first one.

It reaches some philosophical thoughts that not all sci-fi can explore on the same way. Don't expect it to be an easy watch though - you better click pause to understand every dialogue.

SHINGEKI NO KYOJIN [Shinzou wo sasageyo - Linked Horizon]

Yeah, the first opening is AMAZING, but I might have a thing for 2nd openings. I must say that the synchronization of the scenes don't make justice for the melody of this song, though. Attack on Titan might reach the top 5 best shonen (is it shonen anyways?) anime/manga of all time.

I saw everyone talking about it and praising it, so I decided to watch the first episode and I couldn't get through it because of its disturbing art LMAO. My eye is accustomed to other kind of art, but I have to say I WAS TOTALLY WRONG. Good thing the second time I watched it I felt comfortable and discovered not only a mind-blowing story, but yeah, its animation is fantastic (take a peek at a few YT videos showing the process on the making of Levi's scenes). I only follow the manga to be updated, and I'm bad at recognizing characters, but you won't waste time or money by giving this one a chance.

THE PERFECT INSIDER [Talking - KANA BOON]

I tell you, this is a list of favorite openings, it doesn't mean I've watched all the anime, but I'm going to do it thanks to these fantastic songs, and KANA BOON deserved a mention. Also known as "Subete ga F ni Naru" this seinen anime is based on a novel.

MOB PSYCHO 100 II [99.9 - Mob Choir]

Wasn't this anime already on the list? No, no it's not (?) I mean, HOW CAN'T I INCLUDE THIS ONE. Fantastic. I thought I wouldn't be able to fall in love with the new opening but after listening to it twice I couldn't get it off my mind. There's a reason, well deserved reason, why it got chosen for the Crunchyroll awards...

NEON GENESIS EVANGELION [Zankoku na Tenshi no Te-ze - Yoko Takahashi/Hidetoshi Sato]

Starts with an angelic voice to a disco-like rhythm, and it's without a doubt a fantastic song. This might be the most famous opening of anime. Pay attention or watch twice if you want to understand the story, though.

There is a song that's missing, don't you think so? This one can't be part of a top 10 because it's honestly so amazing that leaving it there would make it shine less, and it deserves the BEST recognition.

TOKYO GHOUL [Unravel - TK from ling tosite sigure]

If I'm in a coma and the song Again didn't work, then this one will wake me up FOR SURE. I love how it embodies the angst of the story, the tragedy, the bad luck of the protagonist. I recommend to read the manga instead of keeping too loyal to the anime - it's no surprise that SP messed up with the storytelling of another manga... Did I say how hard it must be to play it on the piano? Or even sing it?

Month of Spreads, Day 2

today's prompt calls for us to shuffle our favorite music (or interact with other media) and then draw some cards to ask what this song is saying to me today.

all things considered, if I'm getting advice today, I want it before I get off work because of where I'm going immediately after (and the social interactions I will have there) so I'm using all mobile tools and in downtime at work. not perhaps the most professional, but I won't necessarily write it up on work time, just record the song and cards that come up

even though I saw the prompt before i left for work, and instructed myself to bring my ipod, which has the exact playlist i immediately thought to use (i occasionally use it for shufflemancy) I promptly forgot to grab it, so I used Spotify instead and since I'm on mobile with a free account, my only option is shuffle.

I clicked on my favorite band and only once the song started did I realize I'd meant to decide before any songs started whether i was using the first song or whether i was skipping 3/5/7 songs and using the 4th/6th/8th. but it is very hard to re-shuffle Spotify so I decided to use the first one so I'm not second guessing myself all day.

I'm... really not at the top of my game this week, to no one's surprise.

anyway, so the song is Analog Kid by Rush. I promptly put it on repeat on YouTube so i could internalize the song and the message from it

I have the Golden Thread Tarot app and while it's excellent for daily readings and pretty good for the spreads it already has programmed in, it doesn't have a general "pull x cards for some other question" mode. so i decided to use the "individual card" option multiple times to pull as many cards as "feel right" rather than try to interpret "what does this song have to say to me" through a past-present-future lens. and if the same card comes up multiple times because the app re-shuffles, I'll accept that as part of the reading.

I started with three cards because so many spreads use exactly three cards, and i do find three to be a good balance of enough information and not overwhelmingly many to interpret.

I had to resize my screen after drawing the first one, in order to see it properly, and then i mistook the just-drawn card for my already-complete daily reading and inadvertently threw it away by going back to the "choose reading" screen. but after that I drew:

and I kind of panicked because this is intense even without looking deeply at the meaning of each card and I couldn't decide whether the impulse to keep drawing cards until i get a Minor Arcana card was real tarot intuition or just morbid curiosity.

okay yeah so much for waiting to write this up until I'm home late tonight - i need to properly interpret the cards to hopefully figure out whether I still need to draw more.

the song on its own merits gives me a strong sense of the stress and chaos of young adult life but also coming of age and finding your place (and peace) in the rush of the adult world

the moon (and a line in one of the verses) reflect on how illusory dreams can be. like dreams are good to have but if I don't know what i want in the real world how can I ever hope to achieve it?

the tower (reversed) and the tempo of all the verses and half of each chorus seem to be calling me out on anxiety again which is.... not surprising. I got a voicemail today while at work that averted something I was panicking about as future disaster. it's just not going to happen.

and temperance (reversed) reminds me to find balance in my life, or hints that something is out of balance. the slower parts of the chorus, which hints at both the need and the ability to find peace.

anyway these all make sense together and it might be a complete reading after all but I'm going to go see how many more cards I'll draw before getting a Minor because I'm still strongly feeling the urge to. if it comes up seeming like the future cards also belong in this reading I'll either reblog or edit this post to add them. and I'll almost certainly include the minor that eventually comes up to identify what the first step out of this chaos-intense part of my life might be

oh and for what it's worth the next song on Spotify was Xanadu. which definitely reminds me of the card The Moon. hmmm
