Hood went on to be the making of ITC and Lew Grade and lasted #a whopping 143 episodes over 4 years; Pimpernel made it to only 18 despite being planned as a 39 part series (standard length for these #early itc shows). exactly what went wrong i dont know; Goring was heavily involved in production as well as starring and maybe that played #a part‚ or maybe the popular success of Hood meant this show was no longer affordable. idk im just speculating but from #what I've seen it's fairly fun. starting on ITV just a week after the network commenced transmission‚ it's safe to say this didn't capture #the public imagination like Hood did and it does seem to have been rather forgotten about. Pat is actually a series regular and these #pics come from a few different eps among the first few. he isn't in the very first (nor is the Pimpernel's other faithful companion #played by Anthony Newlands) and i do wonder if that was a pilot (it has Robert Shaw as the Pimpernel's right hand and to my #knowledge he doesn't reappear; he'd make up for it with a starring role in one of ITC's next series‚ The Buccaneers #but yes he's here and he's fantastic and gets to be dashing and heroic (tho never moreso than Goring of course). he's also the one of the #three heroes who best suits the powdered hair look (Newlands looks quite unfortunate). and of course i know what im doing with that #last shirtless pic.. you're welcome Pat girlies (gender neutral) #maybe I'll make another post after I've seen a few more eps but i wasn't going to commit to a Pat post for every episode im afraid

I think one of the main things that bother me about Alina’s cult becoming so wide-spread, is her whole “Sainthood” is build on a heap of lies.

She’s worshipped because the Apparat spreads a story about her death and resurrection in the Fold, she doesn’t do any miracles (unless you count branding a fanatic and some lightshow), she doesn’t even destroy that fucking Fold! She kills the Darkling, when he’s at his weakest, broken man at that point, and what she decides to do next? Has others fake her death “off screen” and fucks off to live a life sponsored by the Crown.

The Darkling gave her the Stag, the Darkling and Nikolai served the Sea Whip on a golden platter for her, Malyen basically kills himself to get her the third amplifier and even her loss of power and its redistribution isn’t her choice or doing.

Saints are supposed to suffer, okay, but they’re supposed to do something for others by own choice! What did Alina achieve as herself?!

Patron Saint of Orphans and Undiscovered Gifts? Neither is her merit. 

I won’t even start about the orphanage ending, payed by bankrupt country. What kind of home can offer broken teenager- who herself needs some serious help to heal- to damaged children? Comfort? How much can give someone, who needs it themselves? Her “not making” Grishenka leave for training clearly shows she can make more damage than good.

People who don't know dog body language who have pushy sketchy dogs are so awful to be around. I told our housemates that their dog Klaus doesn't like me when we went out to watch the eclipse earlier today because I didn't want to go in the fenced yard with him out and they were like "oh no he's fine don't worry." When he saw me he charged up to the fence, high flagged tail, snorting and barking and jumping at the fence and they still were like "oh he's friendly, he just wants to smell you, see his tail is wagging". Like my dude... tail wagging does not mean friendly, and what about the noises he's making rn sounds friendly to you?

Selene's sister grabbed him and I thought she was going to take him inside because she acted like she was going to, but instead she stopped halfway and just held him back while I came into the yard and then let him go to run up and sniff me, which he had very stiff body language the entire time he did so. For a while after that he ignored me because of the kids calling him away and was chill, but still kept coming over and sniffing me occasionally and was very tense each time so I just tried to stay calm and sweet talk him and didn't try to touch him to help defuse the situation.

Then I walked a little away from the group to point out a plant in the yard to Selene's mom which was a mistake because once I was out of the little circle we were standing in he started body blocking me, tense face, stiff body, whale eyeing, and then jumping at me and barking. They tried to call him away and were like "oh he's just trying to get you to play, sorry he's so demanding of attention." I started trying to walk toward the gate to leave because he very much was NOT trying to get me to play and I did not feel confident in their ability to control him, and he immediately did it again. And again they tried to call him away. And I got maybe another two steps before he turned right back around and did it again. And they called him away again saying he was just trying to play. Rinse and repeat for a total of like six times of him body blocking me, tense and whale eyeing, and then jumping at me and barking. All while they're just laughing like "Sorry, Klaus just really loves playing". Dudes your dog is actually behaving aggressively toward me right now, please get control over him so I can leave he is NOT TRYING TO PLAY WITH ME.

This is the second time I've been invited into the yard while Klaus was out and the first time they kept telling me the same thing but he was actually following me around growling at me then and they were still like "oh it's just cuz he doesn't know you yet, he'll warm up to you, he's friendly". YOUR DOG IS SKETCHY. I DONT WANT TO INTERACT WITH HIM. HE DOESN'T LIKE ME. PLEASE JUST PUT HIM INSIDE WHEN I'M IN THE YARD WITH Y'ALL. And PLEASE learn some dog body language because nothing about his right now says "friendly" at all!!!!! Not even a little!!!! TAIL WAGGING DOES NOT MEAN FRIENDLY, ESPECIALLY A HIGH FLAGGED TAIL.

God i could have such a chill evening if it wasn't for that doctor's appointment tomorrow morning looming over me

#this wouldn't be so stressful if i didn't have to take a train to get there #the ride is only 4 minutes but i have to walk to the dr's office for 1.8 km which is about 24 minutes #but i haven't really been to this town before and don't know the way so i have to use maps to get there #and the appointment is at 8:30am and the train i would Like to take is scheduled for 7:54 am which would be fine #if the fucking bahn worked and was punctual for once but there's no punctual trains in this godforsaken country #so my anxiety tells me that this train will arrive 8:15 am at the earliest instead of at 7:58am #so i would be late and i can't be late i would just kill myself #but if i want to play it safe i have to take the train 30 minutes earlier which would mean I'd have one hour #to walk there and I'm Really not in the mood of just spending 30 minutes waiting outside like a weirdo because i have too much time left #so my options are either take the risk and be relatively punctual rather than having 35 minutes left to spare #or just waste an hour of my life because I'm too afraid to potentially be late #also the fact i have to wait for a train back home again and cannot plan this at all because idk how long I'll be in the office #is so annoying #and also I've never been to this doctor and i don't know how the whole thing will go and how the rooms and everything look like #and it's stressing me out #also that i have to plan at least 2 hours for an appointment that probably won't take longer than 5 minutes #because of the fucking trains #anyway #i should go to sleep now #40 hours without sleep and not more than 4 hours on average the days before have left me broken lmao #i gotta practice my lines though. i cannot go in without a rehearsed script. gotta be careful around doctors and choose your words wisely #otherwise they won't take you seriously or think you're overdramatic and dismiss any concern as 'anxiety' #yeah no i don't trust them- i hate relying on them- let me be free ahhh #void screams
