Honestly? If people understood just how much of a harrowing job underground coal mining is and the high mortality rate that comes with it due to accidents/explosions/illnesses, I think they would better understand why Rose is Like That to a slight degree.

But also, it'd be a lot better if we got that sort of insight through a type of unmissable clue you find in Galar's environment, implying the dangers imposed on a miner from either the mine itself or human error, allowing you to have some concrete insight of Rose as a character himself, rather than a random piece of throwaway dialogue made by Oleana way past the main story.

I think frankly it's none of my business what someone chooses to spend their free time writing, so long as it's all appropriately tagged. If you, a grown adult on the internet, read a fanfiction portraying something weird and immediately take that as the author endorsing that something, that's a major lack of basic critical thinking on your part. Hunger Games wasn't 'endorsing' kids dying by portraying kids dying, Great Gatsby wasn't 'endorsing' shooting someone and letting them die in a pool, Jane Eyre wasn't 'endorsing' child abuse by having a main character who was abused.

Maybe the author is writing weird dark shit because it helps them deal with some kind of trauma. Maybe they're not. It's none of my business, and they don't have to share anything with me (an internet stranger) when I could simply Not Read It if it upsets me that much.

I think a much bigger reflection on your morals and interests is being able to curate your own online experience, and not expect strangers to submit 'proof' they have the 'right' to write specific stuff.

I think something thats also so disappointing and bad about TS' new album is like. you can recover from weird or clunky or shallow lyrics if the instrumental, production, or vocal performance of your song is really good. some of my fav bands have songs with clunky, shallow, or boring lyrics but the backtrack/production or vocal performance is so good that it makes up for it entirely. But since TS insists on working with that one guy who produces every song the exact same way every time the instrumental and production value is so low the lyrics become all you have. and they suck. so the song sucks. she's also never giving anything but simple melodies with occasional three part harmonies over and over and over so the vocal performance is just as worn out and boring. Atp im just begging that she takes a break and finds another angle or starts working with another fucking producer.
