Happy Inception Day! For Inceptiversary2023 and @inception30daychallenge Day 16, I cross-stitched the cast of Inception.
I based their style on some cartoon pixel art I found, and tried to pick their most iconic outfits from the movie. (But in case you need a hint... from top left: Eames, Arthur, Ariadne, Dom, Mal, Robert, Saito, Yusuf.)
It was a lot of fun trying to get the right colors, and convey each character in very few stitches. But I am never doing 3-strand floss on 20-count aida again!

Inceptiversary 2023 is fast approaching...
…and we’re so excited to see you there!
The Inception fandom currently has two chat room servers:

Jump in and say hello! If links are expired, don’t hesitate to reach out to the inceptiversary mods for assistance.
Below the cut is a list of all the events that will be taking place this year! Most events run from July 1 to 31, but some are starting earlier and some are running a little longer. Make sure to read the descriptions for each event and don’t hesitate to reach out to us with any questions!
Inception 30 Day Challenge ( @inception30daychallenge )
The Inception 30 Day Challenge is a set of 30+ questions and prompts about Inception, its characters, and you! They’re meant to inspire some reflection and creativity about Inception, whether it be through a simple text post, art, music, recs – anything goes! And there will be prizes!

Inception Art ( @inceptionart )
A blog to celebrate all the wonderful art created by the Inception fandom! Feel free to share inception art with us, either your own or others', by reblogging (not reposting!) the artwork and tagging the inceptionart blog!
Arthur/Eames Last Drabble Writer Standing ( @aeldws )
Signups closed; all 10 slots filled.
A weekly elimination drabble challenge where all works must fit a given prompt and feature Arthur/Eames as the main pairing. This year’s AELDWS will run for seven weeks, from June 30 to August 11, with a maximum of 10 participants. Prompts are posted on the @aeldws blog Friday at 1AM EDT, and drabbles are due Tuesday at 1PM EDT. Voting will take place Tuesday night through Thursday night.
Inception Kitties ( @inceptionkitties )
30 days of inceptionkitties means 30 questions for the 30 days of Inceptiversary before we draw a random winner on the 31st! A fun question will be posed to the InceptionKitties community each day, and all our cat parents have to do is reblog the post and share their response! There’s no signups or obligation to do all 30 questions. Pick and choose at your convenience! But anyone who tackles 15 days of questions gets entered into the draw for a small prize!
Inception Positivity ( @inceptionpositivity )
Submissions open until July 28.
Inception Positivity is a place to send love and kind thoughts to Inception fandom friends anonymously and receive some love in turn. People submit kind messages via Google form and these are turned into colourful posts that are posted on the blog.

Coming back for its third year, a fest to celebrate any and all gen fanworks! There are no signups needed and no rule except one: whatever you create, a romantic relationship cannot be the focus of the fanwork.
Inception Trick or Treat ( @inceptiontrick-or-treat )
October; Posting Day October 31
A free for all content extravaganza where artists and authors create fun-size works for the fandom. We actively encourage and welcome doodles and drabbles. It was always a blast to find the house giving our full size candy bars, so longer fics and more complicated art are also accepted. Halloween and fall themes are encouraged, but not required. All pairings and gen are welcome.

A fun fandom gift exchange! When you sign up, you provide a prompt and a list of pairings, genres, etc. you would be open to receiving. Then you list pairings, genres, etc. that you would be willing to create. Once signups have closed, Saito shuffles all the responses together and pairs everyone up with someone else (but secretly!). On posting day, you can unveil your fanwork to your giftee and spread some love!

For @inception30daychallenge Day 14: Your favorite outfit in Inception
I think we can all agree that every single one of Mal's outfits is gorgeous. From the neckline and beading of the dress in Saito's first dream, to the stunning purple dress on their anniversary night, to the classic red overcoat... Mal always looks good.
But my favorite is from the scene where they're building sandcastles in limbo. Even her beach cover-up game is on point.
