(JJBA OC, WIP) Beatrix Indovinare
A/N: A while back I made her. Realistically she can be put into almost any part past part 3, it just depends on how you write it. She's a WIP and isn't paired with anybody. One day I thought the concept of suppressing one's stand sounded interesting. Her stand suppressant pills are directly inspired by the persona suppressing pills that show up in Persona 3. Her character as a whole is directly inspired by Tae Takemi from Persona 5. She isn't perfect, but this is all I have of her currently.
Name: Beatrix Indovinare
Gender: Female
Nationality: Italian
Age: 30 (January 15th, 1971, Aquarius)
Height: 177.8 cm (5'10)
Hair color: Black
Eye color: Medium purple
Occupation: A back-alley doctor with a full-fledged doctor degree that creates medicine (primarily), a fortune teller (secondarily)
Personality strengths: Careful, open-minded, patient, imaginative, logical, and kind
Personality weaknesses: Stubborn, insular, lacks empathy, blunt, cynical
Overall personality: A woman who, through her medical degree and stand, wishes to ease the physical troubles of others that modern medicine can't address fully or at all. While kind, she is uninterested in the detailed lives of others and often doesn't empathize with their troubles. She wishes only to make her patient feel better when modern medicine can not. She's open-minded to hear out new ideas, but can be rather stubborn to convince at times because of how particular she is. She prefers to approach everything carefully and logically (whether it be how she runs the business or how she treats patients). With patients it's a mixed bag on their opinion of her. While she is helping them, some people don't agree with how blunt she is. Others take it as honesty whether than beating around the bush. Her cynical outlook has rubbed some people the wrong way. A lot of individuals love that she's so patient and willing to work with them to create something that helps them (ex. A person who dislikes taking pills because of the bitter taste. She makes sugar pills imbued with her stand's energy so that it makes taking the pill easier.) Overall, she is considered a neutral party who doesn't side with villains or heroes.
Background (WIP): Beatrix was born into a family that practices fortunetelling. Her family's abilities have shown to be strong, so passing on the way of fortunetelling to each new generation was expected. Disinterested in her family's practice and rejecting it, she set off to medical school to become a doctor who could help others. As she went along life while attending medical school, she grew to be a cynical individual. Despite this, her desire to help others get better was still strong. Partway through her schooling she developed her stand. After experimenting with it for years and eventually graduating, she discovered that she could use it to help others in ways modern science can't. So instead of being a general practitioner, she opened her own small clinic. It was around then that she began to embrace her fortunetelling roots as a result of her stand. She starts to use her knowledge in chemicals used in pills and her stand to create medicine that could ease the symptoms and effects certain medical conditions give a patient. She quickly grew in popularity and the existence of her and her clinic spread like wildfire. Her specialty is stand suppressants.
Stand: Beneath the Surface
- Appears as a crystal ball that can be seen also by non-stand users. A small, appearanceless (no facial features or anything, just appears as black with human shape) figure resides inside that only stand users can see. Using the figure inside, Beatrix is able to discern stand users from regular people. Non-stand users only see a simple crystal ball.
- All of her medicines have a slight equivalent exchange symptom because of her stand. You can cure one thing but you'll have some other problem in exchange, just to a lesser degree (ex. You're suffering from chest pains of unknown cause and you take a pill, only to be afflicted with something else like an upset tummy).
- A secondary ability of hers is fortunetelling. She can only see blips of the present and future within the span of one day. The figure in the crystal ball will take on the form of an individual in shape (but not appearance). If there is more than one individual in the glimpse, the figure will divide and shape itself accordingly. There is no background, only the figures. A scene will play out but the people talking (if there is talking) will cut in and out like a radio with poor signal. It's up to Beatrix to piece together what she hears. This keeps her from being dangerously all seeing.
Medicine details:
- Each medicine is a mix of chemicals used in commercial pills and her stand's energy. Typically they are distributed as sugar pills (stevia powder that's been put in a pill press). Regular individuals and stand users come too her, but stand users usually come to her for one thing: stand suppressants.
- Unlike her other concoctions, these suppressants are made 90% from her stand's energy. The other 10% are chemicals she puts in to ease some of the effects the pill gives the user via her stand energy.
- The suppressants work like this: With 'Beneath the Surface's energy, it suppresses a part of the spirit. The spirit is a whole person's being and part of what keeps them alive, so the spirit is only suppressed enough that it won't cause damage to the user. 'Beneath the Surface' cannot suppress everything, however. It is a 50/50 effort with Beatrix's stand doing half the work while the user has to control the rest of the stand to keep it from emerging.
- The suppressants come with the caveat of upper abdomen-chest pain and fatigue (low energy, winded more easily). This is because I imagine the spirit to be somewhere within that area. The pain is from the suppressing and the fatigue is from the user picking up the slack. The severity of the pain and fatigue depends on the stand. It's a bit taxing on the body, more so with stands more powerful and strong willed like King Crimson. With stands like King Crimson, the side effects are lethal to the user. For stands like Hermit Purple or Moody Blues, it poses much less of a threat to the user with the pain and fatigue being lighter.
- Beatrix made these primarily for stand users who: Can't control their stand (from attacking innocents or their user, like Holy Kujo) or want to hide/conceal their stand (usually from either the user's, who often don't know what stands are, fear of people finding out about it or from users who are trying to lie low)
- These pills (stand suppressants) are meant to be taken twice a day. Each one lasts for 12 hours. If one were to fail taking a full day's dose, they'd be hit with withdrawal. The symptoms include: Their stand randomly activating and deactivating, A blistering fever, increased fatigue (likely from the stand going rampant after being suppressed), dizziness. These can be eased via nighttime cold medicine, as it lulls the user to sleep and lowers the fever.

l'uomo mediocre può avere questa o quella attitudine speciale: può avere talento. Ma l'intuizione gli è vietata. Non ha una seconda vista; non l'avrà mai. Può imparare: non può indovinare.
