he's absolutely insane. the coldhearted mercenary that barely reacts to anything is terrified of kirei. he's super fucked up. his ult in stay night is literally him channeling divine power into something called kyrie eleison. he's the vessel of rasputin (on account of being a priest with a huge....no i shant say) the biblical beast in grand order among other things. he gets drunk with and tops gilgamesh from the epic of gilgamesh in the church basement after gilgamesh from the epic of gilgamesh bats his eyes a little too hard at kirei in some of the horniest shot scenes ive ever seen. he also used to be a heretical "fixer" for the church, cleaning up scenes that would expose shit to the public. uhh what else. he holds cool swords between his fingers like a kid pretending to be wolverine but in my favorite route he just squares the hell up with the protagonist and they fight to the death outside planned parenthood
Firestar
Kitty jesus, he believes in starclan which is the kitty version of heaven/god and yea. All the warrior cats characters except those outside the clans or those that are atheist believe in the kitty heaven and would irl be bri-ish and christian as hell so. The authors are all older british christian women and so the way starclan is written is like undoubtedly that.
The main religion in the series is extremely catholic coded. Most clan cats believe in Starclan and the Dark Forest(or heaven and hell). There is a set of rule they must uphold and follow, where following them leads to heaven and breaking them leads to hell. Their religious leaders are sworn to celibacy, and the punishments that "code breakers"(or cats who break the rules) face are extremely similar to situations people with religious trauma have gone through.

it’s time for another one of my patented Unnecessarily Long Silt Verses Metas! the subject of this one is: i just relistened to episode 4, because it’s probably my favorite episode in the whole series, and now i have just so many questions. so!
worldbuilding questions:
what is the generally accepted attitude toward queerness in-universe? i initially thought it was sort of a juno-steel-esque world where we assume everybody’s just chill with it. it’s never remarked upon that the farmer has a husband in ep3, and everyone respects Vaughn’s pronouns in the professional world. but this episode seems to trouble that a little, since Carpenter’s aromanticism is not understood or respected by Todd, as well as a whole line of other people. so what’s the overarching consensus?
how complex are prayer marks, on average? ive been picturing them as looking like the tsv logo. but in this episode, we learn that a prayer mark on the elk corpse is a triangle, three lines, and a circle. maybe prayer marks look more like those six figures on the internal hexagon of the logo?
do cell phones exist in the world of tsv?? it seems like Carpenter has no way of contacting Faulkner to get him to pick her up early. and toward the end, Charity asks Gareth if there’s a landline in the spooky house, implying that they would need it to call for help. also, in earlier episodes, we have our main two having to use a hotel pay phone to call Mason. so im realizing that cell phones probably aren’t common, at the very least.
(the discord server i’m in took that information, plus the fact that emails do exist as of episode 8, and suggested that tsv is just set in a really fucked up version of the 90’s complete with tracksuits and butterfly hair clips. do with that as you will.)
thematic questions:
there’s a lot of similarity between the way Carpenter describes the faith of Pendas’ Slake and the way she describes the Trawlerman. she describes the first snare she finds as “The wire is wound like a fishing lure,” she talks about the twin faces of the elk-saint in the same way as the twin faces of the Trawlerman, and she tells us that her blood from the chase “Runs like a river.” so uh what’s that about??? also, she was seeking for a river cult when she found this. which is clearly different, but has a lot of uncanny echoes. so what’s that about??????
this might not be intentional, but this episode is the first of two times we hear bridges associated with romance. Todd propositions Carpenter on a bridge, and in the next episode, Hayward rambles about a cult of romantic couples and locks on a bridge. not sure if there’s anything there, but if the motif keeps happening in the future, i may have to look a little closer.
do snare dogs count as saints or angels of Charity’s faith? the elk of birch and bone is clearly a saint, since that’s a transformation. but were the snare dogs once people, too? or are they like the crab dog sentinel that Faulkner describes as an angel in episode 8?
either way, it’s very interesting to me how differently Charity interacts with them. there’s a ton of fear in how Carpenter and Faulkner engage with saints of their faith, and the angel actively decks Faulkner the moment he fumbles the canvass. but the snare dogs are described as nuzzling around Charity in almost affection. not sure what the difference is, but it feels interesting.
thoughts on Carpenter’s faith:
she describes herself and her river as “lonely” over and over again. she’s the only one to describe it like that, everyone else sees it as full of creatures and life! but she can’t see that aspect of it, only the wrath and destruction—she can’t imagine it not being like her.
(that’s why it’s interesting that hope comes when she sees Faulkner and knows she’s not alone at the end—the line “I’ve been seen” says it all. not sure how she’s gonna reconcile that in the long run.)
there’s this banger of a line that she drops when she talks about Todd thinking that she rejected him because of her faith: “As if faith had anything to do with who I was. With what I wanted, and didn’t want, my life to become.” which, like. that’s specifically in reference to her aromanticism but also like. Carpenter that is a very loaded statement. can you imagine Faulkner saying something like that???
actually it’s interesting—Faulkner very much loses himself in his faith, whereas Carpenter keeps a very distinct handle on who she is and what she thinks and wants out of this whole deal. so her faith is very different, because she’s such an individualist, and sometimes her stubborn insistence on Her Way bumps up against what the organized cult says. her faith really doesn’t influence what she wants out of the world. it’s kinda the other way around.
she burns her copy of the Silt Verses at the end. you guys. she burns her holy book. while praying. what the fuck. that’s iconic. but also what the fuck.
stupid questions:
how tf is Carpenter walking in any episodes after this??? she twists her ankle until there’s a crunch, and there’s a chunk taken out of her leg???? ma’am you shouldn’t be able to stand on that for a WHILE that’s probably at least a second degree rolled ankle i fear for your ligaments
how tf does a jaw look like a snare. how. a snare is like a noose of wire. how does that WORK
Carpenter was a lure for the Trawlerman’s faith???? sorry??? reminder that lures are: “Sweet-faced young acolytes who are sent out into the world, to hand out the flowers, whisper kind enticements, and lead the faithless into the sacrificial grounds”?????? i can not imagine that went well for Grumpy McCrow over here
(actually... could that be related to Todd and his ilk only seeing her as what they wanted her to be, wanting to find their meaning in her? maybe she took advantage of people willfully misunderstanding her, just like she takes advantage of people telling her their life stories. hmm. someone write a fic.)
im severely asexual, but after listening to Carpenter’s voice and cadences this whole episode—is this what sexy means??? i think i finally understand what sexy means. bless.

sup it's cameron from the discord how do you rank all the starkid musicals?
Oof tricky!
1) Starship bc im in love with Bug and the music slaps! The premise of it is so sweet, and some of the characters are a little 2D but the main ones are so relatable and fun. Also youve got tootsie and megagirls standout romance, and like denise said its a musical for dreamers, which i love. also the sets and the puppet characters are amazing are you kidding me?? Oh my god!!! THE PUPPETS!!!!!!! Its so special aaaaah god
2) TGWDLM bc i just think its rly high quality and all the components of it work rly well together! i enjoy it greatly, the plot is so fun and it balances jokes and emotions so well. The characters are all A++ and its a really enjoyable watch!! Ive seen it so many times and it never gets old
3) AVPM series because its just so iconic, and i cant pick a fav out of the 3. Theyre not the highest quality musicals but theyre So enjoyable to watch and have so many amazing treasured characters lol, and theyre funny as Fuck
4) Trail to oregon bc its a v fun, hilarious musical! I love the audience participation, i love the jokes, the characters r funny and the songs r all so nice i love to sing along to them
5) black friday bc its v high quality and i do love it but its not..my favourite? I feel like maybe i just haven't had long enough to obsess over it like i have the others. Points for the amazing lighting, camerawork n music tho, that stuff was all incredible. The acting was also amazing, and it was a lot darker and emotional than the other musicals, which i can appreciate even if i set a bit of a heavy vibe for me. The characters were all very individual and interesting too!
5) Spies Are Forever bc....well i just love it, we've got that lgbt rep and its quite unique! I love the character growth we see in all the characters and i likr the historical aspect of it. the villains are very good too ;) and like. The first time i listened i wasjt too sure abt the music but now i Love it. Also its probably only musical that made me cry. (ik it's tcb but im counting it)
6) Twisted. Another very high quality musical! I can appreciate how good it is, its not my personal fav otherwise itd rank higher but its very good in a lot of aspects. It's cool to see the 'villains' pov and its very funny
7) Firebringer. V quirky lil musical, the music is good but it doesnt rly stand out to me like it does in other musicals. Love the characters n plot tho! The costumes r also v good, and the set design, and the relationships between characters.
8) holy musical b@man. its never been my fav but batman and superman are very funny characters. the songs arent all my fav but i do quite like some of em! generally imo tho the characters arent quite as likeable as the other musicals, tho i do love batman and supermans rivalry to friendship
9) me and my dick. its a little weird and the plot is... Strange but joey and dick are funny, and joey and sally r quite cute. Its not great quality but i don't mind it and some of the songs r quite good!
10) Ani. I just....dont really remember anything from ani lmao i watched it a few months ago but it didnt rly stand out at all. I know it was quite funny tho, esp jar jar binks, moff tarkin and obi wan kenobi. Also joe walker ran in a crop top once so points for that hkdnfjf

general information : formerly faunahymn. so , if anything seems familiar , that’s why. gaea lysimachia is an original character and while she had originally been made for the ffvx verse , i decided to make her more general because i had certain people only that i wrote with in that verse. that and i have so many other verses , it was good for me to just make her indie and fandomless.
i. activity. i stress myself out a lot over getting things out on time and again, here i am, attempting to get my act together when it comes to activity. this blog is going to be queue - based and what that means for me is that most replies and asks will be thrown into my queue. update: because of how busy i am, i have decided that even things for my mains and my exclusives will be thrown into my queue. i haven’t decided how i am going to set up my cue but i am leaning toward posts at eight hour intervals: two text posts and one photo.
ii. discord. i primarily use discord to scream about things ( can also be read as plot ) and to share things with my writing partners. i write on there as well and have a number of discord - only muses. will i make a writing server? one day. for the moment, though, i prefer conversations to take place there rather than in tumblr ims. i will ask you for yours probably as soon as possible and will not be offended if you do the same.
iii. formatting. i will try to format to match the reply of my partner. starters and asks will be written in the small size with spacing. update: there is a possibility that i will be redoing my icons or at least making icons in different shapes, such as long and vertical. we will simply have to see.
iv. shipping. when i think of shipping, the first thing that comes to mind are romantic ships, though i totally understand it can cover other relationships as well. the fact is, gaea is in love with love. she falls easily and her loyalty has definitely gotten her in trouble. i will never force ship. i encourage people to send in romantic memes to test the waters. i’ve gotten to a point where i think we should all be free to admit what we want with no shame. if you ship it, come to me. or send in a meme. all relationships are important here, though. so all ideas are welcome.
v. content. you can definitely expect to find mature themes here. and probably triggering content consider i don’t have any triggers and i do love dark themes. triggers are formatted in tags as : ‘tw: ________‘ , ‘tw ________‘ and ‘ _______ tw.‘ i look at everyone’s rules before i contact them and look for triggers and do my best to keep everyone’s in mind. i may make a list of them as well. but if i end up missing something or forgetting something , please slap me across the face and let me know. i want everyone to be comfortable on their blogs. mature themes will also include smut , which i for the most part will not place beneath read mores.
update, june 9th: this blog contains mentions of and the discussion of forced prostitution, dub and noncon, domestic abuse, fucked up family dynamics ( not incest ), unsafe and unhealthy bdsm practices and depression / low self - esteem. again, my trigger warning formatting is above for you to blacklist what you need to.
vi. godmodding. partners that i feel comfortable with and who i feel know gaea are allowed to do whatever they want with gaea ( basically mains and ships ) and don’t need to ask. there’s a difference between godmodding and moving things along and sometimes it’s hard to know where you are. you can always ask if you have an idea in mind and want to make sure it’s okay. chances are likely you will also be told to do you , boo boo.
vii. memes. i have a problem. between my two archives, i have at least two hundred. i may bring some of them over here. you are always free to send any in. i’ll be honest with you if i can’t come up with anything. but i love doing starters based on memes and will never be upset when i get one ( unless it’s angst and that’s just because i’m a sensitive soul ). if you reblog a meme from me , please at least send on in. i’m very serious about this. if you don’t want to, at least reblog from the source. update: the game hasn’t changed; i still might bring some of those asks over. however, i’ve noticed the new trend to make asks into new posts and i am here for it.
vii. drama. new rule. i try very hard to keep my blog a safe space for myself and for others. i don’t reblog call - outs and i don’t get in the middle of things. i do, unfortunately, have my own little issues. nova ( @mysericordia ) and i used to write together but are no longer on speaking terms. once upon a time she said that gaea and her oc temp were too similar. she is now using bey as a face claim and i just want to be clear: i am not her. she is not me. i would never ask any of you to stop writing with her but just know there’s some tension there. i don’t have a monopoly on bey but to decide to change a face claim after years... to mine... there’s tension.
viii. mun. my name is djaq! twenty - five year old african american cis female, going by the pronouns she and her. i have a job working in a warehouse which means that between about 9:30am - 8:00pm it’s radio silence, unless i’m on my lunch break. i started writing when i was twelve on myspace and i’ve been doing it on different platforms since. i don’t have a big preference when it comes to genres, which is why i have so many verses. i look forward to talking to you! <3

i'm new to the who, all i've listened to is quadrophenia and the odd song here & there off other albums. i know the most basic basics but other than that ? nothing. so what are some fun facts? interesting stories? important things fans should know? idk tell me what you'd say to a new fan
WHOOPS MY APOLOGIES I didnt see this till now, thank you so much for your ask!!! I’ll put this under a read more cause itll probably end up being very long, I hope I can get you more interested in them
its good youve listened to that much even, i hadnt listened to ANYTHING when i first got into them except like, the Iconic Songs (who are you, baba o riley, my generation, wont get fooled again, and id never even listened to those purposely i only knew em from just general knowledge), it actually took me quite a while to listen to their actual music cause i was more interested in the story of the band and its members for the first while
theyre one of the bands with the most interesting stories so i hope i can get you as interested in that aspect of them as i was when i first got into them (and still am, i go mad for any new stories i can hear about em, and love hearing different perspectives of stories ive heard before)
this is goin to be an utter mess i apologise, there are MANY many interesting stories but some off the top of my head are uh… well theres the iconic keith moons 21st birthday where he allegedly drove a lincoln continental into the swimming pool (this turned out to be a story keith made up though just for shock value)
that party was still amazing though, keith had actually left early cause hed chipped his tooth and was at some emergency dentist, it was mostly the rest of the guests at the party that wreaked havoc, eg just trashing the place, spraying fire extinguishers over cars in the car park that stripped all their paint, fairly sure it didnt end till the guards were called
i actually dont think any of the who were involved after keith left at all. john had gone with keith to the dentist, pete had gone to bed, not sure what roger was up to honestly but probably something the same as pete, despite this the who were Allegedly banned from holiday inns for life (but from what ive heard stayed in another one the next week and numerous times after)
heres another interesting story about him thats a bit lesser known, ill link it cause ive posted it before and also to save space
thinking about it, most stories that are widely told are to do with keith.. hes definitely the most interesting member of the band, in the words of uh. Many People hes just like no one else youve ever met, a very interesting character.. hes probably the main force behind my interest in the who in the beginning, i loved learning about his life the most (although that said i havent got a ‘favourite member’ of the band, i think theyre all incredibly cool and interesting and i love learning about all of them)
SORRY THIS IS already getting really long and i havent even scratched the surface… ill just say like, the whole band is full of really interesting characters, and its really interesting learning about all of them… like keith just for being absolutely different from everyone else, how above it all he really just did all his Wild Antics to make people laugh and be happy, seemingly at the cost of his own mental health (its believed he had bpd, and also obviously struggled with alcohol abuse and drugs too) (its more complicated than that though obviously but there is already a whole book delving into that subject and i fucking adore it if you want to read it, its called dear boy: the life of keith moon)
petes also incredibly interesting cause he was like.. the driving force of the band i suppose youd say. wrote (mostly) all the songs, came up with the stories behind tommy and quadrophenia (and lifehouse, which was so complicated no one could understand it, leading to him eventually having a breakdown and having to scrap the project, the songs on it eventually became whos next) its also really interesting (and quite sad) learning about his childhood and also his own struggles with mental health/alcohol (and drugs, hard drugs moreso in the 80s)
ill admit straight away that i dont know much about roger compared to the other members of the band, but hes interesting in his own way as well like, hes almost the complete opposite of the other members of the band in terms of alcohol/drug abuse, i dont think he ever went near drugs (except for a while in the early 60s, i believe), im not sure how he was with the drink but nowhere near as bad as the rest of the band probably. i know my dad likes him a lot cause hes a farmer (bought his farm in the early 70s with the wealth brought by the tommy album) which is something i can admire too seeing as im also a farmer although on a much smaller scale. hes also seemingly a really nice person (despite his love for a good punch up, in the early who days at least.) like hes very down to earth, working class, not all high and mighty like.. just very nice to listen to. would be excellent for a chat.
and johns interesting just cause hes a complete fucking mystery. according to pete he had no addictions except like. shopping.. he was called the “quiet one” even though he was far from it, just probably didnt really run his mouth (hardly ever spoke on stage but when he did it was always fantastic. eg him telling the crowd to “shuddup” in a death growl when theyre chanting for bell boy before a live recording of behind blue eyes) also he was probably the closest member to keith, went clubbing with him (a quote from keith is “I go to clubs with John. He’s big,”) a lot and often joined in with him when he was smashing up/exploding bits of hotel. also in terms of being an utter mystery like, theres not an awful lot known about his life, for example apparently he was a freemason “all his life” and pete never found out till after he died

general information : formerly faunahymn. so , if anything seems familiar , that’s why. gaea lysimachia is an original character and while she had originally been made for the ffvx verse , i decided to make her more general because i had certain people only that i wrote with in that verse. that and i have so many other verses , it was good for me to just make her indie and fandomless.
i. activity. i stress myself out a lot over getting things out on time and again, here i am, attempting to get my act together when it comes to activity. this blog is going to be queue - based and what that means for me is that most replies and asks will be thrown into my queue and replies and asks for my mains will probably come out anytime i please. i’ve been trying to find some kind of balance but the truth is, i’m not patient and i like being organized while also being able to do what i want. my queue will be running from 12:00am on at four hour intervals.
ii. discord. i primarily use discord to scream about things ( can also be read as plot ) and to share things with my writing partners. i write on there as well and have a number of discord - only muses. will i make a writing server? one day. for the moment, though, i prefer conversations to take place there rather than in tumblr ims. i will ask you for yours probably as soon as possible and will not be offended if you do the same.
iii. formatting. i will format to match the reply of my partner. starters and asks will be written in the small size with spacing and i now that i’m getting better at making things, i’m good with using square or long icons. i also have an animated face claim now so i’m utterly open for business across the board.
iv. shipping. when i think of shipping, the first thing that comes to mind are romantic ships, though i totally understand it can cover other relationships as well. the fact is, gaea is in love with love. she falls easily and her loyalty has definitely gotten her in trouble. i will never force ship. i encourage people to send in romantic memes to test the waters. i’ve gotten to a point where i think we should all be free to admit what we want with no shame. if you ship it, come to me. or send in a meme. all relationships are important here, though. so all ideas are welcome.
v. content. you can definitely expect to find mature themes here. and probably triggering content consider i don’t have any triggers and i do love dark themes. triggers are formatted in tags as : ‘tw: ________‘ , ‘tw ________‘ and ‘ _______ tw.‘ i look at everyone’s rules before i contact them and look for triggers and do my best to keep everyone’s in mind. i may make a list of them as well. but if i end up missing something or forgetting something , please slap me across the face and let me know. i want everyone to be comfortable on their blogs. mature themes will also include smut , which i for the most part will not place beneath read mores.
