This is a random tip, but if you want a deeper voice but are having trouble with consistently keeping it low when you're speaking, check that you aren't subconsciously tensing your throat. This especially goes for those who have trouble speaking (such as semi-verbal folk) who may have learned to ignore the amount of effort they put into speaking.
This is a little complicated, so I'm going to heavily simplify things, but. The pitch of your voice depends on your vocal cords, which are located in your throat. Tensing your throat also causes those vocal cords to tense up, which means your voice comes out higher. Relaxing your throat does the opposite, which makes your voice come out deeper. You don't need to teach yourself to keep your voice low, you just need to teach yourself to keep your throat relaxed, and your body will naturally lower your voice. (And if you want a higher voice, just switch it around and tense up your throat!) It can take a while to get used to, and may even feel like you're straining your voice at first, but rest assured, it's merely due to your body being unused to the practice, just like all other vocal practices beyond what a person typically does. Just don't purposefully strain your voice/hurt your throat by trying to force anything; voice training such as this can be uncomfortable at first, as it is unfamiliar, but it shouldn't become a source of pain. Remember to drink water frequently when first making this a habit to help your throat adjust, and you should be fine.
This has been random voice tips from *checks credentials* some random plural who takes voice lessons. Hope this helps someone out there.

BYF
The body/host is an adult and all of us are as well except for Oliver
We are a traumagenic system
Some of the things we may post may be darker in tone or depressing, but we’ll try not to post gore (that would mostly be Will and the darker things would be Constantine and Blurry).
If you don’t know who’s fronting due to one of us forgetting to use our tag, don’t be afraid to ask! The only person you shouldn’t really interact with at all is Blurry unless you tread very carefully.
Blaine and Constantine are the two who front the most besides the host, and chances are if see one of us posting, it’s probably Blaine.
Panty is EXTREMELY flirty, however she’s not as promiscuous or sex obsessed as she was in canon so please don’t send sexual comments or things to/about her. Innuendos are fine though.
If you’re curious about any of us or us as a system in general or the host, don’t be hesitant to send us an ask or a message! We’re (except for Blurry) always open for questions!
We have a simply plural and if you want to add us, just message us privately and we’ll tell you our username!
There will be triggering content here, and we will try our best to tag it appropriately.
Asks are on, as are anon asks. This could get turned off at any point if we see fit.
Do not reblog!

OOC : Rules and Notes
RULES. I only have seven. Lucky number.
1. Be kind. 2. No bigotry on my watch! Outta here with that shit! 3. No godmodding, please. 4. Don't try to fill in backstory for me, or try to take over my interpretation of the character. Yes, I've had people do this. It's a dick move. Don't do it. 5. I'm open to interactions without plotting, but if you want to get into shipping or other Important things, please, for the love of all the stars in the sky, talk to me first. 6. Communication is key!! If you're unhappy or want to change something, talk to me! Even if you just want to chat :D 7. Unless you're a canonical family member/lover, don't just pop up playing that angle without even consulting me first. My John is a different one than yours, and won't have the same relationships and feelings as yours.
bio link, tag list, and potential triggers under the cut.

Shout-out to all those who really do need to keep track of system stuff to be able to manage and stay healthy (as a system or in general). A lot of plural advice posts I see advocate for letting go of the pressure for always knowing who's in front, or when you switch, or whatever – which, for the record, is good advice... for the systems who feel pressured and are stressing themselves out over figuring out every little thing. But for some of us, it's not pressure – it's how we manage our conditions.
Our system needs to know how many headmates are fronting at any given time so we can correctly identify and manage the issues that come with too few or too many in front. We also try to keep track of who we are and who's fronting, as letting ourselves drift without identity for too long typically ends up hurting more than helping. It's not wrong to need to keep track of such things in order to function – it's just one way of taking care of your mental health. You're not setting yourself back if this is how you take care of yourself.
Everyone's recovery, methods of self-care, and ways that they manage life in general will vary from person to person (or system to system). It's alright if you need some organizational structure to do what's best for you

I haven't seen people explicitly talk about this before, but there's a couple different perspectives one can have in their innerworld. Some have a first-person POV, and see the innerworld as if through their own eyes, like one does in the outer world. Some have a third-person POV, and see the innerworld through an external perspective that's fixed to their form, like one sees their player character and surroundings in many video games. There are even some who don't have a specific form to see through or around in any way, and simply "see" the innerworld as needed, in ways hard to describe but that may be comparable to a third-person omniscient POV. There's no "right" or "wrong" way to envision or see your innerworld. It's just that most guides for and discussion about it center around a first-person perspective, which seems to be the most common perspective. Don't worry if your perspective falls outside of that, and don't worry if your system has a mix of perspectives. It's perfectly normal and alright.

Lots of systems have already talked about how it can be funny to have protectors, caregivers, etc. who don't fit the expected "look" of those roles. But what is also funny... is when someone gets adopted into a family dynamic within your system that doesn't look like it would go together. Some guy turned up and started acting like a dad to one of us so we've officially decided he's also the dad of the rest of this group of siblings. Four for one special. And that special includes a non-human fascinated with being in a human body, two random teenagers (of very different flavors), and a subsystem who have decided to be counted as one headmate whenever it comes to their in-sys family/familial relationships. None of these folks look like they would naturally be family except in the wildest of fantasy TV shows.

Reading fanfiction of your source as a source-divergent fictive is. Weird. I have no idea if what we're reading is in-line with canon characterization or not, but it wouldn't matter either way, because it still sounds nothing like me regardless. I have serious concerns about this man and yet I am watching him as one does a documentary of a kids' show they've never watched. All I need now is popcorn.

I have no idea if we asked or thought of asking or asked someone else but are there any factive blogs that are active? We've seen a lot that stopped posting 2-3 years ago and we follow so many fictive blogs but I feel bad our factives don't have anything
There don't seem to be a lot of factive blogs out there, sadly! We've seen a post about someone considering making a funnier-as-a-factive blog, and there's yourfaveisafactive (which hasn't updated in a few months but theoretically might be active, considering its sister blog, yourfaveisafictive, is posting regularly?), but we don't know of any others, unfortunately

sometimes you get that one Headmate that just doesn't put up with people's bull, but they behave because they don't want to stress the rest of the system by making tough decisions. its me, im headmates.
Hi headmates, I'm dad. I think a lot of our members can relate to this, honestly.
[PT: Hi headmates, I'm dad. / End PT]

If anyone gets the uncanny valley effect from our blog over the next few hours, just know we ever-so-slightly adjusted our background color and might adjust it more. It's not your brain playing tricks on you, it's the color being a teeny-tiny bit different from the shade of orange it was before.

The post about not noticing switches is gaining notes again. I'm not sure what it is about that post that makes bloggers occasionally swarm it with reblogs only for it to then practically disappear from my notifs for a while, but it's kind of a fun pattern to watch. Wish I had popcorn for it.

Underrated trope in plural stories is when a character wildly misunderstands a particular aspect of plurality, only to discover their plurality through that particular aspect of it. And I don't mean a character just not realizing that they're experiencing something distinctly plural even after knowing the word for that thing, though that's also a fun trope to read. I mean a character learning the term for a particular plural experience and wildly misunderstanding it, or only ever seeing the term in contexts that misrepresent what it's actually about, and then walking right into a distinctly plural experience that can be conveniently named by that exact term in its proper definition. It can be both funny and angsty depending on how you want to spin it, maybe even with a side of giving any pluralphobia/biases that may have led to this misunderstanding a good kick in the pants, which is, of course, the best combo for tropes like these. Can't get enough of it.
