AN: So this one is a little shorter but that’s only because I would’ve had an awkward break otherwise. The next part will be up as well though so enjoy
Warnings: Language at most
I had to know what people were saying about me, so the next morning I asked Mara to give me some pointers but ignored everyone else blowing up my phone. I’d deal with this the same way I’d dealt with the issues before that, by myself.
Yogi could tell that something was up as well, staying close by on our morning walk and then following my every step after that, even nosing at me from time to time.
The pictures of Tyler and I that were circling the blogs were actually kind of cute, even I had to admit that. There was one from the aquarium that I liked most with me leaning against his side while his hand was resting on my lower back, his big fingers easily spanning from one side to the other. I remembered the tingling feeling his touch caused and not for the first time I wished that people had just let us be in peace.
You cursed at the two girls in the front of the video that had caused this entire shitstorm, even if they seemed too oblivious to notice anything around them. They were sitting at the edge of the pool and the camera focused on them before slowly panning out towards the rest of the area. That’s when you could clearly see Tyler with me wrapped around him, his tattoos making him easy to recognize for anyone. I watched myself smile up at him giddily while reaching out to run my hand through his hair before finally joining my arms around his neck.
The video ended then, thankfully not showing our moment that we’d had by the waterfall but the damage was already done. I could see why people thought there was something going on between us, hell from looking at the ‘evidence’ I was almost convinced myself. The hike with the dogs, the clinging to each other in the pool, the constant touching in the aquarium and lastly the shopping run for furniture all pointed towards something more that was hard to dismiss.
“At least I look good in those pictures”, I muttered to myself because if there was one thing worse than having such personal moments displayed to everyone, it would be looking bad so everyone could make fun of me.
After a light breakfast I finally dared to face Instagram. After tapping on the icon the app lagged for a second under the amount of notifications pouring in at once. I hadn’t been on the site since the aquarium and couldn’t believe the amount of traffic on my profile.
My message requests were overflowing and my follower count had climbed up quite a bit in the last 24 hours. People had even started commenting under my more recent posts, asking if I was Tyler’s girlfriend or insulting me.
I couldn’t believe the amount of people interested in this supposed relationship. For a while I contemplated deleting all of those stupid comments but I was pretty sure that new ones would show up anyway so there really was no point.
Some people in my messages were actually concerned about me ‘wasting myself on a player like Tyler’ but most of the messages were just downright mean, some even implying that I was a gold digger. I was pretty confident, especially proud of my body after countless hours at the gym, but reading those messages was harder than I’d imagined. I didn’t respond to a single one but didn’t delete them either.
Thankfully I was used to taking heat and I wouldn’t exactly describe myself as sensitive when confronted with insults. People had given me shit after I took down Flappy Bird and I’d even received multiple death threats, but at least the hate had been about something that I’d done and not because of who I was associated with or the way I looked. I took great pride in my work and people mentioning my name for something else besides my accomplishments hurt my ego more than I’d like to admit.
To distract myself from all this drama I put together everything that I’d bought for the office the day before, enjoying the mindless work for the next few hours, but I knew that eventually I had to face my situation so I looked at my phone.
Tyler had texted me earlier to see how I was doing and Katie had reached out to me as well. My girls had let me know that they’d listen if needed and then proceeded to send cute animal pictures for me to look at, knowing full well by now that I usually preferred to be left alone to deal with my problems.
Before I could even think about what to respond to Tyler, my phone announced an incoming call from Mia. It was weird to hear her voice again after close to three years but we instantly fell back into our old patterns, chatting easily before deciding to grab dinner together tomorrow. I was pretty confident that I could convince her to come work with me and at this point I couldn’t wait to be productive again.
I let everyone know that I was doing alright and then decided to go on a run, something that always helped me to think.
I changed and put a leash on Yogi, my feet pounding on the pavement soon. I played some music for the rhythm but kept it low so I could clear my head.
Setting one foot in front of the other I tried my best to see the situation from an objective standpoint. It was a fact that the damage was already done and no amount of denying the rumors would stop them if I wanted to keep seeing Tyler. I didn’t want to stop seeing him either, not willing to sacrifice our connection at this point anymore.
The run had the intended purpose and I soon came to multiple realizations.
Tyler was a famous pro athlete which meant that him and media attention were kind of a package deal and maybe, just maybe I should just get over my bruised ego. As I kept thinking about the issue at hand I realized that I kind of had no other option than to put up with the shit coming at me.
I pushed myself until I felt like my lungs weren’t getting enough oxygen and then circled back to my house at a slower pace, basking in the runner’s high to plan out the rest of the day before showering and getting to work.
I’d realized that Katie was probably the most suited to give me some tips about my current struggle so I called her. She didn’t answer at first but then she called back as I was pulling out ingredients for some lemon cakes, suddenly in the mood for some baking.
“Sorry I didn’t see you calling, we just got back from this team get-together. Tyler was deep in thought all afternoon and kept checking his phone by the way”, she greeted me and I smiled at her attempt to make me feel better. I didn’t like him not being in a good mood because of me but it showed that he cared at least.
“Yeah about that, I need some advice from you…”, I started and then asked how she dealt with people thinking that they had the right to judge her based on her relationship with Jamie. I knew that she had a private Instagram profile now and while that might deter some hate, I guessed that she probably still got lots of stupid comments.
Going private was not an option for me, as I used my media presence to pull in new jobs even if most of my posts had nothing to do with my work.
“I know me saying just ignore it is stupid because it seems impossible, but trust me it isn’t. It also doesn’t help that people think you’re with a player that has one of the biggest fanbases among the league. People probably already looked at your profile as soon as he started following you, some are that obsessed”, she said and I flinched at the thought of people following Tyler’s every move to this extent.
“Do you not care at all that people basically treat you as an accessory to Jamie?”, I asked her the question that had been bugging me all day.
“I try to look at it differently. At hockey events I’m simply there to support him and I’m more than willing to take a step back in those cases. For everything else you just have to remember that while the fans may only focus on him, you’re the most important person to him so it doesn’t really matter what everyone else thinks”, she explained and I understood what she was trying to say, even if our situations were different.
She told me about how she struggled with the attention at first, something I at least had some experience with. Only now it was for a different reason but I decided to just ignore that fact, drawing from years of practice at ignoring insults.
“You’ll actually get a lot of nice messages too because hockey has really supportive fans and those are always great to read. If I were you I wouldn’t delete the stupid messages though, new ones just keep coming either way. Don’t give the haters the time of your day and just let them pile up in your requests. Sometimes I respond to the nice ones but mostly I enjoy them in silence, that’s up to you though”, she said and I decided that I’d probably handle things the same way. I had to check my requests for work opportunities but I could just skip over everything else.
“You just have to stay calm amidst all of the crazy stuff. Things will get even worse when you two officially start dating so be prepared”, she continued and I couldn’t help bun notice how she said when, not if but I didn’t correct her.
“Thanks for everything Katie. I kind of reached that way of thinking over the course of the day but it still feels good to hear it out loud”, I sighed as I finally put the cake into the oven.
“Don’t worry about it, we’ve all been there before and supported each other through the ups and downs. By the way, some other better halves and I are going out on Saturday, just the girls, and your presence has been requested as well.”
I debated her offer for a second, knowing full well that I wasn’t a ‘better half’ like the rest of them but ultimately decided that I needed to make new friends either way.
“Of course I’ll come, thanks for asking. Just text me when and where.”
We continued talking for a while but then she had to leave because Jamie wanted to start on dinner. I decided to finally talk with Tyler and texted him to see if I could come over.
Tyler: Of course, I’m in the backyard with the guys so bring Yogi too if you want
He then proceeded to text me the code to his front gate, which surprised me. It wasn’t the code to his house but a big step nevertheless. I decided to bring along some lemon cakes and then made my way over, Yogi excitedly pulling ahead.
I entered the code and made my way around the house towards his backyard. Tyler hadn’t noticed me yet and I could see him spitting something into a bush.
“Well that’s mildly disgusting”, I announced my presence flatly and he jumped a little before turning towards me. As soon as I let Yogi off his leash he ran over to Gerry, greeting his new best friend before chasing him around the yard.
“Sorry, bad habit”
“I think you just mispronounced ‘addiction’”, I commented, knowing exactly that chewing tobacco wasn’t any better than smoking it. I reached up with my free hand to hug him and reveled in the feeling of being wrapped in his arms. It had started to cool down already but he was radiating heat through his t shirt.
“I brought a piece offering and don’t worry, it’s diet-friendly”, I said, holding out the box for him to take.
“Why would you need to make a peace offering?”
He looked at me with his eyebrows crinkled in confusion, a look that made him look young and innocent.
“Because I shut you out and basically ignored you all day”
“You don’t have to apologize for that, I know it’s kind of a lot to be caught up in this shit so I don’t blame you for needing some time to sort everything out. If anyone needs to say sorry it’s me for dragging you into this.” He looked at me sheepishly, lifting his snapback to run his hand through his hair before putting it on backwards.
“It’s definitely been a crazy week since we met”, I admitted with a small laugh but I wasn’t mad anymore. It would take some getting used to but I was willing to try.
“Has it really only been a week?”, he asked and I knew exactly what he meant. So much had happened already and I was feeling closer to him that I should after just seven days but yet here we were.
“Are you hungry? I was about to make dinner.” I gave him a skeptical look that made my doubt in his cooking skills, or lack thereof clear.
“Hey I know how to feed myself. I’m not as good as you but I get by with a few easy standard meals”, he protested and I had to laugh at the cute pout he was now sporting.
“Lead the way then. I’ll watch you and we can have the cakes for dessert.” At least one part of dinner was safe that way.
I watched him prepare some pasta and was baffled when I discovered that he barely used any spices, despite having a full spice rack in his pantry. With a huff I grabbed some of them and then proceeded to explain to him when to use what, the pasta smelling more delicious by the minute.
“This tastes like an entirely different meal”, he exclaimed after I was finally satisfied with the result. He really had a lot to learn but at least he was enthusiastic about trying new things.
“I’ll make a cook out of you yet but it is a mystery how you could survive up to this point by yourself”, I teased and he laughed.
“That’s thanks to the nutritionists that supervise us, otherwise I’d eat like shit all the time.”
Tyler loved the lemon cakes, explaining that they were ‘just the right amount of sweet’, which was due to the apple sauce I’d used in place of regular sugar.
We settled on the couch with the dogs surrounding us, some sports show quietly playing in the background. He was spread out on his back and I was tucked into his side, my head resting on his shoulder. I was glad that it didn’t take a lengthy conversation for him to understand my point of view on the situation, that certainly made things easier. As if he was reading my thoughts he said:
“You know we can talk about what happened. The fans are a big part of my life and I know that they can go a little overboard sometimes but I can’t change that. I’m still sorry that people are giving you shit now though.”
“Really it’s okay. I think I just needed to wrap my head around things. I get that the attention and you are a package deal and if having haters is what it takes to keep you around, I’ll gladly do it.”
He smiled softly and opened his arms for me to fully snuggle up against his side, his arm now wrapped around my back.
“I’m glad that you’re willing to put up with it”, he murmured against my head and I smiled. We’d only just met and yet here we were. I’d never felt anything like this before, although to be fair I hadn’t really tried either. Besides the obvious attraction that was between us, there was also something deeper. He didn’t just make me happy, he understood me without needing long conversations or years of friendship beforehand.
Every moment I spent with him I could feel my resolve against not sleeping with him weaken. He’d been nothing but sweet to me but while I deemed myself a good judge of character I knew that one week wasn’t enough time. We needed to be stable enough for a friends with benefits situation to not get awkward or we both had to want something more. Until I wasn’t sure where we stood there simply couldn’t be any sex, as hard as it may be sometimes.
The show was showing some football highlights and I soon grew tired of watching. Despite having lived in the States for quite a while now I still couldn’t understand the obsession with it. The games were slow and too long and there were too many commercial breaks in my opinion. I didn’t follow any teams and the only reason I regularly watched the Super Bowl was because of the parties and the food.
“This shouldn’t be allowed to call itself football, their feet rarely touch the ball. It should be throwball or something like that”, I huffed and I could feel Tyler’s chest rumble with laughter beneath my cheek. As a German there was only one football in my life and it was the one that was actually played with feet.
“Throwball sounds ridiculous.”
“Well football is a little ridiculous in itself so it would be fitting.”
“You should be glad that I’m Canadian or otherwise I would have to kick you out for insulting America’s favorite sport.” I knew that he wouldn’t do it either way, his arms wrapped so tightly around me that I wouldn’t be able to leave even if I wanted to.
“I’d like to see you try”, I teased and lifted my head to stick out my tongue at him.
“Are you sure you’re 25? I’m thinking more like five.”
“Five and a half actually if you have to ask.”
“Very funny.”
“I’m hilarious and you know it.”
Now he was actually trying to push me off the couch but I just wrapped my leg around his thighs and held on tightly so he had to try a different approach. I didn’t expect him to pick me up before throwing me back town and moving to hover over me however. I didn’t even get the chance to resist before he grabbed both of my hands in one of his. His other arm was boxing me in and he had now effectively rendered me defenseless below him. At this point our giggles had turned into pants, his probably from the effort of throwing me around and mine because I loved the way he was manhandling me.
I looked up to him through my lashes, my thoughts going to places I’d sworn I wouldn’t let them wander to anymore just minutes earlier. He looked down at me with an unreadable expression and I would’ve given anything to know what he was thinking in that moment.
For a few seconds neither of us moved but then the moment was ruined by Gerry, who probably wanted to be a part of the action, licking Tyler’s face.
“Ew dude what the fuck?”, he exclaimed, sitting up to push the dog away before wiping the slobber off his face. Now I had to giggle at his exasperated expression and moved to sit up as well.
“I should probably go either way, I know you have an early practice and it’s gotten kind of late.” I was actually just trying to prevent myself from jumping him but he didn’t need to know that.
“Here put my sweater on, it’s gotten pretty late and I don’t want you to get cold on the way home.”
He pulled off his sweater and I really tried not look at the skin that was exposed as his t shirt rid up with it but my horny brain caused me to fail. I didn’t even try to reason with him that a five-minute walk in the cold wouldn’t kill me because I knew that there was no point, once he set his mind on something there was no stopping him. I also really wanted to wear his sweater but I would never admit that.
I put the sweater on and reveled in his scent for a moment before getting up to grab Yogi’s things.
“Look at what you did buddy, you scared her off”, I could hear Tyler say quietly to Gerry and I was pretty sure that that wasn’t meant to reach my ears. A small smile crept on my face but I tried to not let anything on as I reached town to get Yogi ready to go.
“Thanks for dinner Tyler, your attempt wasn’t completely terrible”, I joked as we finally both stood in his front door.
“Thanks for the lemon cakes and the spice tutoring, I definitely still have a lot to learn though. And again I’m really sorry for what people are saying about you, they just don’t know you well enough to know that you’re actually amazing.” I could tell that he didn’t plan on letting that last part slip because his cheeks immediately turned pink which in turn made me blush as well.
I reached up to hug him before wishing him a good night and then making my way home, thoughts running wild until I finally managed to fall asleep.

We have sailed the Acid Sea and now know land is near – and with it all the fun a pirate could desire at Waterdog Port! Yarrrrr!
In other words, Pirate of Pugmire‘s Kickstarter has passed its funding goal, and now we’re headed towards some sweet Stretch Goals. Thanks to everyone who pledged so that we can get this companion volume to Pugmire and Monarchies of Mau printed and out into stores!
And if you haven’t yet had a chance to pledge, there are still a few awesome reward tiers left – some of which include having your pet illustrated as a pirate! – and the KS runs until Thursday. There’s a link below in the Blurbs! section for your convenience!

Leading in to our next Kickstarter campaign, today we were thrilled to reveal that we will be posting a Trinity Continuum: Aberrant webcomic starting tomorrow, Tuesday the 18th, here on the Onyx Path website!
The webcomic will run every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday for about six weeks, coinciding with the TC: Aberrant Kickstarter starting the first week in July.
We had the extreme pleasure of working with comic book writer extraordinaire Paul Jenkins, who has written so many amazing works for Marvel, DC, Dark Horse, including winning an Eisner award for writing the Inhumans for Marvel Knights, that we’ll let you all Google him rather than trying to list them all.
We’ll have more info on Paul, as well as awesome artist Doug Stambaugh, in the weeks to come as “You Are Not Alone.” rolls out. This is our very first webcomic, we are incredibly excited about it, and we hope it won’t be our last, and is designed to give a taste to new and long-time Aberrant fans of just what the world of Trinity Continuum: Aberrant is like.

Another announcement for today is that we’re incredibly happy to be working with the multi-talented Travis Legge as he leads the development of our upcoming Scarred Lands projects. Travis has already sat in with Eddy, Matt, and myself, as we whipped project ideas into a schedule, and now he’ll be pulling those ideas into actual books.
This doesn’t change how we’re handling the new Scarred Lands Creature Collection with our friend Jon Hodgson’s new company, Handiwork Games, and I actually was able to talk with Jon at UK Games Expo and we firmed up plans for the upcoming Kickstarter Jon will be running for the book. Expect amazing art, fantastic layout and usability, and the chance to pick Reward Tiers that allow backers to determine additional monsters to include in the book beyond those already planned.
We also talked with Chris and Matt from Modiphius while at UKGE about our ongoing Vampire 5th Edition projects. Everyone was excited at being able to work closely together on new V5 books – and that was before the recent Origins Award for Best RPG of the Year! Congrats to all involved!

How the Curse on Adam is Working Out
In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground;… Genesis 3:19
Whoever you are, upon the face of this earth, you will be faced with the reality of the curse on Adam. “In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread” There is no job or work on this earth that does not have this characteristic. The description, “sweating” speaks of toiling, struggling, labouring and suffering.
All things are full of labour; man cannot utter it: the eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing. Ecclesiastes 1:8
And he called his name Noah, saying, this same shall comfort us concerning our work and toil of our hands, because of the ground which the Lord hath cursed. Genesis 5:29
Work in this world can be classified in many ways: executive jobs, political jobs, construction jobs, architectural jobs, computer related jobs, spiritual jobs, administrative jobs and low-skill jobs. Whatever the classification and whatever the job, all work has the characteristics of toiling, suffering, struggling and labouring. If you look at the classification of jobs listed below, you will discover that no category of work has escaped the curse.
HOW THE CURSE HAS AFFECTED TWENTY TYPES OF WORK THAT EXIST TODAY
1. Managerial work: Presidents, Chief Executives, Managing Directors, Administrative Managers.
“In the sweat of thy face shall thou be a manager….” Presidents, chief executives, managing directors are in so many meetings and involved in so many discussions that they soon realize they have lost control of their own time. Indeed, chief executives can become bottlenecks in their own organizations because they are unable to find the time to take needed decisions. Managers are often isolated people with few friends in the organisation they work for. Most managers spend all their time and their life running these organisations that depend extensively on them. Managers and chief executives have so much stress that they have their own set of “executive illnesses”. For instance, diseases like stomach ulcers, high blood pressure, heart attacks are more associated with highly stressed executives.
2. Medical work: Doctors, dentists, pharmacists, nurses, paramedical staff, laboratory, radiology, computer and medical engineers.
“In the sweat of thy face shall thou be a doctor, dentist, pharmacist, nurse …” Medical workers are perhaps those who sweat more than anyone else. Medical doctors go to school for many years. They lose their friends whilst they are at school because they are glued to their books and have to pass many exams. After qualifying as doctors, they may study for another ten years in order to become specialists. After qualifying, they work for such long hours that they hardly get to go home to enjoy their salaries. Many doctors are forced to deal with death, bad news, sadness and sorrow on a daily basis. The other medical professions are equally stressful. All medical workers are in danger of contracting dangerous diseases like yellow fever, dengue fever, HIV, bird flu, hepatitis, Ebola and Zika virus. Truly, it is only in the sweat, struggle, toil, suffering, and labour of their lives that medical workers are eating bread!
3. Scientific work: Inventors, researchers, developers, astrophysicists, nuclear scientists.
“In the sweat of thy face shall thou be a researcher, developer, scientist…” Scientists are greatly stressed individuals because of the momentous value of the work they do. Thousands of hours go into research that often yields nothing. Many hours, many days are spent in fruitless research whose value may be seen only after the death of the researcher. There are many dangers of infections, explosions and accidents that threaten scientists.
4. Legal work: Judges, lawyers, paralegal workers. “In the sweat of thy face shall thou be a lawyer….”
Lawyers go to school for many years. They study, toil, struggle and suffer for years in school. They have to have very high grades in school. Many people who study Law are unable to qualify for the Bar, because they do not make the grade. After graduating, a lawyer struggles to develop a good reputation as a lawyer so that he can have a successful practice.
Many lawyers work in their firms till very late. Many young lawyers do not sleep much as they strive to climb the ladder in their law firm. There are many unsuccessful lawyers. Many lawyers have to do other jobs in order to survive. In the sweat of their face the lawyers are eating bread!
5. Educational work: Teachers, professors, lecturers, administrators of schools. “In the sweat of thy face shall thou be a teacher, professor, lecturer and administrator…” Teachers work hard and for long hours. You may not have to give your life for your teaching job but you might lose many other things. Disrespectful students, unappreciative parents, endless assignments, taking work home, low salaries and poverty are among the great difficulties that teachers face. In the sweat of their face teachers are earning low salaries and struggling to survive in this life.
6. Finance work: Bankers, traders, stockbrokers, actuaries. “In the sweat of thy face shall thou be a banker, trader, stockbroker and bank worker…”
Bank workers are known to struggle, toil and suffer with long hours of stressful work. They also have a lot of negative internal politics to deal with. There are many risks, debts, financial scandals and financial crises that stress bank workers out. Many bank workers are up to their necks in loans and mortgages. They are bound to their jobs and can never be free from their debts. In the sweat of their faces, these bank workers are earning high salaries and swimming in debt! How paradoxical!
7. Construction work: Architects, engineers, quantity surveyors, contractors, project managers.
“In the sweat of thy face shall thou be an architect, engineer, quantity surveyor, contractor and project manager…” The sweat in architecture starts in university where the students often have longer hours of work than others. Contractors and construction workers have some of the highest stress levels because of the need to meet targets. Other dangers of financial mismanagement and losses during construction give rise to much stress in the construction world. Construction work is one of the most stressful and expensive jobs. In the sweat of their faces, contractors and engineers are eating bread and breaking down under the stress involved.
8. Administrative work: Administrators, secretaries, data officers. “In the sweat of thy face shall thou be an administrator...”
Many administrative workers, data officers, secretaries and personal assistants struggle through life. Many of them are not appreciated for their hard work. Those who have good jobs have to work very hard to earn their living. Others while away their time and have to spend long hours doing nothing, and waiting for their bosses to come or go. Many are also forced to give sexual favours at work in order to rise to the next level. Indeed, there is a lot of sweating just to eat some bread. Administrators and secretaries are truly sweating to eat a little bread.
9. Entrepreneurial work: Investors, business entrepreneurs, market women, merchants, retail traders, street vendors.
“In the sweat of thy face shall thou be an entrepreneur…” Many entrepreneurs and businessmen fail because their businesses are unable to become genuinely established. Many businessmen struggle under the burden of debts they have contracted. Many entrepreneurs and businessmen struggle, toil, labour and suffer from a lack of financing for their businesses. The lack of good ideas for their businesses, the competition in their field of business, the lack of customers for their products and the lack of a steady income are just a few of the problems of business people! Indeed, the struggle of businessmen proves the curse on all men is still real today in spite of the different kinds of modern jobs that exist. Many businessmen are great hustlers with a good presentation. Behind their suits and their sharp talk is nothing but emptiness, vanity and sweat!
10. Information technology work: Hardware developers, programmers, web designers, App developers.
“In the sweat of thy face shall thou be a computer scientist…” Today, there are many people who work in the computer world. They develop software, hardware and invent many useful computer systems. The stress, struggle and toil of this large group of people are related to the sector that they are developing. Computers are used in every field of work. The stress, struggle and toil of every field of work are transposed into the computer scientist’s life. Many computer scientists are wearing out their eyes as they sit before their computers day and night. They are becoming millionaires and sacrificing their families in the process. Leaving the farms and moving to computers has not removed the curse of “in the sweat of thy face shall thou eat bread”. In spite of the air-conditioned and modern offices, our computer scientists are equally sweating it out on earth. The curse is a wonder! It is happening practically!
11. Agricultural and fishing, mining workers: Farmers, fishermen, miners, animal husbandry workers.
“In the sweat of thy face thou shall be a farmer, fisherman or miner…” The toiling, the sweating, the struggling and the suffering are very easy to see in the lives of farmers, fishermen and miners. Farming still employs the largest group of people in the world. A lot of farmers are poor. Most farmers get very little for all their farming efforts. This is why European and American farmers are greatly subsidized. Famines generally occur most where people only specialize in farming.
One of the most dangerous jobs is mining. It is a dirty job and underground mines are cold, noisy, dark, damp and scary. Breathing in the dust in a mine can lead to many lung diseases. There is a real danger of accidents occurring underground where miners can be trapped and die.
Many fishermen drown or some get lost at sea; and many of them get very little after fishing all night.
Apostle Peter almost drowned in the Sea of Galilee. He met Jesus Christ after he had toiled all night and caught nothing for all his hard work. The great apostle was equally labouring under the curse “in the sweat of thy face shall thou eat bread”.
12. Artisan work: Tailors, beauticians, hairdressers, mechanics, masons, carpenters, plumbers, electricians, tilers.
“In the sweat of thy face shall thou be an artisan…” Tailors, hairdressers, carpenters, masons and labourers work very hard and get very little for all their efforts. The curse that has been placed on all forms of work on this earth is alive and is working against them. Many artisans are constantly lying to their customers about one thing or the other. In spite of all the extra jobs they take, they struggle to make ends meet.
13. Machines, equipment, factory work: Inventors, manufacturers, assemblers, operators of machines, factory workers.
“In the sweat of thy face shall thou be a factory worker…” The suffering, toil and struggle of a factory worker are known all over the world. Whether it is a factory that makes cars, tinned fish, clothes or shoes, factory work is no easy thing. Many factory hands are underpaid and work under dangerous conditions. The business world is always looking for places to set up factories where labour is cheap. People who work in factories are often seen as dispensable workers who are mere tools for creating real wealth for the owners of the factory. Have you ever wondered why factory workers are always going on strike? It is because they are frustrated, sweating and labouring under the curse.
14. Unskilled labourers: Cleaners, labourers, assistants, attendants, waiters, helpers, cooks, cashiers, refuse collectors.
“In the sweat of thy face shall thou be a cleaner, a labourer, a waiter, a helper, a cook, a cashier, a waste disposal officer, refuse collector…” Unskilled labourers are those who prove this scripture very easily. Labourers, assistants, helpers and unskilled workers sweat from morning to evening with very little to show for it. For instance, waste disposal officers may have to clear up human waste and put their lives at risk while doing so.
In many cases there is no safety gear and they are exposed to sewage waste without any protection. These workers suffer because they are exposed to human waste, dangerous gases and dangerous chemicals. I once watched a waste disposal worker wading barefoot through faeces as he worked all night. I could not believe my eyes. This is the work he had to do every day. Indeed, the curse is real and frightening.
15. Military and security services work: Soldiers, police, air force pilots, army officers, prison officers, commandos, military staff, spies, security officers, personal bodyguards, navy officers, fire officers.
“In the sweat of thy face shall thou be in the military…” Being in the military or security services is a sad and difficult job. A soldier often has to fight foolish fights based on the whims and fancies of political leaders who are too proud to accept peace. Soldiers often die for foolish causes. Soldiers often die because of the decisions proud and wicked politicians take.
Being in the military is extremely hazardous, because you will have to go to some of the most dangerous places in the world. You will have to interact, and fight with some of the most dangerous people in the world.
Being a soldier requires lots of time away from home. Being a military man is a struggle. It is full of painful toiling under uncomfortable conditions. The constant threat of death multiplies the stress of a soldier’s work. Soldiers wear a chain around their neck with an inscription of their name and address on it in case they are killed suddenly. The nameplate is used to identify them in case their bodies are dismembered and disfigured. What a job!
16. Religious work: Pastors, apostles, religious leaders, church workers. “In the sweat of thy face shall thou be a religious worker…”
Pastors are also labouring on earth under the same conditions as everyone else! Pastors are under a lot of stress. Being a minister of the gospel is more difficult than being a doctor, a lawyer or a politician. Pastors struggle and toil as much as anyone else on this earth. Being in the ministry and serving the Lord does not mean that you are exempt from eating bread through the sweat of your face.
I remember when my wife’s friends would say to her, “Your husband doesn’t work any more.” I can understand how another person’s job looks easy from the outside. Sleep all week and deliver one sermon on Sunday! How easy that sounds!
I also remember when I had previous employees of a top international firm coming to work in the ministry. They were shocked at the amount of work they had to do in the ministry. Several people have come out of top international banks to work in our church. Every single one of them has said without exception that they have never worked that much in their lives. Truly, “In the sweat of thy face shall thou eat bread”, applies to pastors as well.
17. Sports work: Sportsmen, sports workers, soccer players, golfers, tennis players, track and field athletes. “In the sweat of thy face shall thou be a sportsman …”
Sportsmen are just like labourers, attendants and artisans in the sense that they also labour, struggle, toil and suffer to earn a living. Most sportsmen have to train very hard and have to spend many hours in private toil, suffering and labour.
We all know sportsmen who have become millionaires through their particular sport whether it is golf, tennis or soccer. The reality is that there are many others who spent their lives trying but never amounted to anything. Sportsmen are under great pressure to perform or lose their position and their income. Even when sportsmen become rich, they hardly know how to use their money and their riches often dissipate into thin air. Unfortunately, most sportsmen cannot continue their sport beyond a certain youthful age. Their earnings come to an abrupt end at a tender age. When I began to play golf, I realised how hard professional golfers have worked to eat bread. Everything looks easy from the outside, but the curse is real. “In the sweat of thy face shall thou eat bread. ” 18. Entertainment work: Actors, models, film producers, directors, musicians, photographers.
“In the sweat of thy face shall thou be an entertainer…” Entertainers are just like any other workers on earth in the sense that they will also labour, struggle, toil and suffer to earn a living. Most singers, dancers, models and actors have had to train very hard and have had to spend many hours in private toil, suffering and labour.
We all know singers who became millionaires through a song they made. The reality is that there are many others who spent their lives trying to sing a nice song but never amounted to anything. Singers and actors are under great pressure to perform or lose their fame. Most singers hardly know how to use their money and their riches often turn into rags. Unfortunately, most singers, dancers, models and actors have a short period in which they shine. After this, most of them disappear into oblivion. Amazingly, most singers have only one famous song. It is very difficult for singers to come up with two songs that really hit the mark. Indeed, singers, stars, actors, photographers are fulfilling the curse; “in the sweat of thy face shall thou eat bread”.
19. Political workers: Presidents, parliamentarians, ministers of state, congressmen, government workers.
“In the sweat of thy face shall thou be a politician…” Presidents and politicians have very difficult lives. Many politicians campaign all their lives to have a job that lasts for just four years.
Democratic politicians have to please everyone in order to be chosen in the next election. It is not easy to please everyone! It is not easy to participate in every type of religious service and pretend to worship elsewhere.
Many politicians are insecure because everyone wants to replace them and take over their position. It is a very difficult thing to rule over millions of greedy, selfish, forgetful and ungrateful people.
You can virtually see the president’s hair turn grey as he struggles through his term of office.
20. Creative workers: Artists, authors, poets, composers, inventors. “In the sweat of thy face shall thou be a creative worker …” Artists are just like any other workers on earth in the sense that they will also labour, struggle, toil and suffer to earn a living. Most authors, inventors and composers have had to spend many hours in private toil, suffering and labour.
We all know authors who became millionaires through some books they wrote. The reality is that there are many others like them who spent their lives writing but never amounted to anything. Many artists, composers and inventors are not appreciated in their lifetime and often die in poverty. Unfortunately, most authors, composers and poets also have a short period during which they can shine.
You can pick and choose from any of the jobs that exist in the world today. Whatever the job, no matter how unsavoury it is, you will find that the pattern remains the same. There is sweat, there is toil, there is struggle, there is futility, there is suffering and there is vanity!
From being a miner to being a president, a crab fisherman, a mercenary, a journalist, a cleaner, a negotiator, a lumber logger, a prison warden, a mountain rescue worker, a school teacher, a disposer of refuse, an undertaker, a model, a guard, a vet, an oil rig worker, a protocol officer, an electrician, a tower builder, a welder, a fire fighter, a driver, a foreman, a personal bodyguard, a painter, a laundry worker, a night security officer, a nurse, a dancer, a surgeon, a pilot, a flight engineer, an ambulance driver, a fire engine driver, a policeman, a health worker, a broadcaster, a nursery school teacher, a mental health nurse, a marijuana seller, a groundnut seller, a plantain seller, a physician specialist, a chief executive, a midwife, a soccer player, a referee, a businessman, an event organizer, a market woman, a trader, a school principal, a mechanic, a traffic warden, a politician, a weatherman, a tax collector, a lawyer, a used car dealer, a pimp, a prostitute, a pornographer, a banker, a dentist, a soldier, a naval officer, a submarine commander, a hundred-metre sprinter, a boxer, a bus conductor, a long jump and high jump specialist, an astronaut, a civil engineer, a captain of a ship, a tipper truck driver, a cremator, a latrine worker, a sexton, a maintenance worker, a grounds worker, an advisor, an orthodontist, a computer hardware engineer, an astronomer, a political scientist, a mathematician, a chemistry teacher, an app developer, a physicist, a law professor, an actuary, an optometrist, a statistician, a computer and systems manager, a web developer, a jockey, an aircraft mechanic, an apostle or a pastor, you will only eat bread in the sweat of your face according to the word of the Lord that came to Adam.
The Curse of Death
Through this same curse man is doomed to die. No matter which country you come from and no matter what medicines you take, your destiny is death. This is the nature of a curse. It is astonishing in its invariability. It is marvellous in its unrelenting outcome.
… for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. Genesis 2:17
The curse on Adam is a wonder because whichever direction you turn, wherever you go, death will meet you one day or another. How has this curse of death been implemented in the earth? The curse of Adam is ensured by a multitude of death-causing agents that release death in the earth and ensure that the word of the Lord comes to pass.
This list of death-causing agents ensures that everybody on earth dies. Whatever the case, whatever your age, whatever your nationality, one of these listed agents may definitely lead to the fulfilment of the curse on Adam in your life.
Wisdom, carefulness and the grace of God, can cause you to elude some of these agents of death for many years. Understand that wisdom is your master key to overcoming a curse!
In the natural, this is a list of death-causing agents. However, the real cause of death is what God said to Adam “in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.”

June 2018
Travelling makes me happy. Makes me feel like a more interesting person, makes my life feel much richer. I'm thankful for every opportunity I get to see the world. My time in Bali was fantastic. I carried around four books all the time and yet I only managed to read about 100 pages. There was just so much to do and see.
The word Geräuschkulisse
Roasting peaches on top of halloumi slices with a dash of honey and apple cider vinegar. Mmmh.
"Whether it’s meditation, reading, or trekking through Timbuktu, you must find something that gives you a happiness that is not contingent on others." One or two people about the importance of being alone.
Shopping at the market early on Saturday morning. The charming dude who sold me strawberries, mangoes and an avocado. Empty aisles at the drugstore. Carrying everything home in my huge trekking backpack, almost losing balance on the bike.
The rust-coloured &otherstories dress with tortoise shell buttons. Such a dream, alas, too small. Had to send it back. Sigh.
Going to Im Grünen Festival near the Austrian border with Markus. Stopping at Chiemsee for a swim. The band Leoniden covering the old Sugababes song Overload (got stuck in my head immediately). Realising that it keeps getting harder for me to be in bad company. The more I like myself the less I like others.
Veganz Choc Bar Coconut. Even more addictive than the dm bio coconut bars and the Rapunzel ones. Delicious.
Spending an evening with Franzi at the new rooftop beergarden. It's on top of a parking garage near Stachus!
Alessandro's HAND!SPA hand cream which comes in a little yellow macaron box and smells like lemon buttermilk.
I finally caved in and bought a SodaStream Crystal. Bye bye, bottled water and plastic waste! EDIT: I also got a high speed blender. Hello, nicecream!
Getting to know my new neighbour Silvie.
Making pink and yellow slime with the sixth-graders.
Learning about how brazil nuts grow. They're huddled against each other in a big shell! Weird. I never knew.
Reading Linnéas Jahrbuch, an old Swedish children's book favourite of mine. I love Lena Anderson's illustrations.
Thoughts about the monstera hype.
A small girl said goodbye to her friend one morning on the subway: "Dann noch ein schönes Leben!"
Such a busy Saturday. Getting all my affairs in order in the morning, writing long to-do-lists. Going grocery shopping, buying plants at Ries. Visiting Sabine, working on our song for the choir. Getting a message from Manu: his parents have a sales booth at the Africa festival in Munich and he doesn't wanna go alone. Going home, baking a cake, hurrying to the subway, meeting up with him and his mum. She got us in for free and I had such a nice evening there. Eating, drinking, walking around, talking to the parents, some friends, buying a ring, chili oil and lemon/orange pepper. Discussing art with his dad. Joking around with his mum. I felt very comfortable in that warm and familial atmosphere. Also, everyone kept thinking we were a couple. Mh.
Hanging out at Maria Einsiedel on a Sunday afternoon. Reading. Only jumping into the Eiskanal once. Very refreshing. I like that feeling as if thounsands of tiny needles were pricking your skin, just a little bit.
Climbing. Up the monkey bars, the wall in the boulder room, over the fence. It's nice to feel strong and capable, earn that sense of accomplishment, to feel your muscles working.
Solving two anagrams after staring at those words for almost two hours.
Feeling like wonderwoman. I don't know what happened but since the beginning of 2018 I've been feeling like a completely different person. I'm much happier, I have more energy. I enjoy getting things done and going the extra mile - often quite literally when I simply walk to the next bus stop instead of waiting, or when I start cleaning or doing things that are not absolutely necessary. I'm starting to feel like myself. To come closer to my true sense of being. It took me ten years longer than I thought it would but I guess I needed to take the long route.
I made sweet potato toast for the first time. A great savoury breakfast option!
Murakami's Wind-Up Bird Chronicle. The book is almost 800 pages long and I'm not quite finished but I have to say that so far I like it even more than Kafka on the Shore. All those visionary women, the shadow world - and the stories about the Soviet–Japanese border conflicts during the Second World War (submarines, sitting in wells, shooting zoo animals, being skinned alive) creep the shit out of me. I also love the focus on neat clothing in that book.
Safiya Nygaard is a good/weird person. Seriously. All those pop-culture references. Thank you, sister.
Playing around with the Bitmoji app (and the fact that mine looks a bit like Rachel Weisz).
Terrazzo tiles.
Booking my flights to Australia and Indonesia! I'm so excited. I've never travelled alone for more than a few days and now I'm going to be away for almost a month. I'm gonna spend almost 27 hours on planes on my way to Brisbane. What an adventure.
Ulli Lust's graphic novels.
My new yoga class. I'm going to be there every Wednesday, cursing myself and my decision to commit to this. It's exhausting and weird but so good for me. But I've already found out that I'm able to put my feet behind my head in a backwards bend. Way to go.
Learning how to use a potter's wheel. I didn't do too well because you need to stick to rules (something I'm bad at - at least when it comes to art) but turning and shaping the semi-hard pots afterwards is so much fun; exactly my thing. I need to practise, it's awesome to see a vase growing between your hands.
Miranda July's The First Bad Man at Kammerspiele Munich. This is the most hilarious and entertaining production I've ever seen in a theatre, I suppose. Anna Drexler reminds me of Birgit Minichmayr and has a lot of comedic talent. And Brandy Butler, geez, that voice. You could see quite clearly that someone had a lot of fun putting this play together.
Love in Translation
"If I'm not the love of your life I'll be the greatest loss instead." - Rupi Kaur (and the first part of her poetry collection The Sun and Her Flowers - I thought her poems about losing love were very relatable)
Meeting the bees! I designed honey jar labels last year and now I got to know the industrious little workers behind our product. We harvested and pressed the honey - I even petted the bees, they are so soft. I had a pretty nice day. And I love crushing honeycombs with my bare hands. Good texture and a very satisfying feeling.
Going dancing for the first time in... a very long time. I met up with Frank and Claudia at Import Export, took a picture of the fake Pommesbude and had actually quite a lot of fun doing silly moves, talking to Frank. It was weird because we kept saying the same thing at pretty much the same time. So that means we're still the same kind of lame/awesome?

A Sneak Peek at The Enchanting World Premiere of The Ancient Magus Bride
Over two short days, Anime Expo attendees were treated to four world premieres this 4th of July weekend. Among them was the highly anticipated anime adaptation of Kore Yamazaki’s internationally-acclaimed manga The Ancient Magus Bride, produced by WIT--the studio behind Attack on Titan and Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress--stood out for offering not one, but three episodes in advance of its broadcast slated for the Fall 2017 season. Having a quarter of the season completed this far in advance is remarkable on its own, but WIT seemed intent on giving AX the full treatment. President and WIT founder George Wada and series director Norihiro Naganuma were in attendance to host a Q&A panel both in advance and directly following the screening.
The Ancient Magus Bride tells the story of Chise, a Japanese girl born with the rare ability to see spirits. Orphaned at a young age, she was passed around by her extended family, each finding her odd reactions to the unseen as eerie. Consumed with a sense of loneliness, she eventually sells herself into slavery simply to have a place to belong. Chise is purchased for a grand sum by the mysterious, skull-headed Elias, who claims to be one of a dying breed of magus and aims to make her his apprentice, and eventually his bride. He also resolves to change her perception of her supernatural sight, which she considers a curse, to the rare blessing he believes it to be.
Speak to any fan of the manga and they may struggle to describe its spellbinding atmosphere. It’s difficult to quantify how all the small moments in the story coalesce into such a meaningful experience, but wordlessly we’re made to contemplate ideas like mankind's place in the world, the nature of life, and the finality of death through action and circumstance. Chise’s unwitting journey to find a place for herself, after feeling rejected by the world her entire life, is all the more poignant because of the wonder that suffuses the setting, waiting to be recognized, not just in the secret magic hidden beneath our modern day world, but within the smallest moments of mundanity in the character’s daily lives.
During the The Ancient Magus Bride panel, Wada emphasized his concern over this aspect of the anime, stating they wanted to create the same experience for audiences watching as those reading the manga. Naganuma described his own concern with integrating the different aspects of every scene into a whole that would convey this same worldview. Communicating the beauty of Yamazaki’s world in a manner that was universally understandable was treated as tantamount importance in production. Toward that end, they brought on Yusuke Takeda (art director for various iterations of Ghost in the Shell) for background art and looked outside the industry for their composer, bringing in Junichi Matsumoto to make his anime debut for the score.
Naganuma’s statement about integrating each aspect of a scene to create a sense of atmosphere quickly became apparent. Scenes are rarely static, with various supernatural creatures finding creative ways to enter the environment, often cozying up to Chise or exploring the corners of the room. New scenes are presented in scale, showing off Takeda’s wonderful backgrounds before zooming in show the components that form the larger whole. When Elias first transports Chise to his rural cottage, we’re presented with a view of the entire property before focusing on details, like a bird treating its nest followed by flowers in the yard, illustrated in a style reminiscent of an oil painting, swaying peacefully in the wind. Just as the manga conveys a reverence for things small and large, the anime captures this feeling through visual direction.
This also rings true in the musical accompaniment and sound design, which is apparent right from the opening scene. While Chise’s situation appears frightening, a mysterious string melody implies that something unseen is at work. Each new score, whether peaceful or uplifting, is noticeable for its visceral impact. The attention to audio is even remarkable in its absence. Silence is used several times to provide emotional punctuation, feeling oppressive in some scenes and contemplative in others. For a series where much of the emotional development is nonverbal, the addition of such carefully-crafted audio adds another dimension to the storytelling.
Although the large speakers certainly helped, the voice casting for the anime was deeply satisfying: Atsumi Tanezaki (Moe, The Perfect Insider; Lisa, Terror in Resonance) as Chise sounds youthful but already world-weary while Ryouta Takeuchi (Barouhcruz, Aldnoah Zero; Darui, Naruto Shippuden) is a resonant and mysterious Elias. Lindel’s voice actor managed to strike a balance between playful and ageless. The attention to audio leaves me eager to see how Takeuchi’s sophisticated baritone may later be adapted to the bestial Thorn.
The sneak peek showed an anime that was simply breathtaking, dispelling the lingering fears that I personally held for the adaptation of a story guided by such a subtle hand. Naganuma seems intent on delivering a quality product, claiming the animators each made a clay model of Elias’ skull to use as a reference to ensure consistent detail. He stated he hoped to have finished the first cour of 12 episodes by the time the anime airs in the fall, which will hopefully provide the team with the leeway needed to make sure every detail sparkles. If these episodes were any indication, it’s the anime to look out for next season.
The Ancient Magus Bride is still a few months off, but there are plenty of ways to enjoy the story NOW!
-Seven Seas Entertainment has translated the manga up to volume 7, which you can purchase in print and will also be available digitally on Crunchyroll’s mobile app later this month!
-You can watch the first two episodes of the 3-part prequel OVA The Ancient Magus’ Bride: Those Awaiting a Star, which tells an original story from Chise’s tragic childhood.
-Finally, if you missed the sneak peek at AX but can’t wait until the fall season, Crunchyroll has partnered with theaters across the US to screen the first three episodes of The Ancient Magus Bride on July 26th! Go to the official Anime Movie Night website to find a participating theater near you!

Pirates of Pugmire art by Pat Loboyko
Pirates of Pugmire, which as of my writing this, has 16 days to go and is just under 75% funded! Thank you to everyone who has back, shared, and commented so far, and I’m so excited to help bring all the new pirate rules to the Realms of Pugmire, including ship battles, bird and lizard characters, new callings, firearms, and treasure! We’d really like to get this traditionally printed and in stores, so if you would, too, or just to see manuscript previews, head over to the Kickstarter at http://kck.st/2EoRkyp, yar! But who is writing this, you ask? (We’re going to pretend like you asked. And by “we” I mean “I.”) It is I, Dixie Cochran! Yes, that’s right, I’ve taken over the blog this week while Rich and the rest of the gang who attended UK Games Expo are on their way back from England (or in Matthew’s case, back to elsewhere in England). I’m sure Rich will provide a full account when he returns next week, but until then, here’s a report from Matthew, along with some photographs he kindly sent along.
“The team of Rich, Eddy, Matt, Matthew, Klara, John, Steffie, and Chris had a fantastic time at the UK Games Expo this year, where we ran a demo table, ran over a dozen games at the Hilton, and sold product from Leisure Games to great effect! It was Onyx Path’s first time having a booth at a British convention, and the sheer number of people who thanked us for coming or showed a keen interest in our games (Pugmire, Scion, and Prince’s Gambit were standouts) was staggering.”
L to R: Matt McElroy, Rich Thomas, Chris Allen, Klara Herbøl, Steffie de Vaan, Eddy Webb, and John Burke play Prince’s Gambit! The Sabbat wins!
“We organized our very first Chronicles of Darkness tournament at the Expo, with players from each game of Vampire (run by Klara Herbøl), Werewolf (run by Chris Allen), Promethean (run by John Burke), Changeling (ran by Steffie de Vaan), and Geist (ran by Chris Handley) went on to participate in an Antarctic session of the Contagion Chronicle (run by Matthew Dawkins)! The final winner was Michael, who played his changeling from Steffie’s game, and won a prestige copy of Demon: The Descent. The tournament concept was so good we’ll aim to do something similar next year.”
Matthew and the players of the final game of the Chronicles of Darkness tournament, Stephen, Chris, Sophie, Michael, and Andrew! Congratulations, Michael!
“All in all, we had a superb time. It was great to meet freelancers who haven’t made it out to Gen Con before, the business meetings we held were fruitful, and everyone had a lot of fun. Here’s to the next one!”
The Onyx Path crew at UKGE: Matthew, Klara, Eddy, John, Steffie, Chris, Matt, and Rich! No wonder it’s been so quiet around the office this week. Wait, I work from home…
Eddy welcomes folks to the Onyx Path booth at UKGE! Look how excited he is! “You’re all good dogs!” he seems to say
Dixie again! Isn’t it just like Matthew to interrupt me on my very first blog entry here? I feel like I’m sensing a pattern. For real, though, it looks like everyone had a great time at UKGE, and I hope it’s a convention to which we return in the future! (See how I said “we” there? Maybe I’ll come next year! Who knows? I got so much done while they were gone, though…) For those of you who aren’t as familiar with me, let me actually provide a bit of my history with the company. In 2015 or so, I was chatting with Rose Bailey, just catching up, and I mentioned that though I’d gone to school intending to pursue a career in copy editing, I was having trouble finding a way into the field (at the time, I was mostly focused on fiction and comic books). She subsequently tried me out on the Demon Translation Guide and from there I moved on to supplements and eventually cores. I’d been playing White Wolf/Onyx Path games since about 1999, but for some reason hadn’t considered the RPG industry as a career path until it fell into my lap. Now, several million words edited later (I’ve lost count, but it has to be over three million at this point), I ended up stepping into a version of Rose’s former position when she left to focus on her personal projects. I’m the in-house developer for Chronicles of Darkness and Exalted, so I make sure those lines are doing what they need to, and I still edit quite a bit of our books myself, though I outsource a lot of the smaller supplements and a few core books to other editors, depending on my current workload. In addition, as many/most of you know, I’m one of the three hosts of the Onyx Pathcast, along with Eddy and Matthew, which I enjoy immensely.
It’s been a really great 16 months or so working for Onyx Path, and I look forward to doing even more in the future! Let me know in the comments if there’s anything you’d like to hear about or anyone you’d like to hear from on an upcoming Pathcast episode!
The classic Shén pantheon from Scion: Hero!
Anyway, if I seem to be stalling before I get to the actual Monday Meeting notes, it’s because we didn’t actually have a true meeting this week, what with half the staff still traveling. I have updates and teasers, as usual, but as to what we talked about in the meeting? There wasn’t a lot. (Mostly I asked Mike to give me art, which he did! Thanks, Mike!)
Now that UKGE is past, I’m looking forward to seeing everyone at PAXU, though of course bits of our team here and there will be at other conventions throughout the summer. Say hi if you see one of us!
To reiterate a couple of teasers from Rich from last week, we’ll be announcing a new developer for Scarred Lands and the projects they are overseeing once everyone gets back. Plus, on the Scarred Lands Community Content site, the Slarecian Vault, the beginning of July marks the start of a phenomenal linked adventure series you will not want to miss! Also, June 13th we’ll be starting a little treat for everyone that leads into the aforementioned July event. (Psst, it’s one we get a lot of questions about.)
The modern Shén pantheon from Scion: Hero!
One last tease before we get on to blurbs and updates, for something else that is coming soon…oh? What’s this?
Oh, sorry, that just fell out of my email, but hopefully it will help people create
Many Worlds, One Path!
(Did I do that right?)
