some vampire au ideas for some of my st/ar wars boys:
o/bi-wan - he’s bit by some bat-like alien creature and it turns him into a vampire, only he’s probably not called that it’s just like ‘a weird side effect of the venom’. every thing else is basically the same as canon
a/nakin / v.ader - s.iths are vampires. palps turns him before m.ustafar. he still loses the fight, probably still loses his legs, but is able to heal from the burns because vampire healing. so now we got vampire v.ader.
luke - v.ader bit p.adme to try and save her but it didn’t work, she still died but the twins are born as half-vampires. OR v.ader bites him during the fight on bespin.

whether or not that loustat hug is the contested NOLA reunion, do you think it could happen in the present day instead? obviously in the iwtv book it’s a fleeting visit from louis. but in the show i just can’t imagine them going separate ways again after a reunion as it’s all heightened so much more. plus, i believe it’s been said that we have a modern day NOLA shot in the trailer. after watching s1 i just assumed that lestat would eventually pop up in the present day, but that was before reading the books!! how do you think us seeing him in the present day will go down? do you have any thoughts on where he even is? i’m feeling so clueless but curious about how they’ll introduce him and pave the way for his story to be told. sorry that this is so long🫶🏼
The hug can theoretically happen in Dubai time, but then... you know, back then, when Claudia's diaries showed up for the first time, I said that I sure hope their potential will not be wasted.
Because... Claudia's diary was a twist. A BIG twist, even for book readers. It shifted perceptions of characters yet again. "Merrick" was a blow to the stomach, especially knowing Anne had originally planned to let Louis die. (Btw, the first "Merrick" post I tagged as such was a reblog of @cbrownjc, in October 22, go figure :P)
The show has taken elements from Merrick, elements which would indeed be wasted if they do not go a certain route towards the end of season 2. Because they have been building up to it, and if they should not go there then they won't be able to return later on and then this twist will be wasted.
I just... cannot see them waste that twist, tbh, given its importance for all the arcs.
Which brings us back to NOLA (or not) and Lestat, and where he is, because if we are in Merrick territory... then Lestat is either asleep/in coma, or roaming. Because I agree! I don't see them separating again (not fully) after finding each other again. It wouldn't serve the show imho, the back and forth, and why would Lestat tell his story?
So I do not see the hug happen in NOLA. And if it is, then I bet that will be the contested meeting.
Now, I personally think Lestat is close by. I think he might be connected to "The Groan". I think it will literally all come crashing down when Dubai comes to a head.
Tumblr media
I think Lestat might be in the "chapel" with "Those Who Must Be Kept", maybe. A chapel which serves both, and which explains the "I serve a god", too.
I think the moment when the books come down Lestat will wake up.
If they are mean, they'll go out with a cliffhanger of epic proportions^^ (aka Louis seemingly dead), but I can also see them go through with the resolution first... and then sit back, literally, proverbially, and Daniel going something like: "So you are the vampire Lestat." in that tone of his, while side-eyeing all vampires there :) I can hear it.^^
That said, there was once a comment about Lestat maybe telling his story through a different device, so maybe... maybe Daniel finds some old tapes :) Or maybe he even interviewed Lestat before! We don't know yet. He did seem to react to "Come to me".
Personally I want Louis there to listen to the story though. Because ultimately Lestat tells his story for Louis.
So. To come back to the hug and Dubai... Maybe what we saw was the end of the season.
Because... if they are not that mean (to us)... then maybe Louis does attempt suicide, Lestat wakes, he, Armand and Marius save Louis... and Louis wakes to see Lestat - dusty, hair tangled, and clad in a velvet jacket.
"Lestat had by this time brushed off the cumbersome covering of dust he wore, and taken from his own closet a new coat of dark- brown velvet, and fresh linen, so that he wore his usual thick and faintly discolored old lace. He had shaken out his hair and combed it, and put on new boots."
Tumblr media
Dark brown velvet jacket, and shaken out and combed hair.
I mean, we can hope, right? :)

Alright, here are some screenshots from the new iwtv s2 trailer and me theorizing over them like a rabid fangirl. Hafl meta, half madness.
Tumblr media
ok, so this bit of dialogue here where they are talking about Daniel and the interview
Armand: He wants you in pieces for the privilege of putting them back together as he sees fit. Louis: It's his job. Armand: It's his drug. He's reveling in it. You should end it.
Is Armand bitter? Is this how he saw his and Daniel's relationship? If so he is big mad. Like, this man has had decades to stew in that post-breakup anger. Memory is a monster and all that. So he's had plenty of time to do that thing where people breakup, get pissed off, and only remember the bad times. We twist our own memory all the time, that's one of the ways people get past shit. So Armand has probably twisted what he and Daniel has. Because my boy does not handle rejection well.
Or maybe he is projecting? Messing with Louis' memories (which it seems like he did. though i do believe he thought he was helping Louis at the time. a monster in love is still a monster) could very well be putting him back as Armand sees fit. That's what he may believe he did to Louis. Though the definition of 'as he sees fit' could have multiple meanings. I think personally that Armand sees (or at least justifies) messing with Louis memories as for Louis own good.
Either way, he does not want Daniel poking into Louis' head.
Tumblr media
this is just some loumand cuteness. look, Armand kisses Louis on the cheek. i think Armand is or was probably pretty affectionate when him and Louis were alone together. I remember that interview with Assad saying there was a tenderness to Louis and Armand's relationship. there's a whole bunch of cute little shots of them together. but they are hard to get a cleat shot of because they sort of fade into each other in the video.
like, i know in my heart the loumand breakup is coming this season. but i'm going to enjoy it while it lasts. bc this version of loumand has got me hooked. i have to confess, i was never really a big fan of loumand in the iwtv book. the whole claudia of it all ruined it for me. but i am so fascinated to see how these two made it work for 77 years.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
and this. the way Claudia and Armand look at each other when they first spot each other. that quick second before the mask can slip into place. they do not like each other. they are enduring for Louis' sake. at least until he picks one of them.
Tumblr media
then like a split second later, she has this tight smile on her face. my baby girl is not happy
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
look at their faces y'all. this is during Louis' 'life is shit' bit of dialogue. where he tells Claudia to stop feeling sorry for herself. he also says they 'can't be running away again' do they find other vampires before Paris? According to her diaries, they were in Romania in 1941. And Louis says something about they can't be the only 'good ones'
We also know they were in Paris, Nov 14 from Claudia's diaries. The interview is set in 2022. Louis mentions earlier in the clip him and Armand have been together 77 years. So they'd have to have gotten together in 1945. Given how quickly things happened in the book, I'd say they were probably only there a few months.
Tumblr media
this has to be Allesandra. it has to be. I can't wait for this Armand backstory stuff.
Tumblr media
y'all look at this fuckery. Santiago is kissing some woman while riding a motorcycle. idk if she is a victim or another vampire. and i think possibly the bike might be flying? I can't tell. It looks pretty cool though.
Tumblr media
oh look, a scythe. i wonder what that could possibly be foreshadowing. they have to have the scene, the way they've shown a scythe in a few different teasers/trailers now.
Tumblr media
this might be Madeliene, but I don't know. The hair doesn't fit what we've seen so far. my theory is that this is Madeleine's sister who dies via vampires. in the books she lost a daughter, and it was why she was so eager to play mother to Claudia. Having a child that could almost literally never die would have had to seem like, the greatest thing ever. switching it to a sister would be fitting, seeing as Claudia is playing the role of sister to Louis
So my thought here, (and I know I am theorizing based on nothing but vibes) is that Madeleine is looking into the vampires bc her sister went missing after going to a show at the Theatre des Vampires. And at some point, Claudia will reveal what they are to her.
That may be why she looked so scared in that other teaser we had. These pics are from it and they are blurry af, so sorry bout that
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This could be the vampires warning her to mind her business. Why not kill her outright? Bc they like to play with their food. Or bc Claudia wants to keep her, and Armand knows he has to get Claudia out of the way to be with Louis. So he could just like, order the coven to not kill this one human. And then later 'convinces' Louis to turn her into a vampire, so Claudia will have her own companion and gtfo
Tumblr media
like, i know it's hard to tell from this one shot, but Armand seems to be on the verge of having a full on tantrum. while saying Lestat's name over and over. Probably bc he heard how much Louis was talking about Lestat to Daniel. he's probably mad jelly, but like, in both directions.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
look at this shit. Armand straight up hisses and pushes Lestat away with his vampire powers. (this I think is may not 1945 Paris, but around when they first meet. idk though)
Tumblr media
this is how Lestat seemed to be dressed in the image above. and given the whole look of him (you know, in full health) i think this is around the time Lestat meets the Children of Satan
Tumblr media
y'all I am screaming. this is Lestat drinking Armand's blood. did they fuck? did Lestat hit it and quit it?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
At least Claudia gets to tell Louis off for picking Armand over her. But she definitely was not loving Paris.
Tumblr media
as witnessed here, by Daniel reading from her journal "fuck these vampires"
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
so here we have Daniel saying he wants to get out alive (then we have him making this strange face where it looks like he wants to cry, another shot of Armand) while this other dude says that Daniel fears Armand and that he should fear the other one. Who tf is this guy? Are they still in the penthouse? Did Daniel leave and go out somewhere to meet this guy? Who is this man? Maybe another vampire that paid a visit? Is he this Leonard guy we've heard about? bc that does not look like David Costabile, but tv hair and makeup can perform magic, so maybe it is?
Tumblr media
here we have Louis throwing his cup of blood at a painting. it's ok baby boy, you are entitled to a hissy fit every now and again
Tumblr media
Here we have Louis hallucinating Lestat, so that's fun.
And now bitch ass tumblr says I can't post anymore images, but i am only halfway through the trailer. so I guess i will post and reblog

i just saw the trailer for the 2nd season of interview with the vampire and i don't really trust armand (or authors want me to feel so) but i like him anyway. i don't know if fandom of iwtv think the same because i haven't had time to dive into it yet, so i belive that my thoughts not so obvious for everyone.
and scince this scene where louis tells that claudia couldn't burn lestat and there comes the memory where she begs to burn lestat down and louis grabs her by the throat, i thought how many louis' memories were changed like that.
Tumblr media
when armand said that he 'havs always protected him [louis] from himself' (at least ukrainian dub says so), i started to belive that armand 'fixed' louis' memories... or maybe authors are trying to make think that armand is 'bad' but the plot twist is that armand actually 'good'... or i'm just overthing gay vampire show

hope you’re doing well yutro!! 💛 just saw the iwtv season two trailer dropped! any thoughts? 🎤
i've been postponing watching it because i was too nervous and thought i would be thoroughly disappointed... especially that the 1st season introduced some changes into the text that i thought were completely unnecessary and detrimental to it.
but i have finally watched it now and... i'm a bit obsessed? the way lestat haunts them... and armand! armand repeating "lestat"... i truly hope it is not just some display of jealousy and that there will be at least hints at armand's own psychosexual obsession with him. if not, i will be a let-down that will ruin the whole adaptation for me once again (the monogamous worldview that the show writers impose on vampires is so tiring.) especially that i'm already highly skeptical of louis & armand still being in a relationship. but i have already complained about the strange standards and butchering the beauty and horror of the immortal love at length when the first season came out so i will not repeat myself.
there is so much going on that i cannot dissect because it's a complete turn away from the original... in that one scene, is lestat laughing at armand?? why are they talking about the interview itself as if so much is at stake... what happens to claudia in this iteration of the story? etc. etc. it makes me both nervous and a bit curious where they will go with it all.
the thing i'm really thrilled to see is the theatre though! this was my favourite part in the books... and we didn't get much glimpses at it in the trailer, but i know some of it was recorded in prague, and i'm also excited to see it.

I said recently that I wasn’t really that into the first couple of teasers for IWTV (didn’t hate them, I just thought “looks nice.. ok, I’ll save judgment for later”) but then the official SDCC trailer came out and I saw the brief shots of the confession scene, so that made me excited.
WELL the part that really made me excited was this last shot before the title card reveal
Tumblr media
accompanied by Lestat’s voiceover saying “you don’t fear me Louis, you fear yourself”. Then showing the title with the music vocals singing “DEAR GOD” (which... look, whoever chose the music for those trailers deserves all the awards)
The noise I made after hearing that was inhuman. (I scared the shit out of my poor grandad, he was so worried 😂)
So, that line wasn’t in the show (I think @nalyra-dreaming is onto something here by theorizing it was probably included in the church scene at first, and that might be what Lestat was saying that “disarmed” Louis - edit: HE DID SAY IT!! If you listen really carefully, you can hear Lestat say “you don’t fear me Louis” while present!Louis is doing his voiceover - ohh my god, the details in this show...) but I was soooooo happy to hear that in the trailer because it’s true! I mean.. yeah, with what we’ve seen so far, Louis does have reason to fear Lestat BUT he also fears himself. He fears what he’s capable of as a vampire in the past story, and in the present story with the interview he definitely fears taking full responsibility for what he has done (...and what he didn’t do)
I’ve never been so happy to hear confirmation of a character’s intense self-loathing.

Saw this tweet: https://x.com/vampyreslvt/status/1773072361404666254?s=46&t=ScaegDPoDx52WvOgAyhYNA
Assuming that Loumand do eventually break up, do you think they even know how to live without each other?? 🥺🥺 almost 8 decades!!!! I need the show to explore this if they go there!
Tumblr media
the tweet for context [x] loumand, my darlings ❤️❤️❤️ prefacing this with the usual: these are just educated guesses based on knowledge from the books, tv shows, and all sorts of possibilities that could happen as we begin to enter uncharted territory in the next season(s); they're also my opinion so :) if you don't like it, move on with your own I think this in itself is something that can be greatly explored in so many capacities in upcoming season(s) as ways to explore both louis and armand as individual characters and as this unit that I think they inevitably need to be to some extent!
I've said it a couple of times since the RJ trailer dropped, but the show is officially, in so many regards, putting us all in a very similar boat, and by 'us all' I mean book fans and show fans. books fans have had this slight advantage of knowing the storyline of iwtv going into seasons 1 and 2, so even with the changes of the timeline and the expansion of louis' human life, etc. the basis has stayed the same in that it is louis telling daniel the story of becoming a vampire, falling in love, creating claudia, killing lestat, going to paris, and being there to witness and be destroyed by claudia's death. now, there have been since the beginning of s1 things that book fans can't have known as it's not in the book (i.e. most of lestat and louis' love story, everything in dubai, the changes characters from the azalea brought into play, the changes made to the plan to kill lestat, antoinette, etc.) but s2, from the looks of it atm (who knows what this will look like when the season actually airs, I'm very aware this could change) is...drastically changing so much of the story, making things deviate from the books. we see the lestat hallucinations seem to be running rampant, we see claudia on the stage and fully immersed as a coven member, we see a seemingly more longstanding relationship between madeleine and the others, we see this longer courtship between louis and armand, we see this passion and tenderness in louis and armand, we see armand being part of the san fransisco interview, we see current dubai and louis and armand still being together, and I could go on and on....
basically, we are entering uncharted territory and s3 will put us into even more uncharted territory if we are keeping characters like louis, armand, and daniel as main characters as lestat gets to tell his version of the events (and I have a lot of thoughts on the show not doing the above, not continuing with louis, armand, and daniel, and none of those thoughts are good or complimentary and I don't think the show would go there so I'm not going to get into it) the show cannot do tvl as just tvl, just as they haven't and couldn't have done iwtv as just the exact iwtv. and part of that is, if they do, louis and armand will hardly exist within the narrative whatsoever and daniel will be completely irrelevant. so where does that leave us? louis needs a storyline. armand needs a storyline. daniel needs a storyline. and those three are so intertwined. we know louis and armand are going to breakup, probably -- most likely -- this season, given what we do know of the books. however!! I truly do think it would be a disservice to both of them to not explore them trying to live without each other and, frankly, finding it impossible in some capacity. as the tweet above says, louis has spent over half of his life with armand, and armand, for all his years, has spent a significant amount of his long life with louis. and with what we know about armand's past, this is his longest lasting relationship ever as well. the trailer has already had some moments, lines of 'we've been together for 77 years, daniel' and things about them finishing each other's sentences. we know from s1 their relationship is complex; armand's continued watch over louis, the things he says about this being louis' suicide, his determination to protect louis' mind and stress, the things he says in the finale about louis, things he says about 'you've only heard half the story you'll be ashamed when you hear the rest of what you say,' louis introducing armand with this determined 'he's the love of my life,' and I could go on. to just suddenly have them galivanting around without one another and without thinking of the other would be.........shameful............especially because louis and armand's relationship in the books isn't ever quite diminished. sure, louis becomes cold in the years following claudia's death and he and armand are merely companions out of apathy on louis' end, desperation and longing on armand's, but eventually louis softens to armand again, and they have this companionship that is still very much full of love. I was rereading through part of QotD and after the big final event with akasha, when everyone is coming to, armand is holding louis. and armand is always looking out for louis, even if it's sending lestat or helping lestat out in terms of something louis needs, because he wants louis (and lestat, kind of, sometimes, sort of, it's complicated) to be happy, he does. after the events of merrick, louis goes back to armand and they live at trinity gate for 15 (???) years together again, lovers, companions, friends, all the sorts, and when louis goes back to lestat, armand is conflicted, and when louis is taken by roshmandes, armand is livid, absolutely livid, angry at lestat for letting louis down, for not watching him more carefully, etc. that love never quite dies out, something I think we would have more concretely had anne written armand and louis as fully fleshed out characters instead of lestat pov followed by 300 random past vampires that are impossible to keep track of half the time. basically, the books have set up for loumand to be a continuation of sorts, to -- at the very least -- have an unbreakable companionship and to not explore that in the show would be a travesty given all that is set up.
luckily for us, this writing team has proven to be beautifully talented so far, and have turned several things on its head and elaborated on others, and I am hopeful that they will use the talent of jacob and assad to their advantages, will use the beautiful relationship already on our screens to their advantage, will not waste potential of any of this, and that we will see how louis and armand move on from each other and how -- at the end of the day -- they never really do, even if they do.

IWTV Ask Game
2. How did you find out about or discover it?
i'd seen the movie before and when the trailer came out i thought it looked really good so it was on my radar before it came out. but the reason i actually started watching was that i was disappointed in house of the dragon bc daemon and rhaenyra weren't a toxic enough couple when they actually got together and i wanted to watch some toxic romance. lol
ok long version of the story! (sorry if you don't care about hotd lol)
i was really excited about hotd after the trailers started coming out and like the freak i am, i was especially excited to see the insane uncle/niece incest grooming go from gross to fun when they eventually marry and fight a war and everything goes wrong and they're both crazy and toxic and evil. that's my idea of a good time. this shot from the trailer in particular had me excited for this dynamic:
Tumblr media
and the beginning was so promising, their scenes when she's still a teenager played by the younger actress milly alcock are very intriguing! creepy but intriguing.
Tumblr media
but then episode 7 happens. i knew ahead of time that the plot of the episode was that daemon's wife has just died and at her funeral he fucks his niece, as you do, and then suddenly rhaenyra's husband also dies and they get married for succession war reasons without permission from her father the king who would fucking hate this. insane sequence of events! and i'd heard that the marriage ceremony was going to be valyrian rites with blood and stuff. for the uninitiated, valyrian refers to the (mostly) lost civilization of blond people who ride dragons and do incest and they're rumored to have done blood magic and stuff. so i had high hopes for this whole valyrian marriage rites scene. a blood sacrifice? some animal or...? an altar with LOTS of blood! their dragons take to the air! they should fuck on the bloody altar while their dragons fuck in the air! either way the visuals will be insane and amazing!
yeah, so the episode airs. and i'm BORED. they made this shit boring somehow. the dialogue is bad and so is the directing. they have a bland conversation about their respective marriages and then have some tepid sex. it just doesn't look like they're that into it even. was that intentional? i cant tell. other more interesting stuff happens and then close to the end of the ep shes like uncle i need you so i can win the eventual war that everyone knows is going to be break out so we should get married. hes like hmm ok. but shes already married so they fake her husband's death so he can sail into the sunset with his boyfriend. toxicity and evilness toned down as much as possible. then they marry and the valyrian ritual is just like. fine. no dragons. they cut their palms so there is blood. if i saw it without prior expectations i'd probably think it was kinda cool but i had built it up in my head to be way cooler so.
Tumblr media
in the next episode they kinda just act like a normal couple. despite the whole incest age gap uncle niece grooming shit. i wanted them to be screaming. i am sad about it.
im on tumblr and i see a post with a jacob anderson quote saying iwtv is basically a show about a married couple slamming doors on each other. i'd seen some gifs and ofc i'd seen the trailer months ago but this makes me go !!!!! THIS could be the toxic marriage i was looking for! i go watch it immediately. two episodes have aired so far but it only took me one to fall in love! new obsession unlocked! louis de pointe du lac is my truest love!
at that point im barely able to give half a shit about hotd anymore, i dont even watch the last two eps until days or weeks later. (in the last episode daemon and rhaenyra do get more interesting as they have some tension over him acting like he's in charge even though she's the queen and he's just her consort. he also strangles her a bit when he gets upset, which is very unsurprising from a misogynistic violent man who murdered his first wife (of 3) but some people were shocked. insert iwtv comparison here.) (i've also rewatched hotd with new eyes recently and enjoyed those episodes a lot more when i didnt have my own expectations clouding everything. i WOULD recommend the show for anyone who thinks family drama leading to a literal war feat. dragons sounds like a fun time. it is good and hopefully will be continue to be! also that quote from the showrunner saying daemon wanted to marry his brother and his niece was the closest he could get to was fucking life changing. ryan condal said gay targcest rights. also rhaenicent<3)
anyway iwtv becomes my #1 obsession from episode one and has stayed that way ever since!
iwtv ask game (sorry for mostly talking about a whole different show here lmao)

Yeah to add to that anon, I've been coming across some stuff on different platforms as well in the last 24 hours and honestly, I'm very disappointed in some individuals. I can see where show fans were coming from to some extent only accepting what was shown. Some of them got way out of hand, but some of these comments are now coming from people that have been in the fandom. I know Sam was also subjected to this but if I'm being honest, I think it's worse for Jacob because he already had to hear, and still is hearing it, just for being casted. There are the normal comments on YouTube making comments about Claudia/Assad/Jacob's race which I think as a fandom we have come to sadly expect, but I'm very disheartened to see it with some individuals in the fandom who were criticizing the group (and rightfully so) doing it to Sam last year that are now being just as ugly and/or insensitive toward Jacob, Claudia, and/or Assad.
-I've seen someone refer to Louis as Amber Heard and Sam as Johnny Deep.
-Tumblr posts saying Louis has manipulated Lestat the entire time and only did anything wrong (Antoinette, etc) in response to Louis' manipulations.
-There are some comments on a subreddit not under the IWTV subreddit saying that the the showrunners need to realize that Sam is the only reason people are watching the show.
-Another stating they are glad Louis is going to be exposed as a liar so maybe people will lose interest in Loustat and consider replacing him with Nicki.
-Another comment saying Louis/Jacob should be killed off along with Claudia because he is the true abuser and they don't want to see Lestat yearning for him after wronging Lestat.
-Another conversation that started as a discussion with Lestat's bloody frame from the trailer that ended in criticizing Rolin's comments about keeping Jacob around longer than season 2 because they would prefer to see Lestat with other love interests that are worthy of him.
-Another attacking Assad's looks.
-Another suggesting other actors who should have been casted as IWTV characters, rating them lowly, and detailing what is wrong with their looks in a discord. Poor Assad is getting the brunt of that one.
-A tweet from someone outside of the fandom complaining about the iwtv fandom for crossing the line with Eric and saying they should be jailed so I'm assuming it was not a pleasant exchange.
It is ridiculous and I had to get off IWTV related media today because it also crossed my mind that Jacob and Assad could probably see a lot of this. I commented this and was told "well they did it to sam so now it's jacob's turn."
How… nice.
Some points of this I actually saw, so…
Tbh, the cast is aware of the backlash just look at how nervous Sam was at the SDCC panel (and that was before the main shit even started). They know. And I also think it is no coincidence that Jacob withdrew a bit or that Assad was shit scared of taking on Armand.
This story comes with baggage because for some reason people just cannot stay polite. Don’t see the human behind the screen. Separate them from the role. Ugh. It makes me want to scream.
I really wished I‘d been wrong there, honestly 😒
I expect it to get worse before it gets better and I can only recommend that everyone curates their bubble / feed accordingly.

nine people i'd like to get to know better <3
Tagged by: @hearthouses and @ladyculebras
Last Song: "Don't Swallow the Cap" by The National
Favorite Color: I love blue-green colours like teal. Also brick red. Also various purples.
Last Book: "Heartless" by Dia Reeves. I really enjoyed it, but felt it was sort of rushed in parts. Could have used another 100 pages to allow it to breath more.
Last Movie: "Santa Camp", a documentary about a professional Santa organization and attempts to increase diversity among Santas. Follows three new attendees - a black Santa, a trans Santa, and a disabled Santa with spina bifida. Pretty interesting. (I saw it January 3rd. So after Christmas! But 18 days ago because I haven't been watching movies this month I guess.)
Last TV Show: Currently watching the 2nd season of "The Newsreader" (one episode left). It's about a nightly news program in late 1980s Australia. The leads are Anna Torv (Fringe, Mindhunter) and Sam Reid (Lestat). Excellent series. I find all the questions of news as a public service providing information vs news as entertainment (or at least needing to be engaging enough to maintain viewership) very interesting.
Sweet/Spicy/Savory: Savoury. Sweet is also good. (If it's a question of sweet vs salty it's definitely sweet)
Relationship Status: Single
Last Thing I Googled: I was googling "aqua" and "teal" for the colours question because I mix them up
Current Obsession: "Interview with the Vampire" tv series. Which you can probably tell from my blog. I'd say since the first episode aired but I knew I was going to be obsessed since the first trailer for season 1 came out. Obsessed enough to keep checking a bunch of the show tags on tumblr even with them regularly giving me psychic damage <3
Looking Forward To: Season two of IWTV. Also going to my friend's place in a few days.

I've been thinking a lot about the irony of Anne Rice, who was well known for her dislike of fanfiction, signing her most famous book over to a network that shamelessly turned it into their own dreadful, racialized, tumblr-tier fanfiction so soon after her death. I wonder if she knew what they were doing to her book? It's a perfect example of Hollywood using wearing a soulless skin suit of someone else's work not only to profit but to push progressive woke ideology. Nothing about this version of IWtV has anything whatsoever to do with the book besides a few names and New Orleans. They changed the plot and characters to the point of being almost unrecognizable, and they even felt the need to change the mechanics of how these particular vampires existed for no reason??? The creators even had the gall to say their version was truer to the story than the 1994 film, which Mrs. Rice herself was involved in making. It just seems disrespectful to do her dirty like they did. The Queen of the Damned movie looks faithful to its book by comparison...and that movie is undisputed hot garbage!
Tumblr will probably think I'm a bigot for thinking this show is trash, but I actually think it's trash because I am a stickler for Canon and would adapt any book literally word for word if I had my way, and this show couldn't be further from the canon if it tried.
I really loved the IWtV book when I was in high school and I've read it a couple times since, so I was quite disappointed but not surprised to see this wonderful gothic fantasy story into a politicized, debauched shitshow that the book, despite being a vampire story, never seemed to be. It's truly a show that was not made for fans if the book, especially ones who have enjoyed it for literally decades. I see why this show would appeal to Tumblr. I remember there were people here making jokes about being able to make fanfiction again as soon as they'd heard that she died, not to mention there's a general predilection here for tossing canon out the window whenever it gets in the way...I saw the trailer for The Witching Hour, another of Mrs. Rice's books I enjoyed, and I'm afraid that that's going to get a similar treatment...

I just saw another trailer on Twitter for Iwtv and it has Lestat about to kill someone and he says 'Send Saint Peter our regards'.
...I don't think I'll ever recover from this show and hasn't even shown yet 😭🤯
